She smiled and let her hand be examined, fingers curling around the side of his hand once he was done. That had been a small demonstration, but for the most part any wounds could be healed in much the same way. There were exceptions to that rule but they were few and far between.
At the last bit she quirked an eyebrow and looked up from their joined hands to catch his gaze, clearly more than a little confused. "Althai?"

He winced. "Er, sorry. Althai is..." I'm a god! "He's a god, as it's been explained to me... several times." Smiling, a bit pained, he tugged at the collar of his jacket to show her the jewel at his collar. "I guess I'm going to end up like... them," he explained, gesturing to Glyph and Xun Jiang. His discomfort showed in the tremor in his voice, the narrowed eyes, but he played it off with the smile on his face. "I'm sorry, that's a bit heavy."

At first she didn't say anything, just staring at him with a sad expression on her face. Her hand gripped his a little tighter as she tried to ignore the fact it was trembling. "Like Illisia then..." She offered the thought aloud, not really meaning to. Her voice sounded hollow, tinted with a touch of despair.
She understood the necessity of it, but it still seemed a cruel way to go.

He wanted to ask who Illisia was, but his own curiosity could be well ignored in the face of the sorrow he seemed to have inflicted on Whisteria. "I'm sorry," he said, smiling at her a little crookedly. He hesitated for a moment, and then continued, "You look like you need a stiff drink."

She leaned close and wrapped her arms around him. "It isn't your fault, Aska. But a drink does sound like a good idea, so long as I'm not drinking alone." She let him go after a moment, managing a smile. The druidess hadn't touched alcohol for several years, drinking alone was no fun and never seemed to end well for her anyway.

When a woman hugged you, she tended to have forgiven you; he returned the embrace, wrapping his arms around her waist gently in a hold that could easily be broken. Whisteria let go, and he did, too; he turned, looking around. "Wish I knew my way around better," he remarked, a bit ruefully.

"You would know better than I do. Only place I know how to get to is where I'm staying." She reached for one of his hands again, smile brightening. "Guess the question is would you rather stay around here or go somewhere else." Shall we drink here and possibly make fools of ourselves in public or elsewhere, possibly more private, basically.
Come to think of it, if he wanted to go elsewhere she did have a bottle of Kaldorei liquor in with her belongings she had brought with her from Darnassus.

Glyph swayed along, listening to Music as he enjoyed the ambiance. "This was a good idea," he murmured to Xun, smiling as he blew on a wayward eyebrow that was getting caught in his beard. "I'd like you to meet some of the others after, as well. I think I saw another Night Elf and Elik too... are they back already? The expression on Elik's face was most amusing." He laughed softly, a rumbling in his chest as he swept Xun out and shifted around, allowing the other to lead. Forest wasn't particularly light on his feet but he thought he was doing well enough - he hadn't trampled the other's toes yet!

It was when the music flowed out into the market as a whole that Ashanti and Viira's attention alike was captured. The sound seemed to emanate from everything and nothing all at once, surprising the mortal and exciting the god.
There... what is that? The voice within seemed oddly interested by the sound and it made Viira grimace, "Music, you dolt."
I KNOW that, fool. I meant to what purpose. The snarky reply almost before Viira's response finished but it lacked the biting, scorching quality that so often accompanied his words in their frequent arguments. Perhaps an uneasy peace had been struck between them? Viira would not bow to his arrogance and Ashanti was learning - or so the Captain hoped.
She laughed at that thought - she, 'training' a god? ha! - and indulged Ashanti's curiosity as she caught sight of a group of individuals heading further into the market. Catching wind of the roasting meats on the way, the sailor's stomach grumbled and she patted it. The food here was not what she was used to, not remotely... she was still finding items that were difficult to digest or even to sample. But meat... maybe they had fish?
Upon arrival at the market party, they found the source of the music and several others gods peppered amongst a good number of mortals. Ah, a feast for the gods. How appropriate, ask which mortal arranged this to honour their betters. Viira grimaced at the order and, righting her captain's hat, the woman eyed the food laden tables for a moment before a searing wind swept across the back of her mind prompting her to get moving.

"Yes it was... If only for the look on your face, earlier." Xun Jiang let out a low rumble, more akin to a purr than anything else. Yes, that had been utterly and perfectly worth it.
...Wait, what was that, hooked up to Glyph's branches ? A... Oh.
Well, if one had no pockets... Through he had to repress the nervous itch to make sure his own gift was safe. The pocket was deep enough that it would not matter, but a part of him still wanted to make sure.
"Yes, they have come back already. The other night elf is Whisteria, his paternal aunt. She... knows about me, already, so all is well." More well than he had expected it to go, actually. Small blessings.
"Oh ?" He gave a quick scan for Elik in the crowd, but couldn't see him. "What, when he saw you ?" The dragon king could believe that much, really. Elik probably hadn't thought that the half-mortal form was not final, for them. His stubborn son hadn't stuck around for the explanations.
"Who else is around, that you know personally ?" Again, he was curious, and took the lead when it was offered - nothing too complicated to follow, a mimicry of the simple steps Leo had taught him.

Holding hands wasn't an onerous thing at all. Aska craved contact, and if someone was so willing to give it to him, he wasn't going to complain; he was just going to cup his fingers around hers gently and feel slightly self-conscious about the carpenter's calluses on his hands. "I think leaving would be the best thing to do," he considered; "If we're drinking to get drunk, I don't want to possibly ruin everyone else's party." Considerate! chimed Althai, helpful as ever. With his free hand, Aska rubbed the side of his head. "My apartment--my home--it's not too far away. And I do have plenty of drinks there, if you'd like to partake." After a moment, he edited, "Of course, if you'd like to go somewhere else, I wouldn't mind." Taking a woman onto your own turf in an unfamiliar place could be construed as threatening, especially back at home--but he wasn't there anymore, was he? Still, it was only polite to offer.

She wouldn't even notice the fact that his hands were rough, too many years as a soldier and a combat medic. He was considerate, that was something new. Some humans where she came from weren't quite so decent. "No, your place sounds fine." If it turned out to be a problematic, she could probably handle him. So why not?

"Then off we go," Aska found himself saying, smiling and tugging gently on her hand. With Whisteria in tow, they left the party.

He tensed as Xun spoke of Whisteria's relation only to sigh with relief - that was one knot he'd rather not have to be troubled by. Elik's rejection of Xun still stung... it warmed his heart to know that there was peace at least. A nod at the question, "Indeed. I'd like to speak to him... it's been some time. He and Adrienne went to visit the Night Elves. I hope they carry good news."
Glyph blinked and looked around, "Echo who is music. Ah..." he listed a few mortals and familiar faces before his expression went sour upon spotting Viira, but he said nothing about her or the God she carried.

"Adi will probably be able to let you know where he is, so you can talk to him... THey seem... Very close now, doesn't they ?" Xun Jiang's smile was impish, as he eyed where the two of them were standing, talking to a veiled god and his seemingly-mortal companion.
It was obvious that the match did not bother him at all, and... Well, even if it had, what could he do about it ? He had not even been able to talk to Elik after that night, shortly after he and Illisia had become one.
To know that Glyph would keep an eye on him - and perhaps even provide insight where he could not - was soothing.
The dragon king noticed his lover's expression change, which was mirrored by the rise of one long, feather-like eyebrow, but Xun Jiang did not pry. "I see... I would like to talk to them..." That impish grin returned, as he pressed closer to Forest. "...Later."
