It was seriously a pain to clean up after the kids those slobs once lunch passed, so that's why Briar always saved it for the weekends. It gave him time to cover the distance between one mess to another, and he'd only have to focus on this room. Unless someone called him in, but still! Weekends were his cleaning time. There was no such thing as a day off because even though he liked to clean, there was only so much he could do at once.
Thankfully, no one was here to disturb him. Of course, that statement was ruined when a stray wanderer came in. Flitting over to the kid, Briar announced. "Hey! What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with your friends than be here alone? Well, if you don't have any company, you should help me out. I'm cleaning this dump, and I would really appreciate it if you pitched in a hand."

Isamu blinked when he saw the fairy. "Uh... um.... I don't.... have any friends," he told Briar, hanging his head. "But, I will help you.... to clean," he replied. He looked at Briar through his soft orange bangs. "Who.... are you?" He asked as he stood.

"No friends? Pfffft, too late, I ruined that. For I, Briar Appleton, school janitor and coordinator of the Manliness club, shall be your first friend even if it's a bit creepy that you're a student and I'm a staff member. But still! Friend's are friends. You take what you can get."
Briar boldly proclaimed with a cocky grin as he zipped over to his small cart though it was technically huger than him in order to grab some rags still bigger for Isamu and himself. "So what's your name? Oh! Speaking of which, you should join the Manliness club. We need all the members we can get."

Isamu blinked at the proposal. He wasn't exactly the straight manly type. "Isamu.... and.... Manliness Club? Please..... explain...." He replied to Briar as he stumbled over his thick accent and horrible English jibber jabber. He took the cloth from Briar and began helping wipe down the horribly messy tables. Isamu wondered if Briar knew of any other bisexual or gay interesting students.

While he intensely focused on scrubbing stains away, Briar strained his ears to understand the mishmash of English that spilled from Isamu's mouth before clearing his throat before order to launch into his quirky explanation and also distracting himself from cleaning as he did so. Multi-tasking wasn't his speciality.
"Isamu, the Manliness Club will the most amazing club you will have ever come across. It is all about raging testosterones, muscles, and all that buffness. In short, we're just a group of guys that strive to be manly. That's all. You're free to join us."

He stared at him for a few moments before replying, "I do not think that I would be a good.... 'Manly,' " he replied. Isamu was very thin and far from buff. He was also a whiny a** sensitive soul who had panic attacks and cried easily. "The other boys.... are not scary... are they?" He asked. Isamu didn't like big buff guys, they actually frightened him to an extent. He found them rather intimidating. He couldn't even imagine himself having sex talking to one of them.

Briar gave Isamu a blank look in return before grinning.
"Hey, kid, look at me. Does it look like I can be manly?"
This boy was nothing compared to him. C'mon! He was a bite-sized fairy for pete's sakes! He was even pink. That was definitely the opposite of manliness, yet he was trying his best. He made a good example for the Manliness Club that overly steroid-stuffed men didn't have to be ideal.
"Well, if you're scared of a pink fairy that's the size of your finger, then I wouldn't recommend the club to you, but other than that, you should go for it. We're talking Manliness Club, as in, the members are trying to be manly."

"Oh..." Isamu wasn't sure if he was supposed to be manly. He was gay after all. "Do you think that if I become manly I won't get beat anymore?" he asked Briar in all seriousness. He was tired of it. If the boy got angry enough his demons side would come out and he would tear his abuser to shreds.... but that always led to serious consequences, so he usually just took the beating. Maybe if he was manly, people would leave him alone.

Briar had to put Isamu on hold in order to properly think about this. Oooooh berries, he didn't know how to deal with this. He was a janitor! Shouldn't this be aimed at a counselor or something?
"Okay, first thing's first. Manly or not, you won't be beaten up. I swear this on my wings. Second of all, why would you be beaten up in the first place? Have you taken a look at everyone else? We're all different, so it'd be kind of hypocritical if they did."

Isamu turned his gaze to the floor. "I get beat in my foster homes..... " He replied. The boy let out a sigh and turned his attention to the cloth that he was holding and the table that he was scrubbing. "Im also scared... that if everyone knows im gay they will pick on me or beat me up... "He added after a few moments of being silent. Briar was one of the first people that Isamu had told he was gay, and he was really hoping that the guy wouldn't take it badly or react in a harsh manner.

Awkward silence. Mainly because Briar had never been in a foster home himself. He was always surrounded by his 'lovely' sisters. Of course, he did his best to comfort the kid. "Well, you're not anymore. You're here now, and you're stuck in the dorms, so no foster home. Plus, if you think about it, when you graduate, you'll probably be of age and will be free to go wherever you please."
However, Isamu's second comment struck Briar funny. "Hey, what's there to be scared of? Is there something wrong being gay? Because if so, then that's stupid. It's kind of like saying that there's something wrong being straight. My best friend is gay, and he's not picked on. Actually, a lot of the male fairies where I lived were gay and stuff, and I was just... well, straight. Yeah. Awkward. Anyway! Don't worry about it, kiddo. If they make fun of you, they have no right because they probably have some secret as well."

"Im in a foster home now..... they are thinking of adopting me.... but if im bad they wont.... so I can't tell them im gay. They might turn me away....." He replied. "Maybe people at this school are nice..... maybe your right.... they may not care if I am gay..... " He added. He finished scrubbing down the table that he was currently working on and moved on to another.

"Then, they can be eaten by cats for all I care!" Briar scoffed, finding it ridiculous that Isamu should be so fearful just because of his sexual preference. "Listen here, if this family doesn't accept you for being yourself, then maybe they aren't the right one. There's plenty of families out there who are practically dying that they could even have a kid, much less anything else. There's always chances in life, Isamu, and I know I'm right about this. Things might seem dreary, but there's always going to be a bright side. You just need some help to find it, and I will be there!"

Isamu smiled a small bit, "Thank you Mr. Briar. I think I will try this..... manliness club.... and see how I like it." Isamu was willing to give it a shot now. Briar was so nice, and all the boy really needed was a friend... someone to talk to. He had thought of Akito as a friend but now he never got a chance the see the man, which saddened him.

Briar gleefully cheered out at the new recruit before remarking to the other. "Hey, there's no Mr. to it. I'm just Briar because I'm pretty sure that I'm younger than you. I'm still in the single digits. Haha! But yeah, in a totally not gay way, I think you should smile more. Everyone looks more handsome with a smile. Why do you think I do it all the time?"
