Bix's expression pursed. Well played Molly. Well played.
"Whoever said that is a liar." And then he cracked up and flicked her menu in retaliation because when you lose with words, you automatically resort to childish physical antics.
Of course in minutes the waitress came by and Bix ordered some sort of burger that had bacon mixed in with the meat. IT SOUNDED AWESOME.

Another giggle from behind the menu as Bix flicked it, but it came down as the waitress arrived, and Molly put in an order for some stuffed French toast and eggs and sausage and hash browns and….mmm that sounded really good.
She passed off her menu to the waitress, and immediately went to nursing a cup of water that was provided. She was silent for a moment, glancing back out the window before back at Bix. “I’m not dreaming, am I?” She asked him, smiling a bit.

Bix took a sip of his own water.. and then took a nice looooong drink. he hadn't realized how parched he was from the prom. He pulled out his cellphone, fiddling with something and checking the time. When Molly spoke to him he glanced up, pushing the phone off to the side.
"What do you mean?"

Molly’s smile remained, resting a finger against her chin as she seemed sheepish. Oh, maybe that had been a really stupid question. She was about to feel really silly trying to explain to Bix how she felt.
She looked out the window, resting her chin in her hand. “…Sometimes, those quiet moments when I could spare some time to day dream before I joined Deus…I kind of liked to imagine what it’d be like to go out on a date…I could never have imagined such a thoughtful and wonderful evening such as the one you’ve given me tonight…” She glanced back at him, the Sun Hunter in his nice suit, then at the rose corsage on her wrist, and she looked back out the window. “So I wonder if I’m dreaming sometimes.” She laughed. “Is this real life?” She teased lightly.

"It's definitely real life." Bix then looked sheepish as she explain and started his usual habit of fiddling with the end of his braid.
"I'm glad I could do something nice for you." He glanced away from his hair for a moment. "I think you are sweet and nice and.." He blushed. "Well I just think you are great and you deserve this. A fun night going out and dancing and stuff."
He rested his hand on the table, would have take hers but she still had her water glass, so he idly scratched the tabletop in silence.
"I'm glad you had a good time. I did too. And-" And he really likes you. REALLY REALLY. But he couldn't say it so blatantly right now.. because the waitress was back with their food!

“Oh good…” Molly giggled softly, and glanced back at him, her cheeks flaring red for the umpteenth time that night. “Goodness…” She ducked her head, looking out the window again. He thought she was all of those things? She opened her mouth to say something, but then paused, and sighed softly. “…Just…thank you so much.” She murmured sincerely, looking up at him with a smile.
She tilted her head as he spoke, listening to him intently until their food arrived, and she leaned back as the waitress put their plates down. She thanked the woman, and started to unwrap her silverware from the napkin, looking down at their food. “…Looks good, huh?” She then reached over for the strawberry syrup, and started to pour it on her stuffed French toast. “…Um…were you going to say something else, Bix?” Molly prompted, glancing up from her rain of strawberry syrup at the young man.

Bix felt reassured by Molly's reaction and flipped his napkin into his lap with a grin when the food came. His burger smelled awesome and his stomach grumbled in response.
Right before he put the burger to his mouth, gaping wide open and ready for hot meat, he took a breath and rambled out, "Umm just.. I like you alot and I have fun with you and I hope we can do this again."
He shoved the burger into his mouth before he could get too embarassed by his admission.

Molly was drowning that piece of stuffed French toast. Drowning it in strawberry syrup. She was still pouring it as Bix uttered his confession, and she her lips parted in surprise for a moment before she smiled.
“…Ditto!” She chirped, smiling wider, and then glanced down at her plate. She stopped just before the strawberry syrup started to flow over the rim of the plate. Molly hummed softly to herself as she pushed that plate to the side and then pulled the one with her eggs and hash browns closer, and started to work on that.

Bix watched as she poured and poured syrup. He was about to say something when it seemed it would spill over the edge but she stopped it juuust at the right second. He chuckled a bit to himself before he shoved the burger into his mouth.
The next few minutes were filled with the sounds of both of them devouring their food. Mmm.. sweet sweet food.
When he was done, Bix flopped back and smached his stomach. "Ohhhh gooood sooo full." He rolled his head around on the back of the booth. "Dying.. of ..food. Food coma.. commencing.."
His head popped back up as he half heatedly attempted to eat a french fry, half of which still remained on his plate. After one bite and tossed it back down. "Nope.. not happening."
The waitress came for their plates and asked if they wanted dessert, which he waved on. She would bring back the check.
"Do you want to do anything else? I only planned this far but we're in California. Anything you want to do before we head back?" The idea of heading back seemed like a drag. "The beach isn't far I don't think. There's stores and stuff..." Most of the, were closed but window shopping and a walk could be nice. Honestly he just didn't quite want the night to end... even if he knew it was inevitable.

Molly felt like she had dodged a bullet when she had stopped pouring the syrup. Mmm. Why yes, she did like some stuffed French toast with her syrup. As Bix worked on his burger, she worked on her plate. Once she was finished, she ended up dragging her finger through the strawberry syrup to eat it that way until the waitress came and took away their plates.
She giggled. “Food coma, huh? Don’t worry, Bix. I’ll carry you back.” She rested her head in her hand, and blinked, looking surprised before it shifted into a thoughtful look. She tapped her chin, staring up at the ceiling, and then looked out the window. She perked up and leaned forward a bit across the table. “Do you think there’s a board walk nearby?” She questioned, excitement creeping into her tone. “I always wanted to go for a walk on one…if it’s alright with you…? If that’s not something you want to do, it’s okay!”

"I think there's a pier type of thing down the way." Bix nodded. "That sounds nice. I actually haven't been to a boardwalk either. I never really lived close to a beach. I went a couple times on vacation but.. usually just for swimming." The young man perked at the prospect. He hadn't even thought about himself very much in this scenario, he'd been so focused on Molly. It was nice to realize it was a first for him too.
After the check was brought he paid with his card again and outside the restaurant he offered his hand for her once more. The more he did it, the better he felt about it, and the blush wasn't as awkward. He still blushed, sure, but it was more a happy flush than it was embarrassment.
The street was lit up nicely in the night, and they had to turn a block towards the beach but after a couple minutes of chitchat the ocean smell grew stronger and they could see the moon above the water. The sidewalk started to change into wooden slats and the boutiques turned into small pizza places and knick-knack shops. It wasn't long before the wood started to rise, lifting them up to the boardwalk proper. It didn't seem to be long but a pier stretched out to the their left. It was a simple fishing pier, empty at the late hour, and as they approached the very end the only noise was beach insects and the water coming in and out below them.

The excitement was more apparent on Molly’s face now as Bix thought it’d be a good idea too. “Really?” She echoed, listening as he talked about going to the beach. “…We lived on the coast of Lake Erie…so there was water right there…but…a lake beach isn’t like an ocean beach…” She smiled a bit sheepishly, and when the check came by, she tried making a dive across the table for it, but Bix beat her to it. Thus she ended up blushing like a fiend and thanking him up and down for the late-late dinner.
There was always a pause when Bix would offer his hand before Molly took it. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to…it still just took her by surprise, that’s all.
She took in the sights as they walked, enjoying the ocean scent and breeze as it grew stronger as they got closer. Once they drew to the end of the pier, Molly peered over the edge, looking down at the water and the barnacles clinging to the wooden beams. “…I like it a lot right now.” She piped up after a moment, looking back at the Sun hunter. “Just…um…you and me out here...maybe it’s busy out here during the day!” She cupped a cheek.

"Looks like it's for fishing right here." There was a half empty tackle box, probably forgotten, stuck under a bench on the pier. "I wonder if it's a good spot? I use to fish with my dad and brother but that was streams and small lakes. I never caught anything amazing..." Bix chuckled and just looked out over the water and enjoyed the air.
"I'll try to find a better boardwalk. Maybe one with rides?" he knew some places had those. "If you wanted.. to go another time." Bix seemed nervous again now that they were standing still, alone, their hands occupied with the pier instead of dancing or strolling. He played with his braid nervously once more and mentally admonished himself for acting like some sort of kid.
"Sorry I've been so weird.. nervous." He looked back out at the water. "I also tend to just spill the beans and babble when I get like that.. so sorry again because I think I am doing that right now. You are so happy and calm it seems like and.. ahhhh!" Bix laughed and let out a frustrated hollar of a breath, not loud but obvious. "Maybe if I just yell out my nervousness it'll be better cause we're grown ups and I shouldn't be like that right? AHHHH!" he did it again and as stupid as it sounded he did feel a bit easier.
"Ok. Better. Ocean.. breeze.. moon.. pretty girl." He nodded and gave her a smile. "I'm better. I promise I won't be so weird from now on."

Molly just looked at Bix like how she normally looked at someone. Patient, attentive, non-judging. As the poor guy babbled nervously, Molly’s expression didn’t change, though she may have smiled softly to encourage him and let him know that everything was okay. A thought got into her mind though, as Bix nervously rambled, so while he was preoccupied with talking, her free hand started to look for his items on his person. Molly pulled out his cell phone, his wallet, his strip of photos, and anything else she could have found before placing it on a nearby bench.
Still, she smiled at up him encouragingly, and reached into the side of her dress to pull out her own strip of photos and placed them in the pile of belongings on the bench as well. As Bix came to the end of his ramble, Molly’s smile widened, and she squeezed his hand reassuringly before she let it go.
“Don’t apologize.” She murmured. “Keep being you, Bix. That’s why I like you.” She then giggled and shoved him, hard, off the end of the pier.

Bix did smile in response to her encouragement until he found himself tumbling over the edge of the pier. He hit the water, in shock, and then flailed wildly. "AHHH AHHHHH!" He sputtered and flopped and screamed. "I CAN"T SWIM!!" "HELP! HELP!" He kept reaching up to her trying to get help, panic all over his face.
