When she asked, Malodore felt the curiosity behind the question - curiosity about more than just Shehk's identity. Insanity, we believe, damages the core of one's being... much like how the transition from a living species to a made-undead damages the core. Memory loss is very common. Shehk has experienced this herself, personally. An image of the pricolici accompanied its statement, Shehk first in her human and then natural form.
It paused before speaking again. But you are here, now... it repeated. A flicker of fear rose inside it, that she would feel dying would have been better... but it took control of itself firmly, so that the emotions would not spill over onto her.
It glanced up at Jericho to make it clear to the dragon that it had been speaking mind-to-mind. It felt helpless, though, but... truly, was this a problem that it needed to fix? It could not fix it. At all. It could only work to prevent a recurrence.
All it could do was be here and hold her as she wept. "Whatever is needed, I will do my utmost to provide it for you," it whispered.

The student council they kept mentioning seemed to be entirely populated by people that were considered 'friends'. She knew what that meant - she held ultimate control over the grouping. It brought her some small solace to know she was headed in the right direction. And Malodore's explanation of Shehk's memory loss made the pricolici that much more valuable. Another like herself, with an understanding of what it means to lose that which made one whole. She nodded at the information, and let it linger in the back of her mind.
But she was here now, and as Illithid went, a memory loss was only a loss if one could not regain the information other ways. She was surrounded, both physically and emotionally, by people who adored her. There was no further reason to weep, with such helpful fountains of knowledge.
I am here now. She echoed, turning her head up to Malodore and brushing against it's beak accidentally with her face. And what I need, you are providing. I will slowly re-acquire my memories from you all, and then all will be as it was.
But the ache in her heart, the one she couldn't understand, told her otherwise. There was something no memory could give her.. and it was that something that the Illithid had invented mindwipe to eliminate. It was that something that she now craved, despite her desires going against everything she was taught.
There was something missing.
She fell quiet, but no longer wept for her loss. Now, she just soaked up the attention the two who coddled her into a cocoon between them were giving her.
For now, it was enough.
