On a roll, Jack brought up another two apples. His mouth was stretching from grabbing two apples at a time for the second time in a row. Pfft...he's not getting cocky. He presented them to Aku, hoping to calm her down, but she was giving him a pretty bad look.
"Just stay safe, ok?"
He nodded, and Aku turned to the very strange shinx tub bat thing.
"I think it's pretty dangerous, are the Sharpedo hungry? Wouldn't they just eat the apples...?"
( What are the chances of rolling the SAME number twice? O.O )

While Aku was busy talking to a new friend, hopefully, Jack dunked back under. With two Sharpedo in the barrel, Jack was a bit more nervous. Currently they were much more interested in each other, but he couldn't help but feel they were just plotting against him. They wanted him to forget they were there, but no, he wouldn't. He couldn't. How could he ever forget the threat of losing his own face or skin? He just wanted some apples...why couldn't he just have some apples...? He realized there was one in his mouth, and he was running out of air. He quickly pulled out and put it in the pile.

This time, Eon was perhaps a little overconfident as he leaned down into the barrel. No, scratch that, too overconfident for his own good. Just as he had before the Pikachu plunged his head into the water, his fur really quite soaked by now. There was the apple, it was in his line of vision, but he forgot to adjust for the illusion made by the light's refraction on the water. As a result he ended up grazing the apple on the side and coming just short of it. He couldn't try again before it had floated off in the other direction and he was forced to come up for air. Right, next time don't get so cocky. Eon laughed a little, it looked like he'd just gotten very lucky before.Apples: 4 Sharpedo: 0

Aku came back and gave Jack a pat, and told him to keep safe.
"I already told you I would!"
He gave her a smile to let her know he was just kidding around, and she seemed comforted. She stepped back and let him do his thing. Which was apple bobbing? His thing was apple bobbing? How specific...and relatively lame...unless it made Aku, he guessed. His teeth quickly slipped around a good sized apple, and he got out before the Sharpedo could double attack him.

Eon This time Eon tried to be a little more careful in his attempt at snagging another of the juicy apples. He was still just getting started whereas others were very far ahead of him. It was a competition after all, which could explain why they were going so fast, but the Pikachu wasn't that competitive. He just wanted to enjoy himself, so he kept trying in his systematic and steady manner. They said that slow and steady won the race, right? Unfortunately, it wasn't so promising when he tried for another apple that again slipped just out of his mouth's reach. He bit down, hard, and grimaced as his teeth bit down on nothing, rather painfully. Let's try not to do that again, he thought to himself, pulling his head from the water and massaging his jaw. The HamHam couldn't help but wonder how long this was going to last. How long did he have to do this for? Two Pokemon should have been able to sign up, so he could take a break! He was pretty tired, and getting hungry. Of course he was! His mouth was warning his stomach that an apple was coming, and then there was no apple! It had happened 15 times now...He was also getting thirsty and wondered if he could drink the water. Then again, did he want too? How old was the water? Had the Sharpedo peed in it? Knowing he'd eventually get thirsty, and then drink their pee? No! He would not drink their pee! He grabbed an apple and pulled out of the water, adding it to the pile.

Eon The Pokemon in charge seemed to have a twisted sense of humor indeed; so Eon found out when he turned back to his barrel only to be greeted with a set of massive sharp teeth that appeared seemingly out of nowhere. "Oh dear Arceus," he said softly, eyes wide with shock as he stared at the Sharpedo that had suddenly appeared in the barrel. This was certainly unexpected. How was he supposed to go about getting apples with that...that thing in there. The Pikachu swallowed nervously, realizing that he had no choice but to keep trying if he wanted to keep up with the competition. Tentatively he leaned down, about to stick his head back down, when he saw it turn and instantly jumped back a good several inches. That was close...Too close. Apples: 4 Sharpedo: 1

Aku found herself staring at Jack's now white butt as he tipped himself over the edge of the barrel to fish for some more apples with his mouth. Why was she looking at his butt? She quickly looked away, but looked back when she noticed his feet weren't on the ground. Poor Jack! If he knew he'd feel ridiculous! She decided not to tell him, because he'd feel so uncool he'd probably jump into the barrel and wash off her handywork. She didn't want that. Her eyes had lingered back to his butt, but he came back up and twisted around, an apple gleaming in his mouth. She gave an awkward smile and he put it in the ever growing pile.

Eon Yep, this was officially a bit too much risk in a simple game for Eon's preference. It took him quite a bit of courage to get back near the side of the barrel, to look back at the Sharpedo that circled round and round the apples that remained in there. The Pikachu closed his eyes tightly and tried to reassure himself that it would be alright. The people in charge wouldn't put them at risk of real harm, would they? He certainly hoped not. The Electric Type had no wish to be any Sharpedo's lunch, that was certain. Hesitantly, he looked back at the barrel and then swiftly plunged his head in, trying to get an apple as quickly as possible. He was fast, that was true, but his aim was off. He ended up just hitting water, the apple off to the side, and when he opened his eyes to see this he found the Sharpedo headed for him. Panicking, Eon almost pulled his head out then and there but he couldn't. He needed that apple. Replicating his trick from before, he got the apple to float toward him and bit down as hard as he could before pulling his head out just a mere moment before the Sharpedo's teeth bit down on the spot where his ear had been. He dropped the apple in the bucket and panted slightly, clearly unnerved. This was ridiculous. Apples: 5 Sharpedo: 1

Jack's tail swished and wagged as his head went back under the water, mouth once again gaping and trying to find some apples. The Sharpedo seemed to be closer this time though...he could feel his presence a lot more than normal this dunk under...hmm...He quickly found an apple and sunk a tooth in it, hooking and reeling it back over the edge of the barrel.

Eon Keep at it, keep at it, the Pikachu told himself, doggedly turning back to the barrel when he finally regained his breath and his confidence. If he didn't think about it wasn't so bad. All he was doing was sticking his neck out, quite literally. Frowning with a slightly sickened look, Eon tried to push those thoughts about of his mind. With a deep breath, down he went, submerging himself in the water and widening his jaws as he closed in on another apple. He grinned through his bite and pulled his head up, placing the apple in the basket with satisfaction, realizing that he hadn't even been afraid. As he looked back at the bucket though, he saw a set of jaws snap up through the water as if in warning. It seemed it was a bad idea to disregard the Sharpedo.Apples: 6 Sharpedo: 1

Again Jack went under, and again he could feel the Sharpedo getting closer. Could he hear them stirring? It was too muffled to really hear anything...he was just getting paranoid, right? He cracked open an eye, and instead saw an apple and hooked another one! He quickly reeled back over, ecstatic to be on a roll.

Eon Eon faced the pool of water with a look of chagrin, the Sharpedo's warning bite still fresh in his mind. It distressed him a good deal, but there was nothing he could do about. Taking in a breath, he closed his eyes and delved down to the depths of the water which really wasn't that deep, but still. There were the shadows of the apples, he could see them out of the corner of his eye, all he had to do was carefully...There was a sudden motion and Eon was pushed back, reeling, out of the barrel. He put a paw to his head to steady himself and closed his eyes until he stopped seeing stars. It had been that Arc'damned Sharpedo that had hit him, he would have had that apple too. Well... Jack's luck finally seemed to run out when another Sharpedo was released into the tank. He heaved a sigh and took a short break, looking over his pile of apples. Aku came over and gave him a pat on the back.
"Just don't rush yourself, Jack. You had a pace going, try to keep it!"
Aku's touch seemed to re-energize the HamHam, and he nodded his dripping head. It was beyond soaked, if that is even possible.
