Emm-Kaye entervixen Emm-Kaye entervixen July's spinning challenge theme is "The Wind in the Willows". Oh, that's pretty! It's going to spin up beautifully! Thanks! So far it's turning out well. Hmmmm....seems to be turning out a bit more green than the raw fiber looked to be... It's very pretty! Do you have a plan for the yarn, once it's spun? Yeah, the brown and blue in it is turning out to be more downplayed than the green in it. I'm hoping to have enough for a shawlette once I'm done, I'm spinning worsted so I won't get as much mileage than if I spun it woolen, but I have four oz of the stuff so hopefully I should get enough.

That'll be beautiful! I'd almost call it a teal rather than a green or blue...if you wind up short, you could always use a pale color (cream, blue, even a pale tan/brown) around the edges, and have this for the middle (or even make it striped).

I really like the idea of using this yarn for the body and a cream or tan for the edging...thanks! I think I'm gonna do that and make a bigger shawl... 4laugh

Emm-Kaye entervixen Updated with an actual FO. Hurray! Love the colors! Thanks! I'm working on a wingspan shawl now, to get an idea of my yard usage because I want to use my rainbow handspun for it eventually, and I also have another ball of knitpicks chroma in prism that would look cool in this pattern too. emotion_bigheart

OK, finished a test skein. It came out kinda...not soft. Not as soft as I expected at least. Not sure if I overtwisted the singles or overplied the yarn, but that's okay. That's what sampling is for. smile Pic! Sorry for the crap quality though: July 2012 spinning challenge mini-skein
