She gave him another once over, this one a bit slower before balling up a bit of paper and flinging it at Aisha, "Get out of my office."
Aisha was recovered enough to catch the paper before it hit her between the eyes. She scowled and then huffed then looked over at Kohaku, saw the files then jerked her head before stalking out of the office.
"Spaz cat..." The file clerk murmered.
"I heard that!" Was shrieked from outside but Aisha appeared uninterested in retribution.
She looked up at Kohaku, "I'm glad she has a partner. Watch each other's backs out there." She gave a slight smile.

Kohaku smiled slightly as he walked after Aisha, smirking for a moment as he paused momentarily by the door with his back to the clerk. A slight ting gave away something had happened before he slipped out of the door. A few seconds passed before he heard the boss bellow as the water balloon hit him from behind between the shoulder blades. Earlier that morning, before the sun had risen, Kohaku had set up a little prank with a wire, slingshot, and water balloon. He had suspected it would be a warm day, hence the reason he'd been on the roof. He'd also noticed it had been remarkably dry for the area and had decided to cool the boss off; he'd noticed a magnet on the fridge that had had the Bail shop name on it and the 'boss' with a grumpy look on his face.

She bolted up and ran to her bosses office, pushing the door open. She gaped at Chane, "Wha--?" She stammered.
"Theresa....get me some paper towels, will you?"
She backed up, he hadn't yelled it, in fact, he'd been very polite....the more polite he was, the angrier he was.
"Yessir."
Outside, oblivious to the drama, Aisha continued past her car, "You hungry? We can look over the files while we chow down on something." She threw over her shoulder. Food was guaranteed to make her feel better.

Kohaku nodded slightly as he kept pace with Aisha. "Fine with me; fortunately I have enough money hidden away in different nearby areas that you won't freak out at my appetite," he said wryly.

"HA!" She tossed derisively over her shoulder, but all in good humor. Her people were known for their ability to pack it away....especially after a shift. As it was, they couldn't linger too long at the cafe, they had to get to work or Chane would skin her and use her pelt as a rug in his office, or perhaps have it made into a coat for his wife.
She turned into the cafe and grinned at the smell of cooking food. She just barely waited for Kohaku to enter behind her before she found a booth to sit at and claim some menus for them.
"Hey, Aisha! Who's your friend?" A friendly dark-skinned girl in an apron asked. Her mass of kinky black hair was kept in a symmetrical afro like a dandelion. She used a broad blue head band to give it a bit of shape.
Aisha's ears perked, "Eva! This is my friend Kohaku!"
Evangeline, also known as Eva, smiled broadly, flashing very white teeth, coppery brown eyes twinkling, "What a cool name! It's a pleasure."

Kohaku cocked his head slightly as a slight shudder ran down his spine. Seems one of the jumpers have been here, though how long ago, I'm not sure, he thought, his eyes scanning casually and seemingly lazily around as he allowed a small and shy smile to flicker toward the waitress.

Eva stifled a laugh at Kohaku's reaction and turned her attention back to Aisha, "The usual?"
"Yeah, make it two. Yeah, he looks scrawny but he can tuck it in."
"Aisha! That wasn't nice!" Eva protested Aisha's description of Kohaku, "I'll be back with your orders. Did you want anything to drink while you wait?" She asked Kohaku.

Kohaku shrugged. "Hollow bones, high metabolism... and at times, one hell of a temper," he said wryly, amused. "I'm fine for the moment," he finished, referring to the woman's question. He shifted slightly, noticing a momentary flash of ragged and dirty clothing near the back out of the corner of his eye before he heard a whispered curse. Damn... makes ya wonder how this idiot got away in the first place, he thought idly. He felt his nails lengthen into half inch claws as a momentary flicker of incisor gave away his more predatory instincts.

Eva went very still.
Aisha went still as well, she was reacting to Eva but then she saw Kohaku. Her ears flattened against her head and her pupils expanded.
"Whatever you do, " Eva addressed Kohaku, "Try to take the worst of it outside." Her voice was barely a whisper but she knew he could hear her. With that, she turned and walked away.
"Alright partner, you saw him first. How you wanna tackle it." Aisha asked.

Kohaku smiled faintly. "That won't be too hard to manage," he said just as quietly as Eva had spoken, knowing Aisha would hear him clearly. He shifted slightly as he heard a metallic thump, followed by a second one before the alarm bell began ringing shrilly. Just as I thought, he thought, knowing he had a slightly feral smirk on his face as he fluidly slid to his feet and shot after the bail jumper. He'd seen cornrows and dark brown eyes as well as ragged sneakers and battered clothing that was clearly dirty. Probably raided someone's laundry.... or his own, but it ain't gonna matter when he's in cuffs, he thought, his hand lightly slapping the doorjamb as he darted around the corner not six feet from the jumper, who was running away as fast as he could.

"We'll be back, keep an eye on those!" Aisha yelled as she followed her partner. "Those" referred to the files. She didn't want to hold onto them while she was chasing. Besides, unless Kohaku brought his own, he didn't have any handcuffs, she'd need both her hands free for this one.

Kohaku held up a couple of fingers with the others curled tight to the heel of his palm while his thumb held his ring and pinky down. He shifted his hand slightly to the right as his fingers flicked into a different signal with his middle and ring fingers curled down and the forefinger and pinky up before he pushed his hand forward sharply as if lobbing something underhandedly. A momentary hum followed as the dusty ground dipped into a divot an instant before the guy's foot hit it and caused him to spin around. "s**t, man... I ain't done nothin'!!" he yelled as he swung a heavy pipe towards Kohaku. "Not yet, bub... other than jumping your bail for assault, which may be doubled now," Kohaku replied almost idly as he shifted, ducking under the wild swing as his fingers found and tapped the nerve that rendered his arm useless from the elbow down before he slid his own ankle behind the man's and took him down with a faint smirk. "No offense, bub... but you have timing worse than a stoned rat trying to find its way through a maze of mirrors," he said dryly, joking.

And then Aisha was there, she held up the hand cuffs, "You know the drill, Lenny. Come quietly or I'll let him loose on ya. He packs quite a punch."

Kohaku saw the guy purse his lips as if to spit when the guy shuddered, his eyes darting to and locking on Kohaku's. Kohaku knew from the uncertain fear in the guy's face that his pupils had gone slitted and could sense the killing intent he was releasing. The guy didn't struggle, fortunately. "That has to be the smartest thing you've done recently," he said simply.

Aisha cuffed him then hauled him up easily, "Could you go collect the files off our table, I'll walk him to the car and swing by for you. We'll have to drop him off at the station."
