She was startled to find that another hunter absolutely mauled the creature. Flair shook her head before moving onto another cage. Fortunately the runic hunters were fairly quick. She moved onto the fifth cage. Her eyes narrowed as she stared at the peculiar cage, especially since she could hear Glare growling in her head. What was wrong? She took aim and fired. Flair nearly gawked. She had meant to do little damage! Honest. Glare, what was that?!

She swung Nien at the monster. The blow stuck, but not where she wanted it to; it glanced off causing less damage than Aki wanted. Nien let out a grunt, a sign that it still wasn't enough Fear.
Calm down, little one, don't let the mission get to you. You have never been one to be scared.
She growled. That wasn't it. It wasn't that she was scared of being sent into battle or a suicide mission or whatever. She wasn't scared of the Four Clans, however foolish that might be. But still, the girl couldn't help but feel that something was wrong. Something that sent a chill rankling down her spine.
Aki shook her head, hair flying everywhere, and took a deep breath.

This time Cecil put *serious thuoght* into what sort of awesome action pose he should take while firing at the cage.
He probably should have thought more about his aim.
"Merde." He huffed, "Useless, stupid thing!" He glowered as the weapon slowly recoiled it's tongue. It was the weapon's fault entirely, clearly.

Most of the cages had been dealt with by now, so Andy headed for the one closest to her, where there was only one other girl hanging around- maybe she could help.
Or maybe... not. Her shot went wide, and from a distance away there was a shrill scream. Whoops. Slinking away, she made her way to another cage...

Alright, the best way to approach this was clearly to make sure the ladies were watching first, and then walk right up to the cage, aiming his weapon at point blank range. THEN he fired. SUCCESS! The tongue leaped out, smashing clear through the poor caged creature within.
I hate you, said the weapon who's name was Fuscus and really did hate Cecil.
Positively beaming at his good work he turned around to see if anyone had seen his positively awesome job of doing what everyone else was doing.

[Attacking cage 5] Miriam gave a little sigh and summoned Verdandi from the bracelet around her wrist, giving her a few swings for a warm up after the giant ring blade appeared in her summoned form. It didn't take too much looking around to spot a creature that had been captured by the Runic hunters... giving a smile and a little nod as she headed over to cage 5. "Thank you guys, I really do appreciate it." she said before taking a swipe at the creature, Verdandi letting a happy little sigh as she connected with the monster and gained a bit of a charge. Miriam just shook her head and took a step back then to see if anyone else needed a charge before thinking about going for another. As soon as the male hunter in front of her had fired off, at point blank range, Aki stepped up. Her second slash fared no better than the first one. The sun hunter bit her lip in frustration, that was humiliating. She raised her arm as if to strike again but -- Let's go little one...there are still others. Nien chided her. For some reason, she was sure Flair would have said the same thing.
Aki stepped back and out of the way of the runic hunters and the fear hunters lining up for charges. "Is it enough?" She asked Nien.
It will have to do. Let's go find Nico now.
She turned around and searched the crowds for Nico. Hopefully he would have a chance to get his charges in... Vogel was a Fear eating weapon. One that she and Nien both relied on.

TARGET CAGE 4It appeared getting these monsters snagged down in their cages was getting easier and easier by all the team effort put into it. The FEAR hunters had their task and he had his and he loved only having to worry about the trapping process.
"Alrightyuuh Imma get this one over here-"
Dylan moved over to where Gabby was and proceeded to attempt firing a grapple at the creature inside. "Yuuuh mind if I help ma'am?" he asked while he tugged the successful hook.Targeting Cage 4 Success Runic Hunters on cage: 2/4

 "Dananananananana Dananananananana ALL CHAAAAAARGED~" She was hopping around excitedly, singing to the Batman theme, carrying her fully charged weapon around, a weapon who was currently spouting some sort of dull information about how Fear worked in weapons - which she obviously wasn't listening to, nor ever cared about - when she felt a hand on her shoulder and stopped to look around. Lowe still looked shaky, but she touched his hand with hers, and gave him a gentle smile. "You all ready, tough guy?"

Marsh stood to one side, watching as the others fed their weapons. The sense of Miyako twisted and turned in his mind, rolling and rubbing like a cat on silk sheets. She whined and yipped, excited by the little taste of battle. More, she demanded. "We'll get there, sweetheart," he said softly. "Soon you'll get to feed as much as you like." He let the tails of the whip slide across his palm, stroking the lashes like a pampered pet. Was this their final mission? He wondered every time, testing the idea like prodding a sore tooth. He was never sure if he wanted it to be the last time. Survival meant keeping someone else safe, somewhere, sometime. But perhaps, this time, he would be among the mourned instead of the mourning. They were striking into the heart this time. This mission might well be the one. Marsh shook his head, shaking off the morbid reflections. Em and Lowe stood nearby, having fed their weapons; he went to join them. "Ready to kick some a**," he said, forcing himself to be cheerful.

Melly was a little bit surprised when one of the others surrounding that last cage spoke to them. It was hard enough just keeping the thing pinned down without having a conversation too! But she wasn't about to be rude and even if they were all going to die soon ... never hurt to get to know someone new. "Yea, it really is! Ugh!" She yanked her own gun downwards a little as the thing thrashed, then flashed all of them a quick grin. "I'm Melly by the way! Who else is glad that we don't have to go ... in there?" she nodded toward the portal.

Thankfully, it didn't take long for the Fear Hunters to finish off the monster that his 'team' had been engaged in, and considering everyone else seemed almost ready to wrap up, there was more than enough time to harass certain people who had left him high and dry.
"Nice." Caelius remarked from somewhere behind Andy, observing as her grappling hook yielded a small agonized scream from some poor victim. "Maybe if they're lucky, you put them out of their misery."

"Got that right!" Julio agreed as he held on tightly. It seemed like this monster had a lot more to it than the first one he managed to help snag. This meant it was probably a very good idea the four of them had this thing pinned down right about now. "Looks like this one is a bit tougher than the others," he commented, "But should be no big deal. Just gotta make sure we keep it down." Once he was sure he had a firm grip, he flashed a smile to the other three, especially to Melly and C. "I am Julio Perez. Pleasure to be of acquaintance, senoritas. Lovely day to be saving the world, no?" he greeted before glancing to the portal, "Perhaps. Though I have to admit I am a bit curious what lies on the other side."

Lowe smiled at Em for a moment, though he seemed tired and nervous. Listless would have been a good word to use, and he fished around in the pockets of his pants to find what it was he was looking for. When he did snag it a look of 'a-ha' graced his features, and he tugged out what looked like a necklace. It was made entirely of bottle caps with some pieces of rounded glass in between, and the youth smiled and held it out. "For you, as luck. For you, my friend."
Inside his mind Afzal was screaming for more. How dare he only be allowed such small tastes when before he could feast like a king? How dare Lowe do this to him.
The Sun Hunter shook his head as Marsh came up, and he grinned through what looked like a forced wink. ( Lowe didn't know how to wink ). "I am always ready to die, I just would prefer to choose my place of passing."

Andy knew who it was, just by his voice and that condescending tone, before she even turned around- and so she didn't, instead returning his 'compliment' with a small hmphhhh, before heading over to the next cage to try again.
And missed again. Was it her, or was it the gun, seriously? She hadn't had an off day this off since.. well, since she was a trainee. Or maybe it was just the bad luck charm following her around. Either way, she was getting more and more annoyed.
"What do you want." She rounded on him, poking him in the cheek. "Don't you have anything better to do?"
