It was sort of nice to watch everyone mingle. Watching people drift from group to group, watching people who knew what could be coming try and squeeze in a bit of time together. It was like sitting at a train station watching people do that nice everything is all right act as they try to fool themselves that everything is.

He watched Jordan hug a girl he'd never seen before, and Harrison arrive and make a beeline for Marcus and Dakota.

< Are you okay William? >

<< I'm fine. Its just a mission. Just like the others. Just as likely to die here as I was back there. I've dodged death a few ******** times. He's overdue. >>

< You say that but I'm in here. I know it's /not/ fine. Go talk to people. >

<< About what? How scared I am? I'm Rep, I don't /get/ ******** scared. >>

He felt the angel go silent again.

"Sleep is that weird thing that people do, supposedly during night," he explained 'helpfully', "it's kind of that thing that is supposed to recharge you to take on the day again."

Not that he slept much better than Eva but then again he didn't often have nightmares. His sleep was blissful, empty, like going into a deep void. That sounded so wonderful. Jude didn't mind the sympathy or that she had clapped a hand on his shoulder as he glanced back at her, "I guess so."

That's all he could say about being strong. He felt pathetic, he felt empty. Things that had given him any hope seemed to have...

He shook his head a little and focused on Eva, "Yeah? Well at least they aren't as bad, but you can still come to chat at me if they give you problems again," he said with a small sincere smile.

Jude shook his head a bit, "No real clue as to what but the who only said Headquarters. So that could mean just about anything and everything."

He appreciated not being chastised for his joke. He had been getting enough of that from his current "roomate". He smiled, scratching at his scar in an subconscious nervous gesture, "P-pretty sure if I ate anything I'd be sick right now. I'm fine, thanks. Um. H-have you seen..." He hesitated, before smiling absently, "Harrison or Jordan? It's so crowded. Everyone's really here, it looks like." Marching to their deaths. Another stack of folders.

Everything would be fine.

Them others weren't armed with me, guy. Just keep your head in the game.

"Roar's more confident than I am," He reported.

Harrison nodded in agreement, and left to go gather trainees. Some of them he didn't know, but he could sort out the coats.

"Alright, just real fast," he said. "We don't know what this mission's gonna entail. We might just be stacking sandbags. But if we hit any combat situations where we don't have orders and the goal is murky except destroy all the s**t, you shouldn't destroying all the s**t. You need to find a buddy from another Division, and keep alive so they can destroy all the s**t.

Harrison pulled B0nez from his sash and shifted to stand next to Marcus.

"This is a basic defensive stance. ...When you're defending, you're going to get distracted by monsters and fireballs and ******** else. But the focus should be on your buddy. The only person more important than your buddy is you, so don't take unnecessary risks. Keep track of your health, keep track of your position, and don't be a hero."

He looked at Marcus.

"You got anything?"

"Fair enough." Candace smiled, finishing the snack and crumpling up the wrapper. For now it was stuffed in a pocket of her bag; she'd throw it out later. "Jooooordaaaaaaan is...over there, by Enn--whoa, Ennea? I haven't seen her in months. And Harrison is..." She pointed until she realized what he was doing. He was teaching the Moons! Awwwww! Harrisooooooooon! She's so proud of you!

His stuttering was back. He was nervous. He was picking. Stop that. Candace sighed, suddenly turning and tugging Jerry into a tight hug. She buried her face against the crook of his neck and shoulder, hugging the man in a clear "accept it I'm not letting go until I feel you're good and ready" grip. "It'll be okay." She whispered, nuzzling her cheek against the man. "You'll be fine. You have a great weapon, you're a stronger man than you think you are. You've saved my a** so many times, Jerrbear. You'll be fine." Candace drew away enough to rest her forehead against Jerry's, looking him in the eye with a gentle smile.

"When we get back," There was no 'if' option. "Let's get some coffee or something. Okay?" Give him a promise to cling to.

He nodded his head, smiling. “Glad to hear you’ve been doing well. I’ve been pretty well myself. Got promoted and stuff.” The man briefly gestured toward his coat before he shifted in place at Sherry’s words. Wilson nervously looked back ways before he answered quietly, “I do, but I’m not sure if here is a good place to talk about it.”

Once Aleister arrived, he grinned and waved the other death trainee over. “Nope! You’re still early.”

As Vanessa strolled over, he continued to smile and patiently repeated what he had told Sherry moments before, “I’m doing well! I got a promotion.” He shifted his gaze toward the other three. “Right, so I don’t know if you guys know each other, so…Aleister, Sherry, and Vanessa!” He pointed to each of them as he spoke their name. Wilson smiled sheepishly. “Just in case.”

Tori didn't know what to think when she had gotten the text message from Headquarters as that had been the first time as most of the time they came from Caelius. She knew that she better get down to the training grounds soon as she didn't want to get in trouble for not showing up or even being late. Quickly gathering the things that she might need and putting them in her pockets as she headed out her door and to the training grounds.

Once at the training ground she could see that there were other trainees there already but she didn't right this second feel like talking as on the way to the training grounds, Aklin had mentioned that this could in some way something connected to what they had learned from the archives and from Caelius office.

Ok, Tori replied as she took a deep breath to keep herself calm as she was growing nervous as she walked up to the other trainees that were waiting to see what was going to happen.

"Hi Candace-" Mercedes replied airily. Obviously she hadn't caught the drift as to why everyone was so ******** nervous but.. she DID go on the mission to the lair.. and she DID witness death sorta. She wasn't bothered so much as she was just nervous for what she may be responsible for. Death was one thing but allowing someone ELSE to die because of her? That was an entirely different train of painful thought.

"Hadjoc is all pumped and ready to go.." she said, bothering the ravenmocker for her ignorance. Back to Molly she shrugged. "Something is better than nothing, I'd hate to be that person who barfs up their mornings' milk.. er..." That was such an awkward thing to say. Poor Mercedes heh.

Deryk paled a bit at Mercedes's words right there. Swept up in one gulp? He didn't want to die at all!

"R-Right..."

He continued to grin nervously at the two girls as they spoke some more. Right now, he didn't have anything else to say. Until Molly tried to get him to settle down a little more.

"I-I'm fine! Really! Not.. Too nervous. Everything great! yes...."

His face flushed, his stomach twisted.

"Yeah," His mouth said, "Coffee..." He mumbled. He could taste his pulse.

Finally, he registered where she had pointed out their friends. Was Jordan rallying the phoenixes?

Jerry drew in a sharp breath, forcing himself to stop trembling. It would be fine. He wasn't just a pleb anymore. He could do this. They all could.

"Harrison's got the right idea. I should... should go rally the troupes." He motioned towards Jordan before awkwardly trying to pull away.

Aleister smiled at the girls. He thought he knew one of them maybe, but he hadn't seen them since they woke up, so he just kind of smiled and nodded. "You did remember to eat right?" He was looking at Wilson mainly. Since he seemed to be at the meeting spot so early.

"Nice to meet you both." He added to the girls. He was glancing around the field and noticed Syd as well. He waited until she noticed him before waving at her.

Saya nodded resolutely to Harrison .. Although she hadn't really known him, she recognized the markings on his coat. it was reassuring to have moon instructions, even if they weren't official instructions. It made the vague mission a little clearer. A little relieved sigh, before she straightened up to listen to the rest of his speech.

She chanted Harrison's words in her brain, reminding herself to write it down later. keep track of her health, position and buddy.

Davey overheard one of his fellow Moon squad members giving some battle tips. He wandered closer to listen. It was always good to know the people watching your six weren't reckless glory-hounds.

"Sounds good, Harrison," he chipped in, watching the short demonstration between Harrison and Marcus. Even if they weren't the Defense division, it was sound battle advice. The buddy system was never a bad thing - hell, didn't they even use it on school trips these days? Certainly there were some trainees who needed keeping an eye on.

Davey offered, "Anyone who ends up wherever I am, feel free to grab me as a buddy." He didn't much mind if he knew them or not - they were all on the same side here. (Well, it was entirely possible he'd have a very serious mental debate about whether or not Dr H was worth saving. But considering the man's psychotic talent with that whip of his, Davey doubted it would ever come down to his meager talents. [If it did, they were all going to be FUBAR.])

Meanwhile, Harrison definitely had a point about the very... loose... guidelines for their missions. There was a time when Davey would have been insulted that anyone thought 'destroy all the s**t' was a valid mission goal. These days, he counted himself lucky if he had even that much to go on.

~Your life is a neverending spiral of misery,~ Azrael gleefully announced.

"Yeah, no thanks to you," Davey muttered.

The text message came in like always, but the words that flashed passed leon's eyes, it didn't feel the same. Headquarters.

A text from headquarters, not a single entity but the corporation itself. The bleary eyed hunter stared at the message for while, thoughts of the encoded message from before bubbling up, it all sounded the same. The gravity of the mission, a mission that involved every able bodied hunter was being called upon. This mission, rank A mission, was going to be serious and potentially more hazardous than any other yet. Screw potentially, it was practically confirmed.

it should have scared the life hunter, but it only served to excite him, the shiver of anticipation ran through him as he wandered over to the meeting area, as well rested as an excited fighter could be. surprisingly well. Nidhogg served as the voice or reason, hesitant and even concerned for the brunette's well being.

You're going to be careful right Leon?

"Possibly, can't say for sure." he shrugged
What do you mean, why won't you be careful?
"Its a mission, you know things can change in a matter of seconds."
But you'll look both ways right?
".. yes Nid."
And dont talk to strangers right?
"Yes Nid."
and you have a rape whistle right?
"What, I'm a guy, a rough and tough one at that Nid, what the hell?"
Just in case, you need to be ready there in case some boil thinks you're eye candy.
"I'll scream if anything happens then." he said assuredly and rolled his eyes at the voice in his mind.
Then good, did you eat yet?
This time however, Leon did smirk at Nid and held up a bagel with cream cheese. "I knew you'd ask." and took a bite out of his potential last meal.

At least he was glad to be able to wear normal clothes for this mission. "Hey Deryk, Cass, everyone." he said in a casual greeting and gave a wave to them all. Just trying to act normal and enjoy the morning, and spent a part of the moment studying the landscape, the potential paradise on a island.

Ami had heard the rumors. How there were tons of them being sent on a mission, when they didn't even know what for. How people were expecting to die. Something about how it'd happened before.

It's not like she could just ignore her orders. She'd thought about it. Just call in a sick day and then spend it at the library. In fact, she was late because she was literally doing just that. Junpei had whined at her so much about duty and respect that she just about screamed with frustration and ended up here anyways. If she died, it would be his fault.

When she entered, Wilson was surrounded by girls. Like hell she was about to enter that just to talk to one boy. Well two boys- a second one had just joined them. Really, she didn't care much. She still wasn't going over.

A moon hunter rounded her up and she listened adamantly to his advice. She knew that advice like this could be the difference between life and death ((and moon omg I'm hilarious wait back to rp)).

She mirrored his defensive stance, using Junpei as one big blocking stick. Don't be a hero- she liked that. "Oy Marcus-" she said, identifying the one of the two hunters she knew up there, "Do you know where we're headed?"
