BACKSTAGE / ACTORSHel watched Mot pace back and forth, resting her weight on one hip with her arms crossed. She tried to assure him that this wasn’t a big deal, and he’d do fine like he always did. He really was just getting himself worked up for no reason…whatever happens, happens! She honestly wanted to just get this over with soon…but still do a good job as well! She gave him a reassuring pat as he made his way out, and watched and listened to him from back stage, before looking over at Sammy. “ You and I might not be until the next act honestly, friend…but we’ll be ready, ya?” She grinned at the undead ghoul, and then waved at Riyo and Xiu to encourage them on. She then looked back at where Sammy had gone off to, near another one of their fellow actors, and looked at Zar curiously for a moment before turning her attention back to the stage.

BACKSTAGE -- ACTORS
Ulmuka had been backstage and was slightly nervous. Slightly. He was mostly concerned with remembering his lines and not freezing in front of the crowd but he was also excited. It was his first time on stage, ever, and it would be in front of most of the school.
He was also aware he was missing the biggest sale day in all of the year. He should have been at the maul right now!! CLOTHES! But his school career was just beginning so school activities were more important. Clothes were at least still included in the play!
Rehearsing had been short with the Boogeymen invading not long before and so Muka had to do his own costume. Being an owl helped but he also needed some human clothes and so had pulled out one of his fancier gold and cream topcoats with tails and a golden cape. It was very flashy but he felt it went with the holiday spirit.
He was standing off to the side trying his best to control his shifting. There was a gross bone popping sound every time he switched between owl and humanoid form but it seemed to get smoother every time he did it. He'd hate to end up with an owl's head on a boil's body!
OH THE NARRATION! It would be his turn soon!

Not long after sitting down, Jericho heard Lizzy's voice. Turning around, he smiled and waved over at her. She was looking better today than she had been last he saw her. Whether or not she was actually better was a good question.
"Hey Lizzy!" he replied before looking over at Bul, "Glad you could make it man. Don't suppose you were around for last year's play? I missed that one. But.. I hear it was kinda bad anyway."
Maybe it wouldn't be the case for this year. Only time would tell.
He squeezed Riley's hand as he felt it slip into his own, then raised an eyebrow at Demi.
"Don't mind. Just hope my wings don't get in the way."

Calm, happy, calm, happy...
Mot was now backstage, his smile disappearing completely. He bee-lined for Hel and slumped his head onto her shoulder, letting out a big sigh. "Ididititsdone.." He said in a small, squeaky voice. The boil seemed to be on the cerge of hyperventilating. "Therewassomanypeople..."

AudienceMore people were coming on in now. Among them, Shun spotted Lizzy filing on in. After casting a glance towards Mitsu, he motioned for her to come along before walking over by where the spider demon was. "Hey. How are you holding up?" he asked her quietly. As far as he knew, she was still torn up over what had happened. She looked to be alright, for the most part. Briefly, he glanced on around to see if there was any sign of the Reaper that was the cause of Lizzy's strife. He didn't see him around. Good.

AUDIENCE"Nope. I'm not too big on plays but.. I felt like it's kinda important to be at these things now.." he shrugged. Bul might've slipped into the one from last year if he hadn't been brooding about being a fresh snot. "Ya'll haven't seen Mei around or anything have you?" he whispered, then caught sight of Demi and grinned. "Oh hey you made it too huh-" he stretched back across the row and extended his hand for a bro-first from the hellhound.

Herryk decided he would ignore Tits.
He had set his phone to vibrate, thankfully, because it looked like things were soon going to be underway when it set to buzzing. Retrieving it from his little pouch, Herryk was happy to see that it was a groanspring notification from his beloved. He busied himself for a while, talking about Mort's disappearance, the presence of many rats in the maul, and Freya falling off a table. Herryk informed Freya of Tits, and he also told her that there seemed to be an owl in the theater. When she asked for a picture, Herryk obliged, of course.
Trying to be as stealthy as possible since Mot was on stage, Herryk turned in his seat and fussed with the buttons. A great flash probably blinded everyone when his camera took the picture, which he promptly sent to Freya.

The reaper grinned as Mot reappeared back stage, and gave his shoulder firm, affectionate pats. “You did excellent, just like you always do with your words! I do believe all the students out there are your friends, so there’s no need to worry! You’re going to have to go out again more to narrate anyways, ya?”
She looked back at Xiu and Riyo, tilting her head. They really needed to get out there soon…

AUDIENCETybalt had just started to make himself comfortable when someone's foot---no feet, plopped onto his head, forcing him to sit forward uncomfortably. Looking over his shoulder, and he would find the culprit to be Mei. Sitting there, with a wide grin on her face, as she sat back to enjoy the play.
"Hi, hello, kindly remove your feet please." He asked, shoving them off for her before she could remove them herself. "Me? Nah, I wanted to see how the play was this year. Since last year I never got to actually 'watch' it." Truth be told, he was just waiting for it all to screw up just like last year.
Ahhh good times!
"What about you? I didn't know you liked these sort of events. You not going to go the maul with all the sales going on and stuff?" Then again, for all he knew, she could have already done her shopping. Or maybe she was like him and picked out something cheap and random to give to people.
Hey it was the thought that counts!
The black dog paused when the music started, ears perking as someone appeared on stage.
"Oh--its starting!" He grinned, quickly climbing over the seat to sit beside the broken doll. She might have noticed an excited look on his face and he leaned forward to watch.

Calder was still a bit upset that he didn't get a part in the play, but that didn't mean he would miss seeing it. It was still a romantic story, and he didn't get to watch plays back home. Epic story telling, yes. Plays, not so much. He also hoped it would help him in acting class a bit, and all importantly, it was just another reason to go on a date with Barth. He texted the boil that he was coming over, and then went over to escort the boil the way to the theater. They found a seat together near the back where it was dark, but not too far away that Calder couldn't watch anything, and settled in a chair, nicely arranging his tail and then taking Barth's hand in his own.
The play started, and Calder noticed a heavy weight on his shoulder.

Sammy turned now to Hel grinning her smile showing just faintly under her hood and mask as she watched the other ghoul walk over. Giving Zar another pat on the shoulder she followed the Reaper stretching her arms.
"Hel right? You play my opposite in the whole thing." She grinned, "The big hero right?" She stood a little taller no longer stooping around like she was in character, she had been practicing.
"C'mon we've done a lot more crazy things then put on a play!" She jumped up onto a crate waving at everyone, "SUIT UP BOILS AND GHOULS. TIME TO PUT ON A SHOW!"
She hopped no one heard that outside in the audience...

It still took some time for the play to finish their preparations, the curtain still wasn't raised, Damien just figured that they were waiting for the stragglers to wander in.
Maybe for some kind of critic to show up. The mere thought made the hell-hound lightly huff in disbelief, as if Wristcal and Reambert were going to show up here.
"If it gets in the way, my flying popcorn kernels will let you know Jericho." he said back snarkily and gave the boil a pat on the head for good measure when Bul decided to pop up out of nowhere in the row with the dragon and others.
If there was a mallet nearby, he was sure that a game of whack a Bul could happen. "Where the Jack did you come from Bul?" he said startled by the half beast and flicked a piece of popcorn at his ear in retort for the sudden scare. "Haven't seen Mei but I'll keep an open eye for her." he always had his friends back and made sure he knew that with the returned brofist to the fellow monster.

Though her camera didn't have the flash on like Herryk's, Alwine DID have her camera ready. As president of the paranormal photography club (which at the moment consisted of mostly people napping outside of the Dark Room [which, Alwine thought, was utterly terrifying]) Alwine simply had to take photos.
They probably wouldn't turn out very well as she didn't want to blind the actors-- unlike some audience members, she thought-- but hopefully the lighting of the stage would emphasize the actors' movements and costumes.
Truth be told, the thought of Mandy dressed up in traditional ye olde boy clothes made her heart flutter in its bandages. She would be so cute!
