Post 319 Luckily for Chael, he hadn't actually used the word 'cute'. It took Chael a few moments to answer Nolan's question. "I've been thinking about being a Pokemon Professor actually. So I want to try raising a bunch of different Pokemon while I can." he answered. Besides he had a total of fourteen Pokemon as of now. Honestly, it wasn't that much. Unfortunately for Nolan, his team had been predetermined from the very start by the powers that be. Call it fate, divine dictation, or whatever, but Nolan was going to end up exactly with what he was given. Not that he was complaining, and instead he was considering what it meant to be a pokemon professor. He was soon smiling and nodding, "That's ... that's pretty cool. Just think, you'd also get to give out all the new Starter pokemon to the newbies. Is there any specific field of study you'd go into? You know, like how Professor Elm is about Evolution and stuff?" Remembering something, Nolan spoke up again, "But you hey, you never answered me about what you think about my ideas for a nickname for Aron." Nolan winced a little, continuing, "Are they all really that bad? I could think up some new ones instead." Post 320 "That's Professor Rowan." Chael corrected ", Professor Elm studies breeding." The reason he caught so many Pokemon was because 'fate' was finicky about his team. Always changing and about as loyal as a republican senator while his wife is away. "I'll probably hand out Eevee's." he mused, looking at Tsuki and Hikari sitting by each other near the fire. Awwwh. He looked back at Nolan and said "I might study at Valerians." The boy added a shrug for effect. "Honestly, if Godzilla was the first thing that popped in your mind, why not name him that? Or some other movie monster." Chael suggested. Of course Godzilla was played by a Tyranitar. And Mothra was played by Venomoth or Volcarona. Now Nolan was just all confused overall, and his expression told it. "Um, anyway, I don't really want to call him Godzilla, because he's not. Well, not Godzilla, I mean. I'll think about it more, but now I'm leaning towards calling him Aggrodon. I think Aggro would be funny to call him for short." Aron glanced over at Nolan, deciding his own nickname for the human who had his pokeball. 'I think I'll name him Bob.''He already has a name, it's Nolan.' Servine retorted. 'Oh, I like that one more. It's not a bad. Did you name him?'Servine rolled her eyes, but feeling mischievous, answered with a nod, 'Yes.'"Hey!" Nolan perked back up with what he thought was a pretty good idea. Aron looked at Servine questioningly after hearing what the Umbreon had to say. She had a snappy comeback, nose in the air again. 'I'm not lying. We call him Nolan for short. Besides, everyone likes Nolan better, because Tsuki is horrible at naming humans.'Aron nodded, sky-blue eyes closing, accepting that answer. But then he asked, 'What have you all named the other human? The shorter one?'Servine laughed, ribbing Tsuki, 'Stinky Brains.'Nolan glanced over at his pokemon, wondering again what they were talking about. But he couldn't tell one bit, except that they kept glancing over in his and Chael's direction. "What does Montressor stand for? Oh hey, and are you hungry yet? The lady in the cafeteria gave me some hot dogs and marshmallows to roast." That was when he planned to see what was at Route 5. He still wanted to check that place out, even if he wasn't planning to catch anything. '... why are you showing me what's up your nose?' Glaring daggers, Servine had tried to stoop down to their level of humor, but now she just wished she never did associate with these ... plebeians. Snorting, she crossed her arms, turning away and letting them get a good look at her rump as well, her tail high in the air. 'Simpletons.'Aron was just confused, but shrugged his little shoulders and trotted over to Nolan to get one of those hotdogs he had started roasting over the fire. Nolan was trying to remember if he had ever read that book, but had to shake his head, feeling like a total rube again. "I haven't ever read that. I'll probably just stick with Aggrodon. Do you like that okay, Aron?" Nolan patted the steel armor of the Aron, but all the iron-eater was interested in was eating some of those hot dogs, nuzzling his elbow. Nolan complied and put a dog down on a rock, remembering not to put his fingers near his mouth. Aron crunched the rock, hot dog and all in a few bites. "What's the book about?" So during a carnival, he invites him to his basement, where he says he has this huge thing of alcohol. And then, while he's drunk, Montressor chains him to a small room in the basement and blocks the exit, by putting up bricks. The end." Chael said, in a matter of fact tone. "Of course other stuff happens, but that's the fifteen second summery." Believe it or not it was actually a good book. The boy was fond of old books like that. "So why'd you give that guy Gage most of your Pokemon?" Chael asked. He felt kind of bad for the Pokemon now, especially the Swellow. If that was the fifteen second summary, not only did Nolan not exactly want to read that book, but neither did he want to name his pokemon after a murderer. No matter how bad that other guy was. Swallowing hard, Nolan just fed another hot dog to Aron. He did look up again though when Chael asked him about his pokemon. "Oh Gage? He said he would give my pokemon to rookie trainers in Blyse, to the nice ones. I didn't want to just stay and sit in Blyse for days trying to find someone to adopt them, and ... well, I didn't want to get caught up in all of that. I can't stand it if I have a pokemon in the PC Box. It still feels like someone is missing. Like there's a hole, and nothing will be the same until I get Valor back." Nolan paused, looking up towards the sky and the slowly setting sun. "I feel a connection to all my pokemon, and I don't think I could handle having half of my friends in a PC Box half the time. Aron is the last minute add on, but the rest? I want them to find good trainers who will always have time for them. I can barely take care of seven, and myself." Nolan laughed a little, "You don't have that problem at all, do you? You know your mom will take out your pokemon and play with them. My parents don't really have the time, because they're out taking care of a pokemon that really need it. Besides, if I didn't give my pokemon away, I would have just released them so they could get back to being free." Post 324 Chael had always thought his mother volenteering at the Daycare was taking care of Pokemon who needed it. But he ignored the comment, it being unintentional. "The guy seems too shady for me." he said, sounding like it was somewhat of an understatement when he responded to his comment about Gage. Of course, convincing Nolan how he really acted would be no short job. From what Chael saw, Gage had him convinced he was a nice, caring guy. "What made you keep your Ninjask if you weren't going to keep him as a permanent team member?" Chael asked as he sat down to face the fire. Post 325 It started to get dark again. It felt nice outside now at least, with the fire and the sleeping bag he was sitting on. Cross cross apple sauce style. Plato returned from the water. The world around the fossil Pokemon seemed alienated. Of course it was different than from what he would've been in, had he not been fossilized. Tomorrow would be a big day. Post 326 Well the night set in, and Chael was wide awake as planned. Staying up during the night before seemed to help. His Pokemon walked over as he asked "So, since we're planning to travel at night, any plans?" Of course, he had training his Pokemon all to level 39 in plan. Except Hikari, since that'd take too long. But he wanted to level her up to 29 so she would learn Bite. An Espeon who knew that would be a surprise indeed. He was looking around for a good Pokemon to study. Something hard to find, because let's face it, those were the ones that were hardly looked at. They needed to be studied since less was known about them. That and they'd make a good trade.
