Waking up to a series of dim lights Darren rubbed his head, almost immediately wishing he hadn't he winced at the pain. Standing over him was a lady imbued with purple garments and fascinating white hair, she looked like a ninja he'd program into LifeLight. Turning his head left and right he began to wonder where he was, but shrugged it off, at least he was alive right? "T-Thanks" he muttered under his breath before rising from the ground, was his body dragged the entire way? It seemed so with all the dust and rips in his jeans and top. Sighing he bent over and thanked the woman before trying to leave, only remembering his wrench was missing. Giving a sheepish smile he asked "do you happen to know where my trusty wrench is? I kinda can't leave home without it!" He pulled his hat down and bit his lip, already hearing the groans of the zombies from a distance.

Der Mond ist aufgegangen. Die goldenen Sternlein prangen. Der Himmel hell und klar. Der Wald ist dunkel und still. Und aus den Wiesen steigt. Der weiße Nebel wunderbar.

Adelaide was about to lower her weapon, but then quickly shot the zombies down. She then looked at Mara and lowered her gun. Hallo. Did one of the zombies bite you? She asked, walking closer. You speak English I see. Sorry, I normally speak German. I'm Monica. She said, sticking her hand out for Mara to shake. Adelaide knew the woman would find out she lied about her name, but for now, she was Monica, not Adelaide.

The moon has risen. The golden stars shine. The sky bright and clear. The forest is dark and silent. And is rising from the meadows. The white mist wonderful.

Emmerah

PostPosted: Sat Feb 25, 2012 4:25 pm

Appearance here...

Emmerah...

The greyhound sighed, weaving her way through worn out gravestones. Meari... Meari... Come out, come out wherever you are... She called mentally, reaching out to her colleague. No response. The greyhound seemed to shrug, Meari would turn up when she wanted to.

A growl behind her warned of unwanted company. Emmerah sighed and turned, she hated the taste of zombie flesh. She tensed her muscles to attack the creature, and was mildy surprised to find that it had turned away. A green flare caught her eye, and she smiled. That meant there were living humanoids about, and with that shot, they would probably all gather to one place. It was the perfect place for her to feed. With one last look at the zombie she decided she could outrun it and began to head in the direction of the green flare.

Fumi walked past dozens of stores, but the windows were already broken, the contents inside already ravaged. The whole city'd been like that ever since Fumi arrived. The zombies has probably spread here earlier than all the other places she's been too. Looked like she'd have to move on if she were to find some new supplies.

All of a sudden, Fumi heard dull, uneven thuds. It sounded horrifyingly similar to a zombie's gait. Immediately, Fumi turned invisible. As a precaution, she lifted herself into the air, floating higher until she was about a human's height above the ground. She located the source of the sound - right behind her. As if on cue, two figures turned the corner and started to stride with purpose down the street. Fumi almost breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that one of the figures was a woman, seemingly a businesswoman, but in tattered clothes. She had her head held high, though, as if it wasn't rags she was wearing but the most expensive of suits.

The thing next to her... Fumi had never seen it before. Large, it was, and oddly colored. It reminded her of those monsters from the storybooks she used to read. It was broad, and looked like a zombie - Fumi would have mistaken it for one, had it not been eating the woman next to it. In fact, it seemed as if the two were comrades, in a way? More like a pet-owner relationship?

Curious, Fumi followed the pair. She floated behind them, at a yard's distance. She dared not follow them on ground. What if they heard her, and attacked her? She knew full well that the creature could do much more damage to her than she would do it.

As they passed by a building, a voice spoke up, somewhat scratchy and muffled, making Fumi jump. She realized that it came from a microphone beside the building's door. Fumi couldn't discern the words, but the woman and the creature turned sharply and went inside. Fumi hurried to catch up to them, going straight through the doors. They went inside the elevator. Fumi followed, slipping in just as the doors closed, then, still invisible, backed into the corner. It was a risky action, but there was no other option.

When the doors opened, a young man stood there, about her age. It seemed he was alone. Aside from his grim expression, it looked like he was pretty well-groomed. Fumi looked down at herself, and frowned at her shredded, grimy clothes.

"Welcome to the safe house. My name is Bartholomew. You are welcome to stay here as long as you are clean, and you do not cause any trouble." he said.

The businesswoman Fumi had followed introduced herself as Sydelle, and introduced the creature beside her as 'Grr.' Grr grumbled, but Fumi could've sworn it sounded like purring. A very, very big cat's purring. Fumi edged around the two and stuck close to the wall. Although Bartholomew seemed trustworthy, she wasn't quite so ready to reveal herself yet. She'd look around first. Find all the exits, in case she needed a quick escape. Then, she would consider revealing herself. She hoped the three wouldn't be too surprised. The last thing she'd want is to have Grr set after her.

A loud explosion woke Xavier from his slumber. He jumped at the sound, and scrambled to pull back the boards that were covering the window.

Down on the street below, he saw nothing. But, further investigation revealed that he must've been sleeping for quite some time. The city was no longer restless. There was presence of new life, and he wasn't sure if it was good or not. He definitely wasn't taking any chances.

Xavier slid the board back over the window, and returned to his makeshift bed. He was in an abandoned apartment complex. No, he didn't know who had lived there. But for now, it was the only safe place for him. The apartment was full of supplies, so he figured he could survive here for at least a week.

But what was that explosion? Xavier thought to himself.

Trying to forget about everything that had happened thus far, and the explosion, Xavier closed his eyes, and laid his head against the dark wall. He wouldn't be able to return to sleep, but he needed to rest; to wait.

For any sign of survivors to find him...

Jasmine Langdon

Jasmine can be seen searching through the city for a fire, light with her steps so she doesn't draw any attention to herself to the things. Thats the LAST thing she wants. She can't slip up before she knows what they are and id any one is alive.
About a block or two from where she was, she spots a small fire burning in a car motor.
Perfect. She thinks as she walks up to it.
She's done this a million times. She closes her eyes, clearing her mind.
You can do it, Jas. All you need to do is get it started so if there is any intelligent life in this city, they'll see it. She breathes in heavily and opens her eyes, blowing it out. Her violet eyes begin to stare at the small flame. It does nothing at first, but within a minute, the flame flickers and it becomes hers to control. Grinning, since she's getting somewhere, as she subconsciously raises her hand. The flame begins to rise.
Abruptly, she turns her hand palm side up and the flame suddenly erupts through the motor. She closes her eyes again, this is going to drain her. She knows it. But she must do this. She slowly raises her arm, the flames rising up to as tall as the highest building.
Biting her lip, as this is really draining her... Only a few more minutes... Her arm trembles as she's draining her energy more. Closing her eyes, trying to control it...
Untill she collapses. As she does so, a huge fireball shoots into the sky, dissipating into the sky. Her breath comes out ragid as she lays on the asphalt. Hoping, Praying that it worked.

The sneer that Verra was sporting could have melted a newborn's face off. Literally, in his case, seeing as the few drops of saliva that escaped his twisted lips were burning minuscule holes in the concrete of the roof. Normally he wasn't so sloppy; currently, he was well beyond irritated.

It wasn't enough, of course, that his first lead in ******** knows how long would come in the form of an attention-whoring explosion. It wasn't enough that the first to approach him was some kind of useless pretty-boy. Humans were plenty unpleasant when they were in control of their minds, and yet it wasn't enough that he was now being forced to deal with small armies of brainless beasts on a ******** hourly basis.

No. Verra's life did not work in enoughs, it worked in over-the-tops and way-too-muchs. And so, it clearly wasn't enough to have one b***h trying to order him around; the universe had decided that he needed two.

"We are clearly all three too big of bitchesss to get anything done at a timely consssensssusss," he growled out, teeth were mangling the English language in his anger. "And there'sss no way I'm gonna waste my time shhhooting shhhit." He blanched a bit as the streets suddenly lit up in neon arrows and writing, but it didn't take long for "fight or flight" to become "******** flight" in his mind.

"I guesss if I leave you two it'll come back to haunt me later," he muttered. Then he stood, grabbing the boy's arm in a flurry of spidery limbs, motioning to the girl -- who seemed a tad bit more capable -- and took off over the rooftops in the direction of the arrows.

It all seemed a bit suspicious, Verra noted as they ran and leapt, but in his experience humans weren't known for particularly elaborate traps, and zombies even less so.

Well now, wasn't he just a lovely one? Rolling her eyes, Tora watched the man as he grabbed the limp figure, running off in some random direction. Should she follow? She had things that had to be done and frankly it didn't matter to her who all was around. The gray boy was fine enough to melt cement, so obvi- Wait, what?

Frowning some, her eyes went to the holes as she dropped down from her perch, quickly following as the gun shots sounded once more. There were some zombies that were faster than others, ones that were more intelligent than the normal slobbering, brain craving mongrels that seemed to surround the city. For now, however, that wasn't the main thing she needed to deal with. What Tora needed to do was catch up with the slobbering gray boy, find out what the hell he was, and find out why in the hell he decided to run off instead of taking care of something that was only going to be a problem later. As she got closer to the other, Tora finally let the butt of the cancer stick fall to the ground, snapping her fingers as the embers turned into flames, only growing greater as they engulfed the zombies. There. Now that wasn't so hard, was it? She smirked, turning her attention back to the other.

Arrows. They were following arrows. Zombies wouldn't make this, but humans were. Humans were just as dangerous in her opinion.

"Do you even know where the hell you're going?" She ran beside him, not bothering to look at the other. Tora understood what he was doing, so it wasn't too damn difficult.

There was a crackling sound from Natalie's pack, and she quickly slipped it off. After backing into an alcove that was (for the moment at least) unoccupied, she dragged out the old school walkie talkie that she'd forgotten she had.

"...talie? You there? Are ... okay?"

Oliver. Holding the button on the side of the device, Natalie responded, "I'm here. I'm fine. Where are you?"

"In the city."

"Obviously," Natalie muttered, although she didn't say this into the speaker. "What's up with all this activity? Everything's been so dead lately. Pun not intended."

"Activity? Nat ... it's freaking quiet around here. What ... talking about?"

Two things were obvious. One, her reception was terrible, even though the walkie talkie could only receive messages if the St. James brothers were nearby. Two, she was clearly not in the same 'quiet' city as the boys. Something was off, which had to explain some of the crazy things she'd seen lately. Definitely not in Kansas anymore. Or, well, in Natalie's case, she was definitely not in Canada anymore.

"I, uhm, I'll contact you later," she said quickly before switching the device off. If she'd kept talking any longer, Oliver would have noticed she was freaking out, and if Oliver was worried, then Max would worry (even if he wouldn't ever admit it), and that was worthless for everyone.

It was about this time that a giant fireball flared into the sky nearby. It was too close to not do anything about it, so Natalie made a decision. When she rounded the corner, she found the smoking, charred remains of a car and a woman lying on the asphalt.

"Hey!" Natalie called out in a semi-hushed voice, hoping it was loud enough to get the woman's attention but not loud enough to draw zombies to them. Then she remembered the fireball. Zombies were coming no matter what. "Hey, you! Get up. C'mon, c'mon, get up. We've got to move!"

Who the ******** had taken the time to leave this s**t everywhere? Better yet, who even left all their arrows laying around like that? "Life's mysssteries," Verra commented to himself, letting loose a peal of high-pitched laughter and not giving a single thought to the zombies such noise was probably attracting. They were on the roof and he was a beast; who had time to waste worrying about acrobatically challenged humans?

"I'm gonna assssume that these arrows lead to sssomewhere." Verra threw a glance to the boy beside him. Was it mute, or something? "And there's little room for the sssituation to get worse, eh?" He would've nudged the female had they been standing still. "A better question is, why are you following a ******** like me who potentially doesn't have the ssslightest idea where it's going?"

He didn't pause for any sort of answer; in the near distance, he could see more arrows, pointing towards them, which either meant that they were being intensely ******** with or that they were getting somewhere.

That somewhere, several rooftops later, revealed itself to be a glass office building. He came just shy of hurtling off of the roof into the street or, worse yet, into the windows facing them. "Wonderful ******** location!" he called to no-one in particular, though he was fairly certain that there was probably someone watching them, even if their intentions were less than clear. "Now, was there a point to all these arrowsss, hmm?"

Miss Misaki was standing over him, watching him and keeping alert for any pesky zombies. watching him rise, she was weary for she hadn't used medical ninjutsu in a while. She reached up to touch his fourhead to make sure his fracture was healed- this made her hands glow green. This also may have been odd for she did not ask to assess his wounds, she just merely did so. again, nothing was said. She listened though and pulled out his trusty wrench and handed it to him. But before he could whisk off; she took his other hand and began to walk off in a direction, pulling him along, he had no clue where she was going. that is; unless he noticed the blatant signs on the walls. She had to hurry for day break would come soon and the signs would be missing. She thought if he was left- he may cause injury to himself again with that wrench and she wouldn't be able to find him fast enough to help.

Tora had just possibly found someone more insane than her. How fun!

Rolling her eyes, her long legs easily kept up with the other as he spoke. "Stop sounding like some damn snake. You sound ridiculous." Her golden eyes flicked over to him for just a moment before she stopped, nearly plummeting to her death. These damn rooftops were pissing her off. Turning on her heel, she ignored the other for a moment as she squinted, taking up another cig for a moment. The nicotine in her lungs calmed her a bit as she spoke. "I don't have anything better to do. I gotta find some supplies anyway and it seems like we're at least getting somewhere. Now, why are you letting me follow you, hmm?" Her eyes slid to him now, watching with amusement.

"But ah well. Better questions for later times, it seems. Who the hell left the trail and how do we get in?"

sssafety." The way he spoke the word made it sound as if he sincerely doubted whether they were heading into a lack of danger. "And, I sssuppose if you want the honest-to-s**t-truth..."

He turned, eyes glittering. "Better look elsssewhere!" He broke off into laughter again. "You can do whatever the ******** you want, I ain't gonna ssstop you. I won't ssstop you from following me, and I won't ssstop you from getting mowed down by a horde of your own kind." He grinned at her. His gums were black.

"Bessst to lay all the ******** cards on the table, sssays I. Now..." Somehow, miraculously, the pavement below them was clear of zombies; for the moment, anyway. Verra released the arm he'd taken captive and immediately dropped to his stomach, hanging over the edge and digging his fingernails into the brick. He scaled down the wall, head-first, eyes as wide as they could be and swiveling madly to detect movement.

When he reached the pavement, Verra dusted himself off in some silly pretense of orderliness, and skipped across the street. "I sss'pose we could just... walk in?" He pressed his nose to the front door, half expecting a zombie to launch itself at him or for a trap to be set off.

Darren became almost paralyzed when the woman held his hand. What was she, a mother? Although no words were said he could easily identify that she was perhaps leading him somewhere...somewhere safe? About to thank her for the wrench he had no time to do so, instead his gaze was focused on signs on the walls...were they leading them to a safehouse? Wouldn't the smarter population of the zombies notice this and break all forms of defense and shelter? Darren sighed a little bit and thought of where this woman would take him.
