May was about to try and explain her apparent "bad-a**" attempt before she stopped cold for a moment. Her spider-sense picked up on footsteps directed right for Carlie's room. In a flash, May hit the ground and rolled under the bed; sticking her hands and feet to the underside at the same time, and allowing herself to be hidden by the excess sheet and blanket the bed had.
'Close one, Mayday; really close...'

The doctors entered, and one of them noticed the chair that had gotten close to her bed. He moved it over to the corner where it had been before, and the other looked to Carlie with a frown.
"You're awake. This is a surprise. The anesthetics should have had you under for a while."
"Yeah... Sorry, I think my ring must've done something, because I was knocked out. Totally under, I swear," Carlie said with an air of perplexity.
"Then maybe we should take the ring off, Miss?"
"Inadvisable course of action. User is currently undergoing cellular regeneration processes started by this unit. Removal of ring from user's finger will stop the process before it is complete." Carlie's ring said.
"Cellular regeneration? From your ring? That's... fascinating, actually," said one of the doctors.
"Yeah. These babies can do almost anything, which is awesome," Carlie said conversationally.
"User's cellular regeneration is nearly complete. Estimate thirty minutes before one-hundred-percent capability is reached."
"Well... If that's the case, then I suppose you can leave on your own once you feel up to it, Miss," said one of the doctors. "But... How'd that chair move?"
"I was trying to test out my ability to make constructs after I woke up, to see if I had the focus. I made a hand and moved the chair." Carlie said, not a hint of a lie in her voice; she was a damned good actor.
"Ah, well... When you leave, tell your father that we're glad to help him out. He's the hometown hero, after all." said the first doctor, and then they left after Carlie promised to do just that.

A smirk grew on May's face at the content of the conversation Carlie had with the doctors. 'Constructs? Hmm... magic, I'm still keeping with magic...' With the closing of the door, May dropped from the bed and rolled out from under Carlie's bed. Brushing herself off, she chuckled and looked to the girl. "Looks like we both have some things to ask each other now, eh?" She stood up a little straighter, turning around to face the chair the doctor had moved back and pulled it close again with her webshooter. Sitting, she sighed and leaned forward, closer to the bed. "What exactly is that ring? Like... what's it do? Besides, y'know, talking and showing holograms and healing and... what else?" She was sounding like a curious child, but she couldn't help herself.

Carlie's first thought when the doctors disappeared was: Phew! Then she watched May turn around, and she realized for the first time just how... well-defined tights could make a person's rear end. They really showed off this girl's, ah... assets. She shook her head slightly and made that thought go away, and when May asked what the ring did, Carlie gave a bright grin.
"Well... These rings, they run on a few things: Primarily, the Green Light of Willpower. In my universe the electromagnetic spectrum also encompasses emotions, with one color of the rainbow accounting for a different emotion. Technically, Willpower isn't an emotion, but a state of mind, and that actually kind of makes sense, since it's in the middle and is the most stable color. Anyways, my ring is fueled by my willpower, focus and imagination. With it, I can use the Green Light of Will to do almost anything I want. Watch this..."
She pointed her ring, and created two small, green energy constructs near May: A samurai, and a tyrannosaurus rex. Then she made them fight just by thinking it. She let those thoughts go, and as a result, the constructs disappeared. Then she created a giant green Pac-Man that zoomed around the room, making its trademark "wakka-wakka" sounds, before letting that construct disappear as well.

May listened intently to Carlie's explanation of the ring's capabilities. The fact that she was listening to someone from an entirely different universe registered very little in May's mind; it was like talking with a new girl at school explaining where she came from, really. She found Carlie incredibly easy to listen to. Mayday nearly fell out of her chair at the visage of the constructed Pac-Man that the Green Lantern sent around the room. "Man... I wish my explanation was that cool and... informative..." She chuckled. "I mean, I can't make anything my mind can dream of a reality, or anything..." May stood abruptly and leapt for the ceiling; her feet and hands taking to the surface easily. Upside down, she looked to Carlie and grinned before crawling along a little farther.
"But this isn't all that bad, really." May fired her webshooter at the ceiling right above the girl and then retracted it as she swung; the result leaving her upside-down, hanging by her web, her feet gripping the white material easily. She lowered herself until she was at inverted eye-level with Carlie and chuckled. "Actually it's pretty fun."

Carlie's glowing, green eyes were wide as she watched May show off. She was not expecting that sort of thing.
"So... You have spider-like abilities?" she asked, being pretty sharp herself. "Not bad. Too bad you can't fly. I can go to, like... past lightspeed occasionally. Not in-atmosphere though, I have to be in outer space."
Then she realized just how close Mayday's face was to hers. "Ummm...." she said, and then she gave a nervous chuckle and muttered something about personal space.

May resisted the urge to gape at Carlie's claim. She was just about to ask more detail about it before she heard something about personal space. Not wanting to offend the girl, May slid back up the length of the web and crawled back along the ceiling to the wall in front of the bed. As she dropped from the wall, she realized she had dropped her mask under the bed, and quickly snatched it with the webshooter.
"Uh, yeah... spider-like stuff... the climbing, the agility, some strength... also I have this... thing. It tingles, sometimes. I call it spider-sense. It's like..." May looked to the ceiling and curled a finger around her chin in though. "It's like... I can tell something's gonna happen, and where it's gonna come from... but the rest is sort of a surprise." In regards to the flying comment, May smirked. "And just cause I can't fly doesn't mean you should rub it in..." Her voice held not an ounce of being offended, as she wasn't in the slightest.

Carlie frowned and shrugged. "Huh. Cool." she said, and she tentatively sat up in her bed, removing the IV and whatnot. "Spider-sense... Interesting. My ring can alert me to danger, but it doesn't do it often."
She swung her legs off of the bed and slowly stood. She was still somewhat disoriented and probably should have been in a wheelchair for this, but she just wouldn't be a Jordan if she wasn't a stubborn a**. She wobbled slightly and fell forward... Hopefully May would move fast enough to catch her.

"Apparently not..." May began as she took a step for the bed slowly after Carlie spoke. "A shame it couldn't have warned you of th-" Spider-Girl snapped into action as Carlie fell forward; she completely forgot the snark that was about to leave her lips and shot for the girl. Catching her with one arm, May set her back on the bed gently, then took a step back and crossed her arms. "Dr. Spidey says you should take it easy..." May said playfully, smiling wide. She looked to girl's green outfit up and down and then curled her finger around her chin again. "That's a really cool costume! What's it made of? Spandex?"

Carlie wasn't expecting to be caught so quickly, but she moved the hair from her eyes and looked to Mayday.
"Heh, well, I'll need to give myself a second opinion. There's a world to save after all." she replied, standing again and getting her bearings. "Oh, the costume? Lol, no. It's made of energy from my ring. Watch this."
She took her ring off, and the suit disappeared in a dim flash of green light, replaced by the outfit Carlie had worn since being in Keystone City: A black t-shirt, a jean skirt, and flip-flops. Ordinary clothes for a teenage girl.

Stomping her foot with her mouth wide open, May smiled and spoke excitedly. "That is so cool!" She looked down at her own attire, realizing that she wasn't able to wear her own personal clothes beneath the red and dark-blue fabric. "God knows I could use something like that... cause it seems like I'm pretty much stuck with this for a while..." Her hands smacked her sides, looking back to Carlie as she stood before her. "Hey, maybe we can go shopping or something... if you're not to busy with the world saving... I'd like to tag along for that too, though..."

Carlie blinked, and beamed. "You and me? I think we're gonna be awesome friends." she said with a grin. "I swear, I located my dad in this mess and asked him to take me shopping despite all this chaos, since there wasn't anything to do, and he was all: 'LOLNOPE, WORLD IS IN DANGER RAWR'. I swear, my dad can be so uptight sometimes."
Then she frowned, putting her ring back on her right middle finger. Her costume returned in another brief flash of green light, and a green light outlined her figure as she hopped up into the air and stayed there, floating a foot off the ground. "Hmm... Now how to get out of here... I supposed that I could just leave, but... what about you?"

An ill-contained and healthy chuckle escaped May during Carlie's explanation of her dad's answer. As the girl finished talking and began to float into the air, May smiled back up. "I think you're right, C.J...." She said quietly, then looked around the room. How was she going to get out? Not like she could just walk; after all, she hadn't been in there at first, and her outfit wasn't exactly passable as normal. Finally, she looked at the ceiling and leapt for it. Once she positioned herself above the door-frame, she slipped her mask back over her pretty face and looked to Carlie with the white-eyes. "Lol screw physics, right?" She said, smiling under the red fabric. "Lead the way!"

Carlie just grinned. "Not Bad." she said, and she set back down onto the floor and strolled leisurely through the halls; the doctors stared at her uniform with a sort of awe (not to mention that she was up and walking with seemingly no side effects after nearly dying from electrocution maybe forty-five minutes prior), and this was good because it kept them from possibly glancing up and noticing May.
Carlie moved to the main lobby and spoke briefly with the receptionists, who were just as shocked as the doctors; those in the waiting room still also gaped at her, because she was a Green Lantern they had never seen before. Carlie then moved out of the lobby, with the eyes of everyone still on her, so that May could follow and not be detected. Then she got outside, away from the others.

Through the halls of the hospital, May was completely and utterly silent crawling along the ceiling. Her ability to bond more strongly with surfaces she crawled on was assisting in keeping the ceiling panels from making too much racket, as she kept all of the panels she was using held tightly to the next. It nearly made Mayday break into a laugh at how much all the doctors and nurses and passerby were staring slack-jawed at C.J.; not to mention it made May's sneaking a lot easier. Once Carlie had exited the building, May waited for a moment when she was certain no one was watching before she dropped and made her own way outside.
Mayday caught up quickly with Carlie and chuckled. "That was perfect! They all just stood there like: 'Wut?' " She looked out past the parking-lot towards the rest of the city, and something occurred to her. "This... doesn't look like the year 2041..." May said quietly, turning to face Carlie again. "Not like being in the past would be necessarily... y'know, a big deal, considering the whole alternate universe thing, but still..." She shrugged. "Ah well... guess I just get to see what fashion was like in... whenever this is..."
