Cara spotted the other racer almost catch the Zubat. "Dang these guys are slippery!" Pidgeot made a sound in agreement and kept after the pidgey.

Shina's lip was starting to feel a bit raw and puffy from her chewing on it. Her hands were clenched into fists as she waited to see the outcome of the race.

In frustration, Catherine let out a cry she had once heard and mimiced. The chilling cry of a hunting Aerodactyl echoed through the clouds.

The zubat was suddenly quite close. Cara reached out, and could almost touch it, but at the last second, it took a nosedive and Cara and Pidgeot lost it in the clouds once more.
((I think the dice gods/goddesses are having fun playing with us sweatdrop ))

The Zubat flinched! Catherine made the unearthly sound again, hoping the Zubat would slow enough for her to catch it.

Cara was startled by cry the chatot made. "What the heck?!" She looked around for the Aerodactyl but saw none, all she saw was the other racer, the prize pokemon, and the other racer's Chatot. "Oh yeah, chatot can do that..." After shaking off the mini 'freak-out', Cara and Pidgeot were off, chasing the pidgey once more.

Catherine tried to catch up, but her plan had backfired. The Zubat was flying faster than ever, terror lending it speed.

Cara saw the Pidgey duck into a thick blanket of clouds and decided that if they wanted to catch it, they would have to go in after it. "Lets go Pidgeot" Pidgeot, not being one to back down, rushed into the cover of the clouds, listening carefully for the smaller bird.
((totally! whee PLEASE BE NICE DICE GODS/GODDESSES!! WE'VE BEEN GOOD! I SWEARS!!))

The billowing clouds made it hard to see, but Catherine didn't let that dissuade her. She was going to get a Zubat!
((Why do I get the feeling I am going to roll every number but 22 or 46 before rolling either of those numbers?))

Cara heard the bird chirp, and heard it's wings flap, and so did Pidgeot. The large bird was on to the smaller one like butter on a short stack.

Catherine nearly crashed into the Pidgeot that suddenly cut in front of her. In her annoyance, she made the call of a Raichu using Thunderbolt. Then she refocused on catching up to the Zubat again.

As they broke through the clouds, it was revealed that the pidgey was much farther away than they had thought. "That thing is way to fast for it's own good..." Cara muttered.

If she had the breath for it, Catherine would have huffed. The Zubat had pulled ahead quite a bit due to the Pidgeot getting in her way.
