"You gonna radio back or something when it's clear to go?" Terran was asking in a less-than-concerned tone. He seemed to be calm enough.

"Hn.. radio communications within the building? I think not. Far too risky. You will wait outside, in the nearest alley, and remain hidden until I contact you. Don't worry about whether or not I will find you, because I will. Once we are clear on the positon, location, and apparent abilitiy of security, we'll begin the operation.

I certainly hope all of this is clear enough... because there are no practice runs."

"Just the way I like it. Lead on, Meistro."

Go for it, mang. -is running low on creative juices-

Damien nodded and casually walked towards the front entrance of the hotel, Terran hopefully trailing behind him. In the early morning light, the man called for a taxi, casually asking to head towards the downtown area. Of course, it was mostly bustling as usual, and the drive took longer than expected.

Damien was quiet for most of the ride- he was too busy formulating a strategy on how best to cause a distraction without really doing much of anything. There should be a cargo elevator or delivery entrance somewhere in the premesis, and Terran would have to enter through there in order to properly get inside with little fuss.

As the buildings got taller, he cut off his train of thought. They were just about there, with little time to contemplate the situation or make any proper reconnaisance.

This was going to be fairly simple... either that, or it would land them both in jail. Either way, they would find something out from these guys, that was for sure.

And as long as they didn't, you know, die, Terran was fine with that.

So, in this few moments ride, the man simply contemplated this little adventure, hoping for some kind of positive prospect. He wasn't sure of much, other than he'd likely buy a newspaper and lounge a bit to pass the time. It was worth the shot.

Soon, they arrived, and he told the driver to stop at the nearest street corner. Thanking the man and telling him to keep the change, the two of them approached the building and he turned towards Terran. "All right. Take position in some cover until I can confirm the positions and ability of the guards. Once I let loose the distraction, you're on your own once you reach the the upper levels. Use your best judgement, and whatever you do... do not let anyone see you. You do not exist until I say you do, understand?"

Terran simply nodded, walking over to the street corner where a Barton Blues, an underground newspaper, was being sold for a dime. Not bad. So, Terran sat down on the corner and just read. In wait.

With a nod, Damien headed towards the Yaits Corp offices, hoping to find some information of his own before Terran did his work. A detatched, unemotional mask- the poker face that all members of R.I.O.T. Three had been trained to wear- slid over his face.

It was time to go to work again.

Yaits Insurance Branch, Barton.

Quote:
Not a major office, as before the return of Edward Yaits III most of the company's business was insuring buildings and estates of Durem and the surrounding region. But the company had a share of the Barton market, so there was an office present in that city. The bottom floor of a building in Downtown Barton had served the Yaits Company quite nicely.

That was it, a rented space, almost the entire bottom floor of a minor office building that had been around for thirty or so years and was begining to show signs of it's age. Past the lobby of the building itself were glass doors white the new Yait's Insurance stickies placed on the glass. There was a front desk, and a bunch of cubicles behind it.

Security was minimal, there were security cameras in the main lobby. The Yaits office had a security camera as well, but it seemed to be broken. It had no lens! As it was not a government building, their were no metal detectors at the entrance, but there was a security guard posted behind the steps. His white bushy mustache furling as he slept on a comfy chair. But the Yaits office had their own security guard. A sauve young man with slicked black hair who walked around in his security uniform and flirted with the ladies. His weapon was a Desert Eagle Mark XIX. There was really no telling if he knew what he was doing or not.

Overall, it was not in the least impressive.

"...Jeez... this is pretty damned whiney..." Terran flipped a page, getting a scowl from the salesman. "God damn... Barton isn't THAT dirty..."

That's right. He was still on low alert. He was waiting for a sign.

Damien almost scoffed...

This is like taking candy from a baby, he mused to himself, his face still unemotional as he nodded at the aged security guard on his way in, acting as if the man were not asleep to keep up appearances. Walking towards the front desk, he casually nodded towards the receptionist- if there was one- and kindly began with "Good morning... I was wondering if you could tell me if there is any news on the Yaits disappearance. You know, whether they found him or not. I understand that this was a while ago, and I haven't been keeping up..."

Of course, he was keeping up. He didn't want this person to know, though. So he kept his expression blank and his eyes focused front and center.

Security
The Yaits office had a security camera as well, but it seemed to be broken. It had no lens!

Suddenly, without sound or warning, the camera had a lens. The little creature had choosen this cozy little spot to make it's nest, what better way to keep tabs on the employees! The creature was a little one, a baby, with no weapons or ability to absorb hate. But it could watch and listen, and it was linked to it's master. As the creature was silent, and Damien hadn't seemed to notice the missing lens, there would be almost no way for him to know he was being watched.

"Yaits the III?" The receptionist asked, "All I know is that everyone received a decent raise after he took control. You didn't know he came back? I thought everybody knew that. So, how can I help you?"

"Hm... I was looking for some work around here, that was all; I figured this would be a good place to start. However, from the condition of the building, I trust that it wouldn't be... erm... a rewarding experience for me. I wouldn't want the ceiling to fall on my head during my work here," he said good-naturedly.

"It's nice to know that he's back... If you'll excuse me, I must be on my way." Actually, it wasn't nice- he didn't explain the part where it was highly suspicious that the man had turned up without a lead, clue, or anything else of importance to police work. But whatever- he had found out what he needed to know.

However, it was on his way back out when he noticed it.

Looking up as he prepared to leave, he saw that the camera from earlier... had a lens now when it had not before. Indeed, he had taken the camera into account as he entered, which was why he believed this was a piece of cake. But now...

I do not believe in coincidence... We can't do this now, he brooded to himself as he casually pulled his head away from the camera, acting as if the little monster didn't matter and walked out as if nothing was wrong.

As he made his way out of the front doors and was clear of the building, He approached Terran with a grimace on his face. This was a new and highly disturbing development- if there were one of these things... how many more were there? It was a question that would have to be awnsered later.

"Terran... let's go. We're headed back to the room."
