((It's cool Azura, you didn't go to far. It's expected that enhancers might know a trick or two when it comes to sorcery, especially a skill oriented enhancer like Maka, lighting a fire isn't a big deal. From now on though, just put anything concerning Runes, or, for that matter, any other language ( that of Wendel or Sol) in italics. That way we won't have to make up our own languages just to avoid continuity errors. xd )) Eve Prier~Eve merely blinked looking at her hand quizzically, a slight frown creasing her features even as Akakios questioned her. "I...I couldn't take it...it was like something was stopping me." she clenched her fingers slightly. She had definitely felt that sensation before...somewhere... if only she could remember. As though there had been a small untraceable voice speaking to something deep within her. Something within the very core of her person. She tried, in vain, to tap into that part again, reaching for the place the voice had...to no avail. She looked after the direction that Bellius and her sister were headed. "I... I don't know how he did that. But it makes me all the more certain that we should keep an eye on that guy...Alouette may be angry with me, but I can't let her go with someone so dangerous alone, especially if there's a chance that they'll find Xen." she gave a determined stare. "I don't think we have much of a choice but to follow." she headed around Akakios as she began to walk after the other two, her grip back on the hilt of her mace, ready and willing to wield it if need be... ~Xenon Zurander Xenon chuckled at Violetta's assurance that she was quite capable, and he gave a slight bow of his head, being intentionally over dramatic. "Of course miss Violetta, I didn't mean to offend. You'll forgive a humble serving boy old habits." ((XD he was the Seirun equivalent to a maid.)) He raised both eyebrow's in a rather jesting way "As for getting knocked out...well," he gave a somewhat lamentful sigh, clearly putting it on for the sake for humor. "I do have to say it happens to me far more then I think is fair. The things one does for one's Lady." he gave a light shrug of his shoulders. " Misfortunes shall pass." he said in rather fluent Wendelian. Xenon gave a somewhat bemused smile in the face of Maka's retort to his comments regarding the military. He supposed talking big was a necessity when it came to life on the street, and from his level of skill, Xenon did not at all doubt that the older boy had been through much...but...he fell slightly more serious as they entered the enclosed shack, the noise from the streets outside dimming. He was fooling himself if he thought they, both he and Xenon being on even skill level, would last long against the military elites of the nations. They might be able to match the conventional elites blow for blow, but they'd be overwhelmed by sheer numbers...and facing some of the more...UN-conventional elites...that would be nothing short of suicide. "I'm not doubting your skill, Mister Maka, believe me...I assure you doing such would cheapen my own...however..." he gestured around them as though referring to the city at large, his face far more...wary...cautious, perhaps, was the better term. "While I realize of course that individuals such as ourselves could overwhelm more then our fair share of..." he seemed to search for a proper term "the common stock," he settled on, before his eyes narrowed. "I assure you my tirade was leading to a point...and it's this." he muttered something under his breath, a wave of his hand sending a dusty forgotten chair in the corner to right itself, and scoot up behind him, serving as a proper seat. Sitting down and interlocking his fingers in front of himself in a rather business like manner, he elaborated. "Have you truly looked around this city? Truly looked?" he raised a curved brow. "The majority of the soldiers here are not guards, they aren't even foot soldiers for a stationed military force." he carelessly gestured in the direction of the door. "They're military elites, nothing short. With the exception of the guards at the gate and those that are stationed here year round, the men and women patrolling the streets out there are just as skilled, if not more so, then ourselves. Enhancers, sorcerers, and masters abound. The Dragon Corp, the Blue Cross, the Cardinal knights themselves..." his careless manner had melted away into an almost pensive musing, as though he was as much saying this aloud to himself as informing them. "Something is going on in this city...this isn't just the result of rising tensions between the countries...those patrols are LOOKING for something... or someone." He went rather earnest, despite his usually round about nature. "You ask for information, I will give it without reservation, but I would ask the same in turn. What is it that you're looking for in this city...and..." he frowned in a more thoughtful fashion. "Do you believe it has something to do with all this military activity?"

Akakios An Gaurdious Burnstein Akakios let out a groan of annoyance but said nothing as she clenched her hand. Turning around as Eve walked about him, heading towards Aloutte and Bellius, his feet touched upon the ground quickly as he eliminated the short distance she had caused between them. "No dearest Eve that isn't my concern." His feet fell upon the ground in quickened pace again, turning himself to face her, his feet falling behind him as he continued to walk backwards in front of her. His hands in a pointed manner slightly waving about in front of his face. "Merely moments ago, you accepted to a swords fight with," His hand turned back to him to gesture to Aloutte walking behind him. "I have traveled many miles and I've seen her ways of the sword." His hand returned from gesturing to Aloutte and dropped to his side with an audible smack. "And I repeat, are you mad?"

"There are those who seek to change their lives..." Ainia sighed, looking around at all of the merchants in the marketplace, a hopeless expression on her face. Blaze was still sleeping, his head resting on her shoulder. Dread had slowly crawled into her heart as she neared the market, realizing that in order to get food she would have to talk to a trader. Now, she was just standing in the road, not knowing where to begin, After a moment, she spotted a baker a few stalls away, and decided to take her chances. The man looked nice enough, hopefully he was as nice as he looked. Taking a deep breath she walked over to the stall and smiled at the man.
"Two... uh... No, wait. Just one..." She paused, noticing the odd look the man was giving her. A blush colored her cheeks and she turned to storm away when a hand fell on her shoulder. "What...?"
"Here, lady. No charge. I've seen that young'in on your back wand'rin' around, tryin' to steal coins and scraps. No mother, that one. Died off a few months back. Sickness got 'er. You take good care of 'im. You're all 'he's got now, I reckon." The man handed her a wrapped up bundle and smiled, motioning for her to move on.
"I... Thank you." Ainia rushed off, taking the bundle with her. She was practically running in her haste to get away from the marketplace. Traders and merchants always freaked her out, and even though he had been very kind, her short interaction with the baker had caused her heart to race. She stopped as soon as the noise from the market had faded into the background, clutching the bundle to her chest.
"Angel lady, you run real fast." Blaze spoke up, causing Ainia to jump. She had completely forgotten about the child riding on her back in her haste to get away from the old man.
"Yeah, well, who asked you anyway? Brat." She growled, kneeling down so Blaze could slide off of her back. As soon as he got his feet on the ground, she walked toward a nearby building and took a seat. Motioning at Blaze to come join her, she unwrapped the bundle that the man had given her. Inside were two loaves of bread, and a few small pastries. Ainia watched as Blaze took a seat beside her, his face lighting up at the sight of food.
"Woah, where'd ya get this, lady?" He grinned, and took one of the pastries, tearing into it. "So sweet..."
"Geez, kid. You act like you haven't eaten in months." Ainia smiled and broke off part of one of the loaves, popping it into her mouth. "Chew before you swallow."
"I haven't really eaten since the creepy men came and took mama away. She was really sleepy, and didn't wake up. They wouldn't let me go with her for some reason." Blaze frowned, staring down at the food in his hand.
"Oh dear... Well, how about I take care of you until we can find your mother?" Ainia pulled Blaze close as she spoke, trying her best to comfort him. His eyes lit up at her offer, and he nodded. Sighing, she stood up, taking the boy's hand in her own. "Well then kid, c'mon. Lets go back to the inn. We can finish eating there. Hopefully those creeps are gone by now..."
A memory of the three strange people standing in the alley flashed in Ainia's mind, and she decided that next time something odd happened around here she was going to stay and watch. This town was full of odd people, and she could use a distraction. Who knows, maybe she would even run into those three again in the future. She shook her head and grinned, knowing that wouldn't happen. It was just a silly thought to chase away her worries of who else she might run into while she was here. She shivered, and set off toward the inn, pushing all thoughts of the past out of her mind."...And those who seek to change the lives of others."

000000Maka "Noctis" Oblivion "Life's a drag, your a nuisance, just another day in life." Maka stuck the pieces of meat on some metal rods he found lying around and nodded as Xen spoke to him. He proceeded to sit back down at the chair he had originally pulled out. "They are probably connected, and if they were, I wouldn't be surprised. So, have you heard of a man named Takaya Jin, who also goes by the name El-Skeith?" He asked, pouring the alcohol into the two cups and passing one to Xen. "Its not poisoned, so don't worry. Besides, why would I spike a drink that belongs to somebody who has a possible lead on... A friend, lets say..." He continued as he took a sip from his drink. By the way that it slightly gave a slight burning sensation at the back of his throat, he knew that he had grabbed something of good value. Must suck to be the bartender to have lost this by pure misfortune.
Maka waited patently as the meat cooked over the fire, a slight crack from that wood every now and then. Old thoughts from the past resurfaced, memories from when he was on the run from the authorities.

Eve Prier~Eve's face maintained it's level of determination. "Oh, is that all..." she closed her eyes slightly in thought, before looking ahead at her sister, still following after the two, though now at a slight distance. "You don't need to concern yourself with that. As a women and a warrior...I won't back down from a challenge." she gripped her fist at her side. "And anyway..." her brow creased slightly. "If you want to know the truth...I want to fight her too..." there was something in Eve's eyes as she said this, a distant memory flickering in her mind even as she turned to look at Akakios. "The person who taught me how to fight...he always told me that battle was just another form of expression...maybe even the purest." she looked ahead again towards her sister. "Maybe by fighting her, we can finally come to a point where we understand one another." she seemed frustrated for a moment. Maybe, if she accepted her sister's challenge and they faced one another...she could finally be the big sister that Alouette needed. Maybe she could finally clear away the anger that seemed to have settled into the younger girl's heart. She gave a slanted grin to the man beside her now. "So, I guess to answer your question, yeah, maybe I am a little mad...but..." she nodded still entirely certain of herself. "I'm not going to change my mind either. If Alouette wants to fight me, I owe her that much. Even I feel that maybe by fighting each other...we can finally reach an understanding." She wasn't going to run away any more...she'd decided that. She was going to face what appeared before her... both the world, and the country she'd left behind. If her sister was the embodiment of her old life coming to catch her up, then she would start there. She would face her sister's anger, and prove to Alouette, and maybe even herself, that she wasn't abandoning anything...she was instead embracing the new life she'd chosen. The life she'd always been meant for... ~Xenon Zurander Xenon actually quirked a brow in intrigue at this question, accepting the cup handed to him but instead setting in of the floor nearest him. "I believe you, of course, logically speaking it wouldn't benefit you, but I'm not much of a drinker. A Sorcerer's mind is his weapon, and you surely wouldn't intentionally dull your blades while the situation outside was what it was, would you?" he gave a slight smile. "Perhaps I'll share a drink with you when we find ourselves in more accommodating circumstances, but you'll have to forgive me for the moment." he seemed to fall back into a more business-like manner as he turned to the question.
"As for the matter at hand..." he tilted his head ever so slightly, as though tangibly seeing the issue in the air before him. "Takaya Jin... that's certainly interesting. With a name like that I'd assume he was from the area of northern Malkuth. While I admit I've never head that name before..." he sunk further into conjecture. "El-Skieth...that's a different story." he took off his glasses with a practiced hand, his face rather casual as he took out a cloth from the pouch at his hip and began to polish the lenses with a gentle ease. "The man you're looking for and I have a mutual acquaintance, to be honest, though I must tell you that he didn't leave a very good impression." he gave a teasing grin at this rather excessive understatement. "My...friend," he seemed to use the term loosely. "happens to be a...oh how to put it, businessman of morally open practice?" he supposed that really was the most diplomatic way to note one as being a smuggler tycoon and purveyor of illegal merchandise.
He finished with his glasses, replacing them unto his face with a slight flourish. "While it was true he didn't say too much regarding the man, he was willing to pay a rather hefty sum of money for the man's head." Xenon leaned back slightly in his seat, prodding his chin as though attempting to recall. "He didn't really specify what the man had done to gain his displeasure, but from what I was able to gather, he seemed to be involved with something called..." he seemed to pause for a moment as though trying to remember. "Oh dear...it was something along the lines of..." he puzzled for a moment more, fighting to remember, until suddenly it came to him, the young man snapping his fingers. "Ah, yes, that was it. He claimed that El-Skieth was involved in something called "Tri-Edge."" he gave a rather hefty sigh. "Other than that, there's really nothing I can tell you. I don't know who this El-Skieth truly is or even if he's within ten thousand miles of this city. As for Tri-edge, Rashede was very vague on that. It could be a person, an artifact, or even an organization. I don't know. The only thing I can tell you is that there's a chance that El-skieth is, or was, at least, seeking it." he folded his fingers back in front of him. "This was a while ago, understand, but if he's still searching for it...well, finding it, may help you locate him." he gave a shrug. "Beyond that... I don't believe I know of anything else that could be of help."

(((You're more than welcome to ignore his comments(Akakios's comments to begin conversation)) and suddenly we are at the place of Xen's kidnapping. xd ))) Edit: And waiting for Azura sounds like a splendid idea. I'll post again after Azura posts. biggrin Akakios An Gaurdious Burnstein Akakios opened his mouth to speak, to rebuttal the woman telling him not to concern himself. But, he saw that flicker in her eyes, that flicker he knew all too well, it had burned sharply within him from time to time. His lips pressed softly together as he gave no more noise of protest, and only a slight chuckle passing his lips as she admitted she was mad. "Well, Maddest Eve as a soldier I salute you in your bravery." He brought his hand to his forehead, swiping away with a firm salute as his eyes gave a joke of attention as they looked ahead. His straight face returning back into a sweet smile as he turned to her. "What do you suppose that fellow wanted with Xen?"

(( Sorry to have her leave, I uh... yea.)) Violetta's eyebrow rose in a slight smirk. "And what if I don't?" she said absently as though bored, eyes trailing along the buildings exterior as she waited for some sort of response. Her eyes flickered to his face once more when he sighed, the ghost of a smile passing across her petite features. "At least you're willing to get knocked out for this... girl... yes?" she nodded as though that were a rather gentleman-ly thing to do, smiling quietly before sighing.
It seemed that conversation was over... Xenon had turned his attention back on Maka, who was easily ignoring Violetta. It was irritating beyond belief for the redhead. HE'D asked HER to come along, then hadn't so much as glanced at her this whole time! That horrible, awful... stupid... She stopped that train of thought when they began speaking, her eyes regarding them quietly. It was evident that she decided it wasn't important to her... these were just two very strange men who were talking about something maybe even more strange then they.
Clearing her throat quietly (so as not to interuppt) the redhead watched with a raised eyebrow as Maka poured alcohol into two tiny cups, passing one to Xenon. She snorted despite herself, blushing in embarrassment. Seriously though... why would he be drinking? It would only make his mind weak, which would eventually make his magic weak as well. It was just... Rolling her eyes quietly she leaned against the doorframe, eyebrow raising idly.
Neither of those names were familiar to her.
In fact, this conversation was becoming more and more boring. Puffing out her cheeks she suddenly turned on her heels, not even bothering to see how this conversation turned out. Just as silently as ever she vanished, no longer standing in the doorway. "No matter, not like I'll see those two every again." she muttered to herself absently, pulling the cloak around her body a bit tighter as she slipped down the alley-way. Hmm. She wouldn't, would she?
Pushing that thought from her mind she soon found herself in the throngs of people once more, the hand under her cloak clutching her coin purse. No one else would be taking this from her... no one. She'd find that little brat and pop his head, too... Ignoring the homicidal thoughts floating through her mind she couldn't help but glance back down the alleyway, wondering how Xenon and Maka would fare. Would they settle their differences? Would they- Wait... she didn't care. Why should she?
Sighing quietly the redhead slipped into the crowd of people, vanishing with the sea as she made certain her hood was pulled over her hair.

(( emotion_jawdrop What comments? Which ones where? Who's talking to who? And about arriving at where Xen is, yeah, I think we should probably do that as soon as Azura has his chance to make his next post.)) Eve Prier~Eve gave a somewhat oblivious expression. "I don't know...there's really no telling with Xen." she lifted a brow considering the matter. "Xen and I only reunited a few months ago, before that...well...I don't really know much of anything about what his life in Wendel was like." This was, oddly enough, completely true about Xen's life even before he came to stay with her family. Besides the boy's time with her when they were children, she knew next to nothing of her friends life. It had really never struck her before. She didn't even know what had happened to his apparently absent parents. She could recall making an inquiry about the matter once when they were children, but had recieved no answer. " He's been away for a good many years now." she gave a somewhat exasperated smile. "And knowing him I wouldn't be surprised if he's made a few enemies..." after all the boy had an unusaul ability for either making people like him...or hate him. There was very little middle ground. She returned her gaze to Bellius however, a small frown returning to her face. "I'm not sure though...that's not really the feel that I got from him. I think we should probably keep an eye on him anyway, though...like I said...I don't trust him."

000000Maka "Noctis" Oblivion "Life's a drag, your a nuisance, just another day in life." When Xen mentioned Tri-edge, he gripped his right arm almost instinctively. He quickly removed his hand from his arm. "So, that's what he was after..." He muttered to himself. Maka remembered every moment of what had happened then. ~---~Flashback:~---~ "Your still alive? Pity, you should be dead. I should kill you for what you've done." A dark voice spoke from a figure standing over a half-dead Maka lying on the cold stone temple floor. "Why... Why would you do this?" The bloody Maka asked, causing the other, standing figure to smile. He reached down and grabbed Maka's right wrist, revealing a rune floating over his hand. "Evangilion's curse. Welcome to hell kid." That day, he had suffered more pain then anyone could have in their lifetime, or so he says. The arm was covered now, wrapped with bandages and covered, hiding whatever was underneath. He noticed that the girl was gone as well. "Hmph, so the girl has left. Oh well, guess she wont get a place to sleep & warm food." He sighed, taking his mind off of the current mood and checking the meat.
"As I had agreed with your girlfriend, I'll bring you back tomorrow at noon. Until then..." He paused as he took the sticks with meat on them. "Better find a way to pass the time." He finished as he handed on of the sticks to Xen. Just because he was a thief, that didn't mean he was pure evil, not like Skeith, that is...

Akakios An Gaurdious Burnstein Akakios gave a nod to Eve's discontentment, the words easily flowing out of his mouth, as if he had said these words many times for many years, a speech that has been perfected over the years. "And in that distrust you are wise." The two in front of them seemed to be directing towards one building, and Akakios, upon seeing this picked up his pace. His voice in a whisper as if they were sneaking up on the two in front, forgetting for a moment they were "helping" them, with two such seemingly criminals you tend to forget any good deeds they have done or are currently in form of completion. "I think they found him."

(( xd Were you trying to spell Evangelion Azura? Maybe Evangeline? Evangilion sounds like some sort of awesome mix between the two. Age old scottish vampire, meets clerical, symbolism filled, mind bending, sci-fi, s**t. Just. Got. Real. emotion_awesome Also an additional note to what I said earlier about other languages, remember that names don't have to be in italics. ...I'm sure this won't be a vague hint to something in the following post... wink Also as a little addendum I didn't really get around to because it isn't pertinent yet, ((only my people have their rivals on the board)), but the in-tune among the Six will be able to feel it when they're opposite draws close. Something to keep in mind when we introduce them... not from TO great a distance but...well I did it here as an example. When they're in the same general area. This effect is also triggered only after one of the six acquires a certain...personal item, that will become significant plot-wise before our time in Vanguard is up. Ahem, xd That is all. )) Eve Prier~~Xenon Zurander Xenon gave a slight chuckle at Maka's statement, wondering just how exactly this older boy's mind worked. Regardless. "That won't be necessary. I'm quite capable of finding Eve under my own power." he stood from his seat, dusting himself off slightly. "Besides, knowing her Ladyship, she'll most likely be ripping the streets apart looking for me, unless she's given a positive direction to follow. I may not be her romantic interest, as you and others assume, but I fear I AM her only friend. And...well...I believe you saw what she's capable of once she get's riled yes?" he gave a slight grin. "Jests aside, I again certainly hope you find this friend you're looking for, Mister Maka." he raised a brow humorously "And also as a casual reminder, the next time you require information from me, do try asking before you resort directly to kidnapping hm? I'll see you la-" but suddenly his expression turned into one of surprise, no, shock, as a strange sensation passed across his awareness.
Immediately his eyes turned towards the door, narrowing in a slightly wary annoyance. "Oh of course...because my day just HAD to get even worse didn't it..." he said seemingly at random, only for a rather erratic knocking to sound at the door...only for it to burst open as though kicked in, a rather familiar, to Xenon, at least, set of faces on the other side.
"Knock knock." came the rather gleeful tones of Bellius, a surprised Eve and Alouette just behind him in the door frame, Akakios with them.
"Xen!" called both girls in unison, only for Alouette to send her sister a rather scathing look.
Xenon was pleased to see Eve, of course, and pleasantly surprised to see Second Lady Alouette, however a rather dark gaze was passing them both by, locking directly with the figure in the center of his "rescue" team.
"Lady Eve, Lady Alouette, Sir Akakios. Fancy meeting you here. I was just about to come find you." his deceptively calm tone was level as he continued to stare with something close to animosity at the Cheshire grinning mercenary. "It seems that the whole kidnapping business was really just a misunderstanding. Mister Maka and I have just been discussing the matter."
Eve looked slightly bug eyed. "Wha...what? Misunderstanding!? But he attacked us!! In a bar full of innocent people!! That's-"
"As if you were in any position to judge the actions of others." Alouette cut in with a touch of venom in her tone.
Xenon waved this aside. "Oh really now Eve you musn't let such little things get to you. What's a few kidnappings between friends?" he returned to his hard stare at Bellius "But oh, what's this?" his frown intensified "It seems that you've picked up some trash on your shoes on your way to come to my rescue...how unfortunate." Eve and Alouette seemed surprised, both following his gaze to Bellius, who merely began to chuckle, walking a few steps into the shack, twirling the staff as he did so.
"Oh Xenny...that's so harsh. There are some things that just shouldn't be said...even between friends. Chi chi chi."
"Quartus." Xenon said with a somewhat resigned tone, the staff flying out of the blondes hand, and comfortably into his own. "To what do I owe the pleasure, Bel?"
"Chi chi chi..." Bellius placed his hands back into his pockets. "Oh it's Bellius these days...I think it goes with my new hair color, you know?" he ran a hand through his long bangs, his disturbing smile ever wide. "and it's really just a social call. I was here to see you and I found one of your toys you left lying around, so I thought I'd return it to you..." his eyes behind his bangs seemed...deeper, more alert then his jester's facade suggested "Oh...and I found your Staff as well." 000000Maka "Noctis" Oblivion "Life's a drag, your a nuisance, just another day in life." Oh, how could he forget Eve's scary destructive power. "How could I forget?" He replied with a chuckle. When the door was kicked in, Maka quickly jumped to his feet, hand on his sword's grip. Three... No, four figures entered. Two armored girls, what looked like a nobleman and... Well, the other guy who kinda reminded him of himself. He listened as Xen explained the situation, and remained silent. Didn't want to say the wrong thing.
"A nobleman, two female soldiers, (one with a scary amount of strength, not to forget), and... Well, the other guy." Maka thought as he removed his hand from the grip of his sword, but kept it close in case things went south. But how did they find him? Well, in the current situation, might as well ask.
"So, how did you find us here?" He asked, not bothering to cover it up with small pleasantries and small talk. He took a bite out of the meat that had been on the stick, then threw the wooden stick back into the flame without looking back. He didn't know if it went in, nor did he care. (OCC: Nope, the name is exactly what it is. cat_3nodding You'll understand when things get really serious.)

Akakios An Gaurdious Burnstein Akakios gave a puzzled look to Xen's contentment, and couldn't help but toss his head to the heavens and let out a loud laugh to the group that continued on about their team of tension. His laughter began to subside after several moments, breathing a sigh as one last snort blew out his nose, right as Bellius mentioned his staff. "My, you are a strange lot aren't you?" His focus turned to the previous kidnapper-now friend-as he inquired of how they came to find him. He pointed to the staff that Xen had just reclaimed. "Bellius claims the staff led to it's proper hands."

(( emotion_eyebrow I think I'm going to be sweeping Alouette and Bellius out of the public eye for now, until they're really needed... muhaha, so this will be a bit of a long post. Just to sort out matters. Afterwards we can talk about what to do between the others. We still haven't really set things up for the event here in Vanguard to take place, so we can either get started on that, or plan out a few little side adventures, like Ainia's business with the kid and Violetta's kidnapping, stuff such as that.)) Eve Prier~~Xenon Zurander Eve was giving a small frown now for multiple reasons, the first of which, was at the fact that this...Maka person, was off the hook just like that. She didn't really hold grudges after a matter was settled very often, but in her eyes the matter was FAR from settled. How on earth was attacking them something that could be misunderstood in any way...if they'd not been skilled, he may very well have killed them earlier!
Then her gaze followed Xen's to Bellius, Eve herself actually slowly circling about to stand with Xen, her hand still gripped unto the hilt of her mace. Of all the people she knew, even some of whom she hated to the point that she couldn't stand, she'd never once known Xenon to show active dislike for people...even people she knew him too not to care for. He would still always meet them with a smile... save THIS young man it seemed. That was quite possibly more unsettling then her own distrust of him had been.
The Last reason of course, was the realization that now that they had found Xen...her duel with her sister was most likely not even moments away...
Xenon gave a slight nod of acknowledgement at Akakios's explanation. "Yes..." he gripped the staff tightly now, clear distaste still in his gaze as he glared at Bellius. "he's the only one to my knowledge who could use it to find me in such a way... how annoying..." he seemed to dismiss the young man's presence now as he instead turned, curiousity finally breaking through, to Alouette. "Lady Alouette...it IS you is it not? It has been a long time."
Alouette's somewhat hard expression softened ever so slightly, even if it was still close on to stern. "Indeed...it is good to see you safe, Xenon." the girl gave a gentlemanly bow, like a knight bowing before a lady of noble background. "I was concerned when I heard that you had been abducted, I am pleased that you came to no harm."
Xenon gave a slightly humored chuckle at the girl's behavior. "Oh really now milady, you needn't be so formal with but a lowly servant such I, particularly now that I'm an ex-criminal."
"An Ex-criminal Blasphemer," Bellius added helpfully, apparently enjoying himself.
"Quite." Xenon said looking back to Bellius, slightly less humored but still admitting. "At least I can't fault you for having a sense of humor."
"That is not true, Xenon," Alouette interjected. "I do not care for the goddess or her justice...condemning you for merely learning sorcery...it is something with which I do not abide. And besides..." she seemed to grow slightly awkward. "You were always a friend to me...not a servant."
Eve began to open her mouth, trying to say something, trying to say that she had always felt the same, as she had so many times before, but her sister's sudden look stopped her.
"Which is why...I ask you not to interfere with what is about to happen..." she rose to her full height, reaching for the weapon behind her. "The time has come for you face justice, Sister." she added the addendum with malice.
Xenon's face turned into one of surprise, looking between the two and immediately taking a step closer to his companion, "Wait a moment...what is the meaning of-"
"Please Xen... it's alright." Eve's face was resigned as the sorcerer turned to look at her bewildered, "I agreed to duel her...this...has been a long time coming."
"By what excuse for logic?" Xenon demanded looking exasperated. "I know you both are thick skulled but by what madness do you think starting a fight, leaving out all together starting a fight in the middle of a city heavily patrolled by elite soldiers, if a GOOD idea?" he looked to Alouette "Lady Alouette..."
Alouette though didn't seem as though she intended to be prevented from her goal, her face set. "I am sorry Xenon...but when I've won you'll understand...she's only ever acted out of selfish motivation! It's all her fault what happened to Mother...all this trouble we've faced back home...and even before that..." she drew the spear from behind her back. "It's her fault that Father died!"
Eve's face looked suddenly as though she'd been slapped across the face.
"I will bring her to justice on my own...I don't require the words of a corrupt goddess to do so...I don't require the hand of any law...I will stand and fight her and prove once and for all just what she is!!"
Xenon was looking neutral now, his face enigmatic. "Bel...why do I get the distinct impression you had something to do with this."
"Good old healthy paranoia." Bellius informed brightly "Chi chi, but really I'd nothing to do with it. I was merely responding to call of a comrade. She came to these conclusions on her own."
Eve was still looking slightly saddened now by her sister's words. Was that how Alouette felt...? Was this how she'd always felt...?
"Comrade...?" Xenon looked skeptical at this term, but only for a moment, before lifting a brow musingly. "Bel, this city is in the middle of something...this battle would only attract attention to us that we don't need. If our ladies have a score to settle...then let them settle it elsewhere."
Bellius seemed to begin stroking his chin thoughtfully, while Alouette merely shook her head. "No...I will not be denied...not now..."
"Deal."
"Wha-" Alouette turned looking annoyed with her partner, only him to snap his fingers, a rune craved into the back of the girl's armor suddenly glowing to life as he muttered.
"Sleep."
The rest of the runes inscribed across the girl's black armor all glowed to life at once, the runes desgined for protection against spells now turning in upon the user...as though they'd been designed that way. Xenon merely lifted a brow in slight admiration, even if it was reluctant. He'd enchanted Alouette's Crysias armor himself then...allowing him easy access to it, even going to so far as to add a sleep rune for his personal use near the back of the neck...how very LIKE him.
"H-huh...?" Eve merely seemed confused by the sudden turn, her sister almost immedaitely collapsing into a rather peaceful looking slumber.
Bellius gave the hand symbol for "okay", his smile still wide. "It wouldn't be fun to catch you all this quickly anyway. Chi chi chi..." he knelt down, holding out his hand. "Oh spirits of metal, scions of processed earth, assist me now, become as light as the sir itself...Unburden." before, with a rather effortless move, lifting the heavily armored girl over his shoulder without any sort of trouble in the slightest.
Eve took a step forward. "No, wait! Xen, I told you that I agreed to this! I-"
"You'd agree to a duel with a Dragon," Xenon interjected, looking at the girl with a somewhat weary skepticism. "merely because you accept a challenge doesn't mean it's wise to have done so. If you truly wish to fight Lady Alouette, a mad enough idea on it's own," he stated, unknowingly agreeing with Akakios "then please for the love of all that is holy find a more opportune setting." he looked back to Bellius. "Women and there fighting."
Bellius merely shrugged, "Chi chi chi...oh Xenny, you really are just a card." he gave Akakios and a Maka a tip of a non existent hat as he turned, walking around the good prince. "Say, did you know that 4 happens to be a number most commonly attributed to Lightning...?" Xenon suddenly fell into a pensive frown. "It's the symbol for the Star Jupiter, you see...also known as Zeus, the patron of lightning." he looked back, his normal smile subdued into a more...normal one. "The funny thing about lightning is that even though it always takes the path of least resistance...passing through some things harmlessly, while leaving others charred and burned in its wake, it always finds it's way to the ground." he gave his head a tilt, revealing one of his eyes behind his long bangs. "No matter how far it tries to conduct itself...no matter how it tries to escape this fate...it always finds ground, always strikes for the earth, meeting it's inevitable destiny..."
Both Xenon and Eve were looking a little tense now, trying to interpret the hidden meaning behind the odd young man's words.
"We're the same...Xenny." his smile still seemed almost unlike him in how normal it was. "We chosen of 4, can only run for so long...eventually...we'll have to face the earth." he turned about, stolling merrily now with Alouette in hand. "With the question is...what is your earth...hm? Is it Hero girly there...?" he gave a broader smirk again, even as he faced away from them all. "I look forward to seeing that... see you around Xenny! I've got to get my little Alley here somewhere else before she wakes up...chi chi chi, she's going to be MAD at me." he sounded like he was looking forward to it, his retreating figure heading off down the back alley and out into the distant shifting crowd of passersby...vanishing from sight...
Eve almost immediately turned to look inquisitively at Xenon "Okay...who WAS that guy...?"
Xenon merely gave a sigh, looking as though he suddenly had a slight headache. "His is...well...Bellius, it seems for now." he returned to a calmer expression. "He's nothing much to worry about. He's a pest...but he's saner then he seems, and is a logical sort. For exaple he knew there was nothing to be gained by fighting here. Suffice to say that you don't want him as an enemy...but I don't think there's too much danger of that...he seems to like you."
Eve looked somewhat creeped out all of a sudden. "W-wait what...? But...how can you tell...?"
"I can tell." Xenon merely stated absolutely, looking no to pleased about it however. "He likes me too. It's the nickname he gives you, you see. If it ends in the suffix sound of Y, (ee)."
Eve seemed unsettled still. "How do you know him...?"
Xenon seemed to fall silent for a moment. "I'd rather not talk about it. I knew him even before I knew you...and that's all you need know."
Eve looked slightly thrown. He'd known that guy since they were children...? Xenon had been very young when he'd first come to their estate... now she was even MORE curious... NPC (Inspector) Alouette Prier~ ~NPC (Inspector) Bellius

Mmm, the city was rather sprawling, wasn't it? It reminded her slightly of Seirun, which of course made a rather dark look cross over Violetta's face. She'd rather not think about that place right now... it didn't support her best of memories. Actually, there really weren't any good memories from Seirun, except maybe Rose. Rose had always been uncommonly nice to Violetta, despite the uh... the circumstances. Sighing softly at the thought the redhead zoned out completely, wandering through the crowd at a slow pace. She got knocked out of the way a couple of times but didn't seem to notice... she was too far delved into her pool of memories.
However scarce they might be.
At some point she had been wandering quite a bit, eventually snapping out of her dreamland and finding herself someplace she didn't recognize. Which could be anyware, considering she hadn't been to Vanguard before... and she'd only been inside the great walled city for what, maybe two hours? Probably not even that much, that was a pretty generous assumption. Pouting slightly she looked around, head tilted back a tad as she tried to at least figure out where she was. It was impossible, she was totally lost. Dammit.
Puffing out her cheeks a tad she suddenly gasped, her whole shoulder wrenched back as someone rammed straight into her. Stumbling she fell on her bottom, hood falling back against her back and revealing the doll face hidden behind the curls of red. "What the hell! Watch where you're going!" she shot off rather quickly, eyes trailing up the form of a person. Thin legs, a curvy middle... A... chest..? Was that the Cardinal Knights symbol on her chest? W-wait... wait a second...
"Oh, I'm sorry Miss... did I hur-" the woman looked down at the same time Violetta's eyes found her face. Both women paled considerably... Violetta out of fear, the woman out of shock and anger. "Y-You!" The woman accused blatantly, reaching to grab Violetta. "DON'T TOUCH ME!" Violetta shrieked rather loudly, the woman jerking back. This gave the redhead enough time to scramble to her feet and shoot off... The woman was not far behind.
Dammit, dammit, DAMMIT!
