Personality: In a word...Badass. Forceful, unflinching, and demanding of respect and loyalty of those who serve her. Physically gifted and instinctively lethal, but lacking in the technical proficiency her brother majors in. Cool and lax in personality but quick to spark into a raging inferno of anger and indignant power. Always fond of Nito's creativity, as he looked up to her in that regard, but unhappy with the way his thoughtless action reflects on her own work. Much like a Banchou, she has several street-thugs in Yokohama working under her thumb.
Bio: Natsume Nekata was never viewed as the most talented member of her family. She wasn't the smartest, the most technical, the best at summoning demons, and once Nito began to grow, not even the best at hand-to-hand fighting. What she did have, perhaps more than any of them, was a forceful personality that simply wouldn't brook the idea of failure, disrespect, disloyalty, or anything of the like when she was training or on the battlefield. And more than any of them, her instincts when it came to fighting and brawling were impeccable...she could turn a fight on its head in a minute simply by marching through the hailstorm you never thought anyone would dare to brave and punching you in the mouth. She wasn't Kuzunoha material...a step down, perhaps, once it was all said and done. But more than adequate to be called a master and placed in charge of the defense of her province.

Thus, perhaps the wildest and arguably the most feared (Nagamasa notwithstanding) of the Nekata Clan was assigned as the Guardian Summoner of Yokohama near the capitol. There, she proved both far more capable than they would have imagined...amassing a small force of loyal citizens to report to her whatever she wanted to know without ever betraying the truth of her job to them...and more of a hassle than they might have hoped...frequently amassing a rather large sum of collateral damage in the midst of her missions.

Recently, however, she has been more agitated than usual...with messages from the elders of the Yatagarasu expressing their annoyance at her younger brother Nito's decision to up and abscond with the name Kuzunoha from the village to do his own weird thing. Sure, she loved the kid. And yes, she had a softer spot than most of her family did for the goofball, but a joke could go too far...and when it was getting her reprimands all the way over in Yokohama, that was too far. He needed to get his a** back to the village already...or at least do something to get the old crones off of her back.

Personality: Mischievous and playful, overconfident, he is quick to dismiss anyone or anything he deems not to be a threat which can sometimes get he and his sister in trouble. Complains a little, but especially hates that his sister got the slightly better post after graduation...a point they argue often. Loves pranks, playing games, and used to be a running buddy of Nito's in the village. Despite his slight tendency for arrogance, however, he like his sister is not a bad person. His attitude hides a secret disappointment at his own lack of drive and ambition.
Bio: One of the talented twins of the Nekata Clan in the Kuzunoha Village, it became clear early in their training that Nagi and Nami were much more effective as a team than either of them were individually despite their still-more-than-adequate talent. This pegged them both as in-training not for the title of Kuzunoha, but for a master summoner status and guardianship of a Province instead. This was a source both of pride that they had such high expectations at their age, and disappointment that their ultimate goal as summoners of the Kuzunoha Village had been dismissed already. Still, the two of them were proud, and grew up with siblings who almost to-the-last had the talent to do what no one in their family had yet done...become one of the Four Great Summoners. Both Nagi and Nami developed due to this knowledge differently, gaining opposite complexes as a result. Whereas Nagi became overconfident, forcing himself to believe harder than his teachers and yet work a little less hard...Nami began to feel inferior, becoming prickly and sour when her siblings did not live up to the expectations placed upon them.

After graduation the duo were assigned to the Nara Prefecture...with Nami's more-motivated training landing her the slightly-more-authoritative post as Guardian of the Prefecture while the more affable Nagi became Guardian of the City. This is a constant note of strain, teasing, and general disagreement between them as one obviously agrees with the choice and the other does not. Still, they work with an almost-preternatural symbiosis when fighting together...able to put aside disputes to form that functioning unit that made them so highly-respected as summoners. And when Nito disappeared not so long ago, their feelings were similarly divided despite a shared knowledge that one day soon...the two of them might be called upon to bring him home. Nagi had long though of Nito as one who was wasting his talent, but who was generally likable and fun...he would have rather let Nito do as he pleased, since it was harmless and Nito was unlikely (in his mind) to ascend much higher than he already had. Nami, however, was furious...here was a member of their family who was viewed as an individual, who had talents that even the Great Summoners might envy in some areas, and yet he was off gallivanting around making a mockery of their family? No, it wouldn't stand...and she would relish it when the opportunity came to drag him back to see just how foolish his decision had been.[

Personality: Precocious and energetic, mischievous and charismatic, and the most talented young student in the Kuzunoha Village. Aware of his talents, but still looks up to Nito as his hero. Wants to be like him. Mature and very intelligent for his age but still childish enough to drive the elders crazy, Nagamasa most of all. Misses his brother, but supports him and believes wholeheartedly that Nito is the true NEW Kuzunoha, Jakken.
Bio: A precocious youth whose talent was identified at an early age, his affinity with magnetite a revelation within the Nekata Clan; Nagamasa, the family's elder and Nala's eldest brother, began training him personally before he even entered into formal summoner's training. But being forced into such rigorous work at such a young age could make a kid...restless, searching for an outlet, and whenever he wanted to play or escape from his expectations for a while, Nito and Nana were always there for him. They were always willing to play a game, or teach him something...though Nana's lessons were pretty boring (what kid at that age likes reading and scrolls?), Nito's games were always the most fun! And so as a kid, Nito became the boy's hero...even his clothes, his energy, his hardheadedness in doing things his own way were modeled after the village and the clan's black sheep. And he was happy...

It was only after his formal training began that Nito left the village to begin his pilgrimage as the self-proclaimed 'New 4th Kuzunoha', but to Nala, it was the coolest thing he had ever seen anyone do! To make yourself a Kuzunoha?! It wasn't just unheard of, it was illegal, it was unthinkable, and it was awesome! It only reaffirmed his desire to become stronger, to meet his full potential, so that one day he could ascend and claim the title that his brother had created...the great name of Jakken Kuzunoha the Second! But until then, he had work to do in this village...to become strong, and to have as much fun as possible until the day came that his next journey would begin! An ideal to which he would always strive...even if it drove Nagamasa and Nala towards their deathbeds with annoyance.

Personality: Professional but with a badass edge, she maintains her cool demeanor until someone disrespects or pushes her enough to show the fiery, blunt edge that made her such a firebrand back in her days training in the village. Very strongly loyal to her family, fiercely protective of her daughter, and hopelessly in love with her husband who lives in Okina while she lives in Kobe, making the times they can stay together all the more passionate.
Bio: Youngest child of the Main Branch of the Nekata Family, she too became a branch member when her eldest brother took over as an Elder in the Kuzunoha Village. Unlike her other brother, however, she simply trained hard and quickly became a Master, assigned as a guardian near the Supernatural Hotbed for a while (where she met her Husband and had her first child). In recent years, however, the chaos in the supernatural hotbed demanded stronger attention...and when the presence of more Kuzunoha in the region began to become a more regular thing...and her own daughter left for training in a nearby village, she was transferred to another city in desperate need of a Master's watchful eye...Kobe.

There, she lives now and watches over the city with occasional visits from her daughter and to her husband's Yatagarasu Shop back in Okina City. Not blind to the dangers growing throughout the country, she keeps a watchful eye on the messenger birds and the heralds and maintains vigilance for her daughter and husband's safety, certain that her refined veneer would crack into a thousand violent pieces should anyone ever bring harm upon either of them...

Personality: Precious and bright, loving and intelligent, wholly seeking the approval and love of her parents. ...Except when she's at the Kuzunoha Village with her cousins, at which times she and her cousin Nala, the 'Little Devil' of the village, are a terror to deal with. Running around, playing pranks, and generally having the sorts of mischievous fun that little, talented brats do, she reveals that the 'Little Angel' that she is at home is as much a front for her own 'Little Devil' personality as it is the truth.
Bio: Born to Nando and Nono Nekata late into their marriage, there was a real fear between their parents that had grown for a while that despite their desire to have kids, they might never actually be able to have one...so when their daughter Nina was born, they were so overjoyed that they couldn't help treating her like the treasure that she was to them. They showed her overwhelming love, care, and in a lifestyle that rarely catered to such devotion, they made sure that she had anything that her little heart could desire if it was within their power. It might be a bit much to say she was outright spoiled, but she was as close to it as their lifestyle would allow. And she never had any doubt that she was loved...but the adventure that her childish heart desired was hard to come by.

Then, a little over a year ago at Age 5, they visited the Kuzunoha Village...her father's original home...as a family for the very first time. And it was there that she met who would one day become her partner in crime that awakened the mischievous little devil inside of her, Nala. They clicked immediately as fast friends, and were an absolute terror for the village, though nearly all of the heat from their games and pranks landed on Nala as the 'bad influence'. And when they left the village at last, she was sad to be parted from her newest friend...but he had left her with a gift even more precious...an independent spirit. From then on, the 'Little Angel' that her parents raised gave way at times to the hellion in moments when they weren't looking...seeing what pranks and trouble she could get into without getting caught or upsetting her parents (who really were still beyond dear to her for their love)...until the time she could return to the village and start training again, learning more and more ways to have fun from Nala.

Personality: One half of the terrifying bash-brothers of the Future Nekata Clan, they share the mischief and severity of their respective parents Nagi and Nami (and their respective spouses in Bad Future). Constant rivals and partners in crime. The prize their family above all, and feel a responsibility to protect any world they visit that is not their own to prevent a similar apocalypse from striking it. Quick to tease, to laugh, to poke fun even at themselves, they live life to the fullest, but are just the wrong type of vicious to make you think twice about crossing them. Kou is a little more patient and thoughtful than his 'twin', Kyou, and perhaps a better strategist mid-battle and prior to battle. His ability to improvise to the best tactic in a fight on the fly is excellent, but in an evenly-matched fight he's not quite as unpredictable as his brother. He hits more accurately, more surely, and is a touch swifter, if no less brutal when enraged. Touch their 'sisters' and despair.
Bio: Born into the crummy world of Bad Future to a quartet of parents (Kyou's father Nagisa Nekata, Kou's mother Namiee Nekata, and their respective spouses) on the run from the end of the world, Kou and Kyou Nekata were an inseparable pair from the time they knew how to crawl and gurgle out words. Their first words were 'brother' and the other's name, and the first thing they learned how to do once they began to walk and talk was to fight...and they learned to fight together, to make mischief together, and eventually, to bring untold pain to any foolish person who dared to imaging bringing harm or discomfort upon the little sister born not so long after them (although with time, it was Kyouko who perhaps became the most terrifying of the trio). Their sharp wits and devilish personalities made them an instant hit and terror anywhere that their families went, and even when their families had managed to make their way back home to the Kuzunoha Village after years and years of being trapped with a world of Corrupted between them...that part of them never changed.

What did change, however, was their sense of duty...which had always solely been reserved to their own family, now it was split between family and the village that they all had spent generations protecting that was now on its last legs against the overwhelming tide of the Corrupted pressing against its borders. Their Uncle Nagamasa had done all that he could for years and years since the world first ended, but his time of being able to hold it all back was slowly coming to an end. And the village was soon to inevitably fail. Once again, their lives were about to be thrown into turmoil, and the two of them forced to go on the run. But lives spent wandering without roots, seeing that their family would not leave this place again, the brothers (technically cousins, but after growing up together, so close, they considered themselves to be twins and Evie and their sister to be twins and would be damned to let anybody else tell them different) made their own choice as well...to allow for Evie and Naal to escape the Village as they fought, for Nala to get them out...and then, to die in the Village that had finally become their home.

All of that mischief stayed with them as the tide broke and threatened to consume them. They smiled and laughed at the absurdity of it all, but fought like they were possessed by Gemini, the twin gods themselves, and cut through their enemies in a way that was borderline dance and borderline brutality. They fought, and even as they were overwhelmed they began to fall back and fought some more, shielding their powerful sister any time that she threatened to fall. But with time, they began to wear down...and the village was all but lost. Their death was nigh-upon them. And that was when their Uncle made his last sacrifice...thanking them for allowing his only daughter to escape, for standing as a True Nekata until the end...he cast a spell and transported them far from the Village, as far as he could send them with what little power remained. It wasn't far...but it was enough. And he sent them with a single message...

"Find Nito..."

...But what became of them after? What of the world that had been left behind? The village? Their Uncle Nito that they had been told to find? Those are secrets that they rarely speak about. Dark times...hard times. But together with each other, and their sister...they have come out from the other side of time into a new world, alive. And oh, the stories they could tell...if they would.

Personality: Just like her brothers, Kyouko has that mischief and playfulness embedded in her veins that was passed down from her father. She has a sweet aura about her, her gentle and pretty looks making people to lower their defenses around the girl. But they are just that: looks. If truth be told, she’s probably the most terrifying of the three siblings, viciously protecting her family while looking cute. She uses this in her advantage, enjoying seeing unknowing fools playing coy with her, just seconds before she wrecks them, leaving them in a weeping heap on the ground. Family is really important to her, just like all the Nekata family, and she would give anything for any of them. She is quick to anger, but she’s fast to forgive and forget…unless the slight was something that would hurt her brothers or her ‘twin’.
Bio: Second daughter of Nagisa Nekata, Kyouko grew up surrounded by loving parents, and protective brothers. She always saw Kou as a brother, the trio becoming inseparable as the years passed. As a girl, Kyouko always looked up to them, hiding behind them as they went on with their mischief, playfully terrorizing every place in their wake. She was a sweet girl, easy to laugh, easy to cry, but slowly she took in everything they were willing to teach her.

At the village, she learned how to stand on her own, seeing Evie as the ‘twin’ she was missing...Just like her brother had one. And when the village was about to fall, Kyouko fought hard to protect her family and the people in the village. She had made up her mind, just like her brothers had, to stay behind to allow Evie and Naal to escape. In the end, their uncle Nagamasa gave them a final mission…to find Uncle Nito.

And so they did.
