As the Zoroark disappeared, a Pidgeot appeared, a large green and white form silhouetted against the shimmering water. She beheld the scene momentarily with an expression of befuddlement, eventually emitting a slow, suspicious sound.
"Take it easy, Leste," Luke said, directing the bird's attention to the mouth of the cave with a nod of his head. "We're sorta trapped down here. Can you give us a lift to the other side of the water?"
Leste maintained her gaze on Asch for a short while yet before looking out across the river. It certainly didn't look all that far... She cooed in affirmation, turning so her back faced the pair and spreading her wings to allow for easier positioning. Luke moved to assist Asch in taking the leading position, "Here, less a chance of falling if you're on first."

Asch just stared back at Leste with a frown. He'd probably try to look a little more intimidating if he didn't look so pathetic. What with the bleeding and the broken limbs and all. Having to rely on his brother to help him. It certainly wasn't his best day, and definitely wouldn't be posing any sort of threat any time soon.
As he was instructed to get on first, the Rocket eyed the Pidgeot with a hint of wariness before moving to climb onto her back as best he could. Upon letting go of Luke, he grabbed a fistful of feathers and tried to hoist himself onto the flying type. Although it didn't go without some grunts and groans from obvious discomfort. Some fresh blood spattered onto Leste's pretty white feathers as well, but that wasn't really something he could help.

Leste clicked her beak disapprovingly at Asch's roughness, but Luke soothed her with a few quiet words. The bird's trainer climbed on after his brother, reaching his left arm for her neck to support himself while tucking his right against himself protectively. Maybe, if he were lucky, he would wake up soon in the bed of the hotel room - not streaked with dirt, not battered and bruised, and not with that damn arm giving him so much grief. Not likely. He recalled the waiting Tenebrae into his pokeball and gave Leste the signal to move.
The Pidgeot beat her large wings with great effort and managed to pull herself into the air. Her flight was staggering and drew a few calls of concern from her human, but in a few short moments the flying-type had cleared the river and alighted on the fresh grass that marked the outdoors proper. Luke dismounted from the transport with an expulsive sigh, offering a hand to help Asch descend more comfortably than he had ascended. He considered some comment about how they'd made it out alive but thought better of it - why jinx it now?

At some point during the flight over the river, Asch had faceplanted into Leste's neck and remained there. Thus no hand grasped Luke's as it reached out to him. He remained unmoving with the exception of shallow, labored breathing. Further inspection would find his countenance to be rather ashen, and blood staining the white feathers around his head.
Apparently Asch's silence had led to his strength giving out and he had fainted. While he was alive, it was clear that he needed medical attention and soon.

Any relief at being free of the tunnel network fled in the face of Asch's unresponsiveness. Luke looked for only a moment before turning and quickly surveying their surroundings-- There. Sandalwood wasn't far. The conscious of the brothers started quickly in its direction, beckoning for Leste to take to the air and follow - she would be swifter and more stable in her flight if she only carried one. The Pidgeot, aware of their destination, moved ahead of her human, and it was not long before the small entourage arrived in the city, allowing Luke to seek proper assistance.
