☆═━┈┈━═☆ The emerald phoenix's eyes swiveled onto him instantly, staring at him intently once more. 'Watch yourself, Almas... The Queen's eyes are not blind...' Flora continued to stare at him relentlessly, not moving her graceful body. Not really paying this much mind, Seira laughed at Hal's comment. "It'd be funny to see Flora try and eat him, but I don't think she'd ever try. he doesn't look very tasty... Although he does look like he would taste kinda fruity. Maybe pineapple?" Laughing a bit more at this, unable to help herself, she held onto her sides, Flora perched gracefully and unmoving on her shoulder.

Halliviere's eyes grew wide and she let out a gasp. "Surely not! Poor Rook can only handle so much." She lifted the fox to cradle him closely, the poor furball having long since fell asleep from all the stress placed on his tiny body. "Well, at least he is sleeping soundly."

☆═━┈┈━═☆ Seira paused, wondering why her friend reacted as such. With a pang of horror, she realized she had not specified, and grew into a panicked frenzy, waving her arms around wildly. "Nonononono!!! I didn't mean Rook!! I mean Almas!!" She shut her eyes tightly, her body jittering from the massive amount of emotion she felt due to her mistake. "I am SOOOO sorry!!!"

Almas placed a hand over his heart and gasped dramatically. "H-...how could you betray me like this? I brave a deadly maelstrom of raging winds and hurricanes and battle fierce demons singlehandedly," Havi coughed in the background, but Almas cleared his throat louder, "AND I lead the entire army all by myself to save the villagers, and for what? Her Highness to feed me to her pet canary?! Oh, this is just too much for my fragile heart!" He turned away in a melodramatic fashion. "Well, if that is how you treat your friends, then good day to you madames!" He strode to the other side of the room with is head held high and walked on the other side of a motif rack, trying and failing to give the impression that he had stormed off.

☆═━┈┈━═☆ Seira stared after him, her face impassive. Even though she knew he was being over dramatic, she feared for him. On her shoulder, Flora gave a loud and long shriek, her large elegant green wings creating a small gust in the room as she took flight, and flew after Almas, a few vines beginning to protrude from her wings. She was not happy. Seira, reacting quickly, called out, "Sir Ferrison! Apologize! Or you'll regret it~!" She turned slightly to Hal. "I don't think he's going to be able to do so in time..." She sighed. "You don't want to know what happens... Though, then again, if he doesn't apologize, you'll see it anyway..."

Almas strode back out from behind the rack, glaring daggers at the emerald bird. What an annoying buzzard! And here I actually thought the thing was pretty?! Tch! Just an arrogant bird who thinks it can stare down at anyone because it's the queen's pet! Still...no use getting on the Queen's bad side directly after being knighted, all for the sake of a pet. "Very well...Please forgive me, Flora. I will not lie and say that I favor you. It is beneath me as well as yourself to dole false flattery. However, a gentleman should not insult another." Huffing and sighing, he bowed to the bird, then strode over to Havi and plucked the sleeping Rook from her hands. "My little friend and I will check on the villagers." He walked briskly out of the room, the now awake kit in his arms, yipping and playing with the buckles on his armor. In a second, he was out the door, but not before shooting the bird one more annoyed look.

Halliviere stared from Seira to Almas, expecting a huge calamity. She was shocked, to say the least, that he actually conceded to appologize. But then again, even an idiot wouldn't want to lose his job after he just got it, if that look on his face was anything to go by. She was even more shocked when he continued towards her and took Rook right out of her hands. "W-what exactly do you think you are doing?!" After Almas explained himself and left the room, Halliviere sighed and looked back at her best friend. "How childish of him! But do not be so hard on him, if you would. I suspect he acts out of jealousy of your bird...and the rest of us for that matter. I learned quite a bit about him while forging his sword and armor. I learned that he lost his wings and can no longer fly." Halliviere lifted a hand to her forehead and let out an exasperated sigh. "But to act so foolishly..." Halliviere smiled and stroked Flora's feathers gently. "Please do not take the jealous words to heart. You are very beautiful." She shot them both a look of empathy.

☆═━┈┈━═☆ Flora, her emerald wings slowly lifting and falling, keeping her in place, kept eye contact with Hal, blinking only once. 'He'd best watch himself. I can't stand disrespect, not to my master, or to myself. On my behalf, when I am not around, please keep an eye on him for me, Halliviere...' Blinking once more, she twirled once upwards before coming down and landing on her masters shoulder once more, tucking her beak beneath one of her wings, closing her eyes. Seira smiled, gently caressing her dearest pet. "I'm not mad at anyone, Hal... If anyone's upset, it would be Flora." She looked back at her friend, still smiling. "Floral Phoenix's are really rare, and they're said to be the messengers of Gaia. (Hah! See what I did there?) You know, mother earth?" She shifted her gaze to watch her slumbering phoenix. "She is very proud of what she is, and can't stand anyone who is too full of themselves... I don't mind too much, so long as it doesn't interfere too much with the actual duty. However, when it comes to me personally, I'm afraid she's extremely overprotective... I hope Almas doesn't hold it against her... At least, not for too long... After all, all she really does is care..." After a moment, she looked back at Hal, her smile now a sad one. "And Almas isn't the only one... I don't have wings either..." She chuckled softly, nuzzling her phoenix with her cheek. "I was born without them... Funny, how the ruler of the birds has no wings..." Her tone was definitely sadder, but her smile remained. "Sorry... I kind of derived from the topic... we should go out and find Almas. It's no place for a baby fox. He could get sick." She proceeded to walking towards the door, not wanting to talk much about her lack of wings. She rarely told anyone; not even Queen Annowre knew this. But, it didn't matter. What mattered was retrieving Almas and Rook from the clutches of the terrible storm.

Halliviere lifted an eyebrow at the bird, but said nothing and nodded her head. Her attention was then drawn back to Seira and her eyes slowly started to widen. She had no wings either. 'So they are the same...' She let out another sigh at the misfortune of her friends, but would not disrespect them and speak out loud. "You are quite right on that avenue. Almas can have his own personal feelings so long as it doesn't hinder his work. Professionalism is key, even with us blacksmiths. Still...does he seem like the type to hold grudges." Halliviere's face held a dismal look, "He seemed to draw the line at poor Flora rather quickly. Well, hopefully this will all blow over. I feel bad for both him and Flora though, I'd admit...all of this commotion over a misfired joke, but there is a line there, too." Shaking her head, she motioned for Seira to lead the way...to the front door. Halliviere stopped, stared at Seira, stared down the corridor towards the kitchen full of villagers, then back at Seira, again. "Ah, my dear friend...I do believe he was referring to the villagers already in the castle." She swept her hands down the hallway in a gesturing fashion, stifling a small laugh behind an amused smile. Yes, a small subject change was best.

She mumbled, shaking her head slowly, then smiling brightly once more at her friend. "All right, then. let's go!" She exited the room at a somewhat brisk pace, her usual happiness shining through.

Halliviere nodded and walked briskly to the kitchen, a smile on her face belying the annoyance underneath. This was quite the trifle and Rook was due for bed soon. She made it to the kitchen door and opened it, quite pleased to find that the villagers were being fed and filed into different sleeping areas. "I must hand it to him, that Almas does hold his job down well..." she murmured to Seira before turning back to the wingless man. "Almas! I am here to retrieve Rook, as it is bedtime for him and time to close shop for me." A dark look crossed over her face, "and...we need to discuss your behavior."

Almas looked up from directing and escorting villagers and stared at the two women...and the bird. A clear look of disgruntlement crossed his face, whether from last few minutes or from the imminent scolding, no one would know. "Hey hey, now, Havi...this ain't really necessary is it? I mean, I already said my appologies. Ya can't make me like somethin' I just don't like, ya know. I might just be a knight, but even I don't have to take crap from a pet. Sorry for insultin' ya, miss phoenix, I DO still have some pride, and I aim't bendin' over backwards for ya." He nodded his head at the bird with narrowed eyes and made his way to Havi, handing her the tired kit. "And gimme a break. My little buddy was just keepin me company while I did my job." He gave Rook a smirk while the sleepy baby fox wagged his tail happily.

☆═━┈┈━═☆ Seira glanced between her new Captain of the Guard and Flora, who was still sleeping on her shoulder. She chuckled nervously and looked back at Almas, then at the villagers. "May I have everyone's attention please?" As everyone quieted down, a few guards assisted her to standing on a table so that everyone could see her smaller form more easily. "The Autumn Festival will take place in 3 days in the Ball room. Everyone is invited, so please feel free to bring whomever you please!" She turned to Almas. "All right, Captain of the Guard. Do me the immense favor of guiding these poor people back to their homes, and please make sure that no one gets hurt." She smiled softly at him, showing that she had no ill will towards him. If anything, she was used to people hating her pet. They both learned to live with that burden.

Almas gave a lopsided grin and straightened up, giving a formal salute. "Yes, Your Majesty! It would be an absolute honor to act upon the orders of the Queen." He gave a deep bow, his pride once again welling up. 'That's right! I'm head Knight now! Eat your heart out, Harland! I'm the big shot now!" He was seriously deliberating whether or not to dance in front of the entire room. He just couldn't come down from his post-promotion high. 'Look at me now, everyone! Im a bigshot!!!' he inwardly squealed--in a manly way, of course. He straightened up and turned towards the rest of the room. "Alright, everyone! For the time being, follow the instructions I gave you and everything will be fine. The groups will meet later tonight to take tabs on everyone's conditions. I want all the elderly and children properly monitored. Any mothers-to-be, are also to be follow the same criteria! Send the Second Lieutenant to oversee the able-bodied!" He was definitely getting into his role.

Halliviere stroked the sleeping Rook's fur and looked over to Seira. "I would hope you would teach me my role in the festival. I really hope not to mess this up." This would be the first time she ever participated in this festival and she had no idea what to do. Was there some special rite she had to perform? Or was she simply to light a torch? It was nerve-racking just to think about it.
