LOTUS stumbled and half tripped into the office when Cole pushed her, her confused features suddenly replaced with the shock and fear that accompanied being thrust forward unceremoniously. Predictable to a fault, Precious tried to reach out to steady herself but only succeeded in entangling her feet in the strap of her messenger bag which fell down her arms, and with a series of small thuds, tumbled onto the floor awkwardly, onto her hands and knees. So used to this sort of happenstance, Precious sighed slightly and got up, brushing her knees, looking frankly at the lady who addressed her whilst she readjusted her bag. "Hello. Uhh," and for a second, Precious thought she was going to forget everything important ever, but, "Pr- Lotus Lexerton. Grade 9?" Her voice faltered a touch, so, with amusing resolve, she cleared her throat. The lady handed Precious her schedule, and she smiled happily. "Thank you!" She called as she drifted out of the room.

Precious looked at the girl - woman? - who confronted her as she went outside. There was no doubt about it, the sensualities of this person labelled her as beautiful. Everything about her was groomed to perfection, even her smile and manner. Seeing these things, Precious smiled and introduced herself with a beam. A fleeting and rare moment of misgiving crossed her mind, so often dormant, but she banished it. She barely knew the lady! So, resolutely, her eyes bright, she introduced herself. "Hello. I'm Precious. Nice to meet you." In her way that could have been offensive, but because it was her it really wasn't ever, Precious turned her smile on Cole, remembering that she had never answered his question. "You're really good at track, Cole, you should totally do it. You'll win everything!" Her little wind-chime laugh bubbled from her lips as her eyes sparkled.

xxxxx"It's the first day of school, and I'm not even dressed~"Randall hummed quietly as he milled around his room, flipping aside notebooks and sheet music as he searched for his lucky white guitar pick. He knew his sister was probably already in class and his dad would make him do a bajillion push-ups if he knew Randall had forgotten to set his alarm. But the day was cloudy, and instead of waking up with the sun like he usually did, he overslept like a normal teenager. Pulling his favorite H&M v-neck over his head and flattening the top of his hair, he grabbed the beat-up messenger bag under his desk and tried to be as silent as possible. A bout of yelling from his father right before school was not the way to start the day. After successfully sneaking out the back door so as not to alert his parents of his late exit, Randall broke into a sprint in the direction of Olympia High.
xxxxxThe sprint didn't last as long as it could have; one just doesn't sweat in H&M. A block from the school, Randall slowed to a walk, keeping his breath under control like his father had taught him so many years ago. As dull as military training was, it sure was helpful when running at full speed to the first day of sophomore year. Luckily, the line for personal schedules wasn't that long and he was able to hurry off to his first class. Algebra 2. Ew. The class was on the second floor, slowing him down, and the second attendance bell screeched overhead.
xxxxx"Good morning, students of Olympia High! What a beautiful first day of school! I am your principal blah blah blah..."
Randall immediately tuned out the intercom and slid into his class. Oh, look, that's my sister, he thought, catching her eye and taking the empty seat behind her. The instructor was still writing something on the board and took no notice of Randall's tardiness.
xxxxx"Hey, what'd I miss?" he whispered to Riley, leaning forward and dropping his bag on the floor next to him.

Cole leaned on the counter and waited, his attention jumping from one thing to another each second. The office lady walked so slow, Cole could sprint circles around her. When Precious finally got her papers, Cole saluted loosely at the office lady, who studiously ignored him, and walked alongside Precious out the door. "See? Weren't so hard, was it? Gettin' all nervous for nothin'," he said cheekily.

As they walked out and turned the corner, Cole almost bumped into a girl, an upperclassmen, but his quick reflexes allowed him to jerk to the side. Cole blinked, surprised. The girl was, to say the least, absolutely beautiful. She was the definition of beautiful. Like those Barbie dolls, except she was all of those combined.

"Well hello there. How are you today, cutie?" she said, with a voice like pure gold.

Cole would have been speechless, his mind totally blanked out. But then again, he never really thought most of his words through. "Jus' fine, gorgeous. First day, what's not to love," He tossed his head at the clock on the wall. "Also somethin' to love: first period o' the day. Hate t'miss it, y'know, so I'll - hopefully - be seein' you later." Cole flashed the beautiful girl a grin and steered Precious down the hall.

When they were safely out of range, Cole whistled and looked over his shoulder. He took a deep breath and grinned at Precious. "So. What's yer first class? If ya don't mind, I'll walk ya there. I can make it back to my class in time, if I'm as fast as ya say."

LOTUS made a small inarticulate exclamation as Cole deftly manoeuvred her down the corridor, and she frowned, her lips pouting slightly. In a belated reply, she said defensively, "I wasn't nervous. I was..." and her wide eyes searched about, as if seeking the answer from her surrounding, before brightening suddenly, "I was just being me!" She declared in a triumphant voice, a smug little smile on her lips. It was true, in fairness.

At Cole's question, Precious fumbled with the piece of paper she had inadvertently crumpled in her balled-up hand, flattening it out gently. The creases and folds looked like an intricate web of veins and capillaries, or like the roots of a plant, wending about in their need of water, or a bizarre map with some strange code, that no one could solve. With that last, adventurous thought, her eyes landed on her first lesson, and dismay landed in her heart. Of all the things she found beauty in, Math was not an easy one. When she could do it, it was fun, and seeing how everything was linked was interesting, but now they had moved on to things that Precious couldn't do, and therefore not interesting, or fun. And that made the days longer; the math harder, and the vice-like grip of dread on her insides tightened.

Again, her features pulled into a tragic expression of heartbreak. "Math, with Mrs Collins." The short, strangely hairy teacher with her questionable odour was renowned for her inability to communicate anything with any spirit or vitality, and her fiery temper. "Would you walk me there?" Precious asked pathetically. "I bet you could get to the other side of the school in a second if you tried," she remarked with a giggle. "I can't imagine being able to run so fast," she said, her eyes glittering at the prospect. "How do you do it, Cole?" She asked plaintively, unadulterated wonderment in her voice.

Riley's ears perked as her attention was brought to the seat beside her. The voice was definitely familiar, a voice that she had beside her since the day that the two of them were born. Her mechanical pencil was lowered to the page as her head tilted to the side, her off-colored hair shifting with her movements before cascading over her shoulder like a tropical wave. With a huff, she blew her bangs out of her emerald eyes before a smile etched itself across her lips. "Bro! I've been lookin' all over for you!" She told him through heated breaths, her eyes shifting towards the teacher, making sure he still had his back turned towards the classroom before she continued. She tapped her pencil's tip and the butt of the eraser on her notebook before she let the pencil rest, her hand instead fishing her phone out of her back pocket to check the time, her charms jingling ever-so slightly.

"Ah, you haven't missed much. 'cept there was this fight earlier. Well not so much a fight as it was some bullies pickin' on a guy and him merkin' on their a**." Riley finished as a chuckle escaped through her parted lips. Propping up her free elbow on the desk, she leaned her head against her hand, scratching her scalp with her nails. They weren't manicured or anything, but she did grow them out; she could never know when she would be clawing some guys' eyes out to save her life. Staring at her twin, her eyes scanned over various things that stuck out to her; the way he styled his hair today, the way his eyes sparkled under the overhead light, how he dressed himself today. It was those little things that she really took for granted but now was starting to get more interested in, especially since they found that they weren't as inseperatable as they originally thought as children. "Where were you this morning? I was gonna wake you up, but when I knocked on our door, you never answered. Everythin' alright Randy?"

[OOC: Sorry everyone! I just finished all my midterms so now everything's all good and I'll be online more. And Irako, I did see your comment and I think that students in the same grade go to the same classes together so everyone can be together.]

((I meant every character has the same schedule, regardless of their grade. It would encourage character interaction a lot more. Maybe there's a special program for god/goddess reincarnations or something, except the teachers don't realize it. Only a few high up do and they did it to sort of encourage/force the epiphany.))

[[ First off, I want to offer big apology hugs for my not-being-here-ness. We got a puppy about a week ago, and its the first pet we've ever had, so everything else in life has sort of...bottomed out, priority wise. The only productive thing I've done all week is manage to get to my audition, and then back for the concert, but that was just one day. Srsly. I haven't washed my hair since, I think neutral . Nevertheless, we're starting to metaphorically drown a little bit less now, so my gaiaing should up :3

Irako of the Desert

That's such an awesome idea :'D I think that'd be a good plan, but in order for it to work with all the RPing that just happened, maybe the receptionist lady could order them all to report to Room x over the tannoy system, or somesuch, since everyone's already got their timetables. Because the Grade 9s will only just have moved up, so its a new unexpected thing? I dunno.

Still, I'm all for it, but if we don't go for it, then...

Would you mind joining Presh in Maths? From what I've tried to figure out, I think History would be an elective (I think) and therefore, she would've dropped it as soon as possible, considering what she said earlier. Tell me if I'm wrong about the thingy though. Mucho gracias! ]]

Cole's face brightened and fell at the same time, if that was possible. It brightened because he realized that he and Precious had the same first period together, fell because that first period was taught by the rumored Mrs. Collins. Cole was definitely not eager to get to her class. Cole doubted she would let him fall asleep for the first half hour of her class or so. He desperately hoped all the rumors he'd heard about her were false. Or if he was suddenly transferred out of the class.

Cole put on a smile. "Well, what a coincidence. I've got 'er too. Though, not quite sure that's a good thing," Just as he said that, the bell to go to class rang, echoing up and down the halls. "But 'least it'll save me another trip 'cross school, right?"

As they walked, Precious was persistent on the topic of his quick feet. Cole beamed at her praise. He was pretty sure his head was inflating with every word she said, it was a wonder he wasn't floating away already. "Awww, c'mon, enough of that sweet talk already," he said, somewhat modestly. "Whatever ya got, ya got, ain't it? Some things I got, some things you got, ain't no reason to act like it's a gift given by the gods, or anything."

Soon enough, they arrived at Mrs. Collins' door. A peculiar odor emanated from the classroom, causing Cole's nose to wrinkle. He was definitely not eager to go inside that place. He attempted a humorous chuckle and glanced at Precious. "Well, you know what they say. Ladies first!"

LOTUS managed to catch sight of Cole's face as he experienced the rush and change of emotions that she herself had experienced not minutes past. But his smile was so...vivacious and bright, that she couldn't not say anything. "Coley, did you know your eyes go gold when you smile?" A little giggle escaped her lips when she said it, clutching her folders closer to herself. "And no, its not a good thing. She's so mean," Precious muttered, a pitiful furrow in her brow. Precious, with her tendency to zone out to watch the clouds, did not exactly get along with the rather dictatorial style of teaching that Mrs. Collins preferred.

As they approached the classroom, Precious nudged him in the ribs with a smile. "Maybe, but you got more than your fair share." She stuck out her tongue in a playful manner before turning into the classroom. Lotus offered him a wide smile as he held the door open for her, but it dimmed considerably as her eyes met the teacher's. Not being endowed with much height or long legs, Precious found that she was the same height as the teacher, or perhaps even smaller. Lotus offered a ghost of her customary smile, her nerves once again firing through her body, giving her a bit of a stammer in her fear. "H-hello Mrs. Collins," she said a muted voice, ducking her head a bit. They were late by all of a minute, so they weren't in any great danger, but Precious walked to an empty table like a dog with its tail between its legs. She sat down and shuffled herself a bit, her legs tucking awkwardly under her chair. Her chunky shoes tapped at the heel gently, and Precious tried to catch Cole's eye, clearing her folders from the spare side of the desk.

xxxxx"Eh. I'm fine, just didn't wake up easy this morning." He glanced up at the instructor, who had finished writing and was straightening some papers. "So, a fight? It's only the first day of school!" A laugh escaped from his throat, a little louder than he had expected, and the teacher looked up at Randall and his sister.
xxxxx"Good morning students. It occurs to me that we may already have a few seating problems. Care to take another seat, young man?" Beady eyes peered above white rimmed glasses, staring at Randall's slightly unkempt hair with disapproval.
xxxxx"Uh, sure," he replied, grabbing his bag and standing. As he turned to find a new seat, the teacher looked back down at his papers, then spoke to the class.
xxxxx"Is there a Ri-ley McDow-ell in this class? Or Ran-dall Mcdow-ell?" The beady eyes met Randall's once more as he and his sister both twisted their heads in that synchronized twin way they always had. Randall cleared his throat, and immediately worried that he and his sister were in trouble.
