So it turns out krakens don't really like being burned and then sequentially bitten. I know. Who'd have known?
The kraken flicked its injured arm, and Danny went flying, landing in the sand with a dull thud. For a moment she just sat there and groaned, but after having sand in her face for a while, she decided to get up (still complaining, mind you).
"You're gonna get it!" she shouted, marching over to the kraken. She then proceeded to stomp on it. Take that.

Danny was starting to get tired of this game. Her stomps became less effective, and her arms swung a little less. Still, she tried!
"Get away from our castle!" Yeah. The voice was definitely still working. If a day ever came when Danny was quiet, we were all screwed.

Half the fish were gone. Bea was losing hope for her castle, as bit by bit was collapsing on impact.
Tentacle slamming down on the castle, over and over again. Bea couldn't take it much longer.

 Bea was tired and so were her fish. Her face was stinging from all the sand rubbing up against her. "I don't think I can go on... Gene! It's up to you!" And with that, Bea's face planted into the castle and laid there like a beached whale. She was literally planking in the sand.

Danny sagged heavily as the kraken went back into the ocean. It was FINALLY retreating, thank Jack. Their castle still had a chance! The western wall was completely down, and Bea was faceplanting in the middle, but other than that it really didn't look too bad. Maybe they could still win!
Then the kraken's lumpy tentacle came back and smashed the castle in one hit, as if to spite them for all the efforts they had put in.
At first Danny was worried about Bea, but she was still sitting there just fine. The kraken had swiped horizontally, so Bea was untouched.
Still, it left her depressed. She'd bitten that disgusting thing to save the castle, and all their work had been for nothing! Danny flopped onto the ground, and gave a weak, "Bea you okay?"  ((Just as a reference, REMAINING HP OF BOSS: 40 REMAINING HP OF CASTLE: 66 (then crushed by kraken) = 0))

Gene wasn't aware of what had just happened. Apparently, Krakens are rather tricky, and can flick a fish in a way that makes it bounce off a palm tree and come at your head like a high speed bullet. A bullet that knocks you out, and leaves you smelling like nasty fish. Awesome, right?
Yup, not awesome. Her eyes opened at the exact time the Kraken had its rage moment, completely crushing their castle. So. Much. Suck.
She crawled over to where the other two were, a look of deep shame in her eyes. "Sorry gals..." She couldn't offer much more, other than looks of sympathy and depression. They had tried so hard too....

Roch hesitated at the edge of the group, his hands in his pockets, a slight frown on his face. This was probably the LAST group he should be peeking in on. He was still fighting with Danny, last he checked, and the other two? Ghosts.
Roch still had a few issues with ghosts, although he'd been working on it.
But... well... they looked so jackin' depressed, he thought guiltily. There had to be something he could do--to at least cheer Danny up, if nobody else, right?
"Hey," he said quietly, not sure if they heard him or not.

Danny looked up at the voice- a kneejerk reaction really- and was surprised to see the purple-headed boil standing there. Her eyes immediately fell though, and she gave a loud moan. She was extremely beat from the kraken fight, and now she had to listen to Roch talk about his great team. Even from here, she could see that their castle was still pretty much intact. Sloppy, messy, and rather beat up- but still intact.
For now, she'd let the other ghouls talk to him. The sand was feeling very comfortable right now.

"Hey, Danny," he said. "I can leave if you wanna ignore me. But... you okay?" There was some worry in his voice. "Cuz... yeah. That really sucked. I'm... y'know... sorry."
Then he turned on his heel, staying that way, ready to walk if she didn't say anything.

Danny held her breath for a moment. She could just not say anything and he would go away. The problem would be dealt with. That's exactly what she would do. Ignore Roch and he'd be sad and he'd leave her alone.
... Jackdammit, she knew she couldn't do that.
"My wings kinda hurt," she said, turning her head in the sand to at least face him, even if her eyes were only half open. Getting flung by the kraken wasn't exactly dandy when she landed on her back. The base of her tail sort of hurt too, but it was just a bruise. Not as bad as the smashed wing. That would go away with a good night's sleep too, but for now it was dully aching.

He jerked, then turned, heading for her, ignoring the two ghosts and crouching down beside her. "Which one?" he asked. "Or is it both?" He summoned his guitar, getting ready to heal her. At least this was something he could do, he thought. He hoped. If it was too bad he might have to take her to Cricket... "Are they broken or just bruised up?" he asked.

"I'm fine," she said gruffly, stirring a little and touching his arm lightly.She gestured to Bea and said, "I think she's more beat up than me." Bea did sit in that castle the entire time, rallying her fish friends. She'd put in a lot of work, and deserved a good nap!
A little more darkly, Danny added, "Besides, shouldn't you be helping your own team?" Though she didn't say it, the name Edel was hanging quite thickly in the air.
She tried to adjust the way she was laying, but her wings weren't in the mood for adjustments. Danny let out a tiny breath of dissatisfaction, but didn't say anything about it.

"Buncha idiot second year guys," Roch summed up. "They'll be fine. C'mon, at least let me help you move," he told her, reaching to give her a hand. "That jackin' Kraken stole my crab. I had it all planned, too, we were gonna roast that sucker and have a little party. At that size he was HUGE, y'know?"
Besides, the one she pointed to was a ghost. They didn't have bones to break!

Danny's eyes flicked over to Roch's castle again. Rikki was okay right? Danny had nearly forgotten about him in all the hysteria that had happened with the kraken. Well it Roch was walking around over here, Rikki was probably okay. Roch wouldn't just leave a bro like that, right?
Shaking her head, she said, "You would've just eaten it all." There wouldn't have been anything to share! You couldn't really have a party if one person was eating everything.
After a moment or two of awkward silence, she sighed and added, "Left wing."
