Oh wait...they were going to want to move fast, weren't they? Well, he was sure that with Mitzi's help, he could make a good attempt at keeping up with the others.

On the bright side, even if it smelled terrible, death by snowballs was a lot better than death by fire. She was freezing, yes, but it was better than the sensation of being burnt aliv--okay, let's stop thinking about that.

Xiu grimaced as she sat up, pulling her arms in and glancing around. It seemed to be relatively empty in here, though there was a wariness in her eyes. Shun had mentioned that something had been attacking the pumpkin patches here--were they still around, she wondered? Hopefully not.

Whatever the case, Xiu wasn't sure if she should go find the others or stay here for a bit first. Considering that she still wasn't 100%, she decided that the latter would be the best idea. She was sure the others would be alright--she knew that they would be able to take down that robot!

With a sudden intake of breath, Astra awoke to find herself in the Schools Infirmary. Although she was still feeling rather sore (which was weird, considering she had dissipated. How come she didn't feel like her old self?) she was alive, and not being strangled by a huge tree ornament.

The fairy shivered at the memory. Most of the times she had been killed involved a quick flash of pain, but this was slow, agonizing.

Sighing, she laid back in her cot and relaxed, stayed for a while more, then was up again and off to see what else had happened to the school.

((Entering from prp))

Mitsu had run as fast as her legs would take her back to the infirmary. She did not stop until she reached the doors and pushed them open, panic still clear in her eyes as she was in search for one particular person.

"Xiu?! Xiu!?" Her legs were a little shaky from the battle and all the running as she stepped in a little further. Mitsu's eyes missed Xiu in her first sweep, passing over her completely somehow in an empty room, before they finally came back around and spotted the baku. "Xiu!"

With new found determination the lycan pressed forward, eyes teary and regretful as she approached to embrace her friend in a hug. "I'm so sorry. I should have paid better attention."

"Mitsu!" What a relief! The fact that her friend was here now--and that none of her friends had reformed here--was a huge relief. The baku assumed that they had managed to take down the robot, so a smile began to spread over her lips. However, her expression was quickly replaced by one of surprise when the lycan suddenly moved towards her and pulled her into a hug.

"Wha--oh, Mitsu," Xiu laughed to show that she was alright, arms wrapping around the ghoul as she returned the hug. "Don't apologize! I'm okay--see?" At least, she was still in one piece! Which was...more than could be said about the infirmary. It seemed like those Christmas creatures were slowly destroying their patch! What would happen if they destroyed it completely?

...Better not think about it.

She drew back and grinned, though her cheeks were faintly colored. Lifting a hand, Xiu sheepishly rubbed the back of her neck. "It's kind of embarrassing though, don't you think? Death by snowballs, of all things." The baku seemed to be in a relatively good mood despite the fact she had been forced to dissipate. It was a huge relief to know that the others were alright, and while death was never comfortable, it hadn't been nearly as bad as being burnt alive. Shaking her head, Xiu struggled to slid off of the cot and rise to her feet. It wouldn't do them any good dwelling here for long, right?

As Xiu drew back she would probably noticed the ample amount of tears that had gathered in Mitsu's eyes threatening to fall. "Y..You shouldn't have died..." Mitsu protested. She had let her pack down again, all this training and she wasn't even using it. The lycan knew she needed to be more protective of her friends.

As Xiu stood Mitsu was there right beside her to make sure she was steady. "B..be careful, take it easy."

"It was my own mistake," Xiu assured her, her voice gentle but firm. She rooted around in her pocket until she found her handkerchief (which was, at the very least, not as strongly peppermint and gingerbread scented as the rest of her) and gently dabbed at her friend's eyes. "Mitsu, it wasn't anyone's fault but my own! I should have been more careful. I think I was more focused on attacking than defending."

Another sheepish expression. On the bright side...her training had clearly come in handy? She had landed some surprisingly decent hits! Of course, ultimately, the robot had landed even greater hits on her. If there was one thing to be learned from this battle, it was that she needed to be more careful to protect herself.

Xiu was grateful for Mitsu's support, leaning on the ghoul slightly as she got to her feet. "I'm just a little wobbly since I just reformed, but I'm 100% aside from that!" A pause. "Or maybe...a little less than 100%. Since the pumpkin patch has been damaged..."

Holding onto her friend firmly, Mitsu made sure the baku stayed on her feet. From the adrenaline and fear Mitsu could feel the odd sensation of strength fill her muscles and she knew if she needed she could probably lift and carry Xiu.

"S..Still, take it easy," Mitsu said with concern. The only time she had been killed had been from the fire and that had been a terrible way to go. The slow and painful death, the draining and disorienting reform. Mitsu had nothing else to compare it to and could only imagine the worst for Xiu's situation. To her the baku was putting on a brave face.

Looking around Mitsu wondered if she could do any good. The last time hadn't really gone all that well. They should have stopped Malcolm when they saw him but at the time it hadn't crossed her mind. The battle had complete focus at the time. "I..I think the others are alright but I don't know if we'll be able to be attacked like that again. And with the state of things here...." Mitsu looked at the damaged pumpkins again wondering what would become of them. "What are we going to do?"
PostPosted: Sat Dec 24, 2011 3:43 am

"I don't know," Xiu admitted, her voice soft as her mind jumped back to that concerning thought she had tried to cast away, "I mean...if the pumpkins are all destroyed, will we be able to reform at all?" It was a terrifying thought. Was it even possible for the whole patch to be destroyed, she wondered?

Mitsu probably felt the shudder that ran through the baku's body. "Whatever the case, we'll have to be a lot more careful from here on out." It would definitely be bad news if they ran into another robot or Christmas creature, especially if they continued to attack the pumpkin patch.

Why wasn't there anyone standing guard there?

Xiu's shiver was mirrored by one of her own. The lycan didn't want to think about what would happen if the pumpkin patch was gone. Well, she could guess. It would be like her original fear, that when you die that's it. You don't come back. Would the pumpkins grow back or would they shrivel out and die entirely? That glimmer of hope that Mitsu had started to develop was starting to suddenly diminish.

"Y..yes we need to be. I..I wonder where nurse Cricket is. The others will probably need some first aid but there's nothing here." They had already checked before and she was certain there were a couple of others teetering on death.....oh jack. "I...I completely left...without making sure everything was done. I...I didn't even make sure the others were really okay." She had been so concerned about Xiu that had clouded her judgement and she had left for the infirmary as soon as her brain could process that thought. Now Mitsu felt terrible.

((Entering))

Shun's pace to the infirmary wasn't as quick as he would have liked. That last fight left him a little sluggish. He felt tired and furthermore, he was really damn cold now. And wet. Once at the infirmary again, he spotted Mitsu and Xiu. Also he noticed that the pumpkin patch was looking more beat up now than the last time he had seen it. Not that much time had passed since then too.

"There you are," he breathed out, "Are you alright?"

The question was for both of them, but he was directing it a little more towards Mitsu. Xiu should be fine, having just respawned. The wolf girl, like the rest of them, was still worn down.

"I...I'm sure they're fine," She tried to assure Mitsu, though there was a hint of hesitation in her voice, "They're probably just--aniki!"

Xiu perked up, waving at the reaper in greeting. "I'm fine, and Mitsu..." She turned to look at the ghoul, and then back at Shun, frowning as she craned her neck and tried to look past him. Where were the others? They...they were okay, weren't they? She frowned uncertainly and shivered again. This time, however, it was just because she was cold.

"I'm thinking that I should run back to my dorm room. I should...probably change again, and I can get some spare clothes for everyone." ...Though she wasn't sure if anything she had would fit Shun, Mot, or Riyo, except that jacket that her parents had bought her a while back. It was a long and a little oversized for her, so...

It was also a shade of powder pink.

When Shun showed up there was some relief, though Mitsu was still worried about the others. "I'm fine..." She replied softly. The lycan had at least been able to heal a little during battle. It was her first time really giving it a try and it had worked out rather well.

"Are the others okay?" Much like Xiu Mitsu was craning her neck to see passed Shun to see if he had been followed by their friends. Not that Riyo or Mot would be hard to spot. They were both tall after all.

Nodding to Xiu, he shivered before replying. Shun looked a little more pale in complexion due to how cold he was right now.

"If we do another dorm run I'll likely just head back to my place," he uttered, then looked over towards Mitsu.

"They're a little worse for wear," he replied. Riyo had been saying something about waiting to die, but it was hard to tell how much of that was an exaggeration. He wasn't completely certain of Mot's status either for that matter.
