Maxter Matisyahu is really big where i live, even though my school has about 20 jewish kids (out of 3,500 total) they still play him at dances and during lunch proof that most poeple have no idea what they're listening to. no wonder rap still exists

Just because it's always good to hear more about Matisyahu...
Next Tuesday on 'The 10 Spot' thing on MTV they'll be playing songs from Matisyahu's new album. So we should all go watch that.

I would appreciate some suggestions of what Israeli bands/muscians are popular? what their general 'age-group' audience is? what type of music?
I've got Sarit Hadad, Ofra Haza & David Broza on my computer - I need more!

I thought I'd unearth this thread. I just saw a really awesome klezmer band here in Albany when I went to a Dresden Dolls show. They play a wide variety of Eastern-European music, including Jewish folk songs. They also put on a great show. They're called Golem, and here's a link to their site. heart
