He shook his empty soda cup, head tilting to the side, I... think so. It is hard to describe. But... there is still... he hesitated, rubbing the back of his head as he crushed the cup and let it drop to the floor. That other person. It is complicated.

It disturbed her suddenly that Christof kept mentioning some other source of his attention, and yet she never seemed to get a hint of him noticing someone else. It almost upset her that she could have missed it, unless..
Ah, is it the one you spoke of earlier, the one from your past? Is she still waiting for you back home?

The hunchback gave a grunt, glancing up at her with a deep flush before looking down again, No. Although... I did... the way I felt about her reminds me of... how I think about this other person. But it's not the same as how I feel about Miss Amrita. It's confusing. But no, Mistress Lotte is gone now. I am not to speak of it. Again, his hand went to his side, covering his kidney, his patience for the movie wearing thin. These people are stupid. Clearly the werewolf is the better choice, the vampire doesn't even work like a proper vampire. This movie is stupid.

Riley tried to push down the rise of frustration every time Christof called his mystery target ~this person~. He obviously didn't want to tell her who it was, and she should have respected that. It was just.. just.. it was very hard for her not to be angry about it. Amrita obviously liked him, and if he held feelings for someone else..
The mere idea of Amrita getting hurt, hurt her.
But it was still not her place to pry. He was adamant - he was not meant to tell her who he had feelings for, and she needed to respect that, because she was his friend. That is what friends were supposed to do, she reminded herself. Respect each others privacy. Even if it did make her go a little crazy thinking about it.
Yes, Christof. She sighed in defeat, slumping down into her seat and dropping her head lazily on his shoulder. This movie is very, very stupid. That's why it's good we're seeing it together. So we can rip it to pieces. Wait. Did she just..
Riley perked for a moment, and her eyes thinned to slits, before she dumped her head back on his shoulder in disgust. The vampire tells her to meet him so he can kill her, and she just goes. She deserves to die. I hope she dies. Do you know if she dies? I hope she dies.
The sugar was getting to her head.

It would certainly be a better narrative pay off than this ridiculous purgatory of angst. We get that enough just in school, He mentally grunted as well as physically grunting, which earned him a heated series of SSSSSHs from the ghouls in the row ahead of them.
Christof's eyes narrowed. If Mistress hadn't set her head on his shoulder, he would certainly have given them something to SSSH, but as it stood... he was content to relax backward, a soft smile on his lips.

And then, all at once, Riley was enthralled with the story. This was because the villian had her right where he wanted her, and he'd just thrown her into a mirror.
Ah! Ah! She hopped back up onto her seat and leaned in, her hands pressed against her face. He's going to actually get to kill her. This is marvelous! Look, her head is pouring with blood! I see now, the entire point of the movie was to make us hate her so that we would be able to fully enjoy her-
And then the sparkly vampire came. Her glowing happiness shut down in a heartbeat, and she slumped back into her chair, looking absolutely dejected.
Nevermind.

I don't want to watch anymore. Her stomach was starting to churn. Do you think we could just.. I mean..
She eyed the ghouls in the front row warily. The scene had begun to turn into flashbacks of the relationship concerning the protagonists - and Riley was starting to worry her snacks were going to make a second appearance.
.. can we leave?

Yes, Mistress, Please, please, immediately, The hunchback had started to make uncomfortable noises, Maybe they would let us watch the ending to a different movie instead. He could swear he could hear the rumbling of explosions next door. He rose to stand, and another gaggle of girls all shouted at him from behind, tossing popcorn and (in one case) a box of sluggos, sending the candies scattering.

Riley stood up with Christof, but when the ghouls behind them began to hiss at him and throw candies, Riley turned and her tentacles rose up, flowering around her head as they writhed like snaked and pointed threateningly at the ghouls. A high pitched scree came from her mind, stabbing into theirs. A few of them squealed, but most just writhed in silent agony in their seats, barely managing not to fall out of them.
A moment later, her tentacles relaxed, and one of them picked up the half-empty box of sluggos as she slid through the row to exit. Oooh, sluggos.

If Christof could have melted, he would have, drifting after her with a faint smile and head bowed behind his curtain of hair. Mistress? He waited until they were upon the exit to mentally reach out to her.

Riley accidentally (or was it) kicked one of the ghouls on her way out of the aisle, and then started to head down the steps, turning swiftly to head out of the theater. She stopped when she heard Christof's voice, however, and turned to let him catch up beside her.
Yes? She hoped, above all, he wasn't about to relent and ask to see the end of the movie. Nothing he could say would have been worse than that.

He was breathless as he caught up to her at a lurch, but his mental voice was not. It was quiet and timid, and as he reached her, he twisted his hands and stared at his pigeon-toed boots, I love you, Mistress.

Christof's awkward admission made her smile, and she reached out, pulling him into a hug. Good. She felt this outing was a rousing success, if he felt like that. I love you too, Christof.
Somehow, hugging him in the middle of a dim hallway just outside the sound of moody vampires and emotionless dialogue seemed perfectly comfortable.

Christof froze, unable to think for a moment. Under his coat, his wing fluttered, matching his heart. Finally, he slumped against her, all three arms wrapped around her as he leaned against her chest and breathed in her scent.
