A smile played across the male's lips as he approached Amaranthe's door. He had heard from one of the staff that she was in her room at the moment and he wanted to pay her a visit. Maybe they could even go out and have some fun. He liked that idea; Wren was a fun loving person after all. It was just in his nature. That was not to say that he couldn't be serious though, if the situation called for it then his mood could change drastically. However, it normally wasn't a good thing to get him to such a point. Wren could be quite frightening if he wanted to, and deadly as well.

When he did make it to her room, the cerulean-eyed male simply opened the door and stepped inside. He had actually planned on surprising her, but that plan was ruined as soon as he noticed the female was pacing through her room and appeared to be pissed off at whomever she was speaking to. He arched a brow and approached Amaranthe, plucking the bluetooth piece from her ear once he reached her and holding it up to his own ear.
"I'm sorry, but Amaranthe has prior obligations at the moment. Provided we have the time, you will be contacted later. In any case, don't call us, we'll call you. Bye now." He spoke in a surprisingly emotionless voice as these words left his mouth. Well until the end that is, he was quite cheerful when saying goodbye. Once he had finished speaking, Wren hung up the call and turned to Amaranthe with a smile. "You know, this seems to be an ever recurring problem with you Amaranthe." Wren said as he turned to face her. "So, what shall we do to take your mind off of these troublesome things which seem to eternally haunt you?"

мσσ∂: Curious, concerned and a bit irritated.
συтfιт: Have a look for yourself.
¢σмραиу: Amaranthe?

I'm the girl you've been thinking about
The one thing you can't live without
I'm the girl you've been waiting for
I'll have you down on your knees
I'll have you begging for more
You probably thought I wouldn't get this far
You thought I'd end up in the back of a car
You probably thought that I'd never escape
I'd be a rat in a cage, I'd be a slave to this place
You don't know how hard I fought to survive

xxxx⇛ℵεѵεʀ ɑℊɑɪℵ ωɪʟʟ ɪ ҏʟɑʏ ʏσυʀ ғσσʟ⇚ Amaranthe pushed open the door to her quarters and almost coughed as the dust settled again into it's normal pattern. With a frown, she looked around the darkened room, her demon eyes adjusting quickly to the shadows within. Nothing had changed, except that the staff had been let in at some point, to cover her things with long white sheets, to keep away the worst of the dust. The curtains were drawn, leaving the room pitch black and feeling cold. A shiver passed through her body as she set her things down by the door and moved to sit on the sheet that currently covered her bed.

Had she really been gone so long that the staff was brought in to shut her room down? She began to worry at her bottom lip, tears built up in her eyes and she stubbornly pushed them back, a frown building between her eyebrows as she made herself stop any such business. As she had thought in the foyer, it had been unavoidable, her leaving... There was no reason to allow herself to get emotional about how Ambrosia had seen fit to set up the room because of it. She took a deep cleansing breath and stood, moving to open the curtains at the windows. Looking out at the grounds of her home, her heart began to warm, ever so slightly, and make her feel better about being back. Pulling out her mp3 player, she switched the song and turned away from the window, determined to get her quarters back in order.

Waking up alone when I was left to die
You don't know about this life I've lived,
All these roads I've walked
All these tears I've bled
So how can this be?
You're praying to me
There's a look in your eyes,
I know just what that means
I can be, I can be your everything

But let me tell you something baby
You love me for everything you hate me for

Devilish. Wicked. Sinful. Any of these words could be used to describe crimson-eyed demon and they would be correct. In his own mind he was the epitome of these things and more. He was perfection given life and none could stand in the way of him obtaining his desires. Well, none save for a certain succubus princess. Her very existence had thrown his 'perfect' little world into chaos. Not initially, mind you. It wasn't until the moment she defied him that this happened. When she had run away from him Amaranthe hadn't simply disrupted his plans, she'd damaged his ego. Of course, he would never admit it. Why should he? All that anyone could fathom was that she had thrown a wrench in his rise to power, and that was all he felt they needed to know. It was the most he would allow them to. That knowledge could be gleamed from his and her actions, any more would have to come from him and to give out such information would be a sign of weakness.

The male lay in his bedroom, eyes surveying the image reflected on the ceiling. His fingers threaded through some creature's hair absently as he continued to stare at the two of them through the mirror. Boredom, that was what he was feeling right now. The beings here were, for the most part, such easy prey, and with Amaranthe gone what did he have to do? She had to return eventually because this was her home, but what about until then? It was pointless to search for her but waiting had become so terribly monotonous. A low growl parted his lips and the man tore himself from the bed. He had to find
something to do. Or someone The latter option didn't seem to be working very well though. Cadeyrn dressed quickly then exited the room, leaving behind whomever had shared his bed that morning. He would never let someone remain while he slept.

He allowed his feet to take him where they may for he had no particular destination in mind since there was no person whom he wished to see currently in the castle. As it so happened, the incubus found himself at the entrance to the Head-Mistresses's towers. He had scoured the structure in search of his runaway bride, yet she appeared to have been absent for some time now. As his eyes shifted upward to study the now familiar entryway an amused grin crept onto his face. It seemed that his darling Amaranthe was finally back. How did he know? The angle of the sunlight above. It was coming from the direction of her room. Silently, he crept up the stairs towards the woman's room. This had to be a surprise after all, where was the fun in it if she saw him coming?

Cadeyrn rested himself against the door frame then spoke.
"So, the prodigal finally returns... Have you decided to give up this little game yet?" He questioned, the grin upon his features turning wicked. His gaze traveled over her body as he waited for a response. She was still as desirable as ever.

When you're going down on me
In between the sheets
Or the sound you make
With every breath you take
It's not like anything
When you're loving me

xxxx⇛ℵεѵεʀ ɑℊɑɪℵ ωɪʟʟ ɪ ҏʟɑʏ ʏσυʀ ғσσʟ⇚ Amaranthe turned her two tone eyes to look over at the interruption that had just walked in her room. A soft sigh crossed her lips as she reached up, pulling her headphones out of her ears and letting them drop to rest against her collar. Every line in her body was rigid as she looked at Cadeyrn, she was growing ever so tired of his damned games. The drama he caused within her home. Not for one second had she been able to relax and not get news of some new conquest he'd made within the castle. Yet, here he was, the moment she was home, invading her space and questioning her... You know, at least she had the decency to rein in her succubus tendencies...

Not Cadeyrn though, no, he was a total asshat in her opinion, claiming he wanted this and that... And ******** anything and everything that crossed his path while he told her these things. She knew, that this wasn't about title anymore, no, they had long passed that point. She was sick of his bull, tired of the lies, and the drama. There was no excuse, no purpose. He could control his urges, same as she did every single day. Function as just the demon he was, without fulfilling those particular urges. Especially if he wanted anything from her, she wasn't going to wake up in the middle of the night to an empty bed, and not know who's bed he was going to be found in.

Her eyes darkened, nearly imperceptibly, as she looked at him, and with a flick of the wrist, cast Binding Shadows around him. It was one ability he didn't have, a gift of her bloodline alone. And now, she spoke, her voice full of contempt as she made her way slowly across the room.
"You know Cadeyrn, I'm growing so sick of you. All you do is strut around this castle like you're some pompous rooster in a house full of hens. Well, I've had enough. You want me, I'm here you arrogant a**, but you've got to do a hell of alot of cleaning up before you will come anywhere near me. I don't have time for your ego, your drama, your seed sewing, any of it."

Amaranthe was now standing in front of him, her eyes dark and furious as she looked up the considerable height difference between them. "And quite frankly, I don't care if I have to beat the living hell out of you to do it.... In fact, it would give me some pleasure to be able to finally just knock the crap out of you. It would be a definite improvement upon your character, and maybe, just maybe, it would knock that ego of yours down a notch or two." she stepped back then, dropping the spell around him, but her body remained tense, showing that she wasn't expecting him to just stand there and take it... Nope, that wouldn't have been like Cadeyrn at all..

I love you more than all that's on the planet
Movin' talkin' walkin' breathing
You know it's true
Oh baby it's so funny
You almost don't believe it

His crimson eyes narrowed as her shadows wrapped around him, but he didn't struggle against them. Such an action would have been useless. He probably should have expected that, even been used to it, but it always irritated him when she used that ability. Why? Well, for one, if anyone was going to be restraining someone it should be him and this was one ability he didn't have. One that was unique to Amaranthe and her line. Of course he would be envious of such a power, simply imagining all of the things he could do with such a power made him yearn for it that much more. He could never possess it though. Even if he did have Amaranthe, which he was confident he would eventually, that power would always be hers to use.

The demon rolled his eyes as she began. Yes, yes, she was always sick of him. She wanted her happy little ending with love and whatever else. He honestly couldn't see why she believed in such fairytales. Why not just embrace her succubus nature? It's what she was, just like how he was an incubus. They were creatures designed to be desired. Beautiful and irresistible, succubi and incubi, demons of lust. Here she was in a castle filled with food yet she suppressed her most natural urges. Why? That always seemed to be his question with her. Amranthe was so puzzling, so infuriating...yet he just couldn't ignore her. She was the only person who was always on his mind.

He was glaring at her now, as she complained about this and that. Why the hell should he have to change for her? What made her so special? If anything it should be her altering herself to fit his desires. A smirk crept onto his features as the female went on to say that she would enjoy kicking his a**. As if she actually could! They had had their little disputes before but he refused to believe that she had ever bested him. He rolled his shoulders back after Amaranthe dropped her spell then folded his arms across his chest.
"You know, if you would have just accepted your fate none of this would have happened. You caused the drama because you decided to run away. Or did you forget that part?" He questioned with a low growl.

He hooked a finger under her chin, crimson colored eyes boring into her two tone eyes.
"Give me one ******** reason why I should do any sort of 'cleaning up' for you. You're the one who has turned her back on her heritage. And for what? Some silly little thing humans made up? It doesn't exist Amaranthe! It never has. The sooner you realize that and get over this little 'rebellious' phase of yours, the better. Some of us would like to return home. Not everyone can sit around like a spoiled little princess. As for you 'beating the living hell out of me?'" Cadeyrn shook his head and scoffed, " Well, I would love to see you try."

xxxx⇛ℵεѵεʀ ɑℊɑɪℵ ωɪʟʟ ɪ ҏʟɑʏ ʏσυʀ ғσσʟ⇚ Amaranthe let a growl of her own cross her lips as she looked up at him, defiance shining in her eyes. How dare he accuse her of acting like some princess. Spoiled or otherwise. She had spent the last several years busting her a** in her home, trying to better people's lives.

Shadows wrapped Amaranthe as she dropped her glamour and let her full demon form shine through, she raised her hands, forcing Cadeyrn away from her as she growled again. He had hit the last string, pissed her off one too many times. She was done playing games.
"You want to accuse me of acting like some spoiled princess, do you forget that I, unlike you, am royal. That's why you've coveted me for years. I carry a bloodline you could only hope to ever be a part of. Don't think I don't understand you Cadeyrn Daemos."

her eyes darkened to almost black, just the barest light of red and blue showing as she approached him, trailing one finger down his chest as she went up on tiptoe, her lips just a breath away from his as she spoke again, her voice soft and lined with just the smallest amount of violence. "You know what I think, I think the real reason it upsets you so, that I ran away, is because it meant I could walk away from you..." her fingertip hooked in his belt and she tugged him against the front of her, one hand still on his chest.

"And you're supposed to be everything... The perfect picture of what a succubus is and isn't. You're beautiful, arrogant, desireable, and ever so untouchable... Except to me. You've always been after me. Even when we were children, you were chasing after me. But when I left home, when I decided I didn't want to deal with being some pawn to everyone around me. When I decided I wanted my own life... That killed you... Because someone walked away from you." she dropped back down to her shoes and looked up at him, her glamour shifting back into place until she was once more what everyone usually saw.

"I didn't leave home to run from you Cadeyrn, if that were true, I wouldn't have become such a high profile person. Anyone can find me, as long as they don't get lost coming to the castle itself. I ran away from home, because I didn't like the person my own family wanted me to become. I've never been that person, and you know it as well as anyone else does." she walked away then, moving to the bar that lined one wall and pouring herself a drink. She leaned against it as she sipped her drink and lifted the decanter with the other hand, offering it to Cadeyrn. She seemed to have calmed down for the time being. And anyone that had known her even for five minutes, would know, she wasn't going to start any fights right now.

"Come, have a drink with me, obviously it isn't poisoned... And while we drink, I'll explain and answer your questions." setting her own crystal snifter down, she hopped up to sit on the bar, her feet swinging slowly as she began to speak, refilling her glass. "I haven't turned my back on my heritage, I'm not looking for an idealistic life Cade, it's never been part of my plans." she looked over at him as she spoke, using the knickname that only she had ever been brave enough to use.

"I want to make a home, I want to make my own way in this world. I don't want to live off of my name. I know who I am, I know what I am. And I want to change the world. I'm a Bayne, the most feared line of succubi and incubi to ever walk the planes..." looking away, she stared into the glass in her hands as she turned it back and forth between her palms. "But here, none of that means anything. I'm just Amaranthe, I'm a demon by heritage, and they know that, but on this world, none of that s**t matters Cade... Here, I can make this a home, a sanctuary, for these people, and actually make a difference. I'm not denying anything. I just don't feed within my own walls. Go to the towns nearby, and I guarantee, male and female alike, will follow you like dogs, because they already know the touch of our kind from me."

she looked up then, her eyes cold as she sighed, drawing her lip in between her teeth. "I would say I'm sorry, but it would be a lie, and you know I don't like lying unless I must. But I will say this, you want me, you have to deal with this. I don't feed within my own walls, and neither will you if you want me for yourself. I won't go back to our plane, I won't go back to my family. You want me, you accept me without title, without any of the bureaucracy that goes with it..." she stopped then, finally, and just sat there, meeting his eyes without flinching as she waited. Surely he would blow up in her face for this latest revelation. She had just told him he wouldn't ever be part of her bloodline and get her at the same time. It was two completely separate things in her mind, and he wasn't about to change that.

'Aw hell.' The thought flew through his mind as soon as Amaranthe dropped her glamour. They'd fought before. Many, many times before, but maybe he'd gone just a little bit too far this time. He didn't let the surprise show on his face but it did flicker in his eyes for a brief second after her full demon form was revealed. Soon enough that little bit of fear was replaced with something else as she started to speak. That little voice some people had to warn them against something? Cadeyrn didn't have it, if he did he probably would have been more fearful and willing to back off when he had realized how angry Amaranthe was. Instead, his eyes narrowed at her words. How could he ever forget that he wasn't royalty? That was one thing he didn't have, couldn't obtain without her. Even then it wouldn't be his bloodline, it would be through his union with her. That was the closest he could ever get to royalty, a union with her. And, yes, it had to be her.

A growl of his own rumbled out when she forced him away and he fought her to remain closer. And then she was close to him again. Taunting. Teasing. Threatening. His body shook with anger as she spoke, hands balled into fists at his sides. She had hit the nail on the head and pounded it in there. No matter how much he didn't want to admit it, she was right. Every ******** word. Amaranthe was the only person who had resisted him, turned away from him. Left him. And it ate away at him, every day. Why did she do it? Why had she run from him? Because of love? Some idiotic emotion made up by humans? What did they need such a thing for?

If she wasn't running from him then why didn't she tell him? Probably because he would have stopped her...but that's besides the point! He forsed himself to calm down as she continued to speak, nails digging into the flesh of his palms. No, she wasn't that person. If she'd been like everyone else then he wouldn't have cared. He frowned as the thought passed through his mind. He cared? Of course he did. He wouldn't have been here if he didn't...no, that wasn't true. Even if he didn't care he would have come to retrieve her simply to save face. So where the hell did this 'caring' come from? He shook himself, banishing the thought from his mind for the time being. He didn't need to think about such things. There was no telling what focusing on such strange thoughts could do to him.

As his gaze returned to her once more, Cadeyrn saw her sipping some drink before offering the same to him. She wasn't in the mood for fighting, which meant it would take a great deal from him to get a rise out of her and Cadeyrn did not feel like dealing with her if she was pushed
that far. He walked over to her and accepted the decanter before leaning against the bar. There was no point in riling her up right now, and at least she had offered him answers.
"Answer them then, since you obviously know me so well." He grumbled before taking a sip of whatever she had gotten. Was he sulking? Yeah, a bit. She could tell him exactly why her actions bothered him so, yet he had not even an inkling as to why she had run away. The only conclusion he could come to was that she wanted to get away from him, and that puzzled him even more.

He swirled the liquid within the decanter and focused his gaze upon Amaranthe as she started to speak once more. A slight smile graced his lips at the familiar nickname. Amaranthe was the only person who had ever had the guts to give him one, and the only person who he would accept such a thing from. He heard her words and, for the most part, he understood what she wanted. Why come to this place though? To where she was nothing? Why did these people matter to her? What made them so important? They were like cattle to him, nothing more. Yet she wanted to protect them, offer a sanctuary. But what did she get out of all of this? To him, it didn't seem like she was getting anything.

And now, here she was offering herself to him. No more fighting, just him and her...but without anything else. She wouldn't return, wouldn't give him the title he so desired. The power. But what was he here? Just a demon of lust, wasn't he? At home he had power, here he would have her. Why couldn't he have both? Power or Amaranthe, but never both. Why? Why couldn't she just make life easy on him and come back? He set the crystal decanter down on the bar to keep himself from breaking it like he knew he might.
"Why?'" It was the first word out of his mouth once she was finished. "Why do you want to stay here? What would I be here? On our plane I have power, but here I am nothing. Would you even want me here?" That last one, that was the real question. Because, clearly, she could force him away if she wanted to. He shook his head. These questions infuriated him. Everything about this situation agitated him.

xxxx⇛ℵεѵεʀ ɑℊɑɪℵ ωɪʟʟ ɪ ҏʟɑʏ ʏσυʀ ғσσʟ⇚ Her lip drew between her teeth as she watched the emotions dancing across Cadeyrn's face... Her mind flashed back to other times as she waited for him to finish speaking. The first time she'd met this troubled, infuriating man came to mind... She'd been a teenager still yet in their world, as had he...

Summer reined high in the skies of their plane, blowing the desert sands across the patio as she stood with her back to her families ancestral home. Her long hair, although only down to her shoulder blades at this point, whipped around her, her wings weren't developed completely yet, and they folded against her back to keep away from the biting sand.

Her two tone eyes watched as the chariot approached, fear clenching her stomach like nothing ever had before... Today was the day, she was being auctioned off like some cow to a slaughterhouse. The knowledge that her family cared more about connections than her own wants, left a bitter taste in her mouth, and a burning at the back of her throat.

But then she saw him, and even though she would never admit it, her mind was immediately changed... He was magnificent, even then... He was already a warrior of their kind, even at his young age, his body honed with the memories of battles he had fought, while she sat here as a royal. She'd never had to lift a finger, and watching as he leapt nimbly from the chariot, her heart skipped a beat. His eyes showed that he wasn't one of the royal bloodlines. Still high honor, to be of the guard, as the little armor and clothing he wore, showed he was... Not royalty though...

Amaranthe stopped her own thoughts there and shook her head as she looked up at Cadeyrn. How to explain, that he didn't have to be anything, other than hers... Yes, power he had at home, in plenty... He was a Captain in the guard surely, by now... If not a General... But here, here he would have her, her bed, her mind, her everything... Not something he would ever have at home. No matter how he wished to.

Finally, she stopped trying to overthink everything and let her own instincts to take over. For once, she let go of all her careful control, and as she did, her eyes bled back to their blue and red when they met his.
"I can't make promises, and I wont... But I can give you this much. I can give you the truth, what you've never heard from me. Not in the centuries that I have avoided making you a part of my life."

She hopped off the bar then and dropped to one knee before him, her head bowed, all that long white hair trailing the ground behind her as she spoke, her voice calm and even. "I fell for you the moment the chariots dropped you off at my home, even then, I craved your touch, your very being. I have run for centuries, to avoid you. Because, the truth is, that if I were ever to have let you catch me, you would have consumed me. There would have been nothing else. For awhile, it was easy, being out on assignment as I was for my family title to be earned... But when I came back home, it became harder and harder, every time you walked in the door, to not become engulfed in the fire that seems to come off you as easily as you breathe."

She paused then and raised her eyes. "You're right, you won't have power here... You certainly won't be "nothing" though. You will be with me, at my side, in my bed, my alpha and omega... Beginning and End..." she remained where she was, face upturned to him, on one knee. She had nothing else to say, she'd laid everything at his feet, rather literally. And if he didn't take it, then that was that... She knew that above all. If he didn't accept this, then that was the end, she would fight him, and kill him if she had to, but she would not return to their home plane with him.

Waking up alone when I was left to die
You don't know about this life I've lived,
All these roads I've walked
All these tears I've bled
So how can this be?
You're praying to me
There's a look in your eyes,
I know just what that means
I can be, I can be your everything

But let me tell you something baby
You love me for everything you hate me for

Love does not exist, it never has
Love is merely an illusion, a fairy tale for children
There has only ever been lust

Second thoughts flickered through his mind as the demon awaited Amaranthe's response to his words. Why was he doing this? He never did this, never talked about things like that. So why now? Well, that answer was easy. It was because of her, Amaranthe. It had always been this way though. She always seemed to bring about a different side to him and the demon wasn't sure that he liked it. He had been taught one thing while growing up, yet when he was with her it was almost like none of that mattered. When she looked at him that was what she saw, him. Not a simple subject. Not some stepping stone or someone to use, just...him. Honestly, it seemed like she knew him better he did sometimes and that thought was a bit frightening. He was supposed to be strong, without weakness. Yet she could read him so easily. If she really wanted to bring him, there would be no stopping her.

"I can't make promises" was how she began and his heart dropped to the pit of his stomach. Promises to what? Staying here? Or wanting him here? God how he hoped it wasn't that one. His eyes never left her as she spoke and, try as he might to hide it, Cadeyrn couldn't disguise the turbulent emotions which rushed through him. Here he was, some magnificent warrior. Someone who was supposed to be the epitome of his kind. Without fault, without weakness. And one word from her could destroy him. He had never been so vulnerable before.

Again, Amaranthe was offering him something. Not a way to keep her and the power he had worked so hard for, but something so much more important. She offered him the truth. The words she had never spoken to him in all of the years that they had known each other. The reason why she had made such an effort to avoid him.

His eyes followed her as she hopped off of the bar, her next actions causing his eyes to widen in shock. Amaranthe, princess of their kind, the woman he had longed for - still longed for - was kneeling before him,
bowing to him. It was almost like she was submitting to him, but that would never happen...right? Even still, he didn't want her submission. He wanted her. Amaranthe. The proud, beautiful, headstrong woman who had captured him so long ago. The only woman he had ever truly desired. Now he found out that she wanted him just as much. That despite her constant efforts to run from him she had actually wanted him. Could he really believe that? Was this truly reality? Because if this was a dream then there would be hell to pay once he woke up...if he woke up.

He wouldn't have power here, she confirmed that with her words. But in exchange for that, he could be with her. Forever with her. She wouldn't run from him any longer, wouldn't fight his touch. And that was so much better, wasn't it? He leaned forward, took her hands in his own and gave a little tug, he wanted her to stand up. Once she had he cupped her cheeks in his hands, his touch more gentle than it had ever been.
"Never again." He kissed her lightly, a smile gracing his lips. She was the only one who could make him do that. Smile. She was the only person who could make him happy. "I never want to be apart from you again. I am yours, Amaranthe. I have been since the moment I first gazed upon you. Please don't turn me away again. I-I couldn't bear it. Without you, I have nothing to live for." His eyes were pleading as he spoke those final words. Truer words had never departed his lips. This was why he had chased her for so long, why it couldn't have been anyone but her. If it wasn't Amaranthe, then his life became meaningless.

I'm the girl you've been thinking about
The one thing you can't live without
I'm the girl you've been waiting for
I'll have you down on your knees
I'll have you begging for more
You probably thought I wouldn't get this far
You thought I'd end up in the back of a car
You probably thought that I'd never escape
I'd be a rat in a cage, I'd be a slave to this place
You don't know how hard I fought to survive

xxxx⇛ℵεѵεʀ ɑℊɑɪℵ ωɪʟʟ ɪ ҏʟɑʏ ʏσυʀ ғσσʟ⇚ Amaranthe's mind once more returned to that time so long ago, as Cadeyrn's lips touched hers. Her Father's disapproving stares as she left the room, slamming the door behind her. No, she wouldn't marry this man, not just for the power he brought her family. She wanted more, she had always wanted more. And just the look in his eyes, said that all the interest he had, was the powerful title her hand came with. Amaranthe had never once defied her father, she had spent years bowing to his every want and wish. But no longer would she play the pawn to his games. It was her life, and that was enough.

She'd gone to her room then, the letters she would send to Amirah and Ambrosia already forming in her mind. She needed away, now.. Her friends had become closer to her as family, than anyone in her bloodline could even think of claiming. And there was nobody she would have rather had with her. The bedroom door shut behind her and she began to pack, knowing that her father wouldn't send anyone up. He would let her steep, or so he would think, in her own thoughts, until dinner... Hours, she had mere hours, to put this into play. Once finished packing, she had wrote out the letters, sending them by her own carrier birds to her friends, telling them where to meet her, and what had happened. They would be gone by dawn...

Amaranthe came back to the present in time to hear Cadeyrn speak, and her eyes moved to meet his. There was so much emotion showing in his eyes, and the shock must have showed in her own, but she didn't stop it from showing. Cadeyrn had never been one to show emotion, and such a moment, wasn't to be ignored. A smile crossed her lips and she shook her head, a laugh escaping her lips as her hair cascaded back and forth across her shoulders.
"Ah, who would have thought... You know my father would throw a fit if he found out that not only were you able to finally catch me, but you've even gotten me to agree to be yours?"

Her father was angry, ever so angry, as she stood in his study just after dinner. The anger that radiated off of him was nothing though, not to Amaranthe. The quiet disapproval of her mother as she sat at the desk before Amaranthe, almost broke her heart. They just wanted her to comply... Her mother had always been proud of the succubus that Amaranthe had come to be. Always first back from her missions, having finished long before anyone else could even think of being done. Amaranthe had to push back tears as she met her mother's eyes and told her that she wouldn't marry Cadeyrn, no matter how hard they pushed. That she didn't want this life for herself, that she had higher plans than anything they could understand....

That had been the last words she spoke to her mother, the only one who had ever shown her love... It was her mother's voice that called out from the battlements that night as Amaranthe vanished into the shadows of the desert night, releasing the hounds and soldiers of their home onto her own daughter. She would not be denied, she wouldn't let Amaranthe escape. Looking back now though, Amaranthe realized something, she had let her escape... She had known, the moment she was out of her bedroom, that she was leaving, but she hadn't called them out then, no, she'd waited... She'd given her daughter a chance, a chance to leave, to escape, to make her way to the shadows, knowing that none of the dogs or soldiers, would ever find a Shadow Succubus if they had shadows....

Amaranthe looked up at Cadeyrn then, and raised one hand to stroke down his cheek, a sigh crossing her lips. Her mother had known, even then, and had let her choose her own way. She'd known, that when it came down to it, she wouldn't have ever convinced or forced, Amaranthe to marry Cadeyrn. But she'd left it to chance instead, knowing that when her time came, Amaranthe would return home anyway, to say farewell, and to take her title.
"I suppose this has been a long time coming, hasn't it Cade?" Amaranthe once more shook her head and chuckled as she pulled away, resuming her seat on the bar top. She wasn't sure what to say anymore quite honestly, and she wasn't even sure there was anything to say...

But just when she was about to just keep her mouth shut and resume her drink, something did cross her mind, and her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked up at Cadeyrn.
"The rules still stand though... No hunting in the castle, and I mean it Cade... I don't expect faithfulness from you, not being what we are... But not within these walls. We have to live here, and I don't need a bunch of mindless zombies following you around because you couldn't keep it to yourself." she arched one eyebrow and smiled as she spoke, taking the sting off the words she spoke.

It was easy to notice the shock upon Amaranthe's features, she didn't hide these things as he did. Of course, that led him to wondering what had surprised her so. Was it good? Bad? Neither? From the way she looked at him he guessed it wasn't that middle one. So what was it then? It had to have been him, but what had he done? His thoughts on this matter disappeared when she smiled. She was actually smiling at him, and it was beautiful. He became puzzled for a moment as Amaranthe began to laugh, but she soon revealed the reason behind that mirthful sound. A chuckle parted his lips at the thought. "Yeah, he would be livid. Especially after finding out that I'm not bringing you back."

His thoughts flickered back to the night she had run away. He had been furious that night, sworn to find her. He'd not said anything about bringing her back though. Just that he would find her and make her his. Which, surprisingly, he had done. Not in the way that he had desired at that time, but in a better one. This wouldn't simply be a physical relationship, Amaranthe had offered all of herself to him.

When her hand rose to cup his cheek, one of his own came to meet it. His hand rested on top of hers and he turned to kiss her open palm.
"I suppose it has. A very long time. It was well worth the wait though." He answered, watching as she went to take her seat upon the bar top once more. Honestly, he wasn't sure what to say now. He'd already shared so much with her, more than he had in decades, centuries even.

His eyes never strayed too far from her. Part of him still felt like all of this was a dream, but it obviously wasn't. This was reality, his reality, and it was wonderful because it had her in it. He easily noticed the pause in her actions, followed by the narrowing of her eyes as she looked at him and a frown crossed his lips. What had he done so soon to upset her? It hadn't even seemed that he had a chance to do something. Did he breathe wrong? Really. he should wait for her to explain these things before jumping to wild conclusions. He was silent as she reminded him of her rules. No feeding within the castle, but he could go to places nearby to hunt. He just wasn't allowed to take from her residents. That would be simple enough once he had learned more about them, enough to be able to recognize them even when in a town.
"You would have my head if I tried to anyway, would't you? I know how to control myself Amaranthe, I just never had a reason to do so before." He smiled back and shrugged his shoulders. "If it makes you feel any better, you have my word that I will follow your rules."

He picked up the crystal decanter she had offered to him earlier and took a sip from it. So many changes, all for her. It would be hard, he knew, but if this was what it took for him to be with her then so be it. He was tired of the chasing and the fighting. He wasn't fond of changing, but he would rather have her then continue as he had been. "Why did you want to do this? Why do you care about these people?" He questioned after several moments of silence. It still puzzled him why she would care about these beings. Cadeyrn was nearly certain that she couldn't have known all of these people while she was on their home plane, so what made them special to her? With her sisters it was obvious, it was once you threw in all of the other residents that he became confused about the matter.

When you're going down on me
In between the sheets
Or the sound you make
With every breath you take
It's not like anything
When you're loving me

xxxx⇛ℵεѵεʀ ɑℊɑɪℵ ωɪʟʟ ɪ ҏʟɑʏ ʏσυʀ ғσσʟ⇚ Amaranthe raised her shoulders in a shrug as she kicked her feet back and forth, legs hanging off the bar. "Eh, I'm a sucker, Cade..." she grinned and laughed then, a carefree sound. "I wanted to keep people from having to go through what I did, or similar situations... Give them somewhere to feel safe... The whole Mistress and Master thing... That wasn't so much about the ownership... But more of, look, you can hand your life to this person, and know, that no matter what, they will always protect and care for you... Even when you can't do those things for yourself..."

She looked up at Caderyn then, her passion for this cause shining in her eyes. "This is a sanctuary, somewhere where people shouldn't ever have to worry about their pasts finding them. Which is one of the reasons it angered me so, to see you walk through the door. To these people, if I couldn't keep away the shadows of my past, then how could they expect it to keep away theirs?" Her head cocked to one side as she glanced over at him as she continued to speak.

"Now though, now they'll see, that sometimes, running isn't the answer, sometimes you have to make compromises... Accept the shadows of your past aren't always out to get you, and things could change for the better." Amaranthe finished off her glass and hopped down from her perch, turning with one hand on her hip to face him.

"Now then, enough of all that... No more serious blah blah blah... There's plenty of time for that.... What would you like to do?" She frowned internally at herself the moment the words crossed her lips. Oh wow... That was a stupid question... He was an incubus, what the hell was he honestly going to want to do... He'd been chasing her forever, and they were both lust based demons.....

He chuckled as well at her first comment. She was right. Amaranthe was a sucker when it came to helping those in need. She had a kind heart, but she would never let someone take advantage of that kindness. No, Amaranthe would never let anyone play her for a fool. He cocked his head to the side slightly as he listened to her speak. It was an interesting idea, the way she treated this Mistress and Master thing. It was something he never would have done though. To trust another with his life? To give them so much control over him? He just couldn't have imagined it. Certainly he would welcome another person submitting to him, but to take care of them? No, he would never have done that the way she had intended. In fact, the one person he had claimed as a 'pet' was someone whom he used to, among other things, spy upon Amaranthe and the others within this place.

Always. Amaranthe had always been so passionate when it came to her desires. And now, as she spoke of this home she had built, he could see it in her eyes. How much this place and its inhabitants meant to her. His mind flashed back to the day of his arrival. He remembered that fury, it hadn't been the worst he had seen from her but it was certainly a sight to behold. It was only a moment before he returned to the present, listening to her speak once more. He smiled as she added that next part,
"things could change for the better." Yes, they really could. If only they had been able to reach this point sooner. Then again, they had to go through what they had to get to where they were today.

He watched as she hopped off the bar with curiosity in his eyes, then smirked at the words she spoke. No more serious? Mmm, that was fine with him. She was right that there would be time for that later, and there had been enough of it already. A laugh parted his lips at her inquiry. What would he like to do? Well, that had to have been obvious. For one, he was a demon of lust...and Amaranthe had just agreed to be his. The woman whom he had been chasing for so many centuries was now his. Was it any wonder what he desired?
"What would I like to do? Well, I imagine that must be obvious." He moved to kiss her once more and smiled. "The question is whether or not you want the same though, isn't it?"

xxxx⇛ℵεѵεʀ ɑℊɑɪℵ ωɪʟʟ ɪ ҏʟɑʏ ʏσυʀ ғσσʟ⇚ Amaranthe found herself flushing, from the neckline up, as she looked up to meet Cadeyrn's eyes when he pulled back from kissing her. Good gods, she was acting like some teenager, rather than what she really was. A shake of her head, and she managed to rid herself of some of the color as well. She couldn't have expected anything else from him. They were what they were, of course that's what he wanted.

Although, if she honestly thought about it, who was to say that wasn't what she wanted as well as he did? She was cut of the same cloth, a higher shelf, but the same material, none the less. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she once more dropped her glamour. This time, there was a different reason behind it. No anger and rage to make her want to drop the carefully crafted persona. Not this time... No, Cade knew who she was, and what she was, and it was the utmost action of trust and belief that she would drop her glamour in front of him.

She turned and hit one of the buttons on the bar, dropping the shades back over the windows. The room fell into twilight and she pushed one more button, starting music on the system that played throughout her quarters. Her tone was careful as she looked up at Cadeyrn then and spoke.
"How about a bath?" she put out her hand then as she offered.

Once he accepted, she lead him to the bathroom and released his hand once they were inside. Shadows filled the room, leaving very little light, and as Amaranthe exhaled, candles around the room shined into existence, filling the room with a warm vanilla scented glow. Stepping away from Cadeyrn, she slid out of her boots and accessories, leaving the bangles and ring to scatter across the vanity next to the sink.

Her eyes glowed with her own power as she pulled the sweater she wore up and off over her head. A flick of her wrist, and the water began to fill the massive tub half hidden by a fall of white curtains. the scent of vanilla became stronger as one of the many bottles on the wall behind, dropped some of it's contents into the running water, creating a wall of bubbles over the surface. Her sweater dropped to the tiles below her bare feet, and her eyes never left Cadeyrn's as she slid out of the leather leggings that wrapped her legs. Leaving her in nothing more than her underwear, her hair cascading around her body in soft waves of white.

Amusement flitted across the male's features when he noticed how Amaranthe's coloring had changed. Even if he didn't show it, Cadeyrn felt as she did...perhaps more. He was nervous, excited, ecstatic. Waves of emotion rolled through him, behind his eyes, and each one of them related to her. After centuries of chasing, yearning, she was finally his. And she hadn't been forced to either, Amaranthe had become his of her own volition. Sure, there was those things she wanted him to change but they really weren't unreasonable requests. He was to follow her rules and leave her guests alone, simple enough. She wasn't telling him to suppress his nature, he just wasn't allowed to use those within her walls as his food source...and she had given him other options.

It was almost dream-like seeing her here with him but Cadeyrn knew that wasn't the case. If this had been a dream these events would not have unfolded the way they just had. No, there would have been a very different outcome. Her thoughts wouldn't have mattered. She would have been his, but not by choice. He'd have dragged her back to their home plane and she wouldn't have been able to do anything to stop him. They would be wedded and he would gain the power having her name came with. And where would she be left after that? She would be forced to become his obedient little wife To remain in their home and bear his children. He would never have her in the way that he truly wished though, not if that was how it had gone.

While he waited for Amaranthe's answer, his eyes remained upon her. Now, as she revealed her true form to him once more, Cadeyrn smiled at her. She was beautiful, no matter what form she took Amaranthe always looked so stunning. And the she wasn't angry at him this time, it wasn't removed to show her fury towards him. That was what made the biggest difference. This time when she dropped her glamour it was a symbol of her trust. Amaranthe trusted him, believed in him, and that was enough. He had her love, her trust...he had
her. Plain and simple. She was all he needed, all he'd ever needed. And if someone had told him that in the past he would have taken them for a fool.

His head cocked to one side slightly when she pressed a button and the shades fell over the windows and then another which started music playing. What was she planning? His eyes sparked with mirth at Amaranthe's suggestion and he took her hand in his, closing his fingers around her own.
"A bath sounds...wonderful." He followed her to the bathroom, allowing his gaze to wander just bit on the way. This was, after all, the first time he had been inside her room.

Once inside the room, he felt her hand slip from his own, something that was to be expected. Shadows filled the room they entered and he almost frowned since they hid her from him. All it took was a breath from the lovely succubus and the room was filled with candle light though. The flames flickered around them, shadows dancing wherever the light did not touch. The light was no concern of his any more though, he had something much more wonderful to watch now. He had Amaranthe. His lips curved upward as she began to remove one article after another until all that was left was her underwear. Beautiful. Always beautiful. He cupped her cheek in one hand and brought his lips to hers. He wanted her. Gods, how he wanted her. And now, here she was. Willing to be his. He unfastened the the clasp on his armor and let it fall to the tiled floor.
