"No. I know you can do it. I just... pushing too much at once," he said with a sigh. Before too long, Shun climbed over the edge where he sat to let his muscles relax. It was definitely more of a strain to climb up with a passenger.

Now that they were up there, he went ahead and removed the harness. It was pretty apparent they wouldn't be rappelling down.

"However.. you did make it up halfway on your own. That's a start. Also... look around," he said as he made his way to crouch besides her. Those hands needed tending to.

"L-look around but its-" Mitsu trailed off as she sat back, actually looking beyond the reaper at the scenery that lay before them. True it was high but...it almost didn't look real. It was so expansive, Mitsu had never been able to see so far before. She felt like she was gazing at a picture. The forest didn't look as dark and gloomy from above, though the looming storm clouds were threatening to fix that. Lightening flashed and thunder boomed in the distance. It was going to be quite the storm. The air had even started to feel heavy with moisture. The rains were coming.

"It's pretty..." Mitsu said still captivated by what she was seeing and not at all focused on the storm clouds. It made her wonder what it would look like if it was clear and the sun was rising and setting. The bursts of color across the sky would no doubt be something to see.

Taking the disinfectant and bandages out of his bag, he gently took Mitsu's hands into his to start treating them. There wasn't much he could do aside from clean and wrap up, but it should do for while they were out here.

"Isn't it? Being high up isn't so bad really. Especially in areas like this. You can see the lands all around," he explained quietly while looking towards the thunder clouds in the distance. They would have to seek shelter pretty soon. But for now, they still had a little bit of time before the rains would be upon them.

"It makes for a nice place to help clear your head.." he added.

Pausing there, he glanced down and away.

"And.. I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have put you through so much at once.."

The scenery was almost enough to distract Mitsu from her hands being treated. Almost. She still winced the moment the disinfectant touched her wounds, a light hiss forced out from between her teeth. Her fingers were pretty roughed up but none of the wounds looked too deep. They would probably heal fairly quickly.

"I've..never seen anything like it," Obviously, she had never been so high not to mention she spent the majority of her life in either the city or town. She had hardly been outside in such a highly wooded area.

Finally catching sight of the storm clouds approaching Mitsu could feel the winds picking up around them, howling as it made its way through the trees. Ears folding back she turned to Shun just as he looked away and apologized. "It's okay, you didn't know." Mitsu said softly. "It's...kind of embarrassing so I never said anything. I do my best to pretend it doesn't bother me." Normally she could pass off her moments of vertigo as just being clumsy. She wasn't the most graceful on her feet so no one really questioned it.

"Still.." murmured Shun before watching the clouds rolling in. He wanted Mitsu to be able to enjoy the view for a little longer but they had better get going at this point.

"We better get moving. There's a small cave not too far from here. We can wait there while the storm passes over," he said before getting to his feet. Taking in a breath, he reached out to help her up as well.

"..And don't worry. It's back that way," he added while motioning away from the edge of the small cliff.

"It seems like the rain is coming in fast," Thankfully when Shun helped her to her feet he had taken hold of her arm to pull her up. She held on once she was on her feet looking in the direction he indicated. It was nice to know it was well away from the cliffs.

"Okay, lead the way." Her heart was still calming from the experience but the further and further from the cliff they got the less tense she became. When it was no longer in sight she seemed rather calm despite her sore hands.

Once they were on their feet, Shun moved quickly to make sure they'd reach shelter before getting hit with the oncoming downpour. Thankfully, the cave was indeed not too far off. It wasn't too big, but it was enough to provide them some cover for awhile. Upon arriving, he ducked on in. The ceiling was a bit low, so he couldn't stand up completely straight.

Sitting upon the ground, he set his bag to the side.

"Alright.. does.. anywhere else hurt?"

The pace had been quick though they didn't have to go far. Once they arrived Mitsu followed Shun inside. The cave was low but she wasn't as burdened to hunker down like Shun was. Ah the advantages of being short.

A little ways inside Shun had taken a seat and Mitsu shifted her pack off her shoulders minding her hands and set it down before taking a seat too. It seemed they had made it inside just in time, the rain started to come down, softly at first speckling the ground with dark spots before all of a sudden it let loose. The down pour was so thick it was almost hard to see passed into the trees.

"We might be here a while." Turning to Shun at his question Mitsu shook her head. "No, I'm okay. My hands don't hurt too badly and I'm not hurt anywhere else." Smiling reassuringly Mitsu continued. "So have you come here regularly? You seem to know the area really well."

Just in time. Shun stared out as a curtain of water practically fell before the cave's entrance. Watching it, he thought on Mitsu's question, shrugging lightly.

"It's been awhile since I last came here. But before I came now and then. Like I said, it was generally for outdoor training," he explained while bringing his knees up to rest his chin upon.

"I didn't just come here, though. Since this is a bit far from where I come from. It was one of a few areas really," the reaper added, "The city itself didn't really have anything like this too close by and all."

"Training," Mitsu nodded. She didn't understand entirely what Shun trained for but she knew of his training and some about his father's treatment. Other than that the life of the reaper outside of school was a mystery and it seemed Shun was going to keep it that way.

"Where I lived there were really no forested areas either. Just lots of buildings and houses. Amity is as close to the forest as I've ever been until now." And she liked it much better. It wasn't as loud, it was peaceful.

Sniffing the air lightly Mitsu couldn't help but pick up a scent over the rain. It was hard to say what it was but it smelled like an animal. Looking around she really didn't see anything though so for the time she dismissed it. It was possible something had wandered into the cave earlier and had left.

"It was like that where I'm from too. Though, I guess in a way it was its own forest. With as many tall buildings there were and whatnot," he murmured, recalling a few of the streets and scenes. It was an interesting place to say in the least, and he didn't mind the location. It was more of certain people there that made him not like the area all too much.

"Since you've experienced both now.. which do you think you prefer?" he asked, before watching her as she looked around for the moment. Shun didn't think anything of it though. Maybe she thought she had dropped something.

"Its hard to say, I'm used to being in the city though I never got a chance to really explore there either," Which might have explained her poor sense of direction. She had never really had to opportunity to exercise her ability and figure out the best way to get around and then back without getting lost. Slowly she was learning but it was taking a while.

"I do like being outside though. Its calm and peaceful and the smells are different." Speaking of smells the scent she had caught before was getting stronger. An odd musky odor she just couldn't place. Her ears twitched as she pick up a noise behind them, a agitated noise coupled with scratching. "W..what is that?"

That was right, Mitsu had been sheltered quite a bit if he recalled. Her own guardian was a hardass in his own right. Frowning at the thought, he just nodded as she seemed to enjoy the outdoor woodsy type areas. It was definitely a different thing from big cities.

Shun didn't get to think about it too much as he heard the noise coming from behind as well. A faint scent also hit him.

"It seems this cave has an occupant. New one from when I was last here," he murmured while summoning his daggers. He couldn't tell what it was, so he could not be certain if it was a hostile creature. It didn't sound particularly happy. That was all he could tell.

"If it's smart, it'll just stay back there and let us have our stay."

Mitsu's ears folded back, her eyes a little wide as her gaze shifted back trying to spot whatever was making the noise. There was still nothing at first, only darkness. As soon as Shun summoned his daggers an uneasy feeling settle over her and she moved grabbing for her bag. "M-maybe we should just go. We can find somewhere else to wait out the storm."

That was when it appeared. At first there was nothing more than angry yellow eyes in the shadows as the creature loomed closer, snarling and snapping its jaws. It was indeed not happy for whatever reason its teeth fully bared as it came into view. The lightening that flashed outside illuminated its form in the darkness of the cave, for a moment showing them the badger before everything went dark.

"Shun..." Mitsu had already started to back up, her pack held closely to her chest.

"I think that was a badger," Shun said while staring into the darker depths of the cave. He wasn't going to give up their shelter without a fight if he could help it.

"Take it easy," he said lowly to the angry creature, "We're just here during the storm. We'll be out once it's over with. Now settle down."

The Reaper had also shifted in front of Mitsu protectively. While badgers weren't that big, they could probably still do a fair bit of damage.
