Wash raised one eyebrow, and then another, as first Robert began a brawl with someone he didn't recognize and then the inordinately intimidating little man with rather strong feelings about the world of music was being draped on by yet another not unattractive little lady.
His head hurt. Hell, his heart hurt, but he tried to be a good sport about it and smiled at - Candy-baby? Whoa boy. Maybe the whole giant-ninja-attack wasn't so weird for this place after all.
"Well, uh, ya know, it's been awhile. Y'all know how it is. It's been a little busy around here for, erm, singing." Besides, he was a little surprised no one else did. Even his tone-deaf father had hummed along to a tune or two.
"I'm alright ma'am, thanks for asking," he added quickly. "Do you sing too, Miss...? Th' name's Wash." He held his hand out again, sort of wavering between the two of them.

Leon shouldn't have been surprised that Robertilina as always, had some sassy kind of fight in him. Even in a headlock the fellow life hunter was scratching and clawing away at him, like some kind of angry cat or some other derogatory term. He was still amazed that they weren't part of the sun squad with the way Robert and himself acted. But if anything, the advanced hunters actions only made him squeeze harder on the poor guys bloodflow, he needed a time out. Or a nap, either option seemed good to the chainsaw wielding meathead. "I know you're not talking about beating me noodle arms." he said cockily to the fellow idiot and had to resist from yanking on his hair. Odds were the plum haired guy would cry from all the work on his hair wasted in that one moment. So with a maniacal grin, the brunette settled on giving the bloke a noogie. And Nidhogg, Nidhogg was pleased with the moment of mischief. The dragon practically sneered from his place in the hunters mind. At least until Caelius went and put it all to a stop, it was inevitable and he knew it deep down inside.

"I'M GONNA MAKE YOU WISH YOU WERE DEAD YOU LITTLE s**t!" Robert screamed as he was noogied, reaching his arm around as well as his leg to kick Leon's knees in and simultaneously try to flip him over. Sure, this would probably land his head on a nearby desk, or at least land him flat on his back on the floor - but Robert didn't care, he was going to pummel Leon until he looked like a plate of salsa.

Jordan leaned back in his chair and tilted his head back to look at the combatants. "Guys," he said. "Could you save it for later?"

"Caelius is going to tan their hides." Candace whispered quietly, still watching Robert and Leon. But her attention was quickly tugged back to Jerry as he called her 'Candy-baby'. That was a new one, not even H called her Candy-baby. Jerry was very lucky she was letting up on the dislike of being called Candy. She giggled and kissed his cheek again, murmuring a gentle 'you are so cute' as he squeezed her hand.
"He sings!"
Candace paused in showering Jerry with affection when he announced Wash sang. She knew exactly what that meant. She tried to smile and not look upon Wash with extreme pity. No, no. She was glad Jerry made a new friend. It made her happy to see him so excited.
Poor sod.
"Ah, heh. Yes. I understand...and no." Her eyes darted to the man she was currently draped over. "I don't sing." She was gentle yet firm in her tone, giving Jerry a hug. "Anyway, it's nice to meet you, Wash. I'm Candace."

"AAAAAAAH!" Deryk cried out, "Guys guys! Not now! Bad time! Calm down please?"He was a little too far to try and restrain anyone. Then again, he probably didn't have the physical strength to best either of the two.

He had to admit, the idea on how to calm Robert down, it just plain didn't work, He could always knock him unconscious, it wouldn't have been hard for him to do. But the calm words of Jordan and the wisdom behind them rang true in Leon's ears (as well as the manic flailing that was clearly Deryk.), enough for him to let go of the rampaging Robert, and got a nice kick to the knees for the effort and watched as the man started to lean back.
So he got right out of the way. "We are the life squad Robert, so don't be talking about death like that." he said in a scolding tone before sitting down calmly in his own spot.
he was probably still bitchy When H came back and saw the mess he caused or something.

"She's my girlfriend!" Jerry whispered conspiratorially to his new friend, as though the idea was still magical and marvelous and unbelievable to him.

"p***y." Robert spat out at Leon viciously as he pulled away and sat down, only to instantly - literally like a light bulb - ease up and grin at Leon. He didn't know how Leon felt about fighting, but Robert loved it. He'd grown up a scrapper, just like his sister, and Leon was probably the only man in Deus that could take him, physically.
Robert sat back down on his seat between his two fiances and started to catch his breath, still flushed and red from excitement.
People should obviously start fights with Robert more often.
He leaned in and gave Petra a kiss on the cheek, before dropping his head on her shoulder like a loyal puppydog.

"Oh, is uh, that right?" He replied with a nervous chuckle, scratching the back of his head idly. He wasn't sure how to reply to that one, and instead just glanced between the two of them, and back to Caelius.
Gesturing, he added, "Why don't we all take a seat? Sorry if I've kept ya standing."

Ryan moved when Marcus' waved towards him. Though not before giving Wilson a playful shove. Only after that did he pick a seat closer to the other moon trainee and made himself comfortable again.
"Hey Marcus. Feeling better?" He hadn't seen the other trainee since the day disaster struck the island in the form of giant monsters and ninjas, but he certainly looked like he was doing better since that day.

This was the exact ******** reason why he hated giving the trainees more than even five minutes to get ready. The talking part, the friendly part, their noise level rising past any stretch of the world 'tolerance' in Caelius's imagination.
" If you are all done, I would like to discuss all of your behaviour during our last mission." At this point, most of the intermediate trainees were probably expecting the biggest smackdown ever. They were not wrong. "Every single intermediate trainee here has been suspended and demoted back to basic trainee status. You will have to individually retake your examination to prove yourself worthy of re-promotion."
The Death Hunter caught the looks of indignation and ignored it. "Fortunately there are a series of missions that require assistance beyond our competent existing numbers. All of you trainees will be participating in mandatory survey missions. Information will be forwarded to your phones. May I take a second to remind you all that these are surveillance missions. I understand several of your lack subtlety" - here, there was a pointed look towards certain rowdier trainees- "but I assure you it is simply for your personal survival. It would be a pity if the there was a repeat from the victims of the Sahara missions." Actually is sounded Caelius very much wouldn't mind a repeat of victims from the Sahara missions only this time involving more trainees. "Regarding trainees with revoked promotions, you will be working on these missions as acting advanced trainees, and are responsible for your group. If your group manages to provide appropriate information pertaining to that particular surveillance mission, you will be re-promoted."
The words almost seemed like a threat.
The Death Hunter gave them a second longer to digest this new information. "Lastly, all trainees have been given clearance on using runic weapons." He didn't sound too happy about this, as he shifted from his seat slightly, pulling out a rather worn pair of daggers, though they were visibly blunt, covered in faint blue runes. "Leon, Robert, if you two would be so kind to volunteer for a demonstration." There was an almost sadistic look to his expression as he gestured towards the weapons, one for each trainee to handle.

He knew it.
Leon ******** knew it. Just like being called out in class, Cael wasn't holding back any punches in the new year. If he was a boxer, odds are he would have respected him for it.
8| "Yes, sir." came the morose reply from the bulkier male, voice heavy with a touch of guilt and more so, concern for his health.
He still picked his frame up from the chair and briskly walked up to the front where Cael had the dagger out at him. Just there smiling and his own green eyes.
They knew it wasn't because he was eager to get it over with. And without praying to see the next day, he went to gently grasp the handle.
-Well Nid, it was nice knowing you.-

Eh? What was that Jerry had just whispered? Candace couldn't help but overhear thanks to her close proximity to the man, chuckling and kissing Jerry's cheek again. "You are so cute." She teased affectionately, nodding at Wash's suggestion to sit. "Come on, let's sit."
And then they sat. Finally Caelius called the meeting to order and Candace immediately felt a sense of dread. Their behavior? She should be okay..she didn't do anything wrong while the leaders were gone. She'd been good! She and Cass had gathered the few Mist trainees together, introduced each other, and helped protect the ba--
"Every single intermediate trainee here has been suspended and demoted back to basic trainee status. You will have to individually retake your examination to prove yourself worthy of re-promotion."
Candace felt like she just got stabbed in the gut with Clarice's weapon.
Demoted.
She was being demoted when she did nothing wrong. Her eyes were wide and brimming with quickly building tears as she tried desperately not to break down right in front of Caelius. Again. She was being demoted. No! She'd worked so hard! Aria was going to be so disappointed in her! No! Nonono! Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. It was like that day all over again; she'd worked so hard only to have it stripped away with a few simple words. And she hadn't even done anything wrong! She'd worked so hard to get this far and in the end it didn't even matter?! Her chest felt tight, her head was buzzing, and her stomach was churning. Even her hands shook as she tried to keep them gripping the gold and black-trimmed cuffs of her coat. Her Intermediate trainee coat. He couldn't take it away from her! No!
Re-promoted? Oh god. Yes please. Candace was quietly sniffling and wiping the bottom of her eyes as she did her best to stay presentable.
Demoted.
Candace was paying more attention to Caelius now than she ever had before. She would earn back her goddamn promotion.

Gale didn't really hear much past the ""Every single intermediate trainee here has been suspended and demoted back to basic trainee status. You will have to individually retake your examination to prove yourself worthy of re-promotion."
At which he gave Caelius a look of utmost horror and revulsion.
Suspended?
<< ....oh dear. >> murmured Jinhai, but he no longer sounded amused. Gale, on the other hand, was giving Caelius a look that was remarkably similar to a wild tiger for someone so small and young.
Suspended.
The word hung over his head like a black cloud, and Gale could feel the mutinous anger twisting in his veins. He had not failed that last bloody mission - there had been extenuating circumstances that their fearless leader had not seen.
Angrily he slumped back in his chair with an expression of immense dislike that was directed completely and utterly towards the Death Division Leader. There had been times when he had been furious at Caelius before, but he could not remember a time when he had held such a horrible loathing towards the man before.
He damn well was going to get his promotion back. He had not worked so hard to get to where he was only to lose it all in one fell swoop because Mommy Caelius had come home in a disgruntled mood.
You bloody b*****d.
Demoted. It was such an ugly term. That, combined with the fact that Caelius had mentioned That Mission, and the fact that they now had to retake their promotion missions made Gale in a very bad mood indeed.
