GENERAL
Name: Airyn Aurore Marcel
Gender: Female
Birthday: April 4th
House: Hufflepuff
Blood Status: Mixed blood
Wand: A 71/2 inch wand made of oak with a unicorn hair center.
Wand Hand: left

PERSONALITY
General: Over all, Airyn comes off as a timid, yet fiery and slightly hyper individual. She's really timid on the outside, stumbling over her words a lot as well as talking with a small, slightly squeaky, almost whisper like voice. This isn't a girl that will stand up for herself easily and would rather want to solve things by doing as some one says or if she's feeling confident enough that day try to resolve things through negotiation. Airyn hates conflict and would rather go belly up than put up her dukes and stand up for what she believes in, she has studying to do after all.

As for confidence, Airyn has little to none, making her highly unconfident in her abilities as a wizard. This doesn't make her negative in a depressing way, but whenever she does succeed at something in class or otherwise she always says something like "I was just lucky" or " Im sure you'll do far better than me, you studied more!". There's always somewhere Airyn will find herself lacking. However, should Airyn get angry or is in danger, the timid, unconfident young girl disappears entirely, giving way to this sassy, fiery little creature that's been hiding inside all this time.

When Airyn gets like this she takes charge and mouths off to anyone that won't see reason or feels the need to anger her further she will just talk down to people and get bossy. She wont stumble over her words or appear to be the shy girl of before. Airyn will fight verbally, just not as long as people would think. Just because shes in this mode doesn't mean she'll openly seek conflict or throw her dukes up. She would still avoid conflict at all cost and try to solve it peacefully. It is also hard to get Airyn angry. When she gets angry, she feels sick and very, very, very regretful afterwards.

Despite her on/off personality, Airyn considers herself somewhat smarter that most of her peers. This isn't some god given talent of intelligence like miss Granger in the books but a talent gained through sheer will and loads of sleepless nights studying. She's been practicing this method since grade school and it has earned her a light ring of black around her eyes, resulting in something of a permanent eyeliner underneath her eyes. So they're slight bags, but not heavy bags like L from death note.

Airyn's greatest strength is her never ending patience and determination when it comes to things that most students would rather give up on or bulldoze through to get done. Airyn believes that patience and practice makes perfect. Rushing and cutting corners makes for very bad habits and leads her to believe most of Slytherin are major slackers. She wont voice this aloud though as that leads to conflict, which is what she strives to avoid. One of Airyn's greatest weaknesses is her need to appease those around her. She wants to get along with everybody and hates it when people find reasons to dislike her. This causes the poor girl to try and reason with the person so she can better understand why they don't like her so she can "fix" or get rid of that annoying trait. This also leads to many of her friends to take advantage of her by guilt tripping or pushing unwanted tasks and homework onto her. She'll gladly do these tasks and stay up till wee hours of the morning, making sure she gets it done right.

The poor dear.

Habits:
Nervous foot switching: When Airyn is nervous, she starts to mover her feet. When standing, she'll shift her weight from foot to foot or tip them this way and that.
Lip worrying: When Airyn gets scared or worried, she'll start to bite her lip frequently. The more scared or worried she is, the more she bites.
Stumbling over her words: Whether she's nervous or just plain talking, Airyn tends to stumble over her words, especially when asking some questions, talking in front of crowds, or speaking with her superiors.
Hobbies:
Reading: Airyn likes to read about any and everything from Darwin to Grimm's tales. She uses reading as a way to destress herself [what 11 year old has to destress herself?] or escaping whatever sort of sadness or depression that's been following her that day. She goes to the library a lot whenever she has free time.
Studying: Airyn likes to study in order to keep up in her studies and so she can help her friends if she needs to. While this seems boring to most, Airyn finds it fun.

Note:Airyn likes reading more than studying, but not by much. In fact, she does like to read textbooks for leisure, although not as much as she'd like to read things like blood and chocolate or Moby d**k. She also likes to study because she likes to learn. She feels if she keeps studying, she'll keep learning new things and her brain wont rot from not studying.

Bug collecting: There's something about bugs that fascinate Airyn to no end. Her room at home is filled with jars of fire flies, dragonflies, caterpillars and butterflies to name a few. Her favorite bug is the moth, its not as majestic as the butterfly, but it is very odd in a way that its still considered beautiful even without the pretty bright colors a butterfly has. Currently, Airyn aims to start another collection of non-lethal magical bugs to fill her dorm space at Hogwarts. If she can get permission from the Head Master.

The bugs that Airyn collects at home are alive. She couldn't bring herself to kill any living creature [she's tried trust me]Her mother reluctantly looks after them while she's gone and would prefer not to.She prefers any kind of bug. Its just the more cutesy types of bugs fascinate her the most. Its the colors that she likes viewing most of the time. Airyn likes bugs because they're just fascinating to her. She likes how they are different and diverse. There's also the fact that not a lot of females like bugs, and this hobby is also a reminder of the years she spent in America.

She misses it there. Airyn playing tricks? That's a good one. But no, she just uses the bugs for observation and keeps them around as "pets". Her favorite moth is the Io Moth She loves how the wings look like owl's eyes along with the fact that they're so huge. They're not native to America or Europe though she still wants to see one one day.

Airyn likes to watch and read about insects, which is why she likes keeping and collecting them. She lets them go eventually. She doesn't know why she thinks moths are sturdier than butterflies. [yet. as a play her, she'll come to realize that butterflies remind her of being fragile while moths, though they are just as fragile, appear sturdier.] As for the moth, she thinks its quite pretty and has never seen it before. She wants to catch it and study it more.

Airyn also likes magical bugs more than non magical ones. Her collection will be alive as usual and she may plan on using them for things should the need arise. YES! Airyn does have a list of bugs she wants to catch! It will be on her treasure chest drawer in the dorms. Shes not against buying bugs as pets. If that's what a person wants to do, then that's their cup of tea. She just prefers to capture bugs. It provides a challenge for her. If Airyn could keep her bugs in her dorm room, she would be okay with it, but as for others like her dorm mate, she couldn't say. If she had to get rid of the bugs in her room due to complaints, she would. She would get rid of the bugs or place them elsewhere to keep everyone happy.

FAMILY
Mother: Aurelie Aurore Marcel [age 34] [Ethnicity: French] [Moved to London when Airyn was 5 years old]
Blood status: Muggle born. Her great grandmother [four times removed] was a half blood who married a muggle born. She belonged to the house of Ravenclaw and her name was Delphine Aurore Decoux.
Father: Cleophas Eloi Marcel [36] [Ethnicity: French] [Moved to London 6 years ago due to a job offer he couldn't refuse]
Blood status: Half blood. Cleophas's Father, Remi Laurent Marcel was a pure blood that married a muggle. His parents were quite accepting of the marriage and even tried to keep in touch as much as possible. Most of Rem's family lives in Europe with only a few in America. He comes from the house of Hufflepuff and still wears his colors proudly. Cleophas came from Gryffindor much to the surprise of his parents.
A bit of history?: Aurelie met Cleophas one year at Mardi Gras. It wasn't love at first sight by any means, and they didnt see eye to eye often. However, they decided to go out on three dates to decide if they would be able to get bypass their differences. It worked and Cleophas started dating Aurelie for about two years before he got down on one knee on a bus and asked her to marry him. It was after Aurelie said yes that Cleophas decided to reveal his wizarding roots to her to see if she would handle it well.

She was skeptical at fist, laughing it off and saying "You don't need to make up some fabulous story just to keep me Cleo. I'm in this for the long haul" It took Cleo and Remi practicing magic in a secluded area to convince her and she's been fascinated ever since. Airyn was born a year after they got married and Remi told Cleo and Aurelie that their child could be eligible for Hogwarts, which kinda scared Aurelie.
Siblings: None yet but Aurelie is currently two months pregnant with her second child. Airyn is really excited about becoming a big sister!
Extended Family:
Remi Laurent Marcel -Airyn's grand father whom she misses very much. She will talking to him over the phone as often as she can to tell him about her adventures at school or even to tell him how big her mother is getting.
Jenelle Marlyne Marcel- Airyn's grand mother and Remi's deceased wife that he misses dearly. She was a kind woman, but also full of spunk and spark that just couldn't be missed. She died Before Airyn was born, but Remi will tell her stories about her as often as she'd like to hear. Remi usually sounds sad when telling these stories though.
Aurelie does not talk about her parents for reasons unknown. It might have something to do with her marrying Cleophant without their blessing. Airyn also has four aunts [three of them are Aurelie's sisters and one is Cleophant's baby sister] and two uncles [Cleophant's two older brother's that are twins] and a hole bunch of cousin's in between.
Relationship with Family: Airyn treasures her family like no other. She would do anything for her parents and grandfather. She is also excited about having a little brother or sister to play with and coddle! She rubs her mother's stomach every time she comes home for good luck or just to say hello.

HISTORY
General History: Airyn was born in America and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana until she was five years old. Her parents then decided to move to London due to a job offer at a software company that Cleophant would be crazy to refuse. During her time in the south, Airyn had no problems fitting in or even making friends. She had something of a spitfire personality and didn't take anyone's mess. Her best friend Lenah was her neighbor and the cheese to her cracker so to speak. They were friends since preschool and have since then grown apart now that Airyn lives in London. That's not to say that they don't miss each other, and they Skype whenever Airyn goes home, but all the stuff she'd like to tell Lenah about "school" cannot be said, so they run out of things to talk about eventually.

Because Airyn was raised in the south, when she speaks, some of her words have a certain southern drawl to it that lets kids know she's not originally from Europe, and it lead to a lot of teasing and name calling in her early years. Some of Airyn's fondest memories are from her days in America, where she would enjoy life in the sun, catch bugs with Lenah and listen to her grandfather's stories about magic and things that didn't "exist" in their world. Aurelie decided that she didn't want Airyn to know that Remi's stories were real and that certain creatures do exist.

Airyn didn't care and spent most of her time imagining what these creatures and magical people would look like. Did they have pointy ears like elves? Or were they like hobbits? Parading around barefoot with feet the size of some one's head? Life in London was hard for Airyn, and it caused her to go from the outgoing spitfire she used to be into the shy timid girl of today. She learned that trying to please people is far easier than trying to stand up fr what you believe in, making people see her as more of a follower than a leader, which isn't the case.

On Airyn's 11th birthday, something slipped through the mail slot in the door. Airyn thought that it was weird how mail came through, but there was no delivery man's shadow or even footsteps outside! Airyn picked up the letter and quickly ran to her mother with the envelope, handing it to her. Cleophant reconized the letter and quickly took it, opeing it with a giant smile, reading the contents to the both of them aloud.

After hearing what the letter was about, Aurelie decided she was not happy in the slightest and even kept Airyn behind her, stating that this had to be a mistake! Her child couldn't possibly be a witch! She was only a regular eleven year old girl that still played in the mud and collected bugs for pete's sake! Cleophant however, shook his head and let Aurelie know that this letter was in fact, telling them that Airyn was being accepted into Hogwarts and that she didnt have to go if that is what she desired. Taking note of his wife's glare. Cleophant then excused himself to go talk to his talk to her, knowing she was clearly letting her pregnancy hormones do the talking.

It took little over an hour, with Airyn looking over the letter before both parents came back with their decision. Airyn would start Hogwarts as soon as possible. Airyn did not like the thought of leaving her parents to venture into the unknown, but Aurelie assured her daughter that they would write and send her tons of sour worms whenever they could. This only satisfied Airyn up until she was standing on platform 9 3/4 boarding the train to Hogwarts. She looked back and ran into her father, trying to get him to at least let her stay one more night, but Cleophant just smiled and lead his teary daughter back to the train with a kiss to the forehead and a huge package of assorted candies, mostly sour worms, telling her that she'll be amazed and too busy to miss home. "The sooner you go on belle, the faster you can come home oui?"

With a pout and a slight drag to her step, Airyn boarded the train and stared at her parents, waving goodbye till she couldn't see them anymore. The rest of the trip was spent looking out of the window until the train came to a stop. As soon as Airyn stepped off of the train, her fears started to disappear, leaving behind wonder and amazement.

Perhaps being here wouldn't be so bad after all.

MISCELLANEOUS
The Sorting: The sorting hat was something of an odd experience for Airyn. First of all, she almost tripped walking down what seemed like a never ending path of students just to sit on a chair that she could barely climb over, being a person with a height disadvantage. When she finally did make it into the chair, she almost sneezed when the old musky hat was placed on her head due to some dust getting in her nose.

The hat did pick up on the houses that her ancestors and grand father was sorted into and decided to go with Hufflepuff based on her endless patience. Although the sassiness and smarts made the hat tell her she would do well in Ravenclaw. If only she had more confidence in herself. Once the hat shouted Hufflepuff, Airyn nearly jumped out of her seat with a small squeak before making her way to the Hufflepuff table where she was welcomed warmly by some of her peers.

Boggart: Airyn has a healthy fear of the huge, intimidating, slithering, scaly basilisk. While she hasn't seen one in real life, Airyn has read up on the creatures from home and combined knowledge with her grandfather's tales of the "fictional" snake and just ran wild with it. The Harry Potter books didn't make this fear any better, the thought of looking that huge snake in the eyes and dying instantly made her want to hide under her bed.

Mirror of Erised: The mirror of Erised would show Airyn her grandmother, Jenelle alive and happy with her as a smaller child. This is because she's always wanted to meet the woman that gave Remi some of the happiest years of his life. Airyn also wants to see papa Remi happy again. She wants to see the light in his bright green eyes shine once more and she feels that having Jenelle would do this for him and more. She would also get to tell her grandmother about her new baby brother or sister and all of the wonderful things they were going to do together once the baby was able to.

EXTRA CREDIT

Patronus: Airyn's patronus would take the form of a huge Pink-striped oakworm moth. She's seen these huge moths before and always thought that if one could be blown up to Godzilla size, it would definitely look like a prettier Mothra. She's always felt that moths were studier, more durable than butterflies even though their wings are still fragile. To Airyn, these moths are kind of intimidating, especially the female, which is bigger than the male.

Greatest Treasure: Airyn's greatest treasure is her imagination.Without it, she couldn't see herself functioning or reading as her imagination helps her envision some of the many scenes that are written in books. Her imagination also helps her come up with some creative ideas for projects and stories behind the bugs she collects. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, but an imagination is more devastating to loose.

Manner of Dress: Airyn likes to dress neatly and tries to keep as clean of an appearance as possible. She'd not OCD, but she likes to make sure she's presentable in front of her peers and teachers.

Favorite Class: Charms class, only because Airyn likes the idea of charming a bug to like you or learning about charms that one should stay away from.

Worst Class: Defense against the dark arts, because seriously, Airyn's not a fighter and she doesn't like conflict of any kind remember?

Approved by The Feeling Is Gone
GENERAL
Name: Rory Scott
Gender: Male
Birthday: March 6
House: Slytherin
Blood Status: Pureblood
Wand: Dogwood, 12 inches with a dragon core
Wand Hand: Right

PERSONALITY
General:

Rory comes from a pureblood wizard family and thus has been raised to look down on muggles and half-bloods. He thinks highly of himself and regards himself better than others because of his blood status. His loyalty is to his house and his house alone. He looks up to the character of Draco in the books though he also thinks the boy was a pansy.

His two worst traits are his strong temper; when he’s angered he will typically be the first one to throw a punch at someone's face. He will not back down as long as he believes he is right. His worst weapon his is tongue, spouting sarcasm and harsh words at whoever gets on his bad side (or a Gryffindor). His tongue is also what he relies on to attempt to keep him out of trouble. He is a manipulator of words and uses it to attempt to get his way. It typically works on some of his peers but not so much on the instructors. Getting in his way is one sure fire way of getting him angry and causing him to shove the other person out of the way. Another is to attempt to claim he shouldn’t be there or doubting his skills with magic. Though magic doesn’t come easy for him (especially proper wording of the spells), he works hard to cover up his fault and master his studies the best that he can.

Anyone he somehow manages to make friends with (mostly Ravenclaws) needs to watch out for he can change his mind on them at any time. However those in his house (or other purebloods) hardly ever encounter Rory’s wrath. To those students, he is loyal and will stand up to whoever tries to mess with them in any way.

Those in Rory’s house are the only ones that see his patience and kindness. When another student needs help working on a new spell or new potion, he will take the time out to help them understand and be able to execute it properly once he has worked it out for himself. Whether he does it because it means his house gets points or out of the goodness of his heart is a whole other matter. His kindness to the other students could also be seen as a way to gain strength for himself as he works with his classmates.

Habits:

Scratching his neck: If something makes him nervous, this is his tell. He will automatically reach for the skin on the back of his neck and sometimes ends up scratching it raw.

Tapping his fingers: If he gets anxious or bored in class he will start tapping his fingers in random rhythms against his desk, book, or whatever is in front of him.

Hobbies:

Reading: Unless someone is close to him or in the same common room, no one would know how much Rory loves to read. He will devour his textbooks and any work of fiction he can find. His favorite genres are science fiction and fantasy. So far his favorite work is Lord of the Rings.

Exercise: When he has free time, he makes sure he gets outside and goes for a run. Sometimes he'll be gone most of the day and gets back just before dark, covered in sweat. It helps to calm his temper as well as stay fit.

Likes: Pumpkin juice, chocolate, purebloods, Quidditch, pranks, strawberries, books
Dislikes: Muggles, half-bloods, cabbage, computers

FAMILY
Mother: Annabeth Scott [Gryffindor] [pureblood] born and raised in London, she met her ex-husband during her time at Hogwarts. No one would get her to listen when they told her her husband was trouble. They ended up divorcing a year before Rory got his Hogwarts letter.

Step-mother: Rebecca Scott [Slytherin] [pureblood]. She was a year younger than Jacob when they were in school but managed to befriend him. She married Jacob six months after his divorce from Anna.

Father: Jacob Scott [Slytherin] [pureblood] came to Hogwarts from South Wales, moved to London after his time at Hogwarts where he met his ex-wife. After a messy divorce, he managed to get full custody of his only son. To this day Annabeth's family is convinced he paid off the judges of the case.

Siblings: None yet but Rebecca is pregnant with her and Jacob's first child together, another son for Jacob. Rory's not too sure how he feels about having a baby brother. He's convinced that his dad will favor the baby over him.

Extended Family: Grandfather Acanthus Scott [Slytherin] [pureblood] came to Hogwarts as a boy where he met his wife who was also a Slytherin. Rory's attitude towards half-bloods, Gryffindors, and muggles comes from everything he's heard come out of his grandfather's mouth about them. After all, if Grandpa hates them, something must be wrong with them.

Relationship with Family: Since the divorce and the brutal custody battle, Rory has barely heard from his mother. The last time he had heard from her had been when he received his Hogwarts letter. Rory is very close to his father, who he looks up to, as well as his paternal grandfather. He hates that his step-mother tries to steal his father's attention away from him in anyway possible. Mail comes regularly from both of the men to find out how Rory is doing in his studies and how his house is doing in the ranking.

HISTORY
General History: Rory was born to pureblood parents in their London home. When he was born his father allowed his grandfather to choose what he would be named. His grandfather came up with the name Roranicus and, despite his mother's protests, that is what he was named. As he grew his mother gave him the nickname Rory which he has gone by ever since. The only time he ever heard his full name was when he would get into trouble which started to come more and more frequently once he hit his ‘terrible twos’.

Two years ago his parents’ marriage started to fall apart, leaving Rory caught in the middle of the disaster. A year after the verbal fights started they filed for divorce which led to an ugly custody between his mother and father. His mother fought hard to keep him but somehow the judge ruled in favor of Rory’s father, citing that Jacob had the strong role in his child’s upbringing. Rory was then forced to move with his father to a house out in the country side that his father had built for them.

Three months after his parents’ divorce was final, Rory’s father moved his new girlfriend into the house with them and married her another few months later. As his father’s attention went to his new wife, Rory started to act out. There were reports of eggings to their muggle neighbors’ houses, toilet paper covering their trees, and muggle forms of transportation being covering is various items such as silly string, glitter, and soap.

When his father heard the reports, he investigated his son’s bedroom to find many of the items there. He confronted Rory about it and started to set time aside for the two of them to have father-son time away from Rebecca. For the next few months the reports about various pranks stopped coming. On the day Rory got his Hogwarts letter he got the very first letter from his mother in a year congratulating him and wishing him the best at the school. That night Rory, Jacob, and Rebecca went out to dinner to celebrate the boy’s birthday and acceptance into the school. During what should have been a night of celebration in Rory’s honor, the celebration changed when Rebecca told the two that she was pregnant with Jacob’s child.

Once again Jacob’s attention shifted away from his eldest child to his wife. For the next few weeks Rory ignored his father for the first time in his life. It wasn’t until the day Rory left for Hogwarts that Jacob turned his attention back to Rory and passed down his wand that he had during his time at Hogwarts.

MISCELLANEOUS
The Sorting:

The sorting was a strange experience for Rory. He remembered vaguely that his mother had been a Gryffindor but his father and grandfather had both been proud to be Slytherins. The only house he was sure he wouldn’t be placed in was Ravenclaw. He didn’t want to know how his father would react if he made it into Hufflepuff. If he paid attention to the letter he’d send after this was over; if Rebecca hadn’t gotten her claws in him again. Anyway he would have a lot to live up to; big footprints to fill in his time here.

When his name got called, he walked up to the Sorting Hat with his head held high. Despite his nerves for what he would be placed, the second the hat was placed on his head, he heard the loud voice shout “SLYTHERIN!” He smirked as he walked away and headed to the table that belonged to his new house.

Boggart: Rory's boggart would be his step-mother. He is scared to death that her baby and her will take his place in his father's life; that because of her he will go from being his father's first priority to being his last.

Mirror of Erised: Despite his nature, when Rory looks into the Mirror of Erised, he sees his family together again without his step-mother. His mom stands on one side while his father is next to him, smirking proudly.

EXTRA CREDIT
Patronus: Rory's patronus is a fish coming from his memory of going fishing with his father before Jacob remarried.

Greatest Treasure: His greatest treasure is the wand his father gave him the day he left for school.

Manner of Dress: When he's not in his school uniform, he's in jeans and a t-shirt. When it's cold, he wears a sweatshirt.

Favorite Class: Mythical Creatures. Not that he will let anyone know, but he loves working with the creatures and learning how to care for them. He also loves the stories that are attached to each beast.

Worst Class: Potions. Not only does he struggle to remember the proper enunciation for words for spells, he also struggles to remember the proper ingredients for potions. He works hard to overcome the issue but potions will never be the class he prefers.

GENERAL
Name: Endellion Eliza Verdale
Gender: Female
Birthday: October 30 (All Hallow's Eve)
House: Ravenclaw
Blood Status: Half Blood
Wand: Ebony; phoenix feather core; long, 11 inches
Wand Hand:
Right

PERSONALITY
General: Endellion is strongly swayed by her emotions and tends to get into fights because of this. She is passionate in everything she does, but rather antisocial and has trouble making friends. She also has a strong imagination and is very bright, but she rarely puts in the effort needed to keep up with her schoolwork and gets in trouble because of it. She has always loved magic, so she's constantly researching new spells to try out. Endellion learned how to fight because of her big mouth, but she worked at it and is working to perfect the art of street fighting. Her strength is her determination; when she sets her mind on something, nothing can stop her until she completes her goal. However, this is also her greatest weakness, as she loses her common sense and keeps pushing herself to the point of bodily harm even when she's already lost
Habits: She cracks her knuckles constantly and has a tendency to drift off when she's in the middle of a conversation.
Hobbies: Endellion loves to read and draw, and is a talented artist.
Likes: Reading fantasy, drawing, and basically trying to see how far she can push the limits on pretty much everything (like the school dress code)
Dislikes:
Bugs, weak and cowardly people, people who won't leave her alone, and the color pink. God she hates pink.

FAMILY
Mother: Thessa Verdale (Muggle)
Father: Attacus Verdale (Mixed Blood, was in Gryffindor)
Siblings: Her older sister, Katherine (Half Blood, currently in Ravenclaw)
Extended Family: (why do you even want to know all this?)
Relationship with Family:
She generally avoids her family (well, she is a teenager), but she gets along well most of the time. Her mother is a muggle nurse who tends to be a bit overbearing. Her sister is her polar opposite, but Katherine and Endellion still love each other. Her father is a lawyer that does cases at the Ministry of Magic, and her best friend. She can tell him anything, and he'll always be open to her.

HISTORY
General History: Endellion grew up in an average half blood setting in Birmingham. She knew she was a witch from a young age, because every time she got angry, something would spontaneously combust. Due to this and her "fiery" personality, Endellion's family and friends believe she'll be great at elemental magic when she's older. She has always been very bright, but just as lazy. She has no work ethic, and her grades suffer for it. Also, due to her personality and punk look, she comes off as just another street punk, so most people are surprised when they find out how smart she really is. She has nearly been expelled twice from her past schools, so she is hoping to get a fresh start at Hogwarts.

MISCELLANEOUS
The Sorting: Endellion looked around curiously, feigning an air of disinterest to mask the faint fluttering in her stomach. Katherine had already told her about the sorting, but it was still a bit much to take in. Slowly, the list was read down to "V" why did her last name have to start with a V?! Finally, Endellion heard her name.
"Verdale, Endellion!" the woman called. Endellion, still feigning calm, walked up to the stool and sat. The hat slipped over her head, falling to her nose. She heard a voice in her head.
"Hmmm...tricky. A brilliant mind, but plenty of spunk as well...fighting spirit, and academic prowess. I suppose I'll have to go with...RAVENCLAW!!!" She heard the last word announced to all, almost deafening her. Someone grabbed the hat off her head and she was pushed lightly down the steps toward the Ravenclaw table. People were cheering or clapping politely as she seated herself near the end of the table while the next person was called. "Oh good, Kath can help me out if I need it..." she thought, breathing a sigh of relief.

Boggart: Endellion would see a swarm of large wasps.

Mirror of Erised: Endellion would see a perfect version of herself, surrounded by friends and laughing. In truth, Endellion is her own worst critic and berates herself for her every flaw, especially her fear of interacting with other people.

Patronus: Endellion's patronus would be a Red Tail Hawk

Greatest Treasure: The Onyx and silver ring her father gave her. She never takes it off.

Manner of Dress: Punk, with mostly black and ripped jeans. She also has a plethora of sarcastic or ironic pins that she wears regularly. Her hair is dyed bright red.

Notes:
You can't move the common room beds, so it wouldn't be in a corner though it can be far from the door.
The animals (esp cats) disliking his presence is a bit "obvious", but it happens to some people I suppose.
Not sure about the whole sorting. Hufflepuffs aren't "fools" either, which is what it sounds like you have the Hat saying. :P

GENERAL
Name:Edwin Turin
Gender:Male
Birthday:February 15
House:Hufflepuff
Blood Status:Mixed Blood
Wand:Cedar, Unicorn Tail Hair, 11 3/4 inches, unyielding

Whenever I meet one who carries a cedar wand, I find strength of character and unusual loyalty. My father, Gervaise Ollivander, used always to say, ‘you will never fool the cedar carrier,’ and I agree: the cedar wand finds its perfect home where there is perspicacity and perception. I would go further than my father, however, in saying that I have never yet met the owner of a cedar wand whom I would care to cross, especially if harm is done to those of whom they are fond. The witch or wizard who is well-matched with cedar carries the potential to be a frightening adversary, which often comes as a shock to those who have thoughtlessly challenged them.
Wand Hand:Right

PERSONALITY
General:
Edwin is shy, to the point of annoyance amongst the people around him. Even most professors can't get more than a stuttered whisper of a response to a question asked in class. His bed in the dormitories is the one furthest from the door, pushed against a corner. No posters or decorations hang around his personal space, though it is kept neat.

Most of his fellows gave up on trying to befriend him within the first few weeks of term, and though the hufflepuffs are at the least, polite with him, his shy and insecure behavior has begun to garner some teasing from some of the other houses, which he has yet to show any retaliation to.

Even though the professors may be frustrated with his lack of participation in class, he is obviously studious, and achieves high marks.

The most information that any student has gotten from him is that he is from Aberdeen, Scotland.

Beyond his shy nature, he is attentive, and quite intelligent. Anyone able to keep him from running away, and actually engage him in a conversation would find that he is a well mannered and friendly person.

Habits: Most of Edwin's habits involve him trying to be noticed as little as possible, but the boy with the bunk closest to him catches him reading late at night sometimes.

Hobbies: Edwin has a keen interest in Astronomy and healing magic. He is sometimes seen in the healing ward, running errands for the staff there.

Likes:Although he has no real interest in sports, he enjoys the outdoors, and has a favorite bench where he usually does his homework on nice days.
Even though he was raised in a home in a small wizarding community, he absolutely loves reading muggle mystery novels, of all types.

Dislikes:
Animals. Or they seem to dislike him, at least. Cats especially seem to hate his presence.
He also dislikes people who discriminate based on blood status.

FAMILY

Mother:Angela Reiss-Turin
Shopkeeper.
Angela is a muggle, though her older brother, Jason, is a muggle-born Hogwarts Graduate. She met Matthew through her brother. Angela was 7 when her brother first went off to school, and was of course, crushed when she did not receive a letter of her own. But she remained close with him, and was eventually introduced to Matthew.
She is accepted by the mostly wizarding neighborhood near Aberdeen, and is often sought out by neighbors when it comes to Muggle related issues and questions, including teaching a few of the more curious how to drive a car.

Father:Matthew Reiss
Unknown.
The whereabouts of Matthew is a juicy subject of gossip, though no one would dare disrespect dear Angela, or her brother, who moved in when Matthew up and vanished when Edwin was eight. Prior to his disappearance, he was a fairly successful minor league Quidditch player- a Chaser.
He is from a pure blood wizarding family, and was a Slytherin in school.

Siblings: Edwin is an only child

Extended Family:
Jason Turin; Muggle/Wizarding relations
Jason is Edwin's uncle, and the only extended family he really knows well. He met Edwin's father through Quidditch. Matthew was the 6th year Slytherin chaser who knocked the then tiny 3rd year Jason- a Beater for Ravenclaw, off his broom, to fall nearly twenty feet to the field below.
Matthew, showing some uncommonly good sportsmanship, actually dropped the Quaffle when he realized Jason had fallen, and immediately rushed down to help- and was there to apologize profusely when Jason woke up in the hospital wing two days later.
Despite the extreme differences in background and age, the two became very close friends, and Jason is now a sort of step in father figure for Edwin in his fathers absence.
Rumor has it that Angela and Jason both know of Matthew's whereabouts, but no one dares ask.

Relationship with Family:

Edwin seems almost protective of his mother, and writes home to her often. He is pleasant, but not overly close with his uncle, and any mention of his father generally results in him going entirely silent, with a neutral, emotionless expression on his face.

HISTORY
General History:

Edwin was born and raised in the suburbs of Aberdeen, in what would be considered, a middle class household. Though he was around magic his entire life, he went to a muggle elementary school until he was accepted into Hogwarts.
Even prior to his fathers disappearance, he was always a bit on the shy side, but still friendly and had friends his age, both from muggle and wizarding families.
When his father left, he became withdrawn and silent, and accepted his uncle moving in with no real response.
He stopped playing with his friends, and retreated straight to his room after school. Edwin still maintained his top grades, but beyond that, no longer spoke up in class, or participated in group projects. He rarely spoke to anyone at all.
He refused to use his father's surname, which was a known wizarding family when he got to Hogwarts, instead insisting on using his mother's maiden name of Turin, which, aside from appearing on a few Quidditch trophies, was unknown, and most assumed him to be a muggle born, especially when he didn't confirm his blood status in any way.

MISCELLANEOUS
The Sorting:
He waited patiently, being near the end of the line for the sorting. In front of him and behind him, others fidgeted and looked around at the tables nervously. When his name was called, he walked up, and sat in the chair, in his mind assuming that he would likely be placed in Ravenclaw.
Instead, the hat made a long "hmmmmmmmmm" in his head, and it seemed to take its time, before it whispered so that only he heard; "A bright one you are, but only fools know their true selves as little as you."
Edwin frowned, offended by the hat's blunt remark, as it called out 'Hufflepuff!" in its deep voice.

Boggart: Edwin's boggart would take the form of a large vicious black dog.

Mirror of Erised:
He would see himself laying in a field of grass with a group of close friends, staring up at a brightly lit night sky.

Accepted by The Feeling Is Gone
Notes: Perhaps when you're making her journal, you should emphasize the Gryffindor traits... such as bravery. Being disappointed about being placed in Gryffindor doesn't really seem like a Gryffindor-ly trait--though disappointment could be expected, I would also think that she would be ready to brave Hogwarts regardless of not being in Ravenclaw or not... X D Or at least, is able to look towards a bright side or trust the Sorting Hat a bit. I'm not trying to turn your character into an optimist though, but it is something to think about. : 3

Name: Naomi Rushton
Gender: Female
Birthday: April 12
House: Gryffindor
Blood Status: Half Blood
Wand: Alder with Unicorn Core, 10 3/4 inches. Swishy (Not to be confused with Elder wood)
Wand Hand: Right

PERSONALITY
General:Naomi is a highly inquisitive girl with a keen eye for detail. To her own house Naomi is open and friendly and most would consider her warm and caring. To outsiders, Naomi may appear to have little to no emotions at all. She is skilled at keeping her emotions and thoughts buried deep within herself. Thought that isn't to say she wouldn't make friends with just about anyone. Naomi tends to enjoy spending most of her day exploring the school and books in the library. Though she hears gossip and rumors Naomi rarely takes anything on faith believing she must see the results with her own eyes before a conclusion can be drawn. She is never brash nor thoughtless and will more often think something through before rushing into trouble.

Naomi is not always steady, though she is skilled at moving through crowds with a book or two in her hands. When exited or her concentration is quickly drawn in another direction, this young girl has been known to drop a thing or two through her fingers often leading to her being considered clutzy. Her attention can be diverted rarely if there is something more pertinent to her situation than what she was currently focused on. She favors collecting small flowers and fungi that grow around Hogwarts and has been known to store them around her bedpost. She is also a highly independent girl and though she follows rules she will think of the consequences first.

Naomi is also a very prideful girl, her house must not be able to see her waver in strength or skill and she is always competing to prove her worth. Never the first to end any relationship, she is generally the first to bond them. Through that the young woman is highly protective of her friends and knows her place in the world though she often tests it. Despite her love of the trees and the feel of the wind through her hair, Naomi cannot resist the urge to submerse herself in the water. Swimming is her favorite pastime next to observing the land around her from the thrill of brooms.
Habits: She tends to get distracted by people in front of her and people out the windows. Often takes on a dazed look like shes somewhere else. She has little to no color sense when it comes to fashion.
Hobbies: Reading, watching Quidditch, flying on her broom, collecting bugs
Likes: Butterflies and bugs, apple cider, chocolate.
Dislikes:pickles, centipedes, being to hot, and people who act stupidly.

FAMILY
Mother: Jean - Muggle - Marrying made her crazy after she found out he was magical. Hasn't quite taken to the wizarding world as nicely as others, in some ways she feels shes trapped in her own horror show. In others she's trying to embrace the world as best as she can. Prefers to continue her Muggle existence. Even more shocked and a mix of pride and horror when she found out a couple of her children were also magical.
Father: Edward - Mixed blood - He fell in love with Jean the moment he met her, didn't reveal he was a wizard until their first child started releasing accidental magic. He stays with her in the muggle world to keep her happy, and is very patient with everything she does. Works hard to support the family. Having thought some of his children would be magical half of his earning every three paychecks went to gringots while the rest was converted into muggle money. He works in Gringots.
Siblings:
Andrew - Magical - He is 3 years older than Naomi and paved the way for the rest of the family in case they too were magical. He is very protective of his younger sister and loves to tease her.
David - non magical - A younger brother by only a year he and Naomi used to get along until she started to perform accidental magic and they grew apart
Shea - Non Magical - Mothers spoiled and favorite child she is by far the most evil in Naomi's eyes. Everything that went wrong or could go wrong was instantly pushed off to blame Naomi. She often went out of her way to perform things just to get her older sister in trouble
Layne - None Magical - Every bit like Naomi only without the magic and trouble. He is growing up into the kind of boy who will take his younger brothers girl friends. Letting his brother bait while he catches.
Brandon - The baby of the family and rightfully treated as such, his popularity isn't just with his family but every girl he meets. Since he was two he has been able to catch the eye of any girl. Easy to look at and very sweet hes a ladies man.
Extended Family:
Jean doesn't know her parents she grew up in the foster care system and took care of herself until she met Edward.
Edwards parents are respecting his wishes and hasn't visited the children yet, as they are waiting for Jean to accept the truth before they return to their lives.
Relationship with Family: Her father is most proud of her. her siblings and her have a hate love relationship as some are envious she has magic.

HISTORY
General History:
Her parent's met when Edward was on vacation in Japan to meet sister who had moved there once finishing in Hogwarts. She had become a school teacher and enjoyed her extracurricular work banishing Boggarts who liked to appear as ghosts. After a while they both moved to Newark, England where they started a family of their own the year they got married.

Naomi wasn't your typical girl, born into a loving family she was prized as an infant as finally having been a girl in the family. She made them even and was loved for it. They went on many vacations even to America to visit the redwood trees. There she had performed her first accidental magic at the age of two, walking beside the stroller she stopped to scoop up a banana slug and after asking what it was promptly turned it into a banana and ate it. Her mother was confused and angry at first, demanding she spit it out immediately and blamed Andrew for teasing his baby sister. Which he denied as magic couldn't be done while he was attending Hogwarts or he would be expelled. Naomi father confirmed the statement.

Enrolled in the local school at the age of five for kindergarten, having made a few friends Naomi was happy despite the birth of her sister. In first grade Naomi had collected worms along the street on a rainy day and presented them as a gift to her teacher. However the reaction she had received wasn't what she had hoped for. The teacher had been frightened senseless and left the class for the rest of the day. She had lost friends after her attempted gift to please her teacher.

The next year, Naomi did everything she could to find and rescue stray animals from birds to cats and even frogs. One year after Christmas she had 'rescued' a pine tree that had been used for Christmas that year. Digging a hole and trying to set the tree right, she was angry when she was told by her mother the tree was dead. From there magic was once again performed and a false image of the tree had been put in its place. Later her father replanted a pine tree without her knowing.

She enjoyed the games her brother provided when he was home during the summer and missed him dearly when he was gone at Hogwarts. With her father's permission, he had brought home various treats from the Wizarding world for her to try and games to play. Unlike her younger siblings Andrew and Naomi grew up with immense knowledge of the magical world so it wouldn't shock them when they started at Hogwarts.

Her father had gifted her with a toy broom the year she had lost all her friends in hopes of keeping a smile on her face. She loved her toy broom and often would spend hour upon hour running around the backyard on her broom in a circular motion.

The day the owl arrived for her was a day of both celebration and doom, her mother had been furious to find out yet another of her children were magical a thing she already had a hard time trying to grasp. Her father had warmly taken her and patiently watched as she followed him with growing excitement around Diagon ally with her older brother as she prepared for her first year at Hogwarts.

Much like he had done for her elder brother he promised to buy her the best broom once she was allowed to bring one to school, as well as an owl just for her. She had picked out a snowy owl and promptly named her Spook.

MISCELLANEOUS
The Sorting:
Standing in the line was one of the hardest things she had ever done. She had not yet made friends with any of the other students save for the one's who were older than her and her brothers friends Naomi was nervous with no one to speak to, she felt like everyone was staring at her and the students as they were called in turn to the hat. She had heard her brother recite the time he was sorted, a Ravenclaw. She was nervous, a few of the students she hadn't met on the train greeted her warmly and hoping she could make friends smiled shyly at them.

Eventually she managed to calm down when it came her turn to be called and walking slowly towards the hat, Naomi flinched when it was placed on her head. She had expected the feeling of something probing in her brain and yet there remained silence. Fear coursed through her as she wondered if she would be removed and sent home if the hat couldn't place her. What is she was unacceptable? As the thoughts raced through her, the hat finally blurted out her house. On the verge of tears Naomi scooted towards the Gryffindor table, a sad and longing look sent towards her brother.
Boggart: A Centipede

Mirror of Erised: Her mother's loving arms wrapped around her with a wand in her hand.

Patronus: Giant Panda

Greatest Treasure: The tree growing back in her muggle home and the broom her father gave her.

Manner of Dress: She loves skirts and on cold days will put on leggings to keep warm under the skirt. When that isn't enough Naomi will actually change to a pair of cargo pants with her Red and Black shirt. With her cloak over top. She does wear her standard uniform when in school.

Worst Class: Potions - Mixing things and memorizing amounts does not fit well into her mind. or habits.

GENERAL
Name: Damien Atwood
Gender: Male
Birthday: Janurary 11
House: Hufflepuff
Blood Status: Halfblood
Wand: 10 inch tiger wood with a griffon claw core
Wand Hand:Left

PERSONALITY
General: Damien was raised around a mixed group of children due to his parents’ choice of regular jobs in the muggle world. He even was originally in a regular muggle school, doing his lessons with muggle kids until the day his Hogwarts letter came. His experiences with muggles and muggle children have left him without any form of hatred towards half-bloods like him or muggle borns. Instead, if he sees one being picked on or bullied by a Slytherin, he will more than likely confront them. He was taught that they are no different and should not be treated as such.

This also makes him a compassionate listener to those that have been bullied by the other students that don’t share Damien’s outlook towards them. He will gladly sit down and let another student from his house share their story with him and will try to calm them down if they are distressed. Thanks to his father’s job as a doctor, he even knows a little first aid and will help patch up any cuts or scrapes that are left on them.

Sadly, it takes a lot for someone to break through Damien’s shell first before he will lend them his ear. Since Damien was an only child growing up, he never had anyone else like him to relate to; at his muggle school, he had never properly fitted in with the other kids so he never made too many during his time there. Though he feels slightly more comfortable at Hogwarts now after his first year, he is still trying to make friends and open up to other students. However, once someone does break past his shell, they have a friend and protector for as long as he is around them. He will never let a friend be hurt or taken advantage of on his watch. Since he has so few, he understands the value of friendship and will do his best to preserve those relationships.

Another downside to Damien is that he has a vicious temper. If he does encounter someone bullying another half-blood or a muggle born, the student is likely to walk away with a broken nose. If he feels like he or others are being taken advantage of, he will strike back. Just because he is a Hufflepuff, does not mean he will be used as a locator every time one of the other students can’t find their stuff, nor will he allow the others in his year. Although his mother taught him better, he has a hard time controlling himself when he encounters that type of behavior. In his last year at Hogwarts, however, he has learned that when he gets to that point he needs to go back to the common room and relax.
Habits: Damien is a nail biter. If he gets bored, he with almost automatically start chewing on his nails. He also starts tapping his foot to whatever rhythm is in his head at the time.
Hobbies: Damien loves to listen to music. Every time he comes back to Hogwarts, he always sneaks his small old cd player in one of his bags along with extra batteries so he doesn’t have to worry about it dying while he is there. Another hobby he picked up during his first year in at the school was going outside to work on tai chi. The steady, calmness of the art relaxes him, especially if he has had confrontations with other students during the day. He finds it an easy way to wind down before bed, so he will typically go outside about an hour before curfew begins. Also, oddly enough, another hobby he developed in his first year there is going to Quiddich matches. He loves watching the players compete against each other and wishes he could learn more about how to attend to those that get hurt during the games.
Likes: Rock music, Quiddich, quiet, his cat, popcorn
Dislikes: Bullies, anyone who thinks they’re better than everyone else, being taunted for being a Hufflepuff, peas

FAMILY
Mother: Rose Atwood is a muggle woman who met her husband during his time as a medical student after he left Hogwarts.
Father: David Atwood is a half-blood who attended Hogwarts in his younger days. Like his son, David had been a Hufflepuff.
Siblings: Damien is his parents’ only child.
Extended Family: Damien has one living set of grandparent’s on his mother’s side of the family, though they don’t talk to him or his family at all.
Relationship with Family:Damien is the only child of his parents so as much of the time they could was spent towards him. Since his time at Hogwarts began, they hardly ever see him how but they always make sure to send him mail nearly every day and they are always there at King’s Cross when it’s time for him to come home.

HISTORY
General History: Damien was the only child born to a normal human woman and her magical blooded husband. The pair had met while Damien’s father had been attending medical school after he had graduated from Hogwarts. They got married, despite her family’s protests, and ended up moving down to Wales to get some much needed distance between her angry parents and them. The feud between the two families is the reason Damien has only seen his living grandparents twice since he was born.
As Damien grew, his mother quit her job while his father worked long shifts at the local emergency room. She did her best to prepare him for regular school, which he would attend until he was eleven years old. She did her best to instill proper values in her son: to always say yes ma’ma, yes sir, to use please and thank you, and to not look down on anyone that was different from him.

Nothing she taught him, however, could prepare him for what he encountered during his time at the regular school. He was bullied and picked on for acting how he did when he first arrived; mostly by kids older than him. It wasn’t long before he got into his first fist fight. His parents did their best to help keep him out of trouble afterwards.

When the Hogwarts letter arrived, Damien didn’t know what to make of it; though he had been told of his father’s past and eventually why his grandparents had issues with their family, it never occurred to him that he would have the chance to attend his father’s old school. His first exposure to the magical world was when his father took him to pick up his supplies from his first year. They made a day of it; not only did he get his supplies but his father also took him down to Hogsmead for dinner where he got his first sampling of pumpkin juice and a very small sip of his father’s butterbeer.

His first year at Hogwarts went much the same as his time at his first school had; he had been bullied because he wasn’t a pure blood and was a Hufflepuff. It didn’t help that his nature kept him quiet so he mostly kept to himself most of the time. As a second year, he thinks he is prepared for whatever the other students try to throw his way. He’s had enough of being bullied; it’s time for him to make his stand and make his own mark at Hogwarts.

MISCELLANEOUS
The Sorting: The sorting was a strange experience for Damien. It was his second experience with the magical world, the first being the trip to Diagon Alley with his father to get his supplies. He didn’t know exactly what to make of the talking hat as his name was called for him to come up to have the hat placed on his head. When the Sorting Hat called out “Hufflepuff!” his eyes went straight to the table filled with what he assumed would be his new house mates as they welcomed him.

Boggart: His boggart with be his grandfather on his mother’s side. Despite being a child when it happened, he can remember the man shouting that he didn’t belong in his family.

Mirror of Erised: When Damien looks in the Mirror of Erised he sees himself standing next to his father with both of them in scrubs, running a medical center for humans and wizards alike.

EXTRA CREDIT

Patronus: His patronus is a rabbit because of the memories of his very first pet he owned as a young kid.

Greatest Treasure: His greatest treasure would be the small first aid kit his father gave him one day when it was ‘Take Your Child to Work Day’.

Manner of Dress: He tries to keep his uniform neat but it doesn’t always stay that way. Typically by the end of the day, his shirt as come untucked and he has loosened his tie. When he’s not in his uniform, he can be found wearing baggy pants and graphic t-shirts with his favorite bands on them.

Favorite Class: Herbology because he loves learning about the plants and having the knowledge of which ones will help in case of emergency. He also gets to learn what they look like so he can easily find them in the forest.

Worst Class: History of magic. Though he would like to learn more about the new world he’s found himself in, he can’t stand to sit through the lectures.

Name: Wickaninnish Thomas Clayoquot (Made a middle name when he found he didn't have one)
Gender: Male
Birthday: February 29th
House: Slytherin
Blood Status: Mixed-blood
Wand: Blackthorn, Dragon Heartstring, 9 3/4 inch
Wand Hand: Right

PERSONALITY
General: Wicka is cunning and tends to be very crafty. He is slytherin in almost every sense of the word. He feels he is better than everyone else. Mudbloods... well some magic is better than none... and Pure bloods... Well they are all just inbred idiots right... He is always pushing buttons to lure others into fights. While he was in basic school he was bounced from school to school for the number of fights he got into. He only lost one... Or he only admits to losing one fight. The fight he claims he lost was when it was two against one and he came home with a black eye and a busted lip. When his mother found out, she went to his grandfather and his grandfather paid the school more money than any of those muggles had ever seen and those boys were expelled and relocated.
Wicka comes from a powerful family. On his father’s side he has roots in the American Magical Authorities and on his mother’s side his grandfather earned his money in oil sales… well, he pilfered money but the company he retired from never saw what he did. Wicka loves his grandfather more than anyone else, himself excluded of course.
Wicka has never know what it is to want something. Everything he ever dreamed of having was given to him. His first pony was a 17.2 h Friesian stallion out of the best blood lines. 125,000 euro’s later and 600 miles later the stallion was saddled and a 4 year old boy was placed upon his back. Ever since, Wicka has loved horses. The hardest part for him being at school will be the lack of horses and trails to ride. He called his horse Chompy.
Wicka’s love for horses grew with him and his skills bloomed. He has many championship awards in dressage. He actually has more 1st place ribbons than any other 8-12 year old division rider in the UK. That could be simply because his grandfather takes him to a show almost every weekend.
When he got his letter he smirked and left it sitting on the dining room table. His mother found it on one of her rare cleaning sprees. It was three days later when she confronted him about it. She seemed happy she was a Ravenclaw in school and thus was very proud that he had been accepted. He just gave her a flat look and shrugged before turning to brushing down Chompy. She simply frowned and walked away.
Habits: He tends to seek out animal companionship when he is feeling sad or alone. However when angry he will go to start a fight with another boy his size or larger. While he will talk down to smaller boys and maybe shove them he never lets his anger out on them.
Hobbies: He is an excellent horse rider, and he is amazing at hunting. He also is very good at basic ballroom dance. While he prefers not to let everyone know this, his parents sent him to classes when he was young. He also took something very similar to karate classes however it was a protection class... he learned nothing but that fighting was fun.
Likes: Most types of animals, however horses are his favorite. He likes fighting, sparring or flat out fighting, either way there is pain and adrenalin. He also likes sports, mostly regal sports like polo and tennis, but he has come to love American football.
Dislikes: Other people, he likes kids who are like him... but they have to earn his respect before he will consider liking them. He also doesn't like Apples. He wont even feed them to his horses. Instead he gives them pears. He also really doesn't like heights. He doesn't faint or anything but he gets slightly queezy.
Strengths: With his cunning mind its no surprise he excels in school A's all the way through private grade school. He is also very good at convincing people to do his bidding.
Weaknesses: He doesn't take no for an answer. He becomes enraged easily and takes offense at almost everything. He doesn't make friends, unless when it is necessary. His grandfather taught him when to make connections.

FAMILY
Mother: Elizabeth Edna Evangelist, Ravenclaw (Mixed but more potently magical)
Father: Citlali Clayoquot, He went to the school in Salem (Mixed blood)
Siblings: Baby sister : Beth Clayoquot
Extended Family: Grandfather (Jackson Leroy Evangelist) Slytherin (Mixed. Wife was half pure/ half mixed blood)
Somehow related to Kennedy back through the family many generations back. He only knows this because his grandfather was worried he would be too alone and put in a favor to Kennedy's family so Kenny would help with Wicka.
Relationship with Family: Mostly distant.Loves his grandfather.

HISTORY
General History: His family lives in west Yorkshire, England. They are fairly well off. His mother came out of money and as such has a generous allowance from her father who owns the house in Yorkshire. His Father is an American Indian who has deep roots that he can trace back to the Indian Shamans of 'myth'. His father graduated from the school in Salem and moved to work with the magical clean up team in London. He met Elizabeth in Olivanders when he needed to get his wand fixed. Turns out American made wands aren't as strongly built as Olivander's. They flirted and then went to lunch and they just clicked. 12 months later, Wicka was born. Citlali convinced her to name him after his paternal grandfather. Wicka's grandfather dislikes Citlali with a passion and hopes that Wicka never turns into anything close to his fun loving, soft father.

MISCELLANEOUS
The Sorting: The hat sat on his head. All he could think about was the possibility of lice... he would have to shower as soon as he got out of the great hall. His green eyes stared out with a challenge. The hat was mumbling something about his mother being a ravenclaw...great. He could stomach ravenclaw...after all it wasn't hufflepuff...

"Hufflepuff you say?"

Wicka startled and grit his teeth... damnit... think of anything but hufflepuff... All that he could think of was that blasted badger... Wait the hat had said something... What did it say... The hat was wisked off his head and he frowned staring at the crowd. Not one hufflepuff clapped... He glared at them but then registered that there was clapping.

Slytherin...yes... He could deal with that. Walking slowly he sat at the slytherin table just in time to hear the hat call out a Hufflepuff.

Boggart: His Boggart would be his horse bleeding from a terrible stomach wound. Blood. He seriously dislikes blood. He can deal with it if it comes from him hitting someone and having their nose bleed. But big open wounds make him scared enough to faint...

Mirror of Erised: He would see himself a trainer of champion horses. Unicorns fill his stables and pastures. A black Unicorn with a flowing mane would be his pride and joy. His grandfather would be standing behind him with his hand on Wicka's shoulder and a proud smile on his face.

EXTRA CREDIT

Patronus: Friesian Horse, his first horse is his happiest memory and he likes to think its Chompy protecting him.

Greatest Treasure: He has a stash of rocks... they aren't anything amazing to look at... Just plain grey rocks mostly... however they represent memories. He can tell you a story about each and everyone of them.

Manner of Dress: When out of class he usually has on jeans and a polo or sometimes he has on straight black slacks... however he tends to dislike wearing his robe... but he will if pushed.

Favorite Class: Potions~ maybe DADA...but probably poitions

Worst Class: Simply put History of Magic...Can you say snooze-fest

GENERAL
Name: Selina “Lina” Darby
Gender: Female
Birthday: May 28th
House: Ravenclaw
Blood Status: Muggleborn
Wand: Rosewood, Unicorn Hair 8 inches
Wand Hand: Left

PERSONALITY
General:
Selina is curious about everything, from how a remote works to why a person acts a certain way in a situation. Most of the time she can use her curiosity to her advantage as she has been trying to read up on laws and customs of witches and wizards. She hates the saying 'curiosity killed the cat' because she knows it isn't just felines that can be caught in it's luring trap. She regularly finds herself having to sit and listen to what other people say just to know what they know or even following strangers that catch her attention though she is able to restrain her self how ever if that is not an option or it seems to be a dangerous situation. Every time Lina sees some one in trouble she can't help but want to help them out. She will do anything within her power to cheer some one up or get them out of a tough spot even if it means getting in danger herself. There have been many times where she has rounded up stray animals around the city and find food for them all, usually in the dead of the night so no one will notice. Lina has learned to pay attention to her surroundings from all the time she has wondered around her home town. There have been many times where she got out of a possibly bad situation by picking up little details she might have other wise missed. She trains herself regularly by sitting and just watching the world around her, some times for hours at a time.

First it was in Lina normal school grades and then it is in her magical school grades that get her nervous as a bird in a cat show. And then add that she is the first witch in her family that she knows of, being unaware that one of her great grandfather's was a squib with a magical parent, she is afraid she will fail horribly. This might have been one of the reasons she has developed the need to know everything. Lina hasn't been able to spend a lot of time, more then a few hours at a time at least, with other people besides family so she isn't entirely comfortable around new people and those she doesn't know too well. She is likely to be found off to the side silently watching in big groups as she doesn't know how entirely how to react to certain things and some times her shyness gets so bad she losses her voice for a while. Lina is a bit of a gossip, wanting to collect information on what is going on with who, though she her self does not usually tell any one what she finds out. Should she know you to the point of being comfortable around you, she can be really insistent about having to know what ever secret you have been hiding and loves being the first to know what it is.
Habits:
When she gets tired she will reach up and absently start to run her fingers through her hair, something she had picked up from her mother.
Anytime she started getting nervous or feels a blush coming on she normally ducks her head to hide slightly behind her bangs.
Hobbies:
Reading- Ever since she was little books and the information contained inside of them interested her. It's not unusual to find her carrying two or more books, reading outside or hanging out in the library to read.

Swimming- Not something she can do at Hogwarts unless it was in the lake but she make ups for it with the pool at home.
Likes: Chocolate, reading, people watching, art, owls
Dislikes: Bugs, lazy people, being forced to talk in front of a large group

FAMILY
Mother: Calla Darby [Muggle] Calla is one of two librarians in Selina's hometown and is a very gentle, calm lady with a mothering streak a mile wide.
Father: Reilly Darby [Muggle] Reilly works for a construction company and is a very big man that is more teddy then bear.
Extended Family: Aunt Holly Darby, younger sister to Reilly. [Muggle] Holly is the adventurous family member that only shows up a few times a year thanks to her traveling all over the world doing odd jobs here at there.
Relationship with Family:
She has a fairly good relationship with her family even though her parents work a lot. They always make sure to set aside some time for family dinner every night and talk about their day and anything new that might have some up. Since she has been going to Hogwarts she writes letters to them, and vice versa once they got used to the owl system, a couple times a week to make up for the lack of family time. Lina has a more polite, shy relationship with her Aunt since Holly very rarely shows up for more then the holidays.

HISTORY
General History:
Selina and her family live in a small sized town in Ireland, though she had been born in London thanks to her mother going into labor at a school reunion two weeks early. As she was growing up there were not a lot of kids her own age there and was home schooled for the first few grades, furthering her separation from the correct age group social interaction. With no siblings and no cousins that they were aware of thanks to her mothers parentage, it wasn't a big surprise that she developed a shyness when it came to strangers. When she was about five the first noticed sign of her magical ability showed up, though at the time they had dismissed it at the time, when she had been climbing up a tree to get a better look at an abandoned bird nest then slipped and fell. Her magic had cushioned her fall so she didn't brake her wrist like she would have thanks to how she was falling. Again her magic had showed up when she was nine and the book she had been reading was knocked out of her hands but some how managed to land with the age she had been reading on open and the book mark she had been holding landed right next to the sentence she had been about to read. The most attention catching happenstance though was when she had been upset and accidentally turned one of her father's good shirts a very bright pink and leaving them with no explanation on how.

When she was eleven one of the professors from Hogwarts arrived and it took a few hours, a cleaning charm demonstration that made her mother quite happy to not have to clean the dishes, and a prompt to think back on any unusual things happening for her and her parents to accept magic was real. After accepting it however, she jumped at the chance to learn new things. The first time she visited Diagon Alley almost had her changing her mind thanks to the realization of the shear number of people who would be her classmates, classmates who she would have to interact with daily. Thankfully getting her wand and books reminded her of what she could learn about both magic and magical people in general.

The first year she had at Hogwarts was quiet, filled with learning as much as she could understand and very little interaction with students outside her house. The second year was much the same though she did pick up the hobby of collecting chocolate frogs from one of her roommates and rather firmly decided that she would never ever try out for Quidditch after a small mock game that she had been roped into.

MISCELLANEOUS
The Sorting:
Selina waited on the left side of the group of first years, hoping she wouldn't blush too hard from all of the people looking in their direction while simultaneously trying to ignore them by staring in awe at the ceiling. Were the other students planning on staring the entire time? Didn't they get bored? So preoccupied with the stares she almost missed her name being called but thankfully a boy behind her nudged her forward. She sort of shuffled over to the stool and shank down with blush flaring at having everyone's attention on her. The hat was big on her though so it fell over her eyes, blocking her sight of the students. “Ah, thirst for knowledge I see. Better be RAVENCLAW!” She jumped at the voice and bit back a startled squeak as the clapping started. When the hat was lifted she shuffled over to the blue bannered table as her new housemates gave her smiles and greetings.

Boggart:
It would turn into her parents walking away from her while saying she was too different from them to handle. It's an unfounded fear of hers that is buried deep in her subconsciousness.

Mirror of Erised:
If Lina looked into the mirror, she would see herself sitting on a couch at Hogwarts between her parents while they looked at academic awards that she won.

EXTRA CREDIT

Patronus:
Her patronus would be a golden retriever. Her mother had an old male retriever named Max when Lina was little that used to watch over her when ever she was in his sight.

Greatest Treasure:
A circle locket that has a picture of her parents on one side and a picture of Max on the other. She wears this everywhere though it is normally tucked into her shirt out of sight.

Manner of Dress: She prefers comfortable yet stylish clothes.

Favorite Class: History of Magic

Worst Class: Defense Against the Dark Arts

Note: I just want to reemphasize that these kids are just eleven so something like sexuality probably won't come up in conversation that much. x D I understand that some kids know right away that they like the same gender but I'm not sure if they would be actively thinking "I'm gay" that young. I also am aware that this was won in the Valentine event so I understand why you want it so out there but just remember. Eleven. x D

GENERAL
Name: Alastar Arsenius
Gender: Male
Birthday: February 14th
House: Gryffindor
Blood Status: Mixed
Wand: 9 1/2" / Rosewood/ Phoenix feather
Wand Hand: Right

PERSONALITY
General: I'm here deal with it. Alastar is gay and doesn't mind telling everyone about it. Back home he was quite and reserved because of his parents, but he looks at School as a way to be himself for the first time.
Habits: Hair flipping does it often. Twirling a quill in his fingers.
Hobbies: Sewing and making people realize how pretty they can be. Standing up for people that seem sad or picked on.
Likes: Things that sparkle, clothes((good)), hair ((good )), sweets, dancing, romance, sunshine

Father: Baxter Arsenius (pureblood/Slytherin)
Siblings: Only Child
Extended Family: Doesn't really know them
Relationship with Family: Strained, the only people he hasn't come out to is them. When he is at home he dresses in dull colors and acts like a completely different person.

HISTORY
General History:
Alastar has spent most of his time being someone else. Pretending to be just who his family wanted him to be. It also made him withdraw, there were other young wizards in his area that he lived ((such as Horus Elderson)), but Alastar avoided them. Feeling ugly and weird he just preferred to keep to himself. He also had a secret he would sneak away from his family constantly and head to a part of the city far from them. Where he had found a clothing store willing to teach him to sew. It was the only thing keeping him sane the only place he really felt he could be himself.

MISCELLANEOUS
The Sorting:
Well this was a horrid ceremony and the hat was equally as horrid looking. On top of that getting up in front of the school was a little nerve racking.

The hat was placed on him and he could hear it's thoughts quite clearly. Though Alastar didn't care where he was placed he eyed where Horus had sat down with the Ravenclaws. They had sat on the bus together and had bonded quite a lot it would be nice to be in the same house.

A laugh came into Alastar's head "Ravenclaw is not for you, you don't like books much and thats a nice way of putting what I'm thinking."

No need to be rude he thought to the hat and frowned a little knowing he won't fit well in Ravenclaw.

"You're vain and will do what you have to, to get what you want." The hats voice came again. "Perhaps...Slytherin."

What ever don't care Alastar thought back.

"But no...." The hat mumbled before suddenly shouting "Gryffindor!"

"What?!" Alastar blinked looking rather confused now.

Boggart:
A reflection of himself looking ugly and weak. Unable to help anyone much less himself.

Mirror of Erised:
Shows himself on a run way premiering a grand line of wizard fashions. With someone by his side thought he can't quite see who they are.

Note: First off, it's a jarvey not a jarven. x D Secondly, Niall has to have SOME likable traits--how did he get that then boyfriend? With money? (Also, and as I said before in your last RP approval, remember. Eleven years old. x D Please remember that when discussing boyfriends as well as sexual orientation).

Also, I would like you to elaborate as to why he's so cruel. Cruelty is a trait that isn't passed down peacefully--did he have victims? Or was he the victim of his parents? If the Wards are shut ins, it's unlikely that he'd have much of a chance to make relationships (especially a bully-victim one with other kids his age). Do his parents know he's homosexual? How does he know himself?

I love this--it's so detailed and well thought out : D

GENERAL
Name: Anais Lovelace
Gender: Female
Birthday: September 13th
House: Ravenclaw
Blood Status: 1/8 Veela
Wand: Rowan Wood, 10 Inches, Veela Hair
(Received In France When Beauxbatons Was Still On The Menu)
Wand Hand: Right

PERSONALITY
General: Generally, Anais can come off as quite shy and quiet at first, but once she gets to know someone, and is comfortable with them, she comes out of her shell and opens up. Usually she is quite prone to laughter and making jokes, and has occasional moments of sarcasm. She loves making friends and meeting new people, but unfortunately can often be offended quite easily. Without meaning to, she can be somewhat vain, dainty, and high maintenance. She is a fast learner, and loves all things magic, so she actually reads through all of her Hogwarts school books for fun, though she does find Potion making quite boring.
Habits: She has an odd habit of constantly trying to catch her reflection, or looking at herself in mirrors, something she is quite unaware of when brought to attention. She also has the habit of slipping into French when she's really angry, a habit she got into when she wanted to secretly tell her mother or grandmother things in front of her father, who never learned to speak French.
Hobbies: She absolutely loves to read, both Muggle and Non-Muggle books alike when she can get her hands on them, and she loves to experiment with muggle makeup. She loves to both dance and sing.
Likes: Books, Her Reflection, Muggle Makeup, Her Locket, Her Charm Bracelet, Learning, Reading, Veela Lore, Veela, Singing, Dancing, Magic, Hogwarts
Dislikes: Hampsters (Don't Ask), Bullies, Slytherin House, Uncleanliness, Disorder, Messes

FAMILY
Mother: Cecelia Annisele Dubois-Lovelace (1/4 Veela)
Father: Charles Beckett Lovelace (Wizard - Pureblood)
Siblings: ---
Extended Family:
- Grandmother: Lorelei Amelia Dubois (1/2 Veela)
- Grandfather: Patrick Armando Dubois (Wizard - Pureblood - Deceased)
- Great-Grandmother: Larissa Moreau (Pure Veela - Deceased)
- Great-Grandfather: Unknown

Relationship with Family: Anais is both extremely close to her mother and grandmother, but also quite seperate from them. As the only child, she is her father's princess, and he would go above and beyond to get her anything she wants. She knew her great-grandmother for only a short time before she passed away of old age. Despite being the only child, she is far from anything resembling spoiled.

HISTORY
General History: Originally from France, Cecelia Dubois was visiting England on holiday when she happened across a young man in a pub, Mr. Charles Beckett Lovelace. With her pearl-like skin, white-blonde hair, and vivid blue eyes, it was love at first sight; with his British good looks, goofy accent, and dark skin, it was love at first sight for her as well. It wasn't six months before they were married, and another six before Mrs. Lovelace was with child. As she had always been close with her mother and grandmother, her father being deceased, they moved the family to Britain, where Mr. Lovelace was a Physician at St. Mungo's. After nine months, a beautiful baby girl was born, little Anais Lovelace.

It was immediately obvious that Veela blood was finally starting to lose it's hold in this family. Where mother and grandmother had pearl-white skin, and the power to charm men with voice, dance, and glow, the child had none of the ability, though she did inherit the white-blonde hair and stunning blue eyes, the dark skin coming from her father. Regardless of power, she was adored by her family, even more so when Mrs. Lovelace received the news she could no longer bear children.

As the years passed however, the young Anais was taught both the arts of singing and dancing, and quite excelled at both, though without the talent of those before her. It often made her resentful that Veela held no sway in her blood, and it was for that reason she often felt seperate from her mother and grandmother. However, she was skilled with magic, though inadvertently, and odd things often happened around her; from accidental dye jobs (long story), to the family cat appearing in Africa (again, long story), it was obvious they had a witch in the family.

As both mother and grandmother had attended Beauxbatons Institute of Magic in France, it was a long argument whether or not she would be keeping with that tradition, or attending Hogwarts. As Hogwarts was much closer, it was finally decided it was there that she would be attending. The summer before her eleventh birthday, she received the letter by owl that would forever shape the rest of her life.

MISCELLANEOUS
The Sorting:
As both her mother and grandmother had attended Beauxbatons before her, Anais knew nothing of the Sorting Hat except for the stories her father often liked to tell her late at night around the fireplace. It was a dirty, nasty old thing, and she quite decidedly did not want to put it on her head, especially after it had taken her the entire train ride to decide which flower to wear in her hair.

"Lovelace, Anais!"

Anais stepped forward hesitantly, but eventually found the stool where the hat was placed gently on top of her head.

"Ah, yes, I feel quite a history here," the Hat whispered quietly in her ear. "Quite a mind, loves to read, I can feel that. A fast learner, and some quick wit! A little vain, too, much like many of Slytherin House, if I do say so myself."

Oh no, not Slytherin! They were a nasty lot as far as she could tell, absolute brutes - it looked like some of them must be part troll - and she wanted nothing to do with their type.

The hat chuckled quietly in her ear. "Hmm, I know exactly where to put you..." Oh no, that sounded menacing!

"Ravenclaw!"

A quiet sigh of relief as she joined the cheering sea of Blue and Grey.

Boggart: Death/Grim Reaper - Though young for a child of eleven, she has always been quite aware that she will not always be on this earth, especially after her great-grandmother passed.

Mirror of Erised: To Be A Veela
It was odd, this mirror, surrounded by a huge gilt frame, with odd writing she couldn't understand at the top. She watched herself, fascinated, as the reflection before her began to waver and change. No longer was her skin dark, but softly white, luminous like the moon, with the same soft silver glow. Her hair shone, and her eyes were beautiful blue diamonds, or crystals. She watched entranced as her reflection began to dance and sing with a voice that sang of beauty, and longing, and dreams. She could stand all night and and day at this mirror, she never wanted to leave.

EXTRA CREDIT
Patronus: A Swan
- While reading Muggle lore one day, she came upon a book that spoke of different Muggle legends and monsters. According to Muggles, Veela were beautiful women who could change shape at will, from a Swan to a Serpent. After beeing around her beautiful mother and grandmother her entire life, she could quite believe they could become Swans. After that, she has always admired Swans, and felt protected by them.

Greatest Treasure: Her Silver Charm Bracelet and Locket
- Gifts given to her by her great-grandmother before she died. It it said they go back generations, passed down from Veela to Veela, and despite having a beautiful daughter and granddaughter, the bracelet and locket were given to her. For that, she will forever cherish them.

Manner of Dress: Imbeccable, Clean, Perfect
- Never will a speck of dirt touch her clothes, and never will she be classified as "Disorderly."

Favorite Class: Charms
- For whatever reason, she is oddly fascinated by making objects float and zoom around the room at random.

Worst Class: Potions
- Enough Said.

Note: Remember that one of the other attributes of a slytherin besides their "pureblood" affinity is that they are ambitious. : 3 So perhaps "whatever" might not been the best response to being sorted? X D It makes him seem like he doesn't care.

GENERAL
Name:Lucian Barret Avery
Gender: Male
Birthday:Sometime in the Fall ((no one knows the day for sure))
House: Slytherin
Blood Status: Pure
Wand: 9 1/4 in Ash wood dragonheart string
Wand Hand:right

PERSONALITY
General: Lucian not only hates others, but he hates himself. He wishes nothing but suffering to others, because that's all he has ever felt.
Lucian is highly unpredictable when it comes to his moods. He can be ok one moment then wanting to lash out in anger the next. Lucian likes to take things out on people he feels are lesser then himself. Which thanks to his father is anyone not of pureblood but a special hatred is reserved for muggles.

His saving grace, somewhere deep down is a frightened young boy. Perhaps with the right experiences, right teachers, right friends, he can find away to get himself under control. Lucian wishes deep down to be normal and have a normal life , but he seems to be bipolar and feels that he will never get to have those things because of it.

Habits: Shuffling the Tarot deck, ((O.C.D. about somethings))
Hobbies: Tarot, Avoiding people because of his mood swings, and avoiding tea cups like they are a plague
Likes: Hogwarts ((gets him away from the orphanage))
Dislikes: The orphanage and most people

FAMILY
Mother: Helga Dermier ((Alive, pureblood))
Father: Barret Avery ((Deceased, pureblood))
Siblings: Liliana Avery ((alive and with her mother))
Extended Family: There are others, but Lucian does not care to find out.
Relationship with Family:Hates his only known living relatives for obvious reasons.

HISTORY
General History:
The Avery's by their history have always been for purebloods and any moments made to preserve them no matter the cost. It is said that the Avery's have always had a cruel sense of humor and wicked mood swings.
Every child is taught the importance of a pure blood line as if their life depended on the knowledge. Which it very well could, it was thought of that the Avery's would easily kill family members that broke outside that of pure blood.Lucian's father managed to beat this into his boy before he left this earth

Barret Avery, Lucian's father died before Lucian ever went to Hogwarts. No one is sure how are why, but the fact is Lucian predicted it. One morning after his father has finished his tea Lucian happened to look at the bottom of the cup as he cleared the table. He dropped it and looked at his father. "The grim." The boy spook looking frightened and bewildered. He only knew what it was from the descriptions of it in his tea leaves book. Lucian had a natural born talent to read and predict things. Be it tea leaves, palms, to tarot cards Lucian seemed to know what the meant without trying. He rarely ever predicted the good and because of this and the incident with his father's tea Helga his mother thought him to be a cursed child. She left him at a wizard orphanage in England before fleeing home to Germany with her daughter in toe. Lucian didn't find much more acceptance at the orphanage, even though it was a rare occurrence that Lucian would read something. It gave the other kids a reason to outcast him. Most in the talent of reading are thought of as crazy so they called him just that. It one day got to the point he could no longer sit back and take it. He quickly became violent fighting anyone who tried to put him down. Of course this made him ever more popular with the care takers at the orphanage. When it finally came time for Lucian to go to school the care takers were happy that someone else would get to take care of him for once. Before the first day of school Lucian got his first deck of Tarot cards. He was fascinated by it like it called to him. His obsession with the cards seemed to help stabilize Lucian somewhat. Yet there still seemed to be to much anger in Lucian's heart for him to be one hundred percent alright. It didn't help that he hated others for what they had that he didn't.

Notes: I think you mean that the mother is a muggle? Muggle-born means that she has magic (which is what it sounds like right now) but just being a muggle means you have no magic.

GENERAL
Name: Matthew James Mason
Gender: Male
Birthday: December 3
House: Gryfindor
Blood Status: Mixed blood
Wand: 11 inch beech wood with a dragonheart string core
Wand Hand: Right hand

PERSONALITY
General:

Ever since he learned how to walk, Matthew (Matty for short) has always been clumsy, accidentally knocking himself in the head with his toy blocks many, many times. Once he did start walking, he would forget to pay attention to where he was going and end up bumping into any and everything. His mother learned quickly to keep a well-stocked supply of antibiotic ointment and plaster strips.

His forgetfulness doesn’t just lead to him being nearly covered in plaster strips; it also leads to him missing things. Anything of his that could go missing, from his shoes to his toys, will go missing because he will forget where he sat it down or to put it back in the place it belongs. When he entered primary school, many times his teachers would scold him for leaving his homework at home. His mom tried to help him out by making sure to check his backpack every morning when he left. Now that he is going to Hogwarts, she has to incessantly check his trunk and whatever other bags he takes to make sure he has everything he needs.

Most of Matty’s clumsiness and forgetfulness comes from him having his mind off in his own little worlds. He has always enjoyed a good story and is constantly delving into fantasy worlds either of his own making or that he is familiar with because of books, cartoons, or video games. He’s constantly working on scripts for his next stop motion video he wants to make when he gets back home. His journeys into his worlds, however, hinder him in class because his mind is constantly going and wanders off from the topic of the lecture.

His flights of fantasy, as well as having a slightly sheltered life, lead to him being extremely gullible. He is likely to believe what anyone tells him as truth; he doesn’t think anyone would lie to him and likes to believe the best in people. Because of this, he could easily be manipulated by anyone seeking to mislead him or tricked into doing something he doesn’t want to do.

Because of these traits, Matty looks to fictional superheroes or others in real life that he thinks of as superheroes, such as firemen, police, or doctors. He sees their bravery and wishes he could be strong like them and able to battle against evil, or just the evilness of a new scrape on his knee or being made fun of when he falls.

Habits:

Falling down: Poor Matty is extremely clumsy and is constantly stumbling over anything that is (or isn’t) in his way.

Dropping things: In class, the boy is constantly dropping his quill; the professors are always scared for him during potions because of it.

Forgetting things: If he’s not dropping something, he’s forgetting where he puts things. His wand will go missing and turn up behind his ear; his homework will go missing and turn up in the text book he had been using.

Hobbies:

Making movies: Matty has a wide collection of superhero action figures back at home. When he is there, he loves to get a hold of his father’s video camera and record his own stop motion videos.

Video games: Another hobby Matty loves to indulge in while he is at home is video games. His favorite genre is roleplaying video games.

Reading: When it’s time for him to come to Hogwarts, he always makes sure to pack his latest issues of his favorite superhero comics in his trunk. He's very thankful that his dad will use the owl system to send him the newest issues while he is there.

Likes: Super heroes, video games, comic books, grapes, Kool-Aid
Dislikes:having to go to bed when he’s about to beat a boss, losing his video camera privileges, falling down, scabs

FAMILY

Mother: Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Mason is a muggle born who worked as a teacher’s aide until Matty was born. After he was born, she dedicated herself to being a stay at home mom. With him now off to Hogwarts for school, she is working on trying to get back into teaching, this time as a primary school teacher.
Father: William Mason is a mixed blood though he failed to inform his wife of this before he married her. Like his son, he was also sorted into the house of Gryfindor. However, unlike most of the others in his family, he chose to embrace the muggle side of his family and even took a job in the muggle world as a police man. His job leads him to being out of the house on duty more often than not. He is similar to his son when it comes to his forgetful ways and clumsiness. His wife is convinced the younger Mason boy inherited that trait from him.
Siblings: Matty has a little sister that has not yet shown any signs of being magical.
Extended Family: Matty has a grandmother on his father’s side that he sees once a year and an uncle on his mother’s side that occasionally comes to live with his parents.
Relationship with Family:
Matty is very much a momma’s boy because of how much time he spent with her, though the second Dad finally comes home from work, Matty is right there with him and is glued to his side until it is time for his dad to return to work. He was upset when he had to leave them behind to come to Hogwarts, but after much insisting that it would be best for him, he went and his dad promised him that he would teach his mother how to write to him as soon as he could.

HISTORY

General History:

Matthew James Mason was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Upon his birth, his mother decided to be a stay at home mother while his father continued his work as a police officer. Most of Matty’s time growing up, then, had been spent with his mother. Instead of sitting him in front of the television, she would keep him with her throughout the day and occasionally work on projects with him. Many times his dad would come home to find a new finger painting or macaroni sculpture that had been made. Once his inherited clumsiness started to become more apparent, she made sure he was always near her so she could see when something happened to him.

However, once Matty was old enough to enter primary school, his father insisted that he be enrolled, instead of homeschooled as his mother wanted him to be. Matty hated it his first day but made a friend or two that made the experience better. However, his shyness and clumsiness made Matty the perfect target for bullies. Then not only would he be sent to the nurse because of his typical bumps and scrapes, but because of trying to protect himself against the bullies. Many times his parents would be called in for parent-teacher conferences or meetings with the principal to try to get the other kids to stop treating Matty the way they did or to get him transferred to a new class.

His first experience with magic happened during school one day. He was focusing intently on a math quiz, trying to remember how to do long division, when the spare eraser on his desk started floating around his hand and erasing his mistakes on its own. Luckily when the teacher called his name, the eraser dropped back to the desk and left the teacher bewildered. His next experience with magic thankfully happened at home; his parents had just finished letting him open his birthday presents (brand new action figures) and he was in their living room with the video camera, working on making one of his small movies. His dad left him alone in the room for just a couple minutes to retrieve a drink; Jessica came into running into the kitchen a few minutes later and drug him back in the room. When he arrived back in the living room, he found Matty’s new action figures were moving around on their own as the boy recorded them.

As soon as he noticed, he sighed and called his wife to come into another room, away from the two children. He left Matty alone to continue making his video while he explained the situation to his wife. As he was speaking to Beth concerning what was going on with their son, a letter came flying through the mail slot. Curious, Matty sat down the camera and the action figures finally went back to being stationary when his attention was off of them. He picked up the letter and noticed it was addressed to him from some place called Hogwarts. Unaware of what he had in his hands, he went to take the letter to his parents. When his father seen what he held in his hands, he gave another sigh and had Matty come sit by him. He spent the next hour explaining to him about his grandfather and those that had come before him in the family that had also gone to the school as well as what it meant for Matty to be invited. He made sure to also explain to him, that if Matty didn't want to go, he didn't have to; he didn't have to embrace the magical side of his lineage if he didn't want to.

He let Matty have a couple of days to think while he tried to console Matty's mother. Eventually Matty decided that he would try the new school (it was kind of cool to him that he was a wizard and could learn to do magic). Though Beth didn't like the idea of her son going off to some strange school (even if her husband and others in his family had been there), when it came time for Matty to board the train, she was right there waving him off, with tears in her eyes.

MISCELLANEOUS

The Sorting:

Matty watched with rapt attention as the sorting hat was placed on the other boy’s and girl’s heads. He was amazed at the way the hat could talk and apparently knew where each kid belonged. As the line in front of him started to get shorter, he wondered where he would go. He tried to remember the names his father had told him. He didn’t think he was fit to be a Ravenclaw and he didn’t know what a Hufflepuff was; he desperately hoped the hat didn’t think he belonged to the snakes. What was the other name ? Gryfin something…..The hat called out “Gryfindor!” as it sorted another kid and it was almost like a light bulb went off in Matty’s head. Gryfindor! That’s what it was!

He remembered what a griffin was after reading about one in a book with his dad. As he walked up to the stool, his thoughts managed to stay focused on griffins and if he had anything in common with them. They were supposed to be big, he remembered as the hat was placed on his head, and they were brave when going into battle. As that thought crossed his mind, Matty started to feel slightly disheartened; he wouldn’t make a good griffin.
From the top of his head, he heard the hat hum, “So it is bravery you seek? Bravery cannot be given but it can be learned, you see. Gryfindor!!!!”

Matty blushed as a grin spread across his face as he made his way, hoping his wouldn’t trip, to the table where his new classmates were cheering.

Boggart: Matty’s boggart would be a clown; he has hated and been scared of them for as long as he can remember. His first trip to the circus didn’t help matters.

Mirror of Erised: He would see himself standing tall, not a bandage in sight, smiling with straight teeth, next to his dad in a Batman costume with himself in a Robin costume.

EXTRA CREDIT

Patronus: Matty’s patronus would be a bat because of the time he got to meet someone dressed as Batman at the local comic book store near his parents’ house.

Greatest Treasure: His comic books. His dad started collecting and reading them to him at an early age and now helps him collect all the issues involving his favorite characters.

Manner of Dress: Matty typically starts the day off with his robes or regular clothes being well put together but by the end of the day, they end up a rumpled mess.

Favorite Class: Mythological Creatures because he is familiar with many of the stories that go with the creatures.

Worst Class: Potions because he’s constantly mixing up ingredients and accidentally causing whatever he has in his cauldron to explode.

GENERAL
Name: Basil Zacchaeus Phillips
Gender: Male
Birthday: June 22
House: Hufflepuff
Blood Status: Half-blood
Wand: Sycamore, unicorn hair core, ten and three quarter inches, swishy
Wand Hand: Right

PERSONALITY
General:
Basil would like nothing more than to pass through his school years quietly and without being noticed, though he seems to already sense that he is doomed from the beginning; after all, you can’t very well miss a name like his, with so many possible variations for any bullying lout with half a troll brain. He is painfully shy and genuinely surprised whenever anyone bothers to speak to him; it takes a bit of work to get him to open up, and even then it’s with the gradual care of a rabbit emerging from its warren. Succeed though and you’ll have as loyal a friend as you could ask for, and always willing to lend a hand, whether it’s help with homework or serving as a lookout while sneaking the occasional snack from the kitchens in the middle of the night. While his magical skill is pretty average, his memory is as sharp as a basilisk fang, and if you happened to be dozing off in class or forgotten the answer to something, chances are he’ll have it recalled for you should you ask.
Habits:
Stuttering- When he has engaged the attention of at least two people, Basil tends to stutter as he speaks. It's not as noticeable with just one person, but on upwards, the more attention he has the worse it gets. As a result, he would much rather not say anything at all, and can hardly wait until he becomes skilled enough to practice non-verbal magic. It's much easier on him when everyone else is talking at once, such as in the Great Hall or in a Charms session where everyone around him is practicing the same spell, thus his impediment doesn't quite get in his way enough to make his grades slip down.
Couplet writing- “Works better than a Remembrall.” One of the ways Basil helps keep his memory sharp and his facts straight is that whenever he has need to recall something, he writes a couplet about it on parchment, and by memorizing that, can recall the fact much easier. For instance, to remember the 1612 Goblin Rebellion that took place in Hogsmeade, he would jot down something like this: ‘In 1612 in the town of Hogsmeade, the goblin rebellion caused many to bleed’. While it helps him immensely, the amount of couplets already added to the standard student outline notes makes his papers exceedingly messy, and anyone trying to copy from him would be much better off just asking him for help.
Hobbies:
Story writing- In his down time, Basil loves to make up stories and write them down, amassing a good assortment of bound parchment at the bottom of his trunk. His stutter prevents him from reading them out loud to anyone, and he doesn’t entirely believe that anyone would want to hear them anyway, so it suits him just fine. He likes to create just about any kind of story, but the ones that take up the most space are the ones that involve him recreating his own life at home.
Tea Making- Basil’s favorite beverage is a nice hot cup of tea, and when he doesn’t have any stories to write down, he enjoys trying to make new variations of tea using the herbs and plants he learns about in Herbology. He has little interest in making any particularly magical brews (he gets his fill of that and more in Potions), concentrating more on the flavor than anything else. Of course, if an herb here or there should happen to work to the advantage of the drinker, like stimulate the mind, or cure dragon pox, he won’t complain.

Likes: Hot tea, Jammie Dodgers, writing, star gazing (non-school-related), swans
Favorite candy: Droobles Best Blowing Gum
Favorite Quidditch Team: Pride of Portree
Dislikes:People making fun of his name, public speaking, carrots, shallow people

FAMILY
Mother: Tashina Wilkerson-Phillips- Muggle
Father: Jonathan Phillips- Half-Blood- Hufflepuff
Siblings:
Abigail Phillips- 18- Formerly of Gryffindor- currently professional curse-breaker
Lydia Phillips- 16- Gryffindor
Extended Family: Tashina’s family have never once contacted anyone other than her, so practically nothing is known about them. Basil has one set of grandparents on his father’s side, who keep in touch and lovingly and constantly try to bring their son around. They visit once in a while to make sure the children are getting on, and are determined to not let the deteriorating family situation hamper Basil and his chance to make something of himself.
Relationship with Family:

Basil gets along quite well with his two sisters, who dote on him despite his being born of a different mother, and one they didn’t particularly care for to boot. Lydia loves to drag him off on a whim and ‘make him over’, especially loving to play with his hair and delighting that he doesn’t object. His other sister Abigail is gone much of the time due to her job, but when she does come home, she usually has a small coin or trinket for her little brother.
Basil loves his father, but hates that he is constantly sad; he has never seen him smile since THAT woman left, unless he does it at work when his son is unable to see him. Judging by the huge drop in visits from his father’s friends after a while, it seems unlikely.

It goes without saying that he despises his mother. Though he doesn’t wish himself never born, he rather wishes that he had been born of someone different, like his two sisters. Being old enough to understand the reason for her leaving when she did leave, her actions anger him, even more so when after so long, she hadn’t even bothered to write to check up on her own son and the man she had left desolated. At times he finds himself wondering if she had been a Muggle at all, but some loathsome creature that lured men to her, only to drain them dry and leave them in tatters. Much of the stories he loves to write in school are fairy tales about him really being born to someone wonderful, like a kindhearted healer or an adventurous dragon keeper.

HISTORY
General History: Basil’s family history began with his father Jonathan. Before Basil was even thought of, his father was married to a beautiful witch named Annalie. Together they lived in a modest sized house in Sunbury, brought two lovely girls into the world and helped to set them on the path to wizard greatness.

When Abigail was 12 and Lydia 10, Jonathan and Annalie took them to Lower Sunbury to watch the swan-upping, where every year the Muggles engaged in the capture, tagging and release of the mute swans that populated the area. Bread in hand, they hoped to get a chance to get close enough to feed a few, but a malicious wizard in attendance focused a blasting curse on one of the swans who had been swimming up to look at the humans gathered on the shore. The resulting blast, as well as taking out the unfortunate bird, killed 5 Muggles and one witch who had been hoping to entice it close enough for her children to get a good look. The offending spellcaster was subdued, and the ministry officials were able to explain it off to the Muggles as an explosion from a malfunctioning speaker that a nearby announcer was using. Devastated, the family returned home to mourn for their loss.

Basil was born only a year or so later, after his father Jonathan fell for a wealthy Muggle tourist from America named Tashina Wilkerson. She was only there for a short time, but that was all it took for the wizard to become completely taken with her, showing her a wonderful time and unknowingly aiding in the conception of his son. In an effort to convince her to remain, he confessed that he was a wizard, hoping the show of good faith would change her mind. It apparently worked, the pair marrying just a few months later, and several months afterword, Basil was born.

He grew up knowing his mother to be kinder at first, proclaiming that her new family’s ‘wizard powers’ didn’t matter to her, but as he grew, so did his mother’s seeming frustration. She would often ask/demand that Jonathan convert large amounts of his ‘wizard money’ to ordinary money so that she could use it. Subtle hints about how she would love it if a new boat ‘magically’ appeared in their backyard turned to arguments about the usefulness of his abilities and the retort that there were limits, like with everything else, and he couldn’t lawfully cross them even for her. She watched the children grow into magic-wielders and tried to reason with them, gaining only contempt-filled responses from the girls and nothing from little Basil, though she tried constantly to coax any form of magic from him.

One night, several years later, as Basil and the rest of the household slept, Tashina packed a bag and left for America, without so much as a goodbye note. Basil was 7, and was explained to by his older sisters, who apparently were quite knowledgeable on the matter, that their ‘mother’ had finally given up on using them to make herself more money and left. Basil was quick to echo their anger and disgust, but continued to love and pity his father, who fell into a slump that to this day he has still not emerged from. His mother has since never sent a single letter, and his sisters often voice the belief that the American wizarding authorities had accosted her at the plane-landing place and wiped her memory.

The Hogwarts letter came as a wonderful relief to Basil when he turned 11, with one sister already in Hogwarts and the other out practicing a trade that often had her gone for days on end, the only company Basil had at home was his father, who looked constantly sad and never seemed to pay much attention to anything, although he did manage to robotically lead his son around Diagon Alley to shop for his supplies. He might have imagined it, but he almost saw his father smile when he had dashed out of Ollivanders with his brand new wand, but that was the only reaction he had the entire day, and he came to think he had been mistaken. His sister Abigail did manage to be there in time to see him off after placing him on the train, but as he drew ever nearer to Hogwarts, Basil couldn’t help but wonder sadly if his father even knew that he had left.

MISCELLANEOUS
The Sorting:
Basil couldn’t tear his gaze away from the Great Hall ceiling, the rosy sunset outside depicted faithfully and a few stars winking out from the blue backdrop beyond the red and orange clouds. Moving slightly to avoid a steamy dribble of wax that fell from one of the candles floating above his head, he finally tore his gaze away to stare at the podium, where the Sorting Hat was just beginning to sort through the anxious huddle of first years that surrounded him. He was at a comfortable place, being near the middle of the alphabet, so he had plenty of time to calm himself when ‘Phillips, Basil’ was called out. He heard a couple of unstifled giggles as he walked up the short stairs, and he felt his ears turn red. He blamed his mother for the name; she had insisted on him having a quaint British name without any regard to the number of leg-locker curses the poor child was bound to receive as a result. Thanks, MUM.

He sat down on the edge of the stool and closed his eyes involuntarily as he felt the hat come to rest just atop the bridge of his nose. He heard a quiet voice whisper in his ear, deep and pondering. “Mmm....yes. My, so much in here already; lots of baggage that needs organizing. Decent magical talent, excellent creative mind......a good heart, and a loyalty that shines. You have quite a journey ahead of you, and I do believe the house for you is.......HUFFLEPUFF!” Basil’s eyes widened as the hat was pulled off of his head. He had been expecting Gryffindor like his two older sisters, but he couldn’t help but smile at the table full of eager, smiling faces as they beckoned to him in a friendly way, at least three patting the bench next to him and inviting him to sit there. He did have a lot of work to do, but what better way to get it done than the hardworking house itself? He couldn’t wait to tell his fath-......well, Abigail at least.

Boggart:
Basil’s boggart would be his mother Tashina, coming back from America and leading a crowd of angry people who hate wizards to kill his family and burn down their house, his father still inside and seemingly unaware of death burning around him.

Mirror of Erised:
If he looked into the mirror, Basil would see himself, surrounded on either side by his sisters and his father towering over them all, looking down on them and smiling, his old self before Tashina ever came into their lives.

EXTRA CREDIT
Patronus:
Basil’s patronus would be a swan. When he was smaller and not yet ready to learn the truth about his sisters’ mother, the girls would tell him that their mother had one day turned into a swan and flown off with the other swans on the Thames. Even when he became old enough to learn the truth, he always enjoyed the story and held on to the childish hope that perhaps, just perhaps, he might very well have another mother out there, a kinder mother, soaring above the water and searching for one more child to love.

Greatest Treasure:
A life-sized scarab carved out of a single piece of green-blue turquoise, the details enhanced with little lines of gold. His sister Abigail brought it to him after a successful curse removal on a minor Egyptian tomb; her client had no interest in a stone as common as turquoise and thought the tiny amount of gold was not worth salvaging. As she gave it to him, she told him she had learned that the green of the turquoise in Egyptian lore represented the new life of new vegetation; being in Hufflepuff now, with its abundance of plant life thriving in their common room, it’s his favorite coincidence.

Manner of Dress:
He wears his uniform in typical fashion, not really one to have anything different to make him stand out; he feels his name does quite enough of that.

Favorite Class: History of Magic, believe it or not; he finds himself quite capable of memorizing all of the appropriate dates and events, and figures that the professor would know this and not call on him as much for answers, rather wanting to hear it from someone who might not know. He also enjoys Herbology, using the knowledge to fuel his past time of trying to make new types of hot tea.

Worst Class: He dislikes any class where he has to speak out loud constantly, of which Transfiguration and Divination seem the most prominent.
