He watched as she approached his hammock, trying not to make any noise of his own. Even without her tail to assist, he knew she could make the climb, but whether or not she could do so silently was something he couldn't predict. When she fell in next to him, West coughed and muttered something incomprehensible and appropriately laced with irritation. Hopefully anyone listening would just assume he had woken up for whatever reason and was jostling around before getting back to sleep.
He swallowed as she pressed herself against his side. If it had been Duerre nuzzling into him he would have known exactly what she was thinking, but with Levi, he didn't have a clue. He didn't quite know how he felt about that, to be honest. The boil closed his eyes and reached out the hand that was farthest from her, lightly brushing it from her hip up to her waist. A minute or so later he turned his body as well, the length of his arm securing itself around her like a living seatbelt.
He took a breath to speak, but couldn't think of a thing to say. It was hard enough not to think about rodeos.
