Darting backward, the Patrat would puff out her cheeks. Grabbing the whistle hanging around her neck, she'd bring it to her mouth and blow with all the air her lungs could contain. The sound that came out would be a high pitched sound capable of making most people's ears bleed. Her hope was to disorient the Totodile with the sound. He couldn't land a hit if he couldn't keep his balance or tell up from down!

Unfortunately for the Patrat, the Totodile was quick. Despite the loud whistling, it only lasted a couple of seconds before he crunched down on his opponent's leg. Then he watched as it fell backwards, knocked unconscious. Another battle won. The Totodile was looking proud of himself. Maybe he could amount to the Feraligatr he would eventually become!

[21 EXP]The land around them would suddenly shift, the trees would remain, but the ring would disappear. in it's place would be grass, lush and thick; the blades slick with the rain falling overhead. A flicker of blue would appear in the distance, something sliding through the wet grass at astounding speed.
No more then a few seconds warning, and the creature would be upon them. Tail shimmering like a steel sabre, a Dratini would appear, swinging it's one true limb at Yoshi with astounding speed. An Iron Tail meted out before the opponent could even register what was really happening!

As the Totodile watched the surroundings change ever so slightly, his gaze caught sight of his next opponent appearing. He needed to beat this opponent in order to beat his rival's winning streak. Yoshi had a second to see that his opponent was a Dratini when the slithering pokemon was coming straight at him! He had stood there surprised and didn't move much. At the last second, he tried moving towards the left to avoid the attack!

((Same SPD stat Riku. They're supposed to attack at the same time. Though I suppose there's no need to edit, seeing as I won out this time anyway.))

The Totodile would find his reflexes were mere moments too slow, as that serpentine tail bit into his flesh like a freshly sharpened blade. In that same motion, the Dratini would push off and away from his reptilian opponent, darting away and disappearing into the grass. The only sound to even reveal the dragon was still there would be the occasional sound of shifting grass. The tactics were evident, hit and run. He'd chip away at Yoshi until the Totodile could stand no longer.

The Totodile was pushed back by the attack and a small wound appeared on him. It was a cut from that attack from the tail but the wound wasn't deep or anything. Yoshi just stopped for a second and listened. After noting where he could hear the sounds of the grass from where the Dratini was slithering across, he let out a roar. Once again, he was going to try and copy the move he had learned from the Feraligatr. He was still a small dinosaur so moving a little faster then the larger, bulkier crocodile was a little easier. The right claws began to shimmer silver as he aimed to slash through his opponent with Metal Claw!

That would come as the Totodile's mistake. He had to remember that he was not a Feraligatr, nor was this opponent the same slow moving Venomoth he had faced before. Quickly as a serpent and wet grass should move, the Dratini would be long and far gone by the time the Totodile had made his move. He hadn't realized something; the sound of the shifting grass was not a sign of where the Dratini was, but rather where he had been!
The Dragon was too quick, by the time one realized where he was, he'd already darted off to another section of the grass. Yoshi's movements were like those of a slow Omanyte to him, and for it the Totodile would pay the price. Tail shimmering like freshly polished steel, the Dratini would come up behind his opponent quickly and silently as a wraith. Swinging his entire body, the Dratini would strike out at his opponent's back with another Iron Tail!

The Totodile felt he had been taking this battle a little too seriously. If he relaxed a little and had fun, it wouldn't be as bad. Glad that the grass was slippery, he began sliding around. The Totodile didn't really seem to be putting up much of a defense, just was having some fun. The wet grass felt good to him.

In that same instant as the Totodile began sliding down, the Dratini would fly through the air passed it, the strike of his tail missing by a mere fraction of an inch. Flicking the end of his tail, the little dragon would dart back off into the wet grass, disappearing into the green sea of blades just as he had before. Nothing would betray his presence save for the faint rustling caused by his movements.

Yoshi continued sliding on the grass for a couple seconds more. He stretched slightly before looking for his opponent. The grass was moving in a couple of places so he couldn't figure out which direction that the dragon pokemon had taken. This way or that way? Left or right? Oh well. The Totodile began spinning and then dizzily staggered to the left. His claw gleamed silver as he aimed to slash out at his opponent with a Metal Claw! Question was had he taken the right direction and was this where the pokemon was located?

Well it was certainly a place where the Dratini had been, sad to say for Yoshi it apparently wasn't where he was any longer! Darting through the grass like some sort of flexible on-land torpedo, the Dratini was shooting around the battlefield at high speed. Once more the small dragon would find itself rapidly coming up behind the Totodile, tail shimmering silver, he'd once more swing the limb in an attempt to strike the Totodile down with Iron Tail!

Yoshi stopped for a second, trying to shake off the dizziness. Whew, he had spun a little bit longer then he was supposed to. Now he saw three of the Dratini seeming to charge at him from three different directions. After shaking his head vigorously, his eye sight went back to normal. No, there was really only one charging at him. The Totodile's claw began to gleam silver as he aimed to meet the Iron Tail attack with his own Metal Claw! He let out a roar mimicking the Feraligatr he had seen. Dragon versus Crocodile. Who would win?!

Yoshi looked triumphant, jumping up and down happily. He laughed and then flashed a smirk over to his rival who was still next to Riku who stood watching. He had beaten the Numel because this was his third victory. But the pokemon hadn't leveled up and Huojin had. No, he would have to keep going until that happened. The greenish light healed him and then he was ready for whatever emerged from the darkness next.

Whether it was aware or not, it would seem the hand of fate had a rather apparent sense of humor as Yoshi's next opponent stepped upon the field. The darkness would disappear, giving way to a series of large carnival rides, food and game stalls lining the single street. Standing with a set of shimmering, multi-lensed eyes just a few feet away from the Totodile...was a Venonat. An almost ironic twist of fate. Round two had begun, but instead of a battle of giants, this time it would be a battle between their weakest stage!
Large feet kicking off the ground, the Venonat would take off like a shot. Vaulting for the Totodile, his fangs seemed to gleam. He'd take more then a couple dozen nibbles out of the little gator and leave behind some serious Bug Bite!
