"I think I prefer the stuffed animal," Shmoo said shakily. Zero laughed his obnoxious laugh once more. "Oh, I don't think you do." He brought it out and tossed it to one side. BOOOOOM! The building that had been there was blasted to smithereens. All that was left was a pile of ashes. Kenrick and Shmoo looked on in dismay. "There might have been people living there!" cried Kenrick.
"Not anymore," guffawed Zero.
Shmoo had had enough of this guy, but before she could do anything Kenrick clenched his teeth and closed his eyes.
"Seles!" he cried and threw his sword at Zero.
Zero gasped as the sword flew passed him. Kenrick stared. He missed?! wondered Shmoo, until a long gash appeared on Zero's left cheek. Almost like a boomerang, the sword belonging to Kenrick returned to his hand.

Zero glared at Kenrick. "You worthless Hunter!" he yelled, wiping his cheek. He held his sword in front of him. "You dare defy me? I will run you down!" He ran toward Kenrick and swung with all his might. For several minutes, Zero and Kenrick were locked in a duel, neither one landing any blows. Kenrick saw an opening and took it, but misjudged and slipped in the snow. Zero watched him go down and raised his sword to finish Kenrick off.

"Kenrick!" Shmoo cried as she pushed Zero out of the way. Zero tumbled but was not hurt otherwise. Shmoo checked to make sure Kenrick was all right then helped him to his feet. They stood side-by-side, matching glares at their common enemy. Zero stood as well and clucked his tongue. "How sweet. The two turtle doves are going to save Christmas it seems," Zero concentrated his gaze on Shmoo. "But, they should realize those who fight together die together!"
Faster than he had shone before, Zero Omega came at Shmoo. Before she could blink, her sword was taken from her and Zero's blade slid into her delicate side.

Pain raced from the wound all the way up and down Shmoo's body. She had never experienced anything like it in her whole life. She placed a pale hand over the tear, as if that would lessen her anguish. Shmoo knelt next to Kenrick and could do nothing but shiver. Zero Omega stood once again a few feet away from them, a look of triumph on his face.
"You know what demon blades do to mere humans, do you not, Hunter?" Kenrick glared up at Omega in pure hatred. "It sends a powerful poison through their whole system," Zero declared, without waiting for an answer. "She'll be dead in a few minutes." He circled the duo, like a predator.
Kenrick placed his hands over Shmoo's and began chanting strange words. In a few seconds, the pain lessened a little and the blood stopped.
"It's not much, but at least it gives you a small amount of time more to live." Kenrick tried to smile, but could not make his muscles work.

Zero stopped circling. He grabbed his sword once more. Kenrick could sense what he was doing and tensed. "Deimo!" Zero cried once more. Kenrick had to move slower for Shmoo's sake, but was still able to dodge Zero's attack. Unfortunately, with each attack, Kenrick got slower and slower. His stamina was catching up to him and Zero was getting to be a good aim. One near miss singed Shmoo's cut and she gasped in pain. Kenrick was sweating now and in bad shape. "Leave me," Shmoo whispered. "I'm useless anyway. If you can save Christmas, that's all that matters."
"Mind if I step in?" boomed a voice from above.

Suddenly, a giant red sleigh flew down from above. Obviously only one person known to man has a flying sleigh. Zero, Kenrick, and Shmoo all stared as Santa Claus got out. Eight reindeer stood at attention as he waddled over to where the battle was occurring. Santa gave a nod to Kenrick, "I was wondering what was taking you so long." Kenrick bowed low on one knee. "I'm terribly sorry, sir."
Shmoo gave him a puzzled look. "What? He is the most important man in all the world. And my boss."
"Your boss?!" Shmoo glanced in shock between Santa and Kenrick.
"Of course. Santa was the first Nuisance Hunter and started training more of us."
"I'm retired now, of course," bellowed the huge man. He noticed Zero, shaking in a mixture of hatred and fear. "Now, young Zero, what is all of this hullabaloo all about?"
Zero didn't answer and continued to glare at the magical legend.
"That's how I knew who and where you were," Kenrick whispered to Shmoo.
"So, Santa really does keep tabs on everyone..." she mused.

Zero must have gotten over being scared because he yelled, "All right, that's enough chit-chat!" He held his blade in a offensive position once again.
"Either you move, fat man, or else I'll flatten you!" Kenrick's face began to turn a color imitating that of a tomato. "How dare he--" but Santa Claus held up a hand, silencing him. "No, Kenrick, let me handle this," he stared Zero down. "I may be retired, but I can still handle the likes of you."
