Interesting Conversationalist

War's heir could not keep the look of mild surprise from her expression, her eyebrows lifting a little at Riley's reply and demeanor. Or if she could, she didn't bother to try. Instead, Eris gave the Ilithid a closer look, brown eyes roaming over the student's form with a new-found thoughtfulness. The amused look she had been sporting had vanished, but curiosity had replaced what had been lost, intrigue clear in her warm brown eyes as she sized the other girl up. It wasn't a threatening look-over -- more like the horsewoman was looking for something she hadn't considered before. After a moment her eyes lifted again, meeting the iris-less ones of her conversationalist. "I cannot think of a time it has been done..." she replied slowly, pausing for a moment to give her a thoughtful c**k of her head, "However, it is of my opinion those who possess the essence of the apocalypse should not be turned away for something so trivial as their place of birth. I could tell you that, as my protege, you would be allowed to stay -- my word, as heir, would likely be enough to satisfy my clan. Acceptance, however, is a different matter entirely." Nodding in Shun's direction in agreement to his comment, she let the corners of her lips curl slightly, although the relaxed seriousness had not left her tone. "As you've seen, my clan values strength, discipline, courage, leadership -- all traits necessary in war. I am certain that should you prove yourself in a challenge, you would be accepted with open arms. If you would like, I will speak with our Clan Leader."
Shifting a little from where she reclined, Eris slid her legs along the cushion to place them gently back on the floor, her posture straightening.
"However, I do have some reservations in extending such an invitation... not with whether you belong, but whether it is what you truly desire at all. Do you not wish for your own army? And would not your own clan disapprove?"

As far as Riley was concerned, everything the heir to War said made it sound like Riley was the perfect fit. She looked wide eyed and filled with excitement, all the way until the end of her answer. It was at this point that Riley's hopes started to chip away, as something deep down inside struggled to fight for dominance once more.
My clan's approval is not.. I will not be seeking it, at this time. This first sentence she said privately, which meant only Eris could hear it, but then her thoughts became public once more. I did wish for an army, but I don't see why I would not get the chance to form one while under the banner of War. I would simply be gaining followers for the glory of this clan, instead of my own. It is not so different - one must start from the bottom and claw their way up with every tooth and nail, if they wish to rise to great heights. Would you, and your clan, not agree?
There was something nervous about her movements, as her hands started to worry at the edges of her long sleeve.

Mitzi entered a room to find several other students already there, as well as a horsewoman who looked vaguely familiar. She hadn't actually interacted with Eris at Amityville, so it didn't occur to her that she would have seen her there, rather than simply around the village.
As she walked in, a bunch of bird-like minipets landed on the branches outside the room, and when the Reaper ghoul noticed them all staring at her she started to feel slightly uncomfortable. She wandered around the room a bit, just looking at what was there, but couldn't stop feeling the minis' eyes boring into her.

As the bird minis' continued staring at her, and started to make odd and annoying shrieking sounds, the ghoul wondered if there was an appropriate way to scare them off. She couldn't be sure, though, and they were becoming a bit obnoxious and distracting, and they were still all staring at her. So rather than let them disturb the other people in the room (or at least to make sure if they did, it wouldn't reflect on Mitzi herself), the Reaper decided to leave again.

Ulmuka seemed to come back to this place. It was easily accessible and there were no booby traps. He didn't get speared or stabbed or flung into spikes on his way here either. It seemed to be a gathering place and students would come and go, explore and lounge.
The strix was the same and came just to enjoy the view and the air. He strolled around and noticed things he hadn't before. A particularly gory painting caught his eye and he enjoyed it, having not seen it before.

Muka noticed the feathers again, scattered over the floor. He crouched to pick through them but still had not found an answer to their mystery. What had happened here?

Muka picked at the floorboards, hoping once again to find a shiny silver bauble but unfortunately they all seemed to be gone.
