Dizzian hadn't even noticed the other bondings as she fed Courath. It felt strange finally putting to use lessons she'd been taught over and over again for 6 turns. Courath wasn't hard to feed though. The young green was well in control of herself, carefully considering each piece before chewing and swallowing. ~ You are doing fine. There's no need to fear me choking with you. ~ She kept an eye on her siblings as she ate, crooning encouragement to the slender blue as he joined them at the tables. Hermith and Gementh were also acknowledged after finding theirs.
Dizzian hadn't even realized she'd been worrying about it until she felt the knot of anxiety unwind in her chest. She was still in her own little bubble of joy, now encompassing Courath as she slowly got used to the feeling of her senses extended, as if the dragonet wasn't a separate entity but rather a part of her own body. Had either of her parents ever ridden dragons they never would have considered flits an adequate substitute. Her two were still in the flock above them, focused on the rest of the eggs rather than Dizzian.
"Yes of course heart of mine. Courath..." She couldn't get enough of saying the green's name. As if it were just another dream. A stab of panic pierced her heart as the thought occured to her. Was this a dream?! It wouldn't be the first time she'd had such! Dizzian's eyes grew wide with fear as she looked into Courath's face. "Don't go..." She breathed, her hands clenching the green hide fearfully.
~ DizzianMine this is no dream. I am here for you. You won't be left behind again. Don't fear mine!~ There was no flustering this young one. Even through her rider's panic she remained calm, reassuring the trembling young woman and rubbing her face into the soft fabric of Dizzian's robes.
Dizzian hugged Courath, shivering as she tried to fight past that fear, letting Courath's soft words flow through her being. "I couldn't bear it Courath. Now that we've found each other...Now that you're here I couldn't bear being without you!" She spasmed as she felt Courath pull away. The pale green just placed her claws in Dizzian's lap and nudged her chin up.
~ Stand tall DizzianMine. You are better than this fear. I won't leave you. You know this. ~ She gestured with her head back to the buckets of meat. The subject was over and Dizzian should continue to feed her.
Still shaking Dizzian nodded. Of course she knew this. Courath could no more be without her as she could without the green. Without words she knew Courath was done with that topic. Dizzian resumed her feeding, pondering in silence for a while. "Should I shorten my name for you? Dizzian....it's a bit of a mouthful. D'zian? No that's not much better... D'zzi maybe?"
Courath eyed her rider, contemplating her answer while she chewed. ~ If you feel you must. It is up to you. You are Dizzian and Mine and that's all that should matter. ~ She took the next offered piece, her focus more on her meal as Dizzian calmed down.
"I like hearing you say my name..." Dizz didn't particularly want to change it but had Courath wanted it she would do so gladly. As is she would remain Dizzian for now.

Yay, all four of the dragons that had hatched had Impressed! heart So that meant ten left then? Roeline watched the latest pair walk off towards the feeding tables for a moment before turning her attention back onto the remaining eggs. Hm... which egg would hatch next... She was still very much hopeful that this clutch would have a happy ending and all find Theirs. The alternative was just too sad to think about.

Cetalese had been excited to hear the hum that indicated the second Hatching had begun. She'd thought several times about the size of the Clutch and the size of the eggs in it, but dragons were dragons, and Trine held little color bias when compared to some of the older weyrs. Cetalese had only had rare occasion to see it with her Green, and for her personally, she saw no difference in colors except the types of people to which they often Impressed.
However, in the first quickly-moving part of the Hatching, Cetalese noticed that there were a great many Greens about and only one Blue. The majority of the Clutch was likely to be the same, with maybe a Brown thrown in (although Cetalese didn't put too much stock in that idea at this point). She observed everything calmly and quietly as she always did, mentally acknowledging Candidates and hatchlings alike.
N'var's abrupt shout drew Cetalese's attention, and she smiled with tolerance and restricted joy at seeing N'var's excitement for his sister's Impression. Cetalese had thought it was Kytara out there. She turned her attention back to the Hatching, not wanting to miss anything, her thoughts already moving on.
It's supposed to be bad luck to open the Hatching with a Green, Cetalese commented, watching the insistent little Green find her partner and march her off to the feeding tables. A small smile touched Ceta's face as she was reminded of Halith's own particular way of getting Cetalese to feed her.
And it was such a short time ago, too.
But I have grown a great deal since then. I am not so small, anymore, and we are Wingriders now. We have taken on the responsibilities they won't get to yet. Though we still have a few more "adult" responsibilities to experience, Halith pointed out, her tone decidedly suggestive.
Cetalese ignored the faint, nervous clenching of her stomach and sighed with resignation. And yet you haven't changed a bit.
Halith snorted good-naturedly, and resisted a bugle only because she knew Cetalese had asked her not to before they had arrived. Sometimes you need a little fun, Cetalese! No sense in holding back and lying around when you can be doing things! That Green had the right of it.
Cetalese turned her attention back to the Sands, not wanting to miss any other Impressions.

More eggs rocked and cracked now, a handful seemed ready to burst at any second. Indeed, two did - the Caught-in-the-Surge Egg and the Gleaming Egg but the latter's entrance far overshadowed the former's. The Gleaming egg revealed a starkly coloured dragon who bugled before even completely leaving the egg, using his very first breath to let the world know he was there. Loud and on the large end of the spectrum from the clutch, this blue shook himself without enough energy to leave himself dizzy.
Stumbling into an awkward sitting position the burble of sound could not be mistaken for anything but laughter - laughter his brother merely made a nearly inaudible sound at. Also a blue, the dragon from the Caught-in-the-Surge egg rustled his wings and went over to nose his sibling, making sure he was alright.

E'lai winced at S'ren's teasing. "Not too much, but only because she'd just gotten her breakfast, thank goodness." Had he left her hungry, not even Brakiath's state would have prevented the foolhardy little firelizard queen from making her displeasure known. "So long as the Hatching doesn't stretch into her next meal, we should be spared that kind of disruption."
Lena chuckled, assuming the riders beside her were speaking of a firelizard, and watched the bossy green half march Hers off the Sands towards the food. Handful indeed~ As did the newest entrance - well, the loudest of the newest entrances. Was that blue laughing? How terribly amusing! This set of similarly colored dragons didn't have a bad vibe the way the greens might've gone, had the sleepy green taken exception to the bossier one. The quieter blue seemed to want to make sure the slightly clumsy blue was managing all right. Hopefully the loud one wouldn't trip over the Candidates as well, or that might be very problematic...

The last green to Impress had worried her a bit, but Nawa had made sure to keep well out of the way, and one more dragonet walked off the sands without any real incident. This was good, this was very good...maybe there wouldn't be any incidents at all?
More eggs began to hatch, and she peered past another candidate to get a look at them, admiring them from a distance. Two more blues! The first was clearly a happy sort, while the other seemed like he might be less amused, but checked on his brother anyway. She smiled a little as she watched them, glad that they seemed in relatively good humor.

"Have any of the recent Hatchings actually lasted that long?" S'ren replied, amused by the other's answer. "I don't think we'll have to worry about this going until lunch time." Especially at the rate that these hatchlings were popping out. As it was two more blues just made their way onto the Sands-- one of which was noticeably louder than the other. He seemed to have quite a bit of personality there. "Have either of you eaten yet today?" He knew he was certainly going to be grabbing some breakfast once all of this was over, but he wasn't certainly if E'lai had gotten any food for himself while feeding Kirel. as it was, poor Ruby was going to have to fend for herself until this was over.

Ailin recalled the Gleaming Egg vividly. The memory of it's touching echoed in his mind. It's bold entrance didn't surprise him in the least. Just from what he'd seen so far he assumed the blues would head towards the boys. Seeing as only one had come their way so far though Ailin was starting to forget that he was anything more than a spectator at this Hatching. The tension and anxiey began to drain from his shoulders.
Ailin wasn't at the front of the pack of boys but his height allowed him to see clearly over the shoulders of those in front of him. The Caught-in-the-surge egg produced another blue. He also recalled that hatchling. Little brother's indeed. He'd heard blues referred to as such and being one himself he could see the likeness in both of those currently on the sands.

Oh wow, what a handsome blue! Roeline remembered that egg quite well from the Touching-- he'd been so friendly! It was nice to see the mystery dragonet out and about, and it seemed he was quite as vocal outside of the egg as he had been in. And he was laughing! How cute! Roeline was positively gleeing. Aaaah, must stay still, must stay still... How was it that anyone could stand to stay still in the face of such adorable dragon babies? ... Oh right, Brakiath. Hnng. ... Even the quiet blue was oh-so-cute. Hm, I wonder what Saffy's up to... It might be easier to stay in place if she thought of things other than the awesomeness of the Hatching taking place right before her.

Ho-hum...more greens, more blues. Pipith yawned pointedly, as bored with this Hatching as ever. There was no gold to look forward to watching hatch, not like the last time, and not that he really remembered that, anyway. The greens would be interesting later, when they were older, but for now he couldn't care less. His attention quickly drifted from the hatchlings to Cepheith, his very favorite gold. Of course, she was the only gold he'd ever spent any real measure of time with, but still.
He considered speaking to her, but Set'al advised that she likely had other things on her mind at the moment, and so he merely crooned.

Cetalese leaned forward to look around some of the spectators in front of her, wanting to see the new pair on the sands. A handsome pair of Blues at opposite ends of the spectrum in both color and temperament. She admired the beautiful markings on both, knowing Halith wouldn't mind; she wasn't the jealous type, and she knew that Cetalese was hers and hers alone.
It was a matter of time to see if the Blues would Impress as quickly as the majority of their Green siblings had. Cetalese took a moment to search the audience for familiar faces, but only managed to catch sight of a few familiar dragons. Their riders were clearly in the Stands somewhere, but though Cetalese tried to spot D'lin, Eliza, or even Optheli, there were simply too many people, riders and otherwise, attending the Hatching.

Akaya nodded to S'koi's comment, wishing the best for all the new dragon hatchlings as well. The new blues were really quite lovely, and she found herself smiling at the louder blue's antics. "I think Sleeth may have a brother from another mother," she said wryly. Laughing dragons, singing dragons...perhaps the blue would choose a rider who might be persuaded to try the choir experiment...?

The loud blue chirruped at his brother and stood, snorting with amusement and good humor and wagged his tail then took off at a run towards the boys. It was the galloping excitement of an individual happy to do what he was doing but he didn't really slow down as he bounded through the boys and tackled one at random. He rumbled and chirruped at the boy then bounded away, apparently having only wanted to say really close.
Less enthusiastic about the whole affair, the other dragon nonetheless also bounded over but instead of knocking people over, he seemed to place himself to brace those the other blue accidentally bowled over while earnestly looking at the boys.
It was hard to tell if the other blue was looking at boys or just seeing all the boys.

Selene smiled as she watched the blues interact. As smile graced her face as the inhabitant of the Gleaming Egg seemed to be laughing. He did seem as lively as she had thought during the Touching. His brother seemed calmer and much more like a parent in a sense. It made her happy to know that this hatching was going rather well and that none of the hatchlings so far have gotten into a fight.

Was that how it was going to go this time? Blues to the boys and greens to the girls? It was a notion that pleased Nawa greatly - it did seem very proper, after all, even if she did know by now that the blues and greens weren't picky about gender...or about other things she preferred not to think about.
Regardless, she was very happy that the enthusiastic blue was safely over there tackling boys, not over here tackling girls. Even if he wasn't hurting anyone, she did not want to be knocked down in the sand.
