"I would love something calm for a change," Lizzy shook her head slowly, letting out a giggle, "It's a bit much to ask for though, I guess..." She paused, her gaze dropping down to her plate, voice lowering, "Mot... You didn't go to the raid on the island, right?"
Another pause followed, "Is it because of your beliefs? Because... I couldn't do it. I couldn't stand by my beliefs when it was required of me... I would regret not going, but I regretted going. Is that weird?"

Mot nodded softly. A grim topic, and one that got him in trouble with Hel. Lizzy's view on it was enlightening. An opinion of the raid from the point of view of Lizzy, someone who did not put all her beliefs in the fight alone like Hel. Someone more like himself.
"Honestly, part of me regrets not going to support my friends. So really, no matter what, you'd feel the same. It isn't weird. Not at all."

"Why must it be so complicated?" Lizzy grumped softly, tugging and kneading her own cheeks gently, "Although... You know, Mac wasn't there either." She had a feeling that his reason was much less noble though... She kept trying to find a good time to ask, but she just couldn't bring herself to pop the question, especially since she was conflicted about the issue.
"Um... There was this point where I thought I was really going to die, and be gone forever," She muttered, using her fork to push the remaining pieces of cupcake around on the plate, "And at that moment, I wanted to see Mac. Like I really, really wanted to see him because it might be the last time I would be seeing him... But he wasn't there. Mot, he's almost never there during these things."
She went quiet, the only sound coming from her direction being the sound of her fork hitting the plate, "... I'm glad because it means that he's safe. I'm sad because it means that if I were to die, if I were to be converted into a weapon, if I were to disappear for whatever reason, I can't leave him with my last words. I can't even see him. And I'm afraid to tell him that, because I don't want him in danger... It's enough that I involve myself in these things, right?" Because she couldn't just stand aside when her friends are in trouble. She tried. It didn't work.

Mac never seemed to be around on those trips. He wasn't sure if it was smart or cowardly. Maybe he just didn't care. Lizzy's points were valid. It was better to have a loved one at home. But then wouldn't it feel the same on the flip side? Wouldn't Mac prefer Lizzy to be home safe?
Mot had almost forgotten that part about almost dying. Hel had said the same thing. To think all of his treasured friends were in such a place on the brink of Death made him shudder. Lizzy, Xiu... ghouls he never wanted to suffer. Even Hel, whom could hold her own, and charged into battles almost blindly. He worried for her too.
Once again Mot frowned at the mention of Mac. He was never there, huh? That sat with him, leaving a bitter taste. Mot had been beating himself up over not going, but when it came down to it, he was around in these dangerous places way more often. He was almost always there, and half the time he didn't even have a ghoulfriend he should be protecting.
"I don't know what to tell you, Lizzy. If it's important to you, bring it up to him." Mot lowered his gaze. "Lately I haven't been leaving Amity at all, because I feel like I will only be a hinderance than a help. Me just being there will do little for my friends when it comes down to it. I don't know why Mac is never there, but that's why I haven't been."
His eyes lifted, an apologetic look spread over his face. "I'm sorry I wasn't there. Useful or not.. a friend should always be there.."

"I don't want him to think that I need him there or anything though," Lizzy sighed, cutting her cupcake into smaller, and smaller pieces; she had lost her appetite somewhere along the way, but leaving so much on the plat seemed like it would be a waste, "It's more like... I want him there because of my own selfish reasons, you know?"
At Mot's apology, she looked up, looking mildly surprised, "O-oh, no! It's alright... You had your reasons. And now, she's tempted to find out about Mac's, "But you should never think of yourself as useless, alright? When you keep saying something to yourself, you'll start believing it to be true... If you want to think something, think of yourself as awesome instead. At least try that..."
Her phone buzzed, and she quickly took it out, smiling when she saw the name of the person who had sent the text.Kaiyumi Text to Lizzy: Oh...yes, of course! If you're sure that you don't mind having me? I play the flute--which probably won't be very helpful for this?--but I'm also been learning to play the piano/keyboard! Do you think that would be okay?

Mot nodded softly again. Maybe that was why Hel had been upset? No, she seemed more upset that he would falter even when a life was on the line. This seemed more like wanting someone by your side through thick and thin. "It isn't selfish. Not really. He is important to you, and you want him there for the good times and the bad."Mot couldn't help the negative feelings he had of himself, but he knew he needed to start helping it. It didn't just affect him. It affected those around him. "I'll try." Mot said with a small smile. He finished his soup, eyeing Lizzy as she broke apart the cupcake. "Is it no good?"He lifted his gaze as Lizzy received a text. Well.. looked like it was pretty certain now. He sighed with a smile and took the phone. Flute or piano... Well, if he omitted his harmonica, they could probably play some kind of nice ballad. He knew a couple songs that could work with guitar and piano (or flute). Kaiyumi Hey Xiu! It's Mot. I think those instruments will work just fine. How about me and Lizzy drop by, and we have a little brainstorming session? I'm sure we can come up with something fun to play. After that he handed the phone back to Lizzy.

"Y-you think?" Lizzy asked, managing a weak smile, "Maybe I'll talk to him about it sometime then..." She had no idea what sort of answer she was expecting from him though; either way, she wouldn't exactly be happy. She doesn't want him putting his life on the line, but at the same time, it would reassure her, if that was the case.
"Hm? Ah, no... It's really good! I'm just feeling a little down all of a sudden, that's all," She chuckled sheepishly, reaching to take the phone back from Mot. As she was able to put it down on the table, it started to buzz, providing her with a good distraction from all her depressing thoughts. Quote: Text to Lizzy/Mot: Sure! Mot frowned softly. What a waste. Oh well, she'd have plenty of time to feel better and eat the ton of cakes she ordered to go. So many... And now another one for Xiu. Mot's brow twitched, a forced kind of smile gracing his face. "Yes.. I'll pay for that as well." He sighed, waving for the waitress to bring the cakes and bill.
He'll get you for this, Lizzy.

"Awww, you're the best big brother," Lizzy beamed, finishing up the cupcake for his sake; how could he stay mad or upset at her? After wiping her mouth with the serviette provided, she hopped off her seat and walked over to Mot, wrapping her arms around him to give him a hug, "Things would probably have been easier if I had met you first."
It was a total mystery what she meant by that.

Mot accepted the hug with a more genuine smile, though it morphed into confusion at her words. "What?" He asked, perplexed. What would have been easier?

"Nothing~!" Lizzy giggled softly, releasing Mot from the hug just as the waitress came to the table, carrying two bags filled with cute boxes containing cakes and other pastries.

But he also let it go, sighing softly. "Fine, fine." Once they got their orders, Mot paid the (hefty) bill. "Well then, let's go bother Xiu."
