"Right, so whichever division needs an assist, I'm up for it," She said out loud, to nobody in particular. Looking at Gale and Madison, she couldn't help making a face, "You know what I would hate? Attacking turkeys. I mean, technically Thanksgiving happens twice a year, one for Canada, and one... For everybody else. Twice the turkeys."
That sounded worse than cupids or bunnies.

"I think there was a cranberry sauce monster in that damn Haunted House," Madison said, making a face. "There were turkeys, for sure, but they were dead when we got there. Maybe the freaks killed them." Her expression shifted to an almost fond smile. That had been a good fight, a really good fight. Phoenix (most of it, anyway) against the freaks, their first real battle, and they'd wiped the floor with them. At least in Madison's mind.

Looking back up from the paper after hearing the offers. He liked you Bix but- "Ariane, would you mind assisting the moon division then?" He smiled a bit. "Aside from helping you'd be able to caution us if we find anything suspicious or worth note." He was still waiting on Aria's answers however, and at the end of the day, while she wasn't his division leader, she was still much higher than him, and her word would be law.

"A cranberry sauce monster?" She made a 'dnw' face at Madison, "Really? Well, saved you the trouble of killing those turkeys yourself~"
When Marcus addressed her, she turned around to face him, humming a bit, like she was deep in thought, "Hmmmmm, I don't know..." A short pause later, she grinned, "Eh! Sure, why not? I have a bit of experience with making and repairing things." Thanks to Aria's last mission
Turning back to Gale and Madison, she patted the former on his head, and the latter on her back, "Remember to keep everyone updated!" She had a feeling that she shouldn't be worrying though and flashed them both a grin before trying to get the Mist leader's attention, "Aria, do you have your constant?" She didn't see a problem with the arrangement, but best to see if the woman had anything to say about it.

Aria nodded toward Marcus as the Moon trainee raised his hand, giving him permission to speak. She was about to answer his question when he went on. And on. And on. Her approval of him began to slide downward until he finally stopped. "In the future," she began, "If you have questions, it would be wise to break them up and give the person you are asking questions a chance to respond. There are some on this island who would disregard your questions. In other words, too long, didn't read." Was that the right lingo? It was something like that, even if they weren't reading.
"I trust that you, that all of you will be intelligent enough to figure out what needs to be done upon seeing the site first-hand for yourself. As far as Moon is concerned, review your notes if you are so concerned with property damage. Myself? I would have noticed that Life received intel on the hunters who were there, and would have prepared to bring medical aid. But then again, I am a Mist." She shrugged, adding, "We are merely going to assess the situation. A team of more experienced Moon hunters will go in to rebuild the site itself. Consider this," she added quickly, raising a hand to forestall any protests. "This is not an insult to your skill level. Consider the experience of the trainees; they have recently arrived, and I highly doubt any of them have applied themselves to any sort of training. Would you prefer a professional or a novice to rebuild something like that?"
She left the question hanging, not batting an eyelash as Jerry took off. Didn't matter. Now there was an even number, two experienced hunters per squad. But then again... Aria took her seat and propped her elbows on the table, watching with interest as the Death and Sun squads debated about who would lead and who would assist.
As Ariane spoke up, Aria nodded. "Then it is settled. Marcus will lead Moon with Ariane assisting. Gale will lead Death with Madison assisting. Robert will lead Life with Before assisting. Candace will lead Mist with Cassadnra assisting. Jordan will lead Sun with Bix assisting."
Aria took a deep breath. "I will be going on mission to observe. The goal of this mission is to give each of you some experience leading as well as to give the newest trainees on-the-field experience." As well as to give them a reality check. "Debriefing will be held tomorrow, followed by the mission itself. Double-check your packs -- it's going to be cold, and you will feel forever ashamed if you do not take advantage of the time you have to prepare now."
"Now. Does anyone else have any questions?"

He wince a bit. Yeah, to many questions. "Sorry Miss Aria, but thank you. I'll keep that in mind for the future." It was nice to hear that they wouldn't have to actually- yeah no. He was pretty sure his level of skill was still down around the 's**t sucks' level. Looking at Ariane, he moved over to her, offering the file. "We can call the other moon trainees up and given them a head on the mission, as well as the intel. For the most part, it seems simple enough." A smile. "I look forward to working with you by the way. This will probably be a little better than ah... jungle duty."

Jordan automatically started to get up as Jerry fled, but he caught himself a moment later; personal concern for a friend had to take second place to the mission, especially if he was in a leadership position. He needed to be here right now. He sank back down, muttering, "Dammit, Jerry." Focus. "It'll be good to work with you," he said to Bix, then quieted as Aria spoke. When she called for questions, he lifted a hand. "Do you have an estimate of how many of the newer trainees we can expect to be working with?" he asked. "And will we have enough time between the briefing and the mission itself to make sure they've got climate-appropriate gear? Or a contact list beforehand to let them know what they need to bring?"

They were putting Robert in charge again. He tried not to laugh, but after the monumental failure of his first experience, it was hard to believe anyone would put him in charge of anything. He knew it wasn't really their choice, it was simply a matter of the math. One advanced trainee, one choice. One very bad choice, that someone was probably regretting very much. He turned to look at Before, gave him a sour face, and shifted the folder over for him to read. "Looks like you get to play Lifer for another day, huh. Lucky you." Before had a long way to go before Robert was going to forgive him for jumping ship - and leaving him the only advanced trainee on the block. It was his fault they were forced to put Robert in charge, after all. It did not look like he was going to let Before forget it.

An achievement? Oh, Cass..she could kiss you right now~. Except she wouldn't. Yeah, no. Cass would have to settle for a grin. "That is a very good idea. We can even come up with a reward for earning the achievement." It may have been a joke but it was a good idea.
Candace forced herself not to watch Jerry leave. Not again. Not because of her again. Just..just focus on the task at hand...you can approach him later, right? R-right? Just focus on the debriefing. "So this is just the brand new trainees, then?" That was pretty much all of the Mist division trainees. Awesome.
"So we have no idea where the hunters from this Station are? Has the area been cleared of hostile creatures or should we be prepared to fight outright?" Candace frowned, picking up the map the Mist had been given. She'd said the Suns would be fending off anything that tried to attack but Candace was thinking of inside. The Mists would be assessing the situation and finding out what happened. It was safe to assume most of their time would be spent inside the station or at least relatively close to it. "I'm assuming they have everything we have in terms of surveillance? Cameras that record footage?" Candace hummed, looking over the map for a surveillance room of some kind.
There was a sudden pause from the young woman as she glanced toward where Jerry had been sitting. Aria was accompanying them for observation..meaning she probably wouldn't be assisting them too much. "Are any other leads going to be joining us?" Please say no please say no...

"If you intend to debrief your trainees," Aria began, "Then you'd best move quickly and catch them before they go to bed. We'll be moving out bright and early on the morrow. I highly advise that you ensure they're wide awake and alert, and not sleep-deprived."
Aria shifted her attention to Jordan, giving him a nod in acknowledgment before answering. "There's an estimation of about fifteen to twenty new blood on Deus Ex," she answered, "However not all of them have gone through the initiation ceremony. Then there are other trainees who have yet to go on a mission. In short," she shrugged, "I honestly don't know. Some divisions may have more members than others."
Truthfully, Aria didn't bother looking in to see how many people were assigned to what division. She assumed that it would be the same like last time. Which meant that Aria had no clue that the Mist had nearly the highest enroll rate of new hunters, and that most of them were male. She was going to be in for a surprise.
"If you can get them together, you might be able to debrief them. Or you might not," Aria added with a shrug. "The point of tomorrow's debriefing is to not give them enough time to prepare. It's to knock it into their heads early that emergencies can happen at any time in any place, and they will need to be prepared for them at a moment's notice."
Aria's eyes darkened as she slowly looked at the trainees, doubt beginning to churn in her stomach. She had to ask it. There wasn't getting around it. "You... All of you know to keep a pack of basic essentials ready to go and ready to be grabbed at a moment's notice somewhere in your dorm, right? Basic things such as food, Swedish firesteel, socks and the like...?"
She had a feeling that she knew the answer to that question already considering how much Caelius and H cared for their collective well-being.
However, Candace's questions were a welcomed distraction. "One of them sent the last transmission. They received heavy damage to their generator, and thus have not been able to continue contact. There is no telling of their current status as such, and thus it is best to go in armed to the teeth just in case." She shrugged, adding, "Considering the location, I felt that it is a good chance for the trainees to get some field experience, even if it's nothing more than moving items from that outpost back here until the outpost is repaired."
Aria leaned back into the chair, stretching before answering. "Currently there is no surveillance. While this may be the 21st century, the Life labs have yet to figure out how to support video streaming over long distances. Or find a way the tolerable quality," Or find an actual use of it instead of spying in the shower rooms. At least they're in the males' too and not just the women's. I better go visit those next to make sure they're not there anymore.
"As far as other leads go..." Aria shrugged. "Caelius is out somewhere else, the lucky b*****d. And as far as H goes, I'd rather not know. Sun and Moon leads are out, so that leaves me with babysitting duty."

"I've started keeping that sort of stuff in a to-go-grab bag on the handle of my door..." Cass answered. The problem with that was when she wasn't..uhh... in her room when she got the call to go out. So it wasn't very often she actually did have it close enough between her and fleeing off to answer a call to actually take it with her.
The tone in Aria's voice told her she probably should have just taken the time to make a second one to chill in Marcus's room too. She'd practically lived in there since the nearly-crushed-to-death period of being unable to sleep, even when he was near. One of those adapting things that just....took a hold and didn't let go. Still, if they were going to be preparing their newbies....
Cass looked to Candace to see what it was the older trainee thought. "What do you think we should do, boss?" she inquired, still studying that map.

"Thanks Aria," She grinned before turning to Marcus, taking the files and giving them a read before looking at the map, memorizing as much as she could, "I'll put it up on twitter, but it's up to them to check. It's been cluttered with idle chatter that should be kept to private messages recently..."
It bothered her quite a bit.
"I'm not sure who the new Moon trainees are, so I doubt they know me..." She paused, shrugging before giving Marcus a slap on his back and a grin, "Same goes for me! Heh, anything's better than that experience." A photograph of the map was taken using her phone - just in case - before she stood up, "If there's nothing else, I'm going to go back and pack... So I'll see you tomorrow? Don't be late."

"We could always take a page from the book of our leaders and send a vague text message~." It was not a spiteful remark, more amused. Candace would love to send the Mists a mass text that read to dress warmly! It'd be interesting to see who heeded the warning. She'd leave the actual debriefing up to Aria; they were merely acting as leaders on this mission, they were not actually the ones who could give the full debriefing. She already knew what she'd tell them, too. As for packing essentials? Candace frowned. "Well I've got the basics, but I don't have a lighter of any kind, no." It didn't even cross Candace's mind to keep things like that. She had clothes she didn't mind getting dirty, an extra coat, and toiletries but she didn't keep food simply because..what if it sat so long it went bad? Maybe she was underestimating herself a little. "Understood, ma'am." Be prepared for anything, then. But she was disappointed to hear the station had no surveillance. s**t. That meant no video feeds they could watch to try and find out what happened. Damnit.Candace was fairly relieved. Though it was strange Caelius was still missing, she didn't want to see H coming along on this mission. She liked the man and all but..right now she needed to distance herself from him. Though did she really need to..? Eh... "Awww, babysitting? I like to think you don't need to babysit us." All of them, at least. Didn't Aria have faith in her Mists? Oh, speaking of. Candace hummed cheerfully as she reached for her phone, scrolling through to find the five newer mists that hadn't been on missions. There was one she was hesitant on but only because she had been around since Christmas...there shouldn't be any reason she couldn't go on this, right? Molly had no mission experience.. Zyphiris Dress warmly tomorrow. <3 - Candace Soliloquy in Aria Dress warmly tomorrow. <3 - Candace DarkHeartedSorrows Dress warmly tomorrow. <3 - Candace Lucyal Dress warmly tomorrow. <3 - Candace Pepzilla Dress warmly tomorrow. <3 - Candace Ice Queen Dress warmly tomorrow. <3 - Candace Wow! Thank god for being able to send texts to multiple recipients at once. She glanced Ariane's way when she complained about idle chatter on twitter, rolling her eyes a little. Don't say anything, don't say anything. Thankfully Cass had asked a question to distract her! "We'll get whatever information the other divisions have been given, then once we get there it may be best to check the damaged areas first.." There could be evidence of what had happened, after all. "..Is there a recording of the last transmission we can listen to, ma'am?" Candace asked Aria as she glanced up from the map she had been looking down at. "And then if it's possible we can go inside and see what we find from there...it might be easier to figure things out as we go along since we don't know what happened." Candace hoped she was doing an okay job so far. Would Aria approve of how she and Cass were handling this so far? ((ouo I hope I quoted the right people~!))

Cass seemed to notice that there were people taking pictures of their folders instead of her broken a**-backwards memorization technique, pausing to flip through the file and snap a few pictures herself, if only to make sure she had them for reference, before she slid the file back over to Candace in case she needed to take any as well.
With that done, it seemed like Candace had the texts sent out to the Lambs already, which left her to..do..... hmmmm. She looked at her file, then at the one Marcus had. There were differences between them, so....
"Aria, are we allowed to look at the files you gave the other divisions?" she inquired quietly, wondering if she'd just asked something stupid. Either way Aria answered, Cass knew one thing she needed to do before she went to bed;
Hit up Lance to see if he had any extra information.

Cass' words were a relief. At least one of her Mists was prepared. Aria couldn't help but to glance at Candace and Before, hoping that they too were prepared. She would be forever embarrassed if her trainees weren't prepared, but then again... she wasn't exactly around to train them in the first place. Her weapon growled quietly at her. She could feel guilty later; now she had to concentrate on the task at hand. There would be time later to work with them later.
And then Candace revealed her lack of a lighter. Aria resisted the urge to wince, stating instead, "If any of you are missing the essentials from your kit, go see the quartermaster and get what you need. Nothing sucks more than having to rough it because you didn't bring your kit," she added bitterly, shrugging it off before giving Candace a grimace. "You? I'm still waiting for you Mists to start acting out of hand. I'm surprised none of you have -- nevermind," she broke off with a laugh, raising a hand to fan the topic away. "I haven't had time to teach you guys anything that'd land you in hot water yet, thankfully. So, you are correct; I don't need to babysit you now, but later after you get caught red-handed where you don't belong..." She trailed off, shrugging.
But the topic changed again back to the mission, and Aria straightened up a bit. "As this mission will be an exercise for both yourselves and the trainees, we are going to assume that it was an emergency transmission and have you arrive cold with just the knowledge you have before you." She gestured towards the folders. "Most of the time you won't even have that. You only received this mission to better prepare for the inevitable flood of questions the trainees will launch at you."
"And as far as other division folders are," Aria shrugged as she rose. "That is up to the squad leader's discretion. And speaking of, leaders may take the folders with them and do what they please with them."
"I believe that will be all," Aria said as she moved towards the door. "If you have any questions, text me. You are all dismissed." With that, the Mist Division Leader moved out the door and left.
Elsewhere on Deus Ex, Lance suppressed a cold shiver.
