"That thing freaks me out." Mot snapped back with an embarrassed pout, tossing the line back in. Luckily nothing caught for a long while. The reaper sighed and rubbed his neck with a free hand, heavy eyes staring out at the calm waters.

Kettil snorted a bit, "It could be worse," he insisted simply. After all, the creature could claim to be in love with him. Then again maybe it was. Kettil shuddered a little and then suddenly a tug on his line he yanked it up and what filled his vision was either a thing of horror or a thing of beauty.
A catfish wrapped in a poptart flew across the air with a rainbow trailing after it as it screamed a loud song to the air, "nyannyanNyanNYanNYAnNYAN....!!! NYAAAAAAAAHHHH~~~~~"
Kettil grunted as it flopped and wiggled on his lap small. He wrestled with it a moment to try and unhook it, "SIT STILL DAMN IT."
The creature uttered a distressed, "NYAAAAAAAAAAN! >n<....!"
After a moment or two he got it off the line and threw it back. He didn't want to keep it, what if it was poisonous to eat. All those flashing colors can't be healthy!

Mot stared. He was in awe, or perhaps too terrified to express it. The fabled kitty of legends was also aquatic.

Casting his line once more he cleared his throat, "Anyways, uhh..." What were they talking about again?
His expression darkened a bit after he found another boot at the end of his line soon after that strange moment he had a second ago, "Damned boots," he grunted as he unhooked it once more.
Endzela let out a small hoot of agreement.

Oh dear.. the boots seeemd to be really making the maiden of nature Kettil mad. Mot shifted uncomfortably in place.
"Um.." He murmured uncertainly, "..."
Well he just felt awkward.

Kettil glanced at Mot and then around that time he pulled up another boot.
..Did some sort of shoe store suddenly sink here or something? Was there some sort of chronic boot thrower in the area? Was it witchcraft?
It was a curse. He glanced over at Mot, "...You need some boots?"
Kettil didn't feel awkward simply because he refused to feel awkward.

"Um.. no." Mot answered. "But I'm sure the leather on them is.. salvageable?" The end result would be patchwork, but that was all the rage anyway, right? He knew Hel might be able to use it. maybe...
BIG Maybe.
Mot felt a tug and flicked the line back. An eel landed in front of him and Kettil, but it seemed. Dead. Mot poked it, only to hear a raspy moan come from the sickly looking creature. It coughed and sputtered, flapping it's tail lazily.
"...k...kill.. meeeee..."
Mot looked like he might puke. He kicked it back into the water.

A thoughtful look crossed over his face, "Yeah, maybe...I'll just separate the leather and maybe something can be done with it," he said thoughtfully, "though I never really worked with leather outside of making cords for necklaces and the like."
Then Mot made his catch and threw it back...
"Euuugh, I hope whatever that was .... Isn't contagious," He muttered a bit as he started to pull up a new catch which was another boot. He made a small face but kept in mind Mot's suggestion.

The reaper grimaced at Kettil's comment. "I certainly hope not.." Mot replied, flicking his line back in. Maybe he should wash his hands... "Why do i catch nothing but dysfunctional fish?"
The night grew closer.

"Maybe this is the Lake of Dysfunction or something," Kettil commented idly as he flicked his line back in as well and just sat there, "but at least you have a better record than I do other than that weird catfish-thing. I keep gettin' boots and stuff," he drawled as he reached up with his free hand and rubbed the back of his neck.
Kettil shrugged, "Really, though, you're pretty good at this. You caught on better than I did when I was learning. First time? I threw my rod in the lake by accident cause I got a lil' too 'xcited."

Mot was good at it for a beginner? Well, that was comforting. Mot smiled very softly, tilting his head to the side. "It's fun. Even if all I catch is back talking gills." Nyancatfish would have been preferable to the sickly eel. "Why would you thr---"
Mot paused as he flicked back the line. What hit him in the face made him cut off his sentence, his body freezing in place.

Kettil was about to ask what was up but then he looked over and saw the panties of a soaked nature hanging on Mot's face. He held back a laugh as he shifted a bit closer and gingerly pulled them off of Mot's face, "Errr, at least they're clean?" he offered helpfully. At least Kettil wasn't afraid of 'intimates'. He was everything but afraid of them.
He went to pull his line when he felt a tug and soon enough a magazine issue of 'DIRTY GHOULS 4 U' flopped wetly onto the ground in front of them. This was at least a different issue, "...Lake of Perversion and Dysfunction, apparently," he mumbled blushing a bit as he flipped the mag open to a rather revealing centerfold simply because he was very curious.
A soggy centerfold but still...
... He flipped it closed a short second after. AHEM.

Mot slowly peeled off the panties, the shock in his face frozen in time. His mouth formed a tight thin line across his face, a free hand wiping off the water that had splattered. "Define clean." He replied stiffly.
He looked up in time to see what popped up from the lake this time, his stiff features contorting into one of pure and utter WTF. "What is wrong with this lake?!" He huffed and tossed the line back in. They may as well keep going. Maybe once they cleaned and purged the lake of filth, something good would happen.
"Nyan nyan nyanyannyan nyannyan nyanyanyan nyan~"
".....Oh no.."
Mot flicked the line back. Brilliant rainbows dusted the air and droplets of pungent lake water, the pastry filled feline dancing and splashing on the shore before them.
"Nyan nyan nyanyannyan nyannyan nyanyanyan nyan~
NYANNYAN nyan nyan nyan~ Nyanyanyan nyan nyan~"
"I......" Mot took it by the tail, and tossed it back into the water.

Kettil felt flummoxed a bit as he watched Mot catch a Nyan-Catfish. His brow furrowed as he cast his line again and thankfully nothing happened, "I dunno what is wrong with it," he said simply with a short laugh, "but at least it can't get worse, right?"
RIGHT?!
...He felt he was going to be eating his own words yet again.

"Famous last words." Mot warned, a worried look cast at the lake.
A long moment passed, and his line felt lighter. A strange tug and nothing. Mot curiously lifted the line to see the bait had been burgled. "Oops..." Mot sighed and got another worm to add on the hook. Seems he just missed a catch.
