That was a bit more substantial than a crush after all. "Cass is, ******** she's pretty much the best girl on the island but I'm kind of biased."

Lance snorted at the comment, saying nothing. He had nothing to add to it. When the topic ventured to Cass, however... "That's fine," he offered, reaching around the Moon to thrust at the enemy again. "But keep in mind I'm her division's assistant. You make her unhappy, and there's a good chance I'll be gettin' involved. I take care of my girls, so I'll be keeping a close eye on the both of you."

His thrust went wide; Lance pulled back and switched to Marcus' other side and jabbed again, this time utilizing both of his arms to add force to the thrust. "Damn! I hate incorporeals! Stay solid, damnit!"

Knee jerk reaction? "s**t is she upset out something?" The second Marcus took in the words, he relaxed slightly. "Oh. Er-" He turned to face the creature. "Ahahahaha.... So uh... You have a girl friend?"

Lance smirked at the reaction he gleaned from the trainee, refocusing his attention on the creature. Which was immediately side-tracked by the trainee's attention. He shrugged, readying his lance for a strike. "I don't know whether I could call her a girlfriend or not considering pre-embankment to the Horseman lands we had one hell of a fight. As for the rest... Who knows?"
The hunter struck, withdrawing his lance as soon as it made contact. "Haven't really spoken to the rest due to my condition. Don't think they're that interested considering how none of them bothered with me afterward."

Owch, that had to suck. Which Marcus might have be having his own issues, "Have you tried talking to her about it? I mean, shacking up because you might die seems like a pretty easy way to tell they're interested. No regrets and all that." As Lance hit the creature, Marcus took the oncoming blow, sending it into the wall rather than Lance or himself.
"And how do you know they're not waiting for you to talk to them?"

"Haven't had a chance. Higher up hunters have been hitting the other bases for horseman retaliations. She's not exactly around to clear things up with," Lance grunted, thrusting with both hands at the Insanity creature. "In fact the whole fight started because -- s**t hold still!" Lance tightened his grip, using his free hand to jerk the wheelchair's wheel harshly forward to rip the lance free from the creature.
"As far as waitin', how the hell should I know? Most of'em have hooked up into some permanent-lookin' relationships. For all I know, most of'em have written me off as dead despite the lack of a goddamn tombstone."

Well, that would explain their absence as of late. Personally, Marcus was fine with them being off for what ever and- "Wait, She as in-" He blocked an attack while he talked. Multitasking, not just for games anymore. "Like... Miss Carr?"
Even if he was wrong, "Won't hurt to send a message. No regrets you know? And if you give up-" He winced internally. "It's harder to be alone than to be together."

Lance gave a bark of laughter. "Hell naw, I already know that I had a snowball's chance in hell with her. Moonies aren't too bad, they're a hell of a lot easier to get along with than some Suns or any other division though." Most of the time.
"Hmph. You're never exactly alone again after becoming a hunter. You've got your weapon. May not be much and you might not agree all the time, but it's better than nothin'." Lance snuck his weapon around Marcus, jabbing it at the boss before retreating. "Can't hurt to give that a shot, though."

Marcus doubted Lance had that little of a chance. "I dunno, you take her on a date? Ask her if she's okay? If she needs just something like a hug? Cass sometimes just wants me to hold her after missions, so maybe she's the same?" A block then a a shrug. "Women are confusing. But go after her man, there can't be many things she can do to ya right?"

Lance shook his head. "It's not that easy. There's more than personal pride and companionship riding on something like this. Doesn't help that she's not exactly one for closeness, what with she put up with as a trainee." Lance swung his weapon wide, attempting to push the Insanity creature back. "Otherwise I dunno if you've noticed, but a hug isn't exactly doable. What do you suggest I do, grab her by the scarf and pull her down to my level?"

Laughing, Marcus dodged a jab to his head before rushing forward, sending the creature back a few feet. "Then you show her you want to be close. I mean you don't rush it, but you give her a small touch. Let her know you care. I mean..." Turning back, his own emotional problems were pushed to the side.
"Pin her down if you have to. Tell her how you feel. If she doesn't want to rush it, don't, if she says no, then s**t sucks but it's better to say something, to do something than sit on your a** right? Love is too good a thing to pass up."

"Pin her down? Haha! You recall you're speaking to the man who can't move his legs, right?" Lance retorted, slapping a leg for emphasis. "Pinning her down would be rather difficult in my circumstances. Not a bad thought, but getting in the position to do that..." He trailed off thoughtfully, considering as his hit went wide.
"Man. s**t's changed. It used to be pair up with whoever you wanted. No strings attached, nothing serious y'know? Guess what with the potential of the Apocalypse happening and all people got serious."

Taking a blow to his shoulder, Marcus managed to block the second arm coming after him, though tendrils were forming on the other side trying to sneak over. To him, Lance's legs didn't matter. What mattered was the fact he could fight and thus far, was turning out to be a pretty cool guy.
"I don't recall a man who can't use his legs, I recall a guy who took down a ******** insanity bird not just a while ago." He winced, being slightly pushed back. "Pin her down, pull her down, grab her and don't let go. Don't make some BS excuse because I am pretty sure you could get her attention if you tried. And if there were no strings attached back then, you saying you want to tie some strings with her?"
