“A plan is perhaps only as good as the people who execute it.” He gave a small smile and scratched gently behind her ears. “I am glad we were able to bring more back as well, I know it’s not my normal methodology, the strike before asking method but sometimes you do what you must.”

“We acted better together than I could have hoped, we did… very well. I think we could stand to see more senshi, Dark Moon and otherwise.”

Another sip of beer as he finished his second slice of pizza, meatball just like the first. Smiling as he spied a familiar cream colored cat, he was glad to see her doing well. Not wanting to interrupt the apparent conversation taking place he inclined his head to the cat, hoping to attract her attention he added in a slight wave.

A look around their dwindled group while setting his empty paper plate down, he kept his drink in hand, he used his now freed up left hand to draw his hair back from his face and gave it a few twists in the hopes of keeping it back for a short while.

The idea of new members, no matter what side of chaos they were on, was pleasing.

Eavesdropping would never get boring for Remarque, who had been languidly observing the group even as the numbers dwindled. He might have made an effort to leave earlier had he not found such great interesting in both the area and the occupants. He saw a number of people that he recognized, though didn’t really have any drive or energy to meander over them—until he eyed Benitoite.

He had not forgotten Bazzite’s near-psychotic please of assistance, though Benitoite certainly didn’t look as terrible as Remarque had been lead to believe.

He had considered venturing over to some of the Dark Mirror Senshi, though considering Leto had mentioned they had a meeting coming up, he figured he could mingle with his own time in the very near future and check on those he was closest with n a more private location.

Rising from his chair, more than a few muscles ached, though sans an unimpressed expression he kept his complaints to himself. While walking to Benitoite, Remarque came to the firm conclusion that any plans he might have had for the rest of the evening that did not involve his shower or his bed were very much off. “…You look more alive than Bazzite would leave me to believe. I expected to find you half dead and-slash-or missing a few limbs. You’re looking pretty good, all things considered.”

Food still held no appeal, and beer had never particularly been to Jett’s tastes. Not anymore, at least; high school had knocked out his drive for most alcoholic beverages. Unless they just so happened to be a nicely aged glass of wine to accompany a most succulent steak. He couldn’t imagine eating anything, however—and even the thought of a glass of water sounded like too much trouble.

"I did see Bazzite, and hear him, shouting whilst attached to you. He can't help himself, despite me being the more capable he worries. It's in his nature to worry for those close to him." He explained quickly as he stood. He was sore as well, but not terribly injured - the wonders of starseed consumption.

"He is loyal to those close to him, worries over the littlest things." He said smiling fondly as he thought over Bazzite. "You look no worse for wear either. I'm glad to see that." His drink set down and quickly forgotten, he really didn't like the taste of alcohol, nor the memories of that drinking contest with the youma and other agents.

"I do hope you didn't get too beaten up after we parted ways. I found myself rather busy all evening." Too busy at times, far too busy. He had started to wonder if he had some form of a target on him.

Remarque merely scoffed at Benitoite’s last statement. “I don’t get ‘too beaten up’.”

Arrogant—yes—but there was at least a truth to his words. Remarque had not, in quite some time, been in a state of absolute defeat. He had never been one to be particularly careful in picking his battles, though what he hadn’t won with skill, he had won through determination and luck. Sure, there were a few minor set-backs along the way, but it wasn’t like he was going to go out and advertise the fact.

He wasn’t sure what to call this evening; he’d come out with less bruises than he had received than he had given, however to receive any bruises at all annoyed him. Whereas he should have taken that as a reminder that he was as mortal as all those around him, he simply brushed it aside.

“…But I understand being busy,” he reluctantly acknowledged. He had run into his fair share of nuisances throughout the night, and while some faces stood out vividly, others just blended together. “I’d like to think I’m well off when it comes to looking after myself. Though I do still think I’ll look forward to getting away from all this for a bit. Bed sounds good.”

…And maybe some ice packs, too. Hell, maybe he’d even cave and take some aspirin tonight.

"I think everyone is capable of being too beaten up, at some point in time." He stated with a simple shrug. They were all human and thus it was possible for anyone to get too beaten up, it simply depended on what fight or fights one got involved in. He knew he'd taken a beating tonight and would be sore in the morning.

"I feel like I had a target painted on me, to be honest." He'd lowered his voice now, he wasn't complaining or whining but starting a fact. He had felt like that at some points. "I have a few senshi I'll be remembering, for future run ins." He stated. He would be on the look out for certain senshi, he had enough with playing nice and after tonight a few new senshi had made the mental list of those to beat down.

"Hot bath and bed sounds good as well, like I told Leto those are my plans and thinking of an excuse for being beaten up. Something I can feed the parents and sorta something." He wasn't sure if it would last, how long, it was still new, and wait till the other found out he was still in high school. He really wasn't sure on anything yet.

"Perhaps we should get going, and continue our conversation? I know we have anther training session soon."

“A target?” Remarque asked, though didn’t wait for a response before he shook his head and replied, “You and me both, then. I’ve got more than a few Senshi to pick a bone with after tonight. Do you do any sports?”

He glanced at Benitoite, looking the male over. Like this, the guy looked more like some sort of academic or artist than an athlete. “…You could always go with the ‘I fell down the stairs’ or ‘Got mugged on my way home’ route. I have the luxury of being notorious for coming home with bruises after a boxing match or something.”

Remarque shrugged, rolling his shoulders as he tried to ease some of the tension. “Or just hide for a few days until you heal up. Unless you can stomach caking yourself in makeup or something. How soon are we thinking about this training session?”

Getting out of there sounded like a grand idea; apparently Remarque wasn’t going to be much for the party scene any time tonight—and there would always be later to check on the people he’d been concerned for.

"Sports - no. I'm more of an art student to be honest." And perhaps that fit with him, he really didn't know if he seemed to be the sports type. He'd never asked someone what he appeared to be to them.

"I used the mugged excuse with my parents, I had to come up with a reason for stitches back a few months. I could use it on one person but not the parents. Stairs might be the way to go." It was such a simple excuse and that was why he'd likely over looked it. He could easily use it. He was no good at lying to people, known to be blunt and honest, it was a new thing for him to learn to lie and to do it well enough to be believed. Though he figured his parents knowing how he was bought anything he said based on who he was. The new person however had no knowledge that he was a generally honest person, and most people did lie so he could be suspect.

"Make up...no thanks." Shaking his head he cracked a smile at the other. "I was thinking maybe next Saturday evening. I'll send you and Leto a text and you two can contact the members of your court. I'll see if Bazzite wishes to come, since he's living with me it's easy to ask him." He figured a week between now and training would be good enough for them to all heal up and any soreness to have fled.

"I think I'll be using the stairs excuse, the more I think about it. And since I have been painting I could always elaborate and add that I tripped on a tarp and slipped." It was a good idea, it would work he was sure of it. "Thanks Remarque. Now, do you need some help getting home?" He could easily teleport them both.

He'd sort've been wondering what Dahlia had gotten up to recently, and was amused to see she still liked pizza. The time he'd taken her out for a slice was still memorable, but then you got odd looks taking your pet out for Pizza and expensive bottled water.

She made an interesting visual partner with the General King as well, like a Bond Villain, only without the idiotic death traps. The only laser wearing sharks that they were likely to see would be to lure someone in for a real deathtrap.

No matter what else you thought of the little guy, you had to give him credit for that.

Dahlia wasn't the sort that was particularly impressed with modesty, but she didn't chide him for it. Whether he was modest or not, he'd proven himself entirely capable and that was what was important tonight.

"The more we turn on their side, the fewer they have to fight back. And if we can get at the more powerful ones.. or the ones with useful powers. It'll only make the task that much easier." It was a little bit of strategy, but that was about the extent of her intent to speak on anything productive tonight.

She did catch the sight of her old friend, giving Benitoite a soft c**k of her head and pleased swish of her tail in greeting from a far.

Realgar however... Leaving her pizza for a moment to draw nearer to him, she complained playfully. "My catgrass is getting all scorched from the heat" Yep, whether he'd noticed her or not she'd certainly been keeping her eye on him and making regular trips to his window garden.

While Remarque was not too keen on accepting ‘help’ of any sorts, he was at a bit of a loss at present. He wasn’t exactly sure how to get out of here and while he could have mirrorwalked, there was the issue about not being able to see any mirrors at present.

He noticed Dahlia after a short while; she was small and Remarque had not been looking at people’s ankles.

“…Yeah, actually. Getting home sounds good to me,” he said after a moment, taking one last glance around the room. There were still a few people he recognized; his eyes landed on Dahlia and, while she seemed engaged in conversation, he made a mental note to run into the cat again. He had never properly thanked her from their first meeting, though he had quite enjoyed the power she had unlocked for him.

Drawing his gaze away from the cat, he looked back to Benitoite and added, “Next Saturday sounds good. I’ll shoot a few reminders out to my group after we all get a little rest.”

"Sounds good, I'd appreciate you sending out messages. I'm afraid I'm not on a first civilian name with all your court. So I don't have numbers for them." He only had a phone number for Leto and talked to her often enough, and now he had a date set up with her to treat her to cheesecake and coffee. "I'll see if I can get Bazzite to come as well, this time." But Bazzite had a lot on his plate, emotionally.

Deciding to change topics, to them leaving, he placed a hand on the others shoulder. "Since I don't know where you live I'll teleport us somewhere close to my own home." And just hope the other lived close enough, so he didn't need to make a long trek home after how this evening went.

Remarque rather liked that Benitoite wasn’t completely in-the-know about the Dark Mirror Court’s civilian identities; he was still a tad protective of a few members, and while he should have trusted Benitoite, Remarque was still coming to terms with the fact that the Negaverse was supposed to be their allies. He valued relationships within the Dark Mirror Court more than any outside friendships, and while he tried to give the Negaverse the benefit of the doubt, far too many of their agents just seemed unwilling to cooperate. “You do that,” he said only. Bazzite and Benitoite were among the small number of Negaverse agents Remarque not only tolerated, but liked. “And tell Bazzite I said I’m sorry I spooked him.”

…Even if Remarque really felt no sympathy towards the male at all. Apologies—meaningful ones—were hard to come by from Remarque, though he would offer Bazzite one, regardless.

While he was not entirely comfortable with Benitoite’s hand on his shoulder—paranoia made him expect some sort of blow coming—he made no effort to shrug it off or even mention it. “If you’re headed anywhere near the park, I can make my way back from there. Though, mirrors are around the city enough that it doesn’t matter where you drop me off, I’ll make it somewhere safe for the night.”

"I'll let Bazzite know when I drag myself from bed." Which he knew would be late in the morning, there was no way he'd be up at his usual early hour to go for a run. He simply was too tired and sore and he already knew he'd be too sore to run in the morning anyway.

Unlike Remarque who didn't fully trust members of the Negaverse the smaller blond was trusting of their allies. He'd heard of what some members had done in the past, Leto had told him and he'd heard at a long ago meeting, but he also knew people changed and he held no personal grudge. He was sure if he'd been there for the incident he'd hold some grudge but as it stood he held none and was open to working with their allies, and being friends with them even as a civilian.

"I can stop off there, it's a bit of a walk for me but maybe it'll help work out the soreness. It's not a bad thing to walk anyway." Shrugging casually he inclined his head to those around them, in an unspoken good night.

"Ready then." And he didn't wait for an answer as he teleported himself and Remarque out.

"I'll water it when I get in." He promised, flashing her a smile that was a strange mixture of sheepish and wry. "Working late hours hasn't done the plants any favors."

He definitely had to own up to that, the other cats couldn't appreciate it either, they enjoyed having access to cat grass and other edible plants, and he needed to get back on top of that. Between his regular jobs and this, he was effectively juggling three jobs, two of which payed, but that wasn't an excuse to make the cats suffer.

"I'll get on it, Doll." He promised, offering her a ear scritch.

Still a bit strange to hear a cat use a voice that sounded like it should go to a pin-up girl, but he was sort of getting used to the idea.
