Saebel knew about the retirement and the suspicions of it being a cover-up. Being unfamiliar with the students, he wasn't ready to believe them quite yet. If anything, he was rather confused over exactly what was going on. The somber tones and expressions of the students were beginning to cast doubts on his current knowledge, however.
At
Willow's inquiry of the further assistance Saebel could have provided, the boogeyman merely shrugged. "Many people can offer different things. Answers, assistance, affirmations... There's many things different people can do, however most don't go out of their way to offer them directly. Because you did not ask, I did not offer my assistance." There was to one student he did offer assistance to: Edel. But that was in exchange for information, making the pair of them even. Saebel didn't like having debts to pay, and he still owed Red.
The thought made him wince, made him look down to the ground to compose himself. At
Lizzy's question he looked up, nodding to her. "Yes, I gave her that bell to use." He glanced at the other students, clarifying quickly. "These bells take Fear and amplify it, enabling one to heal or harm another person. However, in order to amplify the Fear it must
take Fear from you. These bells are not for everyone to use. This is why I did not offer them." He allowed himself a rueful grin, "Think about it. If I announced what my bells could do there to a crowd of that size, how many of you would take a bell? How many would know that it amplified Fear, but missed hearing that it took away a bit of your own Fear? Yes, they can help. But in the wrong hands one of my bells can do far more harm."
Saebel shifted his attention once again to
Jericho, looking curious. "I know some regions in Halloween grow pumpkins in various shades of orange, but any color then that is usually not a pumpkin or painted... It's something I'll look into, though."
Petro had his attention next. Saebel inclined his head towards him. "Ask away, however I am unsure about whether or not I can answer."
He glanced over to the two boogeymen standing a little ways off, then again at the crowd around him.
As the frost demoness approached, Saebel nodded towards her. "Ah, I remember you." He said as he extended his hand towards
Edel, clasping her hand in a handshake.
When she pulled her hand away, the note was gone. There was no indication that he had taken it; it seemed to have simply disappeared. "It is good to see that you made it it out of there in one piece." Saebel replied, oblivious. "As for the bell... do not worry. I crafted them out of my Fear. When it was used up, it came back to me."
