Menolly frowned, something she could seldom do when having contact with someone. Shaking her head, she hit her own checks with her hair, "You did not make Hermit mad, and you found the lovely stone. I had a lot of fun digging for shells and stones with you." Her tone was high-spirited and enthusiastic, she also smiled brightly and vibrantly. She did not think Wolfwood should blame himself. After all, they were having fun until she made Hermit mad.
Squeezing his hand gently to add to her comment. She looked to the home he took her to. Her golden eyes went wide as she gazed at, she tilted her head all the way back so that she could try to see the top of the tree. Reaching out to touch the bark, she then looked back to Wolfwood, this was his home, she thought that it would be him to walk in first.

Menolly's bright and sunny attitude instantly wiped away Wolfwood's guilt and he smiled again, squeezing her hand back. When they reached his home, he chuckled at Menolly's reaction to it. "Go on in," he told her, motioning her through the doorway with his free hand. Inside, his house was as fully furnished and functional as any human's. When you first walked in, you were met with a living room and a kitchenette. Separated from the main room by a curtain was Wolfwood's bedroom. The demon led Menolly to the kitchenette and had her sit down. He let go of her hand for just a second so he could grab his first aid kit then came back and gently administered to her hand.

Menolly looked in awe, his house was so nice! While Wolfwood took care of her hand, she looked around. Her house may have been bigger, but she felt his was extremly nice, too. "Wow" she said in an child-like wonderment, "Your home is so very nice looking, Wolfwood!" It was not like she had thought that his house would not be, just that she had no concept about what any other home would be like besides the one she grew up in.

"Thanks, Menolly. I'm pretty proud of it," Wolfwood replied, dabbing gently at the red welt on her hand with an alcohol pad. Then he spread some antibacterial cream on it and wrapped her hand in gauze. "There. How does that feel?" he asked her, observing his work.

The alcohol pad stung a bit, but not a murmur came from her about it. When he was done, she turned her hand into a half fist and released it, to test how her hand wanted to work. Giving a thumbs up, she responds, "It feels as good as new, thank you." She appreciated him caring for her a lot, and he was good at it. Her hand felt just fine now.

"I'm glad," he said as he scooped up all the trash and crumpled it into a ball. Then he shut the first aid kit and threw the trash away while he put the kit away. He hastily returned to Menolly's side when he was through and rested his right hand on the top of her head. "I suppose we should see about getting you home, huh?" He would have offered to let her stay over but he doubted she'd be ok with sleeping on the couch..

Menolly did not move her head, but her eyes did go up so that she could see Wolfwood a bit. Go home? Menolly held back saying that she was enjoying herself too much to want to go home. However, that was selfish and her parents would discover she was gone soon. "Yes, I should head back home. I do not know where my home is, exactly, but I do know it is the opposite way we came."

Wolfwood could tell just by looking at Menolly that she didn't want to go home yet but her parents would probably be waking up soon and they'd be out of their minds with worry if they found her gone. "I'll help you find your way back home," he offered, taking her uninjured hand and walking towards the door.

Menolly smiled and responded, "Thank you." She allowed him to lead and followed next to him when it was possible. She reminded herself that good-byes were only hellos for another day.

At the doorway, Wolfwood let go of Menolly's hand and draped his arm across her shoulders instead, steering her around like he had when they had been walking in the forest. "If you think you can find your way in daylight, you're welcome to visit me anytime," he told her as they walked, occasionaly glancing at her but, for the most part, keeping his eyes on where he was going. "I enjoyed your company."

Menolly walked beside Wolfwood, finding easier when he had his arm across her shoulders. Her golden eyes went to Wolfwood when he spoke, it was her habit to look a person when they talked. Her eyes sparkled a bit and she smiled even wider. "Thank you for inviting me, I am sure I can find my way, I will come back to visit real soon."
She liked it with Wolfwood, even better was that he said he liked her company, too. With a truthful, happy enthusasum, not over the top and raither calm concidering who said it and her normally child like enthusasum, Menolly resonded. "I really had fun, too, I enjoy being with you."

"You're welcome Menolly. I'll look forward to seeing you again." He smiled at her and gave her a little squeeze, steering her around a protruding tree root. "And I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Guess it was pretty lucky I bumped into you--literally." Wolfwood winked at her then brought his blue eyes back to the 'path' ahead of them.

Menolly did not take her golden eyes from Wolfwood untl he looked back to the area ahead of them. She was so happpy that he looked forward to seeing her and was happy they bumped into oneanother.
It made her feel special a bit, she knew her family loved her, but to hear that someone else liked being around her, was really nice to hear. Smiling and humming a second, she responds, "I look forward to finding my way back, too." Nodding her head she adds, "Very lucky, I am glad it was you that I bumped into."
She remembered her father telling her that there were pae she should never try to hug, she found one that it was okay to hug. One that was just as nice to hug as her family, only a bit different somehow.

"Aww, that's a nice thing to say. Well, I'm glad that you're glad it was me you bumped into. It's a good thing you didn't run into some shady character. Though, I'm not exactly a saint," Wolfwood admitted with a sheepish chuchkle, scratching at the back of his neck with his free hand. "But you think I'm alright, don't you?" he asked, almost as if he were half-expecting her to answer no.

Menolly was not sure what he meant by not being a saint. If she was right, saint was a good person. Which did not make sense to her, he was a good person. When he asked his question, she answered without hesitation, "No, I think your better then alright. Your a great guy and a lot of fun to be around." Almost shyly, she added, "And your my friend."
Nodding, she gave him a hug not for need of attention, just to give him a hug as renforcement of what she said.
