Calanoth rumbled deep in his chest as the green hatched. Always a good idea to make a good first impression.
Z'fer couldn't help but laugh out as he heard the Bluerider's comment. At least he hadn't been the one to say it! He was doing alright in his bet. Two had hatched as he guessed, two had not. He still had a good chance!

Cyrci couldn't help, but offer a smile smile to the energetic green as she slinked through the ranks of girls. It seemed the little dragon was playing a game of some sort as she looked for hers. She certainly didn't seem to be in any hurry unlike the brown who seemed to be systematically picking out his from the crowd.
It amused Cyrci how extremely different the two dragons from the same clutch could be. Glancing back at the eggs she paused. Wasn't the gritted teeth egg close to hatching before the prankster and jitterbug took the stage? She remembered seeing the dancing egg give a twitch too. Frowning she turned her gaze back to the little black Deceptively delicate egg.
Hatch dear glorious one. Please hatch. She willed in her mind watching the little egg with both worry and pride. Worry that something was wrong, but pride in her assurance that whatever dragon lay beneath the surface of that egg would make it.
Smiling at the little shell she turned her attention back to the other eggs and the hatched dragons wondering what would happen next.

'Slow down. SLOW DOWN. You're going to choke!" Their wounds had been dressed and slathered with numbweed (though Erelus swore he could still feel the grit and sand in his wounds) and then came the feeding. If Erelus had thought that he had an appetite... The hatchling put him to shame. "Just calm down!"
Acerath paused for just a moment, his eyes looking up at Erelus like the lad had assaulted him. But I am hungry. The blue crooned and Erelus felt his heart break a bit.
"Just... Just slower, okay? Otherwise you'll choke and die and then where will I be?" He offered the blue another handfull of meat chunks. Acerath hummed happily.
Sitting here with food?
There had been a breakdown in communication there somewhere but Erelus didn't know where it had happened. He paused and continued feeding the dragon. Even when he tried to meter the dragonet's intake the sly little thing would tease him or wrap around him to get what he wanted.

Although his eyes strayed to the Impressed rider-dragon duo occasionally, his main attention was on the hatchlings, and his emotions ran high enough that he was almost afraid of it spilling over and around and all through the Sands. Regardless of this, he kept his eyes where they should be, watching the dragons, watching the to-be riders, and trying to contain the excitement inside of him.
Just what was it about a Hatching that got everyone in a good mood? Perhaps... it was the fact that everyone came together in such a way that it didn't matter who you were, just where you were when it happened... And the dragons, the lovely dragonets, stumbling about the Sands, or... sneaking, as that green was doing. It was all so breathtaking, but also so exciting. And of course, there was the background hum of anticipation writhing throughout the crowd. Who would be next? Would there be one for every Candidate? He heard the voices in the stands, just as well as the others around him could.

The green was taking her time, wasn't she? And so playful! as the green darted around, then started sneaking again, Salin was tempted to try and reach out to pat the little dragon as it went by. She half lifted up a hand to try it, but decided against it. Instead she went back to pretending not to see her, and checked on the brown hatchling. He seemed to be moving around deliberately enough, so it seemed likely there wouldn't be a repeat of the bronze's performance. A sad expression briefly flitted across her face before she forced herself to put that out of her mind and focus on the hatchlings and eggs that were still here.

Picking his way through the boys, he finally spotted His and trotted up to nose the young man, pressing against his Rider for a moment before stepping back, Your Skewth is here, ShedrawnMine. Feed me?And the green, after sneaking about some more, heard the laughter of Hers and fairly bounced into the young woman with a call of joy and reared up to press forepaws into Anneke's stomach, big eyes whirling with hunger and happiness. AnnekeMine! Your Uluth is so very hungry! Come play and eat?And with that, two more dragons had Impressed... leaving gazes to turn back to those still in the egg pile.

Cyrci all, but crowed with joy for Shedrawn clapping and grinning at the boy and the other girl Anneke. A double impression! What a feat! Surely a donwerful comeback to the loss of the poor bronze. Now who would be next? What other wonderful creatures would come from the eggs? Turning she face the pile grinning.
Would the Deceptively delicate egg be next? Maybe the Sturdy egg? Topsy Turvey? Or maybe the Gritted teeth and dancing would finally make an appearance. Taking a deep breath she calmed herself eyes going steely with determination. She surely must walk away with one of these wonderful creatures.
Cyrci's heart and very soul simmered with the piercing pain as she watched the newly bonded pairs. They would never be alone ever again. She could only hope for as much in return. Glancing back at her favored egg she continued to will and hope.

Adi was late! Not that it mattered, since she wasn't a Candidate and couldn't get in trouble for being late to a Hatching, but still! She'd missed things. She'd been outside, and Mazamath had been back in their weyr (he had no intentions of hurrying, thank you!), and...well, even though she'd booked it when she heard the humming start, she missed an Impression (on the other hand, she was glad she'd missed a dragonet going between, which always broke her heart to see), and there were already a couple more hatchlings looking for Theirs.
Pausing to catch her breath, the bluerider scouted the crowd before sidling over towards M'cel and R'ne as the two dragons on the Sands found their partners. Geeze! If she'd been much slower, she might have missed the whole clutch, as quick as they seemed to be to find Theirs.
"Hey guys," she offered brightly, dropping into a seat. Man, were her legs ever tired!
That is what happens when you run, Mazamath reminded her.

"Ayuh!" M'cel cheered and clapped. R'ne winced and leaned away from him as he make a rucus. Great. She'd probably get in trouble for this somehow.
"Keep it down!" She hissed, elbowing him hard in the stomach. M'cel let out a little 'oof' and doubled over, wincing hard. When he caught his breath he went right back to cheering.
"Anneke! Woo!"
"Why did I come over here." R'ne murmured. When Adi came over she brightened somewhat. A blue rider from her own hatchling, Adi was a good face to see. "Please help me contain this blowhard before I somehow get in trouble for him."
"Adi! Look! Anneke Impressed!" M'cel grinned at her. "Anneke's mine. We're pretty sure, on account of the fact that we both act sharding alike." M'cel laughed.
"Didn't miss too much. One Impression after a nice little stomping and a bronze betweening."

Seyari clapped with the rest for the Impression. Both dragonets had found theirs, and it was just so joyous! His heart gave a little flip-flop when he thought about it, trying to stay calm, cool, collected.... Failing miserably, but trying anyway. He smiled at the new-minted riders, canting his head in short celebration of the miracle that was Impression, before looking back to the sands, almost wishing, hoping, praying. And he found his eyes straying. Straying to the one egg he'd sung to. Hoping it would find it's own this day...
He didn't know why he was suddenly so drawn, so worried about the silent egg, but he was. And it was... odd, to say the least. A lot of different emotions he usually didn't feel this strongly were overflowing in him. And he was letting it happen. After all, you can't force a waterfall to stop flowing. He couldn't clamp down on the joy, the wonder, the amazement, or the excitement too hard.. it was still bubbling, just under the surface.

Azylrin grinned as first the brown found his as another Impression was made while on the other side, with the girls, the green found hers as well! The candidate offered a quiet, "Congrats!" to the new brown pair. He didn't know the boy, but he felt happy for him! Though, with those three Impressions, now they had nothing but the eggs for the time being. But that was exciting too! He turned back towards them, eyes flickering over them all to see if he could spot any rocking or cracking. A few glances were thrown to the sides at his fellow candidates, a smile thrown here and there for anyone that happened to catch the shy boy looking their way.

The brown sifted through the boys and then seemed to have found his. He ran in Shedrawn's general direction and he had half turned to congratulate the boy beside him when the brown stopped very close and nudged him.
Your Skewth is here, ShedrawnMine. Feed me?
Slowly almost unbelieving Shedrawn scratched an eyeridge on the beautiful brown. Then he broke a huge grin and bright lights seemed to glow in his head. He had impressed and Skewth was his. His forever. A beautiful brown. Shedrawn couldn't wait to rub the multicolored hide with oil.
Oil yes but food first? I am so hungry.
"Oh yes of course Skewth" he said and scratching the ridges once again led his dragon over to the feeding tables. He knabbed a chunk of meat and fed his dragon for the first time. The brown hummed with approval and soon Shedrawn had to grab more meat.
He still couldn't believe that this spunky creature had chosen him. He felt all warm and fuzzy inside.

Enyo waited patiently as she watched the dragons start to find their others. She couldn't help but to hope her's was among the young ones. Though Enyo fond herself rather worried as she stood in the sands, she had already been left waiting before and there were little to no reason as to why she would not be left again; she shook her head to clear the negative thought away as she focused on watching the young dragons.
She was hoping her inner song would reach one of the two the eggs she wanted to know. Enyo hummed her song as soft and quiet as she could while she watched the two eggs she was favoring.

"Contain him? Come on, I'm probably the worst person to ask," she answered with a good-natured laugh. "Besides, he's older than us! He's the one who should know better, so we can't possibly be held responsible for him."
Adi was mid-wink when M'cel revealed why he was cheering for Anneke, resulting in a rather curious expression for a second while that filtered through. "Wow, you mean, like, she's yours yours? That's awesome! Bet you're really proud, then. Congratulations!"

She and her flits watched eagerly as the brown got rid of the eggshell and observed the candidates. Taking his time. Wykla laughed at the antics of the green. Silly creature. Someone would be happy with her, she was sure. There was speed in the green too.
The brown was working his way into the boys and Wykla tried to guess which one he was heading for. She grinned as the brown nosed a familiar candidate to her. Good on him. The green has Impressed too Mine. Oh she'd missed that by watching the brown. Quickly she glanced to the green and nodded. Distinct pattern on her.
