An excellent suggestion In a burst of rage, indigence and inspiration (further fuelled by Ariane's remark) the frost demon created a life-sized (sorta) effigy of Gale, bleeding, half-dead.
“How's your friend Gale?” she asked coldly. Then, forming the exact replica of the sword she used to take the hunter down, Edel, in a rare display of pure viciousness, plunged it right through his chest. Grabbing the ice sculpture by the head, the cold-hearted frost demon flung it such that the replica's head was jammed through the bars of the cage, its soulless eyes staring straight at Ariane.
Who knew that the normally kind, polite, sophisticated frost demon had it in her to do that.
“The difference is, we'll still be alive”

Glen could only frown at what he could see of the ice sculptures, looking more than a little anxious about this. He really didn't want to goad the hunters to the point that the ones in charge relaxed their order not to touch the cages. He spoke up lest anyone listen.
"She doesnae speak for all of us"
It seemed that unfortunate situations just brought out the coward in some people.

Before tilted his head at the display, then canted his head towards Edel. "Heeeey, you know, that trick would come in handy for when you get turned into a weapon. If, y'know, you actually meet the standards and don't just become another training dummy we cut up all the time." His voice was chipper and perky. Perhaps too chipper and perky. "And besides, After is ******** awesome because we only needed ONE of him while it took ALL OF YOU to take him down."

"You're so ******** right," she sneered at Ariane. "We'll keep coming back- but will you?" They weren't halloweeners, whatever they were, and perhaps, unlike them, these things could be completely destroyed. They'd certainly panicked enough when the one who attacked Lattice had collapsed.. that had to mean something. Her attention turned to Before, then, as she heard him speak to Edel.
"You needed one of him..... for what?"
The salamander was distinctly flaring up, now, though she kept her voice low.
"You needed one of him to trap a defenseless girl. It was the first plumber who captured us- the rest of you couldn't even ********* touch us." She'd dodged four consecutive nets. Four losers with bad aim.
"Maybe you can afford to be brave now you're standing outside, looking into a cage. You certainly weren't before."
With a smirk, she sent a fireball straight at him, scorching his clothes. She wasn't aiming to kill, at this moment- she would wait until she got out.

Bix didn't like seeing Before worked up but he knew better than to get in the way of Boss when she went on a rant. He still hadn't said much and the ice sculptures didn't seem to phase him at all. But the oldest of the hunters present did seem to have a benefit to his age. He'd learned about bullying first hand and he'd learned about patience. His dad's quick hand had taught him not to talk back and he'd also learned that often staying quiet was the best route. Bix wasn't much of a leader but he felt like encouraging their own silence was something he could help his team with. Keeping their cool was important.
"It's not worth fighting with them, guys. Actions beat words. Their actions proved they belong in those cages. They can make all the sculptures of me they want. They can make all the sculptures of our friends, but the fact of the matter is that he's fine and they are still in cages." He tilted his head to rest on his bow which now was leaning on his shoulder. It seemed to be an affectionate gesture, his forehead touching the feathers, gems and gold as if they were one of his closest of friends or even more. He knew that Mina was once one of these things but she definitely didn't seem to hold allegiance to them. How did that change happen? He definitely wanted to know now.
"Keep spitting. Keep cursing." Bix shrugged. "Animals get treated like animals."

“You try to mask your fear with your pretense of cheerfulness, your unwarranted sense of superiority. You forget that we too, are sons and daughters of fathers and mothers. We will not go unavenged.”
“I pray you do not delude yourself into thinking what we did was unscrupulous, no.” The frost demon stared straight into Before's eyes.
“You would have done the same.”

Her eyes widened, her hand flying to her mouth as she stared at what Edel was doing - who knew the ghoul had that in her? Lizzy had always seen her as someone who was soft-spoken and rather shy... That encouraged her to stop moping, even if it was only temporary.
Drawing a deep breath, she called out softly to Lattice to catch her attention before tapping her feet softly on the floor of the cage. Her voice was soft, almost haunting as she forced herself to give a small smile.
"This was a triumph. I'm making a note here: Huge success. It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
Amityville: We do what we must because we can. For the good of all of us Except the ones who are gone.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake You just keep on trying till you run out of fear And your spirit lives on and you make yourself proud For the people who are still alive."

The frost demon glanced sideways at Lizzy - ah. She would then pick up where Lizzy had left off.
I'm not even angry. I'm being so sincere right now. Even though you broke my heart and killed me. And tore me to pieces. And threw every piece into a fire. As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you.
Now these feelings of doubt make a beautiful lie But we're out of beta we're releasing on time. So I'm GLaD I got caught think of all the things we learned For the people who are still alive.

Go ahead and leave me. I'll find some way to destroy you all. Maybe you'll find someone else to help you. Maybe Santa Claus- THAT WAS A JOKE. HA HA, FAT CHANCE. Anyway, this cake is great: It's so delicious and moist.
Look at me still talking when there's scaring to do. When I look out there it makes me GLaD I'm not you. I've got treasure to collect, there are humans to be scared All the people who are still alive.
She recognised it as a song a bunch of people had been singing along the school corridors sometime before- and she was surprised to find that she was effortlessly able to keep up with Lizzy and Edel. Mostly, anyway- she adlibbed some parts, but they still fit the melody.
Vieve was surprised to find herself singing along in the first place- perhaps the tune was catchy, but she found herself calmer than she was before.

"I'm learning to scare and I'm still alive."
A line she didn't particularly enjoy, but she sang it anyway.

Bix actually stared at both the ghouls and let out a laugh. It wasn't humorless but a bit disbelieving. He'd played that game!! IT HAD BEEN HIS RINGTONE.
He scratched his head that they would be singing a song that was basically sung by the CAPTOR. Bix crouched in front of the cages and stared at the girls with amused eyes.
"This was a triumph. I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS." He pointed right at Lizzy and Edel as he said HUGE and SUCCESS.
"It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
Awesome Hunter Science:" That part was a bit improvised. "We do what we must because we can. For the good of all of us Except the ones who are dead." Because MONSTERS killed them.
He didn't need to continue. Weren't the hunters the GLADoS of this situation after all? He did always like that crazy robot. Damn while he was on the island he'd missed Portal 2.
Video game thoughts were a good distraction. How weird that they had the same games? But he supposed if they could go to the human world then he shouldn't be surprised.

Glen was just confused. Extremely so. He didn't recognise the song, nor why it was something tobe sung in a situation like this. Perhaps it was some sort of cult thing, some sort of bonding ritual. In any event, he now felt much less like the craziest person in the room.
That was comforting at least.

Lizzy ignored Bix, mainly because she was finally calming down a little and did not want some cocky boil to ruin it.
"While you're dying I'll be still alive."
