Although a pokemon trainer, Tymiko wasn't very up-to-date wit the latest technology, celebrities, and public appearances. As a traveler and a lover of the outdoors, she hardly spent much time indoors, which meant little time watching TV or having much exposure to social media at all. Thus she was not aware of who was who as she started people-watching, more interested in the textures, colors, and materials that people decorated themselves with rather than the people themselves.
One face she did recognize, however. She couldn't name from where - maybe long ago, when she had still lived at home. Her brows furrowed as she lost the man in the crowd, but she immediately hopped to her feet to give pursuit, careful to keep her hat on her head.
Yes, that was definitely a face she'd seen before. A little less...healthy-looking, perhaps from the stress of being some important company president, but still most certainly a familiar face. She didn't think she'd ever seen him in real life before, though, because he was taller than most people she'd known. Unlike other celebrities, the memories she had of him from television had made him seem smaller than life.
Lingering nearby once she caught up to him, the girl did her best not to be conspicuous. She watched him amid the throng of people, wondering if she could hear who he was through snippets of conversation.

[Ivory]
He wasn't aiming to embarrass her, Yuri was merely speaking the truth, but his smile widened when he saw the blush. Amusement glittering in his dark eyes as Ivory then made her proposal. If one would notice, the tall man and the young girl were quite the contrast. With Ivory being so pale of complextion with white hair and dress, while Yuri was almost consumed by black and other dark tones.
"All right, its a deal then."
And as if on cue, another tray went floating past and Yuri reached out to pluck a couple of hors d'oeuvres from it. One for himself and one for Ivory. He passed the one along to her while popping the other in his mouth.
"Huh, not bad," he admitted while chewing rather impolitely.

As the little stalker approached, she could indeed hear some snippets of conversation that mostly involved business and other boring things. However, there was the occasional mention of a "Mr. Kaiba" when referring to the man himself.
Despite his less then peak state, Seth was not unaware of his surroundings and felt a pair of eyes on him. He finished his conversation of small talk with one of the guests before turnings and directing his cool blue gaze downward at a small girl who seemed to be tailing him.
He merely stared, letting her know that he had spotted her. And while she might have recognized him, he had no clue who she was.

The girl blinked and pondered the name Kaiba, staring off into nothing as she got lost in thought. Kaiba, Kaiba...why is that name so familiar? she wondered. Ah-ha! Kaiba Corperation! So does that mean he's the - ACK!
As her vision came back into focus, Ty froze, realizing the man was staring right back at her. Oops. She probably should have been more...discreet about her staring off into the distance.
"U-uh...hi...Mr. Kaiba, sir," she uttered meekly, holding up a small hand in greeting. The other she used to self-consciously pull her fedora down over her face. If only she could have disappeared under it.

When the girl realized she had been caught red handed, Seth continued to stare for a few moments longer. Her stuttering just brought a huff before he turned around again and started to meander back into the crowd. He didn't have time for shy little girls after all.

Well. That was rude. Had he even heard her? Normally she wasn't so quiet, but he'd startled her.
"HEY!" she called, running after him in her boys' clothes, making an effort this time to sound...deeper. Little boys had higher voices too, didn't they? Well, she guessed she was on the verge of teenagehood...but her heart-shaped, round face made her look youthful enough.
"KAIBA! I WAS TALKING TO YOU!" Not bothering with who stared or turned to glance their way, the child pushed through the crowd to follow after the business man.

[Claire]
Aulus was not comfortable. He hated fancy things like this, and hated the fancy clothes even more. He'd borrowed a black tux with a black waistcoat and a black tie, black dress shoes as well. They fitted him pretty well, and he supposed he looked alright, though one person had already addressed him as though he was part of the security force. He had reacted to this with his usual diplomacy, i.e. he had told the lady exactly what she could stick, and where she could stick it, and also that he suspected her mother of having sexual relations with a Grunpig.
He didn't enjoy this kind of fancy party but... well Claire was going and he'd wanted to go with her. He was sure he'd forget about all the stupid fancy people and the stupid clothes once he located her. In the meantime he acquired himself a glass of something alcoholic and bubbly, and some kind of weird posh snack thing. H’orderve, probably, bloody ponsy s**t, and the waitress gave him a weird look when he asked what was vegetarian.
Eventually however he spotted her, and vicious thoughts about smashing in idiots’ faces drifted out of his mind. He fished off the whatever it was he was eating and took another sip of his drink before running his tongue over his teeth behind his lips to make sure he didn’t have anything stuck to his teeth. This was the first time they’d done anything fancy together, first time they’d done anything off base together since....
Anyway, there was nothing to be nervous about. He wasn’t nervous... or at least not as nervous as he had been their first couple of dates. He still felt as if he had a swarm of butterfree in his stomach but it was a good sort of a feeling, excited rather than terrified. Mainly. There was still a distinct possibility that he would mess this evening up somehow, that was always at the back of his mind. Pushing his fingers through his hair (brushed, for once) Aulus set off through the crowds towards Claire.

[Tambrey, Rory, Ally]
"Good evening," Kratos said, politely greeting the...rather distracted man before him. It was interesting, sometimes, to see how people interacted with each other. It wasn't something that he had much of a preference for, but he knew that most humans were social creatures, and that interaction was not so much a societal requirement as a natural drive and need... especially when it involved someone the individual found attractive, which was clearly what was going on with the blond and - Ally, was it?
He didn't have very much to say to try and contribute to this small conversation, but neither did the redhead feel it necessary that he speak overmuch. If he had something worth saying, he would say it - but for now, he was content to simply observe unless addressed. You learned much more important information by listening than you did by speaking; he'd believed this for a very long time and had never been proven wrong yet.
Casting another glance around at the gathered crowd, his gaze picked out the pale and rather worn-looking form of one CEO, but didn't bother seeking him out. Social functions like this weren't done for the sheer amusement factor, especially by someone with minimal to no free time, and he wasn't going to involve himself in distracting another from their reasons for being here. Instead, he returned his focus to the small group he was 'chatting' with, for lack of a better term.

He couldn't remember the last time he'd been to something this posh, but he had to admit that as the day had got closer he'd been getting excited. Fancy wasn't really his thing in general but that didn't mean he especially objected to it, just that he couldn't usually be bothered to go to all the effort of prettying himself up.
Tonight was special though, hopefully the start of something important. The official start of it anyway, things has started more than a year ago with a band of mismatched trainers calling on Mr. Stone's help. It felt more like a lifetime ago, they'd travelled so far since then and gained a great deal of strength and experience with their pokemon.
Tonight was not just about the league and serious business though, it was about pleasure too.
He'd got a suit tailored.
Really he hadn't had a lot of choice; places that hired out tuxedos certainly offered his size in circumfernece, but not in length. So, anyway, some of the girls had taken him to a tailor and he'd pretty much been told to stand still and be quiet. The end result of the whole affair fitted him like a dream, which was only to be expected given what he'd paid for it. He looked good in it though, or at least he thought he did.
The suit was warm grey, and cut to flatter his broad build. A grey waistcoat matched it in colour, but was adorned subtly with embroidered diamonds in thread of the same colour. The shirt was white, and finished off with a simply tied light pink cravat. Pale pink, apparently, suited him rather well; maybe he'd have to get a shirt in the colour at some point. New shoes had been deemed required as well, but in the end it had ended up being a smart new pair of ankle boots because they hadn't been able to find any nice shoes in his size. He really had made an effort for this evening, he'd even taken the time to tame his wild hair into sleek golden ringlets that hung loose to just past his shoulders. All in all he was feeling pretty good about tonight. He was also feeling pretty good about the gold triforce cufflinks currently hidden by the sleeves of his jacket.
Sauntering into the party grounds and parting the crowds like an oblivious cruise liner passing through a shoal of fish, Dith acquired a drink for himself and cast around for somebody he knew.... One person in particular he had to admit. He'd seen most of his trainer buddies earlier and knew who was and was not coming along, but he hadn't seen Nadja in ages. He had sent her a text asking if she was coming, and she had responded positively. She was here somewhere, or would be at some point, and he wanted to find her!

(Rory, Kratos, Ally)
Oh, frak, pointing out /her/ outfit now... Compliments though, (even if, as Tam' might have suspected, borne out of some simple politeness) were kind of nice. "Uh... Thanks." She smiled at Ally and looked over the redhead's dress again, to make it slightly obvious. A smirk was thrown to Rory too, for his compliment. "But this thing's just... y'know... borrowed. That dress, though, does look perfectly stunning; Rory's fun reaction there, 's a pretty apt one." She complimented in return.
Kratos was, then, as Tam' was beginning to learn, his usual quiet self; it seemed almost like he and Frost might get along. She suspected, perhaps, that without Miette around, he might have lost his main conversation starter for the night. Still, she couldn't help but tease a little and apparently was keen to have him at least get to know the others a bit as well. Humour was good for that, she thought. "All this complimentin' eachother... Y' look great too, Kratos." Well, it was teasing, but she wasn't being untruthful.
Her own subtle glances to the crowd, as she remembered she was supposed to be noting things for a report, revealed a couple of familiar faces, but most notably Aulus... In fancy stuff. She smirked and resolved that she'd have to venture that way at some point.

[Tymiko]
That was Seto Kaiba for you. Most of the people that knew him would agree that he was indeed rather rude sometimes. He continued on, noticing that the kid followed him like a stalker. A very loud and obnoxious stalker.
He growled in annoyance and stopped in his tracks to turn around and glare down at Tymiko. "WHAT?!" he bellowed impatiently, wondering what this pipsqueak could possibly want with him. His temper was rather short at the moment, especially since he could feel a migraine coming on.
The shouting drew some stares and he frowned, straightening himself up and trying to be more calm. "What do you want?"

On the whole, Nadja preferred to spend her free time in more intimate settings, with a dog and a book and a comfortable sweater. But this.. since the first headlines' advent she'd felt old emotions, banked fires stirring to an influx of air. This was no time to sit idle and follow the action from afar. She would be there, observing, as a beachhead was made on the shore.
On a less warlike note, there was the matter of the dress.
It was a draped chiffon affair in pearly purple pulled over a coffee brown modesty foundation that left the shoulders bare, its irregular hem meant to flutter in a warm breeze to the click of kitten heels. She'd purchased it just before leaving for.. what? Nothing anymore; it had hung in her closet in its original garment bag, a rustling reminder of decisions long past.
Well.
Old things found new purpose.
Cascading clusters of tiny freshwater pearls falling from her ears and wrist, Nadja tucked a strand of coppery hair into place and kept an attentive ear tuned to the conversations around her while she engaged with a man - a minor city official happy to discuss the setup of the event, because no one ever appreciated the amount of work that went into these things, but the price of the catering must be worth the announcement the League officials would make, sure it would be along any minute, no harm in letting the food and drink flow a little longer. Might make the crowd more receptive to what the League would say, don't you think?
That had been five minutes ago. Now she knew far more about the intricacies of ordering a thousand eggrolls than she'd ever thought necessary.
"An essential skill often forgotten," Nadja agreed, curving her lips in a clandestine smile behind her champagne flute. "You're a good man to have on the ground here, Councillor- oh." Her shaped brows raised in slight surprise, as if she'd only just seen the individual standing head and shoulders above the rest of the crowd. Literally. "It would seem my friend has arrived - would you excuse me?"
Thankfully, he would.
Winnowing out the useful information from the chaff as she went, the redhead approached the waistcoated mountain, noting his searching looks. "Dima," she spoke when she was close enough, a touch of pleasure tinging her liquid murmur.
A dim red glow passed from lantern to lantern above, watching her go.

[Nadja]
She had a nice voice. It was a thought that occurred to him more often than it probably ought to these days. Turning around Dith offered the svelte woman a warm welcoming grin. //Nadja, good to see you!// he exclaimed, dropping comfortably into Russian. //Very impressive party they're putting on, isn't it?... You look fantastic tonight.// She really did. Elegant, classy, all those good sorts of words. //I like your pearls.// And the dress, and everything, but the final finishing touches like the earrings and bracelet were just so... well, elegant, and Nadja, and things like that.

[Ally, Kratos, & Tambrey]
Kratos was looking at him funny, Tambrey was smirking and poking fun at him. He just knew he was never going to live this down. What was going on with him tonight?
He grabbed another glass of champagne from one of the passing waiters and took a sip, hoping it would calm his nerves. "Reaction's not funny if it's accurate. Any guy would be insane not to react like that around a gorgeous girl."
Maybe it was the alcohol making him feel all warm and fuzzy? It had been awhile since he had any form of liquor. As a waiter passed with an empty tray, the blond set his glass on it and vowed not to take another drink from them for the rest of the night.
Out of curiosity, and to gain a bit of intel like he was supposed to be doing, he scanned the crowd, taking in all of the people, and looking for anyone else that he might know.

All these complements! The hell was she going to do with them? She wasn’t used to this kind of attention and resorting to denial seemed like it was making it worse. Rory’s last complement made the blush return and she looked at her feet, suddenly finding them fascinating. Those little green bows did match her dress right? Of course they did! Wait, wasn’t she supposed to be doing something? Like observing the area around her? Yeah! That was it! Sadly, she couldn’t see anyone even with her thick heels on.
She was still height-challenged it seems. No matter, people can see for her so she doesn’t have to do any work right now. However, she did catch the name of the other red head and waved to him. Kratos was it? He was kinda…cute? Why did she just feel wrong thinking that? Oh well, she’ll figure it out later…Why was Rory chugging that champagne like it was water? All these questions were making her head hurt …
“T-Thanks guys. I really appreciate it. So, why isn’t anything happening? It’s kind of boring here…Y-You look nice too Rory, If I didn’t say that before…” That damnable blush of hers was making her look redder. Guess it doesn’t care about how it makes her already obvious freckles stand out or the fact that it would clash horribly with her hair. Nope, it was jut going to keep on being there and she couldn’t do anything about it...
If something didn’t happen soon, she was going to have a fit, and maybe flip some random tables.
