Dundee nodded understandingly. "Water's a cruel mistress. Arell and I grew up around it." he said with a shrug as they walked along. Arell smirked at Dundee.
"Yeah, Crys' showed me dat one time, che'. It's kinda cool!" Arell said. Which reminded him, it'd be good to let C.J. and Crystal know he was okay.

"Kinda cool? Kinda?"
Kai shrugged as she continued walking. If it weren't for the bright shimmering lights and crowds of people she would have dozed off by now already.
"You can call them when you get a room Arell. Probably the best idea. And I think after this, we spend some time at the Manor. That is unless the JLA needs my help at the space station. I'm so used to the station that I can pretty much defrag, reprogram, trouble shoot, and fix all the systems that are up there."
"Ouch, they probably don't even know what I'm talking about." She thought. She internally sighed feeling completely different from these two guys. It really was like they were from different worlds, not that they weren't. But really, completely opposite parts of their respective worlds. She still felt uncomfortable around Arell, probably the biggest reason she didn't want to stay in a room with him other than the obvious safety reasons.

Dundee smirked. "So you have a top-runnin' computer system up there. Are y'all still using a five thousand-bit processor to operate the teleportation device between the Satellite and the Cave?" Dundee asked, leaping right into the nuts and bolts of the computer stuff as Arell looked at them.
"Eh, Computers're Dundee's thang. I'd ratha see de propulsion system dat holds her at de steady holdin' pattern." Arell said. It was clear that they were smarter than the eye perceived.

Kai looked at Dundee. She was surprised that he would be interested in technology at all.
"Oh, it's top notch and I think the processing has been far upgraded from that. As for the slideways it still teleports from the cave to the station still."
They reached the base of the hotel and Kai hopped a escalator down towards the inside of the MGM grand with her friends coming behind her.
"I really don't like teleportation there but it beats riding in a ship which sucks even worse than teleporting... man I hate flying if it's not by air Cardinal..."

Dundee looked at Kai with a funny look.
"Has to be custom. Something of that prestigious power is decades away from being released to the public. Then again, the power source alone probably has to be big enough to not only keep the station in orbit, but generate enough power . . . " Dundee mused, doing the math rapidly in his head. "s**t, that satellite could power Pittsburgh for a century!" he said as Arell raised an eyebrow.
"He kin do dat, but I still cain't get him t' shoot straight. Maybe ya can get him t' be a liiiii'l mo' practical?" Arell asked Kai as they walked, the three entering the big resort.
"Don't feel bad, Kai. We're not fans of teleportation either." Dundee said with a smirk as Arell rolled his eyes.
"Woun' up with a crossed wire an' dis idjit threw us back in 1963 for three weeks! Flyin' with you? Much safer dan some of dose death-traps he invents." Arell growled as Dundee shrugged.
"What? Not my fault you offered to test the prototypes! Is that wrong?" Dundee asked.
"Dat's what de psycho's for!" Arell replied, referring to C.J.
"PSYCHO?!? Why I oughta . . ."

"Maybe I can teach Dundee how to use a batarang or something..."
She shrugged to Arell. Who she still had mixed feelings about. After they were done talking she felt a change of subject to put some things in perspective. She was one to think seriously while jokingly at the same time. Sure there was time for joking but she was so weak and tired from all that IO business that it transitioned from not even being able to make punny business to not being able to think positively on the world's situation.
"At least you two got each other in this world. I can imagine how many others feel without their family and friends... until the JLA finds out how to restore everything. And we don't even have a full JLA-"
Her voice was rather calm, timidly quiet, yet serious. Kai started thinking...if all of her new friends here could possibly help a world fix. None of them exactly have access to kryptonian technology, martian telekinesis, amazonian strength, funds, godpowers of marvel, magical capabilities of zatarra or anything.
"The league is the league for a reason... I just recently joined as a junior member but I can't fix this world alone. And you two don't even have powers, alien or otherworldly technological know-how, or magical items that I am aware of. Of everyone I know that's in this world I don't think we have the power to fix things. Not yet. Who's to say that the world will not fall apart from the stress before we receive the power we need? Let alone IO messing everything up to no benefit to themselves or this world!"
Okay, time to give Kai a nap. By the end of her added thought her voice had gotten a bit louder and more upset. She gestured her hand to the entrance of the MGM. Any onlooker would think she was having a bad gambling night.

Arell nodded. "Thanks. 'Cause him with a gun is one of the few thangs I'm legitimately terrified of." Arell said quietly. Sure he was big, sure he was tough, but what scared him above all else is if his stepbrother got hurt on the job. If Arell himself got thrown in a woodchipper, he wouldn't care. If they threw DUN' in the woodchipper, the enemies would become organ donors.
"Well, let's work on fixing the situations at hand . . . after YOU get some shuteye, Kai." Dundee said as they came up to the lobby to check in.

Kai glared at Dundee a little and then looked to the front desk.
"Do I really seem that tired?"
Kai pulled out her batcard ready to pay for any room in the upper levels of the hotel. Hopefully with the card she could get a nicer room to relax in.
"I'll get my room first and see you guys later tonight or morning... whenever."

Dundee smiled. "I pick up on that sorta thing. Mind if we talk after you're rested up?" he asked as Arell shot him a funny look and shrugged. Well this is gonna be interesting to watch through. he thought as he paid for his and Dundee's room with a big wad of cash. "See ya in de mornin'." he said to the others and went off . . . not towards the room, but towards a quiet spot to make a phone call. He got his phone and found Crystal's Number.

Kai walked up to Dundee as they headed for the elevator and looked to him with a tired expression keeping her key with her.
"Room 1802... 18th floor. In the morning, and make sure either of you call me if anything is up. As I will call you guys..."
She said as she hit the up elevator button. It was kinda weird checking into a hotel with little belongings. Used to traveling with the titan's and Bruce where she would pack plenty for a mission plus plenty of clothes and other necessities. Kai looked around keeping her eyes an almost anything that caught her attention.

Dundee nodded. "Arell and I are 713 and 759 respectively. I'll keep ya posted, sugar. Probably best to keep the big guy calm. G'night." he said with a smile and waited for the same elevator. Dundee, while Kai was looking around her, kept calm and almost sedate, an earthly soul who looked like he seen it all and done it all . . . which wasn't far from the truth for someone who lived in a Railroad car for three months out of the year. He decided against it and took the stairs. Whistling a tune.

Just after Dundee had taken the stairs the elevator showed up she hopped on taking the elevator to her floor. She made her way slowly to her room, without Arell and Dundee there she realized how hurt that crystal had really turned her. She opened the door to her room with the slide card key and then walked in shutting the heavy wooden door shut, locked. At this point she stumbled a bit to her bed, kicking her heels off and falling onto the bed. "Kane, your soul is lost. And so is mine. I'll die in this world before I become human again-" she murmured to herself holding her wrist under the lamp as she rolled over in the bed. "This Garfield knows a younger me, and most of my team is only a copy, or counterpart of another world. Better than being alone though."
Kai reached into her bag and pulled out her communicator and pressed a few speed dials to get Robin on the line. She waited until he answered keeping the screen on holding it up with her good hand as she laid on her back on the hotel bed. "Come on Robin..."

Arell finished up his phone call and went back up into his room. He caught up with Dundee as they walked up.
"Hey, che'. You a'right?" Arell asked Dundee, who was thinking about something.
"Yeah . . . it's just . . . I think I'm kinda falling for Kai. I mean, it's just a little scary, y'know?" Dundee explained as best they could as they got up to their floor.
"C'mon, Dun'. Seems t' me like you an' I should get a li'l bondin' time." he said as he got to his room, letting Dundee inside as he made a pot of coffee.

Kai had her phone at the ring for a few moments waiting for Tim to answer. That and the signal was rather weak for anything she's ever had to dial before. It wasn't like she was trapped in a lead cave. Just as she felt she may have broken her communicator she started receiving an incoming call from BeastBoy. She waited a second or two looking as the call waited before hitting the dial answer on her communicator.
"Hello Gar. Anything up on your end?"

Meanwhile, Arell and Dundee were in Arell's hotel room, the duo sitting down with the two drinking a pot of coffee dry.
"Well, che', tell me what's on ya mind." Arell suggested. He had his jacket off and his weapons well-hid, so it was almost like watching two country boys getting together and talking.
"Well, I guess with all that's gone on, well, I've kinda been joggin' the idea of asking Kai out on a date when all this stuff's behind us . . . but I don't really know what to say. I mean . . . she's awesome . . . and, well I guess I've always been that goofball who'd be lucky to get something done RIGHT, y'know?" Dundee explained as Arell listened, taking a drink of his coffee.
"I never thought you were off THAT bad, li'l bro. Hell, yer the one Ma an' Mr. J.T. looked up t'. Outta de two of us, you de one wit' de education. I know daddy'd be proud of ya." Arell said, hugging his step-brother a little as they were on the couch of the hotel room. "I know fo' sho' y'all gonna be a good couple." he said with a smile. "Just be yerself."
