As he scooped up his winnings Tai listened to the younger girl ask him what he wanted from her. He hadn't actually thought about since he figured it wouldn't matter to him. It normally wouldn't have but the stresses of the day had gotten to him and he might he have had one to many. So now it did matter, he did care, and he wanted her to do something. Although what he wanted her to do he didn't know. The worst part was that a multitude of stupid ideas were running through head. For instance make me a sandwich had crossed his mind about twice now. "Um..." he started to buy some time. "Come back to my place and hang out for a while." he finally said.

Rika chuckled lightly and replied to the man in the suit, with a great deal of sarcasm, “Aw, I’m only trying to be nice. Isn’t that the correct way to do business? Be polite?” The new guy scoffed again and replied, “Listen you butch whore, you don’t need to know my name, you know why you’re in here, and it’s no laughing matter. Admit it; you were slipping cards into the deck.” Rika frowned slightly in thought and nodded a few times, before saying, “Name calling, how nice. You must be one hell of a hit with the ladies. And no, I wasn’t cheating; it’s just the luck of the draw.” The man slammed his hand on the table and shoved Rika’s feet off of it. She dropped her feet to the ground and looked over at him for the first time, her expression calm but piercing. “Listen you cheating rug muncher, I don’t have to take s**t from you, and I could have you thrown out of this casino right now!” The man firmly placed his hand on her shoulder as if to emphasize the fact that he had her where she had no power.
Rika stared at the offending man with an expression that wondered whether or not he was a complete idiot and ran her tongue along the back of her lower teeth with her mouth slightly open before replying, “You have no proof, you scumbag. Who’d you steal the suit from? Some hobo off the street it looks like.” The man quickly lost his temper to Rika’s calm taunting and brought his hand back before smacking her across the face. This was a bad move. Rika turned her head back to look at the man and said, “I don’t think you wanted to do that.” The man was about to reply with an “Oh? And why’s that?” but never got the chance. Rika stood up, kneed the man in the stomach and grabbed him by the back of his suit’s collar. She swung him over to the table and slammed his face down on it, denting the metal and probably breaking the man’s nose among other things. She pulled him to his feet and pushed him back a little. He stumbled, dazed for a moment so he couldn’t see what was coming next. Rika had picked up the chair she had been sitting in and swung it at the man, hitting him in the left shoulder and the side of his head. His shoulder had probably been dislocated as well as his jaw. The man toppled to the floor and Rika set the chair down, satisfied with what she’d done. She put her feet up on the table again and said to Tommy and Shaw, “Paul was much more polite. I’d tell your bosses to get him back; this a** doesn’t know what he’s doing at all. Can I go back to my gambling now?”
The pair of bouncers exchanged glances before Shaw looked at his watch and said, “9.57 seconds under ten minutes. Pay up Tommy.” Tommy swore to himself and pulled out two fifty dollar bills, handing them to Shaw. Rika raised her eyebrows at Shaw and said, “I better be getting some of that, after all, I’m the one that did all the work.” Shaw looked at Rika then at Tommy, who looked back with an expression that said, “I’m not helping you out with this one.” Shaw sighed and reached into his wallet, pulling out a 20$ bill and handing it to Rika, saying, “Twenty percent.” Rika smiled and took the bill, replying, “Thank you for your patronage.” The pair helped the man in the suit to his feet and carried him out, one of them calling an ambulance while the other dragged the guy to the back entrance. Rika took their leaving to mean that she could go back to the floor as well, snatching up the folder on the table as she left and putting it inside her suit.
It was a good thing Rika was in a fairly good mood; otherwise she might have killed the man. Tommy and Shaw helped him to his feet and let Rika head back out onto the floor. She immediately went to the bar, sat down and got the bartender’s attention. “Hey Rika, the usual martini?” Rika shook her head and replied, “I’m in a bad mood Joe; make it a little harder on me. I just got done beating up the new suit; he’ll be out of everyone’s hair for a few weeks while he’s getting his jaw wired shut.” The bartender nodded and started making Rika’s drink; her normal martini was a normal strength vodka martini, the one he was mixing for her now was made with significantly stronger vodka, with something like 96% alcohol content. That said, Rika wasn’t about to down the thing in one go, she wasn’t an idiot. When she got her drink she turned around in her chair and sipped lightly, sighing as her only reaction to the drink that would kick others in the solar plexus as she looked out at the casino floor, debating what to do next.

He was taking a while to answer her question. It made her wonder what the many things he was thinking were. Of course, knowing how some guys usually thought of certain things, she wasn't too concerned in actually reading his mind. Ignorance sometimes was bliss. Sipping a bit of the martini she had asked for a few minutes again she simply waited until he finally answered. Tania raised an eyebrow at him. Hang out at his place? What did he mean by that? There was a chance his request would be completely harmless. Thinking for a bit she decided that she would just go with it. If he by chance tried anything stupid she would just have to do something about it. "Ok." She shrugged her shoulders as if it was no big deal, which it was really what she thought of it, it was no big deal. "Lead the way."

(Warning! Written late at night and I haven't looked over it yet.)
"Ok." was her answer. It seemed so simple and yet he had never expected her to say yes. It was something that he figured would never happen. So now once again he had to scramble for things to say. "I don't have my own car so we'll take the public transit." he said as he started walking toward the exit of the casino. On the way out he cashed in his chips and had the winnings digitally added to his bank account. He then left the building, without telling Rika which was probably a small mistake, and hoped into a waiting taxi car. He waited to get in before giving it the address of the apartment building where most of the Academy officers live. The ride was fairly short and once there he led the way up to his own apartment. "Well, here we are." he said. The layout was simple, there was a short narrow hallway, barely wide enough for two people to pass each other, which led into a rectangular living room. At the back of the living room was a tiny kitchen which consisted of a stove with two burners, a mini fridge, and a bar counter. Then off to the side of the living room was a bedroom. The living the room had a couch in the center, a table off to the side opposite the bedroom door, and a flat screen television on top of a stand against the wall closest to the entrance. On top of the table was a single picture with Tai standing next to an older man. The two were dressed casually and standing in front of a some kind of housing unit. Pinned to wall above the picture were several news printouts with titles like "Citizens report sounds of gunfire at local NAF base", "Rumors of Stolen Mobile Suits", "Terrorist Group Targets NAF Soldiers", "Resistance Fighters Push Back NAF Troops", and "Local Student Receives Full Ride to Colonial University at Edo".
"Um... feel free to sit or stand anywhere you like." he said as he flicked on the lights and kicked his shoes off. Tai then started to walk towards the kitchen when he said "Do you want anything to drink? All I've got is sake though."

Tania was amused a bit when told he didn't have a car of his own. It wasn't something that was usual. Oh well, he probably didn't really need a care for much anyways. "Public transit is fine." After the silent ride, which felt a bit uncomfortable because of the awkwardness basically, the finally arrived at his place. Following silently she would enter his place. It was quite simple, more simple then she had been expecting. Her eyes scanned the area as she took the chance to finally take off her black heels, leaving them near the entrance door. Walking around the sitting room she stopped in front of the picture of a younger version of him with an older man. It was probably his father. "Sake is fine.... You're place is more simpler then I pictured it to be."

Her answer made him chuckle a little and also made him wonder what she had expected his place to be like. Has she been to a lot of guys apartments? or did she just picture mine to be a certain way for some reason? he asked himself. Perhaps there was just some trait that he possessed which had caused her to picture the apartment a certain way. As Tai poured the glasses he said "Well over in Edo we live in pretty small apartments so I didn't have a lot things when I moved here." When he had finished pouring the drinks he added "Besides, I don't get payed that much for my rank anyway." He left the bottle out on the counter and brought Tania the her drink. "That's a... that's my father and I after he dropped me off at Edo University." he said before taking a sip from his own drink.

Rika sipped her drink lightly while looking out at the casino. She saw Tai leaving with Tania without even saying good bye and shook her head. "What a jerk. Oh well." Rika downed the rest of her martini and headed for the exit. She cashed her chips in on her way out, but unlike Tai, she took physical bills, she liked having folding money in her pocket instead of just having a bank account to access. After getting her money, Rika headed home; not wanting to take public transit alone, she simply walked back to her apartment. It wasn't very far and she preferred walking, it cleared her head, well as much as it could be cleared. She made it back home fairly quickly, her brisk walking pace made sure of that. Entering her apartment, Rika sighed and closed the door, leaning up against it for a moment before starting to remove her suit. When she had removed most of her clothing, leaving only her undergarments and a thin undershirt over them, she headed to her training room; a medium sized room, full of various exercise and training equipment. Rika had skipped her normal daily routine to go with Tai to the casino. Sighing she got started right away, starting with weight training of various types as she moved around the room. When she had finished,Rika wiped the sweat off of her forehead and upper chest with a towel, heading out of the room and to her shower.
After showering, she headed into her office, a small room with a desk, a computer, a filing cabinet and a large aquarium with fish in it, plus a small mouse cage next to it. Rika fed her pets and sat in her comfortable office chair. turning on her computer and thinking for a moment. After giving it some thought, she decided she wanted to talk to Seren tonight, since she hadn't been able to spend much time with her today. She ran a hand through her hair and accessed the video linking software, similar to a webcam. She clicked on Seren's link, which was her computer, then waited for Seren to receive the call.

A smoke bomb, Some of the smartest minds across the colonies resided here among the dorms that their units collected in, and some idiot had been stupid enough to try and make his own collection of prank devices in his room. "at least no one was hurt" Seren sighed as she returned to their room to find little had been harmed through the process. Mic was terrified though, and Seren felt kind of guilty for leaving him in that state.
She had followed Elise into the scene of the incident where they had found two unconscious culprits among the chemical components. Luckily they did not suffer worse injuries than slight concussions and minor burns, but it was still a stupid project they had taken on.
Crouching low to the floor as she peered under the couch for her little black companion she heard the faint sound of her computer making the call sound and she just barely remembered the system was still on. Trying one last time to coax the kitten from his hiding place she returned to her desk where she found to her delight Rika calling. "hey! morning! you look like you were out enjoying yourself" she said with a smile opening the call as she settled in the chair before her desk as the familiar face popped up on her screen.

Rika smiled as she saw the face of her student pop up on her screen. Seren's classes were running her ragged, so they hadn't been able to spend much time together. Stretching lightly and leaning back in her comfy chair, Rika replied, "Is it really that late? I thought it was only like midnight. Enjoying myself I was, but I am back now. How did you spend your evening Seren? You and Mic enjoy yourselves?" Rika smiled at her student and stretched her arms above her head. She thought there was something she was forgetting but she wasn't sure. She thought for a moment and then it came to her. Snapping her fingers she said, "Oh right! Your roommate moved in last night didn't she? Who was it... it was... Someone from your class I think... Elise right?" Rika ran a and trough her hair and fixed the towel that was sliding down her frame. She didn't want to keep Seren up for too long, though Rika was fairly certain that the medical student would be up all night anyway.

well, that was a big waste of time. This was what Elise was thinking when she and Seren made their way back to their room. A scowl on her lips, the young cadet had wanted to give the two unconscious guys a piece of her mind, she had been told by her instructors and her room mate that the teachers would take care of it. Elise hadn't been too happy about it to say the least but she had followed their instructions and headed back to the room she now shared with Seren.
Once back at the room, Elise only watched briefly as Seren tried to coax tha tiny black ball of fur for his hiding spot under the couch. Elise scoffed lightly, there was no way the cat was going to come out after something that severed had happened. Especially when everything was wet from the sprinklers.
Rolling her eyes, the redhead pilot went to go check other own pet, the iguana. She found him to be just fine and went back out into the common area to see if she could clean up at all after the chaos. What she heard was the voice of Rika coming from Seren's room. After not hearing their door open or anything, Elise was suspicious as to why she was hearing an officer's voice from her room mates room. Elise approached Seren's door and stood there leaning against the door frame of the open door. Her eyes narrowed in suspicion and mild interest as she listened in.

Rika was in a... Towel Seren turned red slightly for a moment. "y-yes, Elise moved in last night..." she sighed and rubbed her face with her hand, "you seem to know more than i did" she chuckled slightly and turned to shuffle through her papers she had been going through earlier. "we had a slightly set back here in the dorms earlier, i think you would have enjoyed" she continued to inform Rika of the events earlier as she realized there was a set in the pile of notes to her right that were not where they were supposed to be, crap where did i put them
"a pair of third years were trying to make pipe bombs in their rooms and it back fired slightly, setting off the alarms... and the... oh crap! my notes!" she remembered leaving the notes on a table in the comon room. Suddenly she jumped from her chair mid turn and took to the door, opening it quickly to nearly Fall into Elise.

The last and probably only male apartment she had ever gone into had been filthy. Technically she never went in. She saw the state of chaos it had been in and walked back out the door. Lets just say that kinda left a negative image of guys in her mind, plus she had heard stories of what her dad's roommates and friends were like. She should have known better then to assume Tai was the same, after all he was an officer in the military, and he didn't seem like he was the kind who could live in a mess. "Ah, so you're from Edo." She'd never been to the place but she had heard of it. "Thanks" Taking her glass she would drink a bit. Her reaction would be to blink twice at the shock of how strong it was. She hadn't been expecting it. Damn this is one strong sake! I don't think I've ever had sake this strong... "My shock had nothing to do about the size of the apartment. I've just seen how some guys live in a chaotic mess, kinda left a mark for all other guys I guess." She stuck out her tongue a bit as she joked with her mistake. "Guess I judge too quickly in your case." Although the sake was indeed strong it was actually good so she drank some more. "You and your dad seemed close in that picture. Was he in the military as well?"

So she had been to other some other guys' places. Well she certainly had a leg up on him in the department of visiting the opposite sex's house. It wasn't a problem for Tai but it did make him a feel a little bit more nervous about the situation. As she stuck her tongue out at him he couldn't help but smile a little as the gesture served to break down some of his tension. "You ah, look pretty cute when you do that." he said. However his smile didn't last, it vanished when she asked him about his father. "Yeah, we served together in the war." he said before taking a drink. "He was a Captain in the CAM." He then took another drink from his glass. "Let's change the subject... what does your dad do?"

It seemed Tai had tensed up but her gestured helped the situation until he called her cute. Blinking her face turned a light shade of red in embarrassment.She turned her face away and took another few sips of her sake. It seemed talking about his dad was a touchy topic. But they had both served in the war which probably meant he must have died. It was the only explanation she could think of to explain his hesitance. "M.. my dad?" She turned to him as she tried figuring out how the conversation went from his dad to hers. "He works in a factory... he usually fixes the machines and works the transportation stuff..." In other words her dad just had a regular simple job.

It seemed that his quick change of subjects had thrown her off a little bit. Though she did recover quickly enough to tell him what her dad did for living. "Well that's certainly an important job, we need people who fix machines or else we'd never be able to live in outer space." he told her. As he took another drink from his own glass Tai noticed that they were both getting low on sake. As he walked back over to his kitchen counter he asked "Would you like me to refill your glass Tania?"
