The army captain laughed, actually smiling as the brother and sister duo passed. Walking into the tent reserved for him, he picked up his supply bag before walking out, carrying Claire out to the lake he'd mentioned. It was bigger than he had mentioned, and the moon sparkled on the surface, almost like a light show.

Claire's eyes widened at the lake, a wide smile on her lips. "Woah.... It's so pretty...." she whispered in amazement. She got off of Vince's shoulder and immediately trotted over to the water's edge while partially dragging her stuffed rabbit by the arm, watching the sparkling lake awestruck.

Vince smiled, sitting down on the shore while pulling out a few sandwhiches, watching his little sister.

Claire stood there for a bit, watching the sparkling waters before going back to her brother's side. She sat down next to him with Mr. Fluffy-Feet in her lap. She snatched one of the sandwiches and nommed on it with a bright smile like usual.

Vince slowly ate his own sandwhich, watching his sister before looking out at the lake.

Claire finished eating her sandwich and grabbed a second, but this time ate slower as she watched the moonlit waters of the lake.
Quietly, a figure hidden in the shadows of a tree was watching the two siblings at the lake's edge. The corners of her lips turned up in a small smile before finding her way over to them. "Am I interrupting a quiet, brother-sister moment?" Nina asked gently, brushing a hand through her rather long, golden-brown hair (which in the moonlight looked almost like it was sparkling silver).

Vince looked back over his shoulder, a surprised look on his face. "Nina? I didn't know you were deployed here." he said, running a hand through his black hair to keep it out of his face.

"I was on a short mission nearby. When I heard about the operation at the Wutai fort, I knew I'd find you somewhere..." Nina explained simply. She waved at Claire, who returned the wave with a bright smile. Nina smiled a bit wider and sat down behind Vince and Claire, making a sort of triangle. "Sandwich?" Claire offered, tilting her head. Nina only shook her head and ruffled Claire's hair. "It's alright, Claire. I'm not hungry."

Vince chuckled slightly before laying back in the grass, putting his hands under his head and closing his eyes. "Despite being in hostile territory...this actually feels really nice. The wind on my face, the grass under me....It feels so peaceful..."

Claire and Nina watched Vince for a moment before looking out at the lake water. "If only it was like this back in Shin-Ra..." Claire said with a sigh. Nina smiled and patted the young girl's shoulder. "It'll be alright. One day we'll find a nice place just like this where we can go to all the time."

Vince stayed quiet, listening to the sounds around them. He was still on guard, but he was having a bit of a hard time of not drifting off.

Claire and Nina talked quietly to one another, catching up with each other while Vince was quiet. When Claire yawned, Nina could only giggle a bit and poke Vince's head to make sure he was still awake. "Looks like you two need to get some sleep. Let's head back to camp."

"But Onii-chan..." Claire whined with a yawn. "I tired... and I still wanna say that I'm sorry for Zack 'cause of Angeal..." Nina stiffened slightly, glancing down for a moment before looking out at the lake again. She had heard about Genesis and Angeal, but she still hadn't been able to accept it, similar to Claire.
