Dorian Flyte
Noir
Garage
Mood: Curious/slightly irritated, but not her fault.

Dorian closed his eyes as he thought for a moment. Several poitns of interest swam in his head, and his mind connected a few of them with what he was doing with his partners. It was obvious what they investigated ruffled some feathers, and someone wanted nothing of it. So the simple approach was to keep going. Submitted a police report and claims under an alias. He also had a cop friend keep his face and name out of this but how long that will last could be only a matter of time. It was the only mistake of coming to this Academy he made. His injuries were gone, no evidence that he was present when a bomb went off. And two slugs in a corpse traceable to his gun weren't going to help the view of things. He opened his eyes and reached down near the steering column to pop his trunk open. In his peripherals he caught site of a girl's (Daylia's) red hair and his eyes shifted on her face before going up and down. He hadn't noticed her earlier but the look in her eyes kinda told him she might have been there for awhile. User Image

Without missing a beat, he got up out of the car, and cease to look at her as he made his way to the front and opened the hood of the car. The now open engine compartment filled the garage with more noise, and his right hand fingers moved to the top of the large air filter saucer to undo the small nut that was holding the entirety of it to the Carburetor. He removed it all exposing the barrels of the air intake, and moved the loose parts over, and set them ontop of a mass of tubes and wires, safely away from the moving parts of the engine and out of the way. It was getting hot. But Dorian worked quickly to turn some small pin and adjust the something which made the sound more consistent and stronger. It was running rich to him. with it now corrected, he moved his hand to something else and it was quick and instant the engine cut off. He slowly started replacing the air filter and secure it. A slight Irritation he had ebbing away.
" It's rude to stare you know..."
His voice was crisp and solid, directed at girl (Daylia), It was also calm. He was a people person when he wanted to be. Even when he didn't he didn't go around making enemies. After getting blown halfway to hell though, being social was the last thing on his mind. He closed the hood and let it slam shut before he went back to the driver's seat to retrieve his keys and close the door. He then looked back at the girl (Daylia), his hawkish eyes studious. Obviously she was younger, then him atleast. He quickly built register of her in his mind and ticked off what he could gather from her. All the while the judgement and analyzing he was doing stayed out of his eyes. User Image

"Names Dorian, Flyte... Bet you know my half sister Tara. Anything she's told you about me is probably false. "

He tilted his head as he pocketed his keys, then shifted his weight onto his left leg. His face showed curiosity, but a lack of interest. Like he was trying to solve the puzzle that is the girl in front of him.

Final Thoughts This is kinda random, but a school, socializing is inevitable.

Aria smiled as he agreed. As she made her way closer she began to notice just how attractive Christian was. Not sexually appealing, or at least she didn't think so. He had very defined facial features, and incredibly nice hair. She was sure most girls back home would probably fight over him. He was one of the guys who would be incredibly popular at her old school, and he could easily get into many of the girls pants... Although, honestly half the girls at her old school were sleazy sluts that would hop into bed with anyone half decent. She was sure he probably had a great body, which made her realize something. Was everyone going to this school model-worthy?

She hadn't really realized it until then, but a good portion of the school was very good looking. Well, that was probably because they all took very good care of themselves physically and mentally because they were all hoping to be sent out on missions and promoted.

The thoughts went through her head in a matter of seconds, and then she was in front of him. "Promise it won't hurt a bit." She put her left hand gently on his shoulder, just in case the reason he had been 'down' for the last month was for an injury. She imagined her Aura and it came to life, flaring up all around her body before just around her hand.

Almost instantly Christian's Aura came to life. Compared to the brightness of her pink his dark blue seemed almost ominous, but it was a very nice colour. She smiled and looked at him, her green eyes reflecting the blue of his Aura with a hint of the pink of her own. "It's pretty." Her eyes flickered to the small points in his Aura that where a bit denser, obviously places on his body that were currently undergoing what she would call maintenance. "I see you're not yet fully healed..." Her eyes met his again and she pointed at the spots with her free hand. "This is what I call the maintenance spots. It's points in your body where your body is repairing cells. It could be from a cut, bruise, infection, or even just for simple things like growth spurts." She shrugged, "Your Aura is a part of your life force, and it plays it's own part in your body. Scientists say your body burns calories and other stuff for simple tasks and whatnot, but your Aura also comes into play... Or at least that's what I have noticed."

With that she took a few rhythmic steps back, spinning around quickly causing her loose red cardigan to twirl out with her. She hadn't really noticed that she was wearing her team's colours. "So, now that we've heard all about my mutation, you're up Quinnie! And don't get too comfy mister, you're up to bat next." She smiled and looked at the two. Of course she knew some aspects of Quinn's abilities, but it still fascinated her. Oddly enough, Aria was never afraid to touch Quinn like other's would be. She knew enough about the girl to know she had it under control, and she always had her Aura as a last ditch shield against the acid.

Objectable Obelisk Concurs: Christian's Aura colour was talked out between the two of us, so I did that with permission ;]

Oh the body swayed to music
Hearing only one root note xxxxxxxx
Planted firmly on the ground

Lend to my ear a clear and a deafening sound

Daylia perked her brow as the man (Dorian) got out of his car, he had obviously seen her, but neglected to say anything. Perhaps he just wasn’t a social person, or maybe Daylia was creeping him about by just staring at him. She gave a shrug as she dropped her arms back to her sides before turning slightly idly wondering if she should just head back to bed. He was tinkering with this and that, something that she wouldn’t understand of course, but it had changed the sound of the engine. She shook her head returning to her previous thoughts as she took a step towards the exit.

The engine cut off suddenly, causing her to look back. Before she moved again she heard the man saying something to her that made her turn back, her brow rising again.
"Oh yeah?" She asked, crossing her arms over her chest once again. "My bad. You’re just so aesthetically pleasing I couldn’t help myself." She couldn’t help but roll her eyes. "I was trying to match a face to a name, then lost track of what I was looking at.” She explained. It happened to everyone, didn’t it? Though it wasn’t like she actually cared what he thought about her. If he didn’t like it, or like her for it, then so be it.

Daylia was surprised to hear Dorian give his name. Apparently he wasn’t too irritated with her, and from the look on his face, he was sizing her up. She gave a shrug at the mention of Tara.
"Oh yeah, she told me you liked to dress in drag and do the hula." She smiled as she said it before throwing up her hands, palms towards him. "Only kidding of course. I’ve only met her in passing I do believe, not really long enough to carry on a conversation." It was true, she had seen her a few times, and the woman seemed nice enough, at least not openly putting it out there that she hated Daylia for simply being an Omega. Hell, there were only a few Alpha’s that she had even had a decent conversation with. Come to think of it, that went for a lot of the Omega’s too.

"Daylia Astrallo." She said as an afterthought. It was only polite to give her name in return, especially after staring at the guy. "Pleasure to meet ya." She said with a slight nod. She was unsure of what else to say, causing a pause in the current conversation, which wasn’t much of a conversation to begin with. "You new to one of the teams?" She asked finally.

Alpha - Lake - No one can skip stones like me...

User Image

His nod towards the grounds next to him, an invitation to sit, brought a smile to her lips, the brunette pushing her sunglasses back onto her head as she slid onto the ground next to him. She didn't have to say anything else for Leo to start opening up to her, Tara listening in silence as she picked a rock up from the ground next to her, absentmindedly turning it around in her fingers. His worries about his involvement with the riot, taking all the blame for himself, were understandable - didn't mean that she thought they were right. Tossing the rock up and down in her hand as she turned her eyes towards the lake, the girl shifting around in her seat slightly so that she could more easily throw it while not revealing anything too important in her blue and white sundress. It might seem like she was not paying attention to a single thing that came out of his mouth, but the truth of the matter was that she was listening intently to every word. The only time her gaze really turned towards him was when he said flat out that he might have to leave, her expression intentionally neutral, though her eyebrows raised slightly at the gravity of what he was really getting at. A moment of silence passed between them, the brunette throwing the rock towards the surface of the water, using her powers to make it start skipping circles around the surface of the lake as he asked what she had to say about the whole thing.

"What do I think? You want the truth?" Of course, she was going to give him the truth either way - she knew that of all of the people at the Academy, he was the one that would be able to take it the best. He seemed strong to her, and so she wasn't going to sugar-coat things and coddle him like he was an emotionally unstable invalid on the verge of a nervous breakdown. He asked - he'd have to deal with what she had to say.

"Yea, you screwed up. But seriously, this isn't entirely your fault - we might not like to talk about it, but things have been brewing for a long time…it's human nature. And in terms of the Academy, specifically, we are a group of teenagers with mutant powers - accidents and problems are bound to happen. And I think the administration around here, and Bella, for that matter, understand that - it's why we spend so much time learning to control what we do and putting it to good use. So you shouldn't blame yourself for starting the riot - things would have been a lot worse had we not been there." Her hand dropped down to her side once more, the rock making one last skip on the surface of the water before it plopped out of sight, the brunette tossing her hair over her shoulders as she shifted to her knees, scooting around so she was facing him.

"Anyways, all that aside, I think that if you were serious about this whole leaving thing, you wouldn't be sitting here, whining about it to me. You'd be gone already. We don't need you to protect us, Leo. Between the mansion defenses and our team experiences, we could put up one hell of a fight if someone were to show up, looking for trouble. If you leave, it isn't for us, it'd be for yourself. So the reality of this situation is that while you genuinely want to know what I think, everything I just said is a load of crap. It doesn't mean anything - you have to decide if you have enough reasons to stay, or if you can sever ties and get the heck out of dodge to do whatever it is you think you have to do."

Her shoulders rose and fell in a small shrug, giving him a half smile. True, it was blunt, maybe even harsh to some people, but hopefully he would see that she wouldn't be so frank with him if she didn't respect him. She'd be sad to see him go - as would a lot of people around here - but she could understand how he was feeling. Those were not easy feelings to deal with on your own, even if that is the only way to really cope with them. He'd either take what she had to say to heart, and dig deeper into himself to find the answers, or he would think she was a b***h and never want to talk to her again. She'd gotten both reactions in situations like this before - it wasn't enough to prevent her from speaking her mind.

"Besides, how could you skip out on us right before Prom? I have a sneaking suspicion you'd clean up nicely in a tux - how can you deny the ladies of Xavier's Academy that sight? Heartless b*****d," she joked, breaking into a smile in her attempt to lighten the mood a little bit. Her arms crossed over her chest lightly as she turned to face the lake once more, slipping back onto her behind and laying back on the grass. She'd probably get some grass stains, but it was nothing a little oxy-clean couldn't fix. It was too nice a day outside not to enjoy nature and the company.

"OHHHHH LET'S GO! FIRST PLACE AGAIN BITCHES!" The playboy cried to heavens, relaxing in a recliner chair wearing shades, a Nike T-shirt, some trackpants and bunny slippers. Living the good life...sort of.

Dimitri Otengam, also known as the Alpha Playboy was free to be a loud and as hype as he could be in the game room, occupying the xbox 360 along with the headset and a game called Split/Second. It was a racing game that took the players and turned them into a contestant for a reality show called Split Second that involved racing rather than being cooped up in a house, sex and fighting. The racing occured in numerous places around the world, with the only tweak being that the places were in were designed and rigged to blow up at various points. There were times in that game where Dimitri felt that the "s**t just got real" meter was constantly going over the limit just like s**t talking was on xbox live. After the race was over they had a 30 sec break before they went back into the room, where the trash talking ranged from all sorts of subjects, like Dimitri's mother, someone being someone's b***h, sports, etc. "Haha that's what happens when you try to take the throne of Otengam...you get ******** bodied hahaha." he bragged while picking the Ryback Firestorm, a car that had slightly above stats in speed and mass, but had a 10/10 in drifting. On paper it looked like an okay car but online racing proved that it was one of the best. Once everyone picked their cars and time was up, they were playing on the track called Power Plant, where the power plants were rigged to blow, along with the majority of the track.

The Playboy was in the zone, and didn't let anything else get in his head to make him focus on something other than xbox, like the result of the mall massacre. Out of the ones responsible, Magneto didn't seem to get the memo saying to lay low. Instead he was making himself known(as if he didn't in NYC). Bodies were being found like they were in horror movies and just because the X Men didn't know the proper rules to shop, now nobody could go to the mall. Luckily the children that Dimtiri snagged up when it happened managed to receive testing for radiation and was cleared to go thanks to the Playboy. Another good deed scratched off the list and another thing to brag to the women who wanted a man with a good heart. He especially didn't think about some bullshit receipt either, or as others were calling it around the mansion, the mutant registration act. The playboy wasn't found of the news but he ended up having to check it after hearing about it so much from his friends and those in the mansion such as Cyclops and Emma. Dimitri was one of the people that didn't have to think twice about his result when he would show up, if he didn't want to break the law. He would end up not being released, simple as that because magma may have had the pigment of orange soda, but it packed a more...acidic taste.

Fortunately, Emma/Scott had their backs, advising to stay away from giving up one's freedom so soon; just live like they usually do but with a chaperone and their communication device.Dimitri told the male teachers where he was going most of the time; telling Emma his business at night was off limits. But the most event that he was concerned with was finding his sister along with the ones that were responsible. After the 2 hour danger room session he had with Bobby Drake as the watcher the day of the mall massacre just to see if he still had it, and to have some fun, his friend Warp paid him a visit that night whenever they had private time .After they caught up, they got down to business.

"Did you find anything?"

"About Nicole, no.....but I do have something else... turns out that one of the people who were there during that night, is going to be at a fight taking place around the next 2 or so months I believe."

"Is he fighting?"

"No, but I think he's watching, which means if he was there during your graduation, he may pull off what he did back then...but silently of course..either way, I advise you to up your training, since things may get nasty there."

"Training...yeah..gotcha."

"....You've been slacking up haven't you?"

"No......yes."

Since that night, Dimitri got out of his slacking routine and has been training in the danger room session almost everyday in addition to working out in the weight room, pushing himself to his limits and beyond. All for his chance to get answers and payback for what happened that night after all this time. That didn't mean the partying and women stop. As usual, the Playboy kept his sessions exlusively to himself meaning the only one that was with him was an adult such as Bobby Drake who was watching from above and calling the shots. Other than that Dimitri was solo. Luckily their personalities were easy to click otherwise he may not have gotten away with 1-2 hour danger room sessions. The only problem was the amount of clothes Dimitri went through because of his powers. Dimitri also got another communication device with connection to Warp, so they could keep in touch more. It worked the same as the mansion's only it was for the wrist. Now Dimitri didn't have to worry about him teleporting in on him during sex.

"Ya'll bitches ready!?" Dimitri asked his victims over Xbox Live, ready to defend the throne of Otengam.

(yay intro. let me know if edit)

Reggie watched Holly jump in shock at her voice, grey eyes sparking with their perpetual amusement. Reggie wasn't laughing at her, of course, but she chuckled lightly as she sat next to the girl, "Sorry if I scared you. I have a habit of sneaking up on people." She brushed her hands through her slightly metallic hair and chuckled again, "Or you were so engrossed in your art there that you just hadn't noticed." Reggie could understand if that was the case. The short haired girl often got so lost in her running or drawing that she hardly noticed anyone else around her. And sometimes it was better that way, kept things from getting too annoying. It was funny how sometimes she didn't really like human, or mutant, contact all that much.

Absentmindedly she examined the girl next to her, taking into account her small stature and hair similar to Reggie's own. You know, except hers was actually hair and Reggie's was like Christmas tin. For the moment. She couldn't help but wonder again when the hell her power was going to fade off and leave her relatively normal. Green eyes framed by a small face gave the girl an almost pixie like look. Or, at least that's what Reggie thought. She smirked at the girl's comment, "Frustrating? Heh, that's an understatement for me. I'm usually pretty patient, but origami tends to get the best of me."

She looked at the paper that Holly pulled out of her bag and shrugged, "Hell, why not? Can't hurt anything to try again. My name's Reggie, by the way." She took the paper that the girl handed her gingerly, being careful not to touch Holly. She didn't want to scare her with the aluminum feel of her skin. Even though she was a mutant too, some of them got disturbed by physical mutations, however temporary. She examined the paper for a long moment, then looked at Holly with a sheepish chuckle, "So, what's the first step?" She had to admit, she had no clue what she was doing. Which didn't happen very often, because she usually knew exactly what she was doing in everything. Except paper folding, go figure.

My hearts longs for the ability to talk!

❃❂❁❀✿✾✽✼✻✺✹✸✷ ✶✵✴❄❅❆❇❈❉❊❋❖❤❥❦❧ ☀

“Yes Mother. I am fine.” She sat on her bed, her fingers playing with the phone cord. “They cleared me over two weeks ago. They only want me to check back up every once in a while.” Unfortunately, Alex wasn’t as lucky as some of the students. When she had arrived at the infirmary, they had found she had been radiated. Not enough to be lethal, but not enough to be taken lightly either. Thus, the French girl was ordered to stay in the infirmary until she was cleared. She could still remember the nausea and the overall icky feeling she felt the entire time she went through radiation sickness. Admittedly, Alex knew that her weak immune system had probably not helped things. Luckily, due to them keeping her in quarantine, she hadn’t picked up any other illnesses in her weakened state. Thus, once the two weeks had passed, they had given her the all clear to leave the infirmary. This had been a welcome relief for the eighteen year old that only wanted some time to think over what had happened. Then again, just being well again had been a welcome relief.

For the next two weeks, Alex had played catch up with her homework. Some of the classes weren’t ones she could catch up on, such as Self-defense and Culinary Arts. At least, not in the sense of making up written tests and homework. However, with time, Alex had slowly caught up with her homework. After all, there wasn’t much for her to do. She could have gone out and socialized with the others. But, other than moving into her new room, Alex didn’t have much else she had to do. But now, with her mother’s voice coming through the phone again, she found herself focusing on the present once more. “I know Mother, but I need to stay here. If I cannot control my powers, then I will lose my position as Heir to the Agnes Fortune. And I just…cannot allow that to happen, no matter the cost I have to pay to stay here.” The recently passed Act was something that should be on her mind. However, the more she tried to think about it, the more her heart felt heavy and her spirits weighted down. Thus, Alex did her best to push it to the back of her mind.

However, that didn’t mean she let herself be deluded either. Thus, Alex couldn’t find herself focusing on Prom. She wanted to be able to let her mind surround herself with the social event. But, as the events from last month replayed in her mind, Alex realized she had lost something. While she wasn’t as damaged as mentally as the others might be, the Sensory Adaptor had lost an innocence she had before the incident. Her innocence to the cruelty of the world was gone. Now, Alex couldn’t help but worry about when the next time she would have to face such a challenge would occur. Admittedly, the longer the time of relaxation lingered, the more anxious she felt. She knew this couldn’t last and a part of her wished it would end earlier whether than later. That way, Alex wouldn’t become comfortable, and wouldn’t become upset when it all came to an end once more. But, as her mother’s worried voice reached her ears, Alex’s snapped herself from her thoughts. I need to stop doing that while on the phone with my mother…or else she will worry even more!

A small sigh left her lips as her mother continued to try and convince her to come home. However, the same thing she had said before came to mind. Alex had come here to control her powers so her family would not find a way to disown her. In a way, her coming here had been a part of an unspoken deal. With her cooperation of finding a school and then going to that school to train her powers, her family would not disown her and make her loose her birthright. But, Alex knew her family was looking for any way to get that fortune out from her hands. Sometimes, she wished they just would. However, that would leave her and her mother penniless. Even though her mother would say she wouldn’t care as long as they were both safe and sound, Alex knew better. Her mother, just like herself, had been raised in a life of luxury. To suddenly go from that to being homeless would be divesting. Thus, Alex looked towards the window as her mouth formed more words. “Mother…I know you are concerned but…I will be fine. If things do get too bad here, I promise I will come back to France. But, for now, I have to trust that the people in this school will not allow us to be treated like dogs.”

Soon, they exchanged the pleasantry goodbyes and she hung up the phone. Coincidentally, it was at this point that she heard the Headmistress’s telepathic message. The corners of her lips tugged into a warm smile. I knew they would come through for us. But, with that out of the way, what was she going to do now? Blue green orbs continued to look towards the door as she heard the door unlock. Briefly, they looked over to see her roommate, Lillian. The two hadn’t talked a lot since the move. Alex had been either studying or going to get checked up by the doctors, while Lillian had been doing her own thing. Thus, Alex didn’t know what to say as her gaze went back towards the window. After all, it was rude to peak. She didn’t know how long it had been before Lillian came out of the bathroom. Out of curiosity, the sensory adaptor looked over to see what Lillian was wearing. Admittedly, she was not surprised it was nothing like her own outfit. A simple navy dress and navy blue sandals that contrasted with her white blonde hair and pale skin. The dress reached to her knees as her hands fiddled with the thick stripes that rested against her shoulders.

Wonder what I should do today? I got caught up with my homework for the most part yesterday. And I do not believe I need to be checked up any time soon. She heard the door shut and looked towards it, an idea forming in her head. Wait a minute…maybe I should try to get to know my roommate now? But, does she even want to get to know me? However, her mind had already been made up. Thus, quickly, she grabbed her communicator and put it on before leaving the room. On her way to try to find her roommate, Alex found herself getting a tad bit hungry. However, she shook her head and brushed the urge to get something to eat back. That can be ignored for now. Though, images of food kept going through her mind as she walked outside.

The clear weather was nice to have around. Not only was it more pleasant, it also made her chances of getting sick a little less. After all, if there were no opportunities of getting soaking wet, then there would be no chance of getting sick by that means. Oh! My brain is so scatter brained right now! She shook her head, finding it harder to focus on anything due to her empty stomach. It even made her a bit out of it as Alex started to walk into the hedge maze. She didn’t know how long she walked through the confusing pathways before finding herself at the center. Her head moved back and forth, eyes darting around in an almost panicked fashion. Oh dear! I was not paying attention! How did I even get here?

Luckily, Alex saw someone lying on one of the benches. Coincidentally, it happened to be the roommate she was looking for at the start of her journey. Miss Lillian! I am sorry to disturb you…But…I need your help.” She stood nearby Lillian, twiddling her thumbs as she looked down at the ground. “I was not paying attention when I came in here…and I do not think I can find my way back out without assistance…Will you please help me get out of here?” Her fingers crossed slightly in hopes that her roommate would be kind enough to help her stupid self.

---------------------¦It was pretty much a fifty-fifty chance when it came down to determining whether or not someone was an Alpha or an Omega. Granted, there were other students hustling about the institute, but students were the people Quinn had a general knowledge of. She knew their names and could easily match them to faces, but when it came down to stepping fully into this new stage in life, the people she didn't know were categorized as either an Alpha or an Omega. So, when Christian revealed the team he'd been placed on, Quinn wasn't too terribly surprised to share such a similarity. It was either one or the other, after all, and in this case the surprise she did feel was rather pleasant. Not only had she met someone new, but they would also be working together. That would make it a lot easier to become friends, right?

At the thought of friendship, Quinn's mind began it's irrational cycle of her trivial fears and cautions. It usually took a lot of will power and positive thinking to cease that mental process, but Christian's mention of seeing her own mutation was enough to distract her. Thankfully, when it came to displaying her ability with purpose, she had little to no reserve. There had been plenty of times during training and other evaluations in which she had to use her powers, it's not like she hid them from the Academy life. Unfortunately though, Quinn's confidence in keeping everything in check was what often times brought her down. Since coming to the Institute, she'd learned not to be so ashamed of who she was and what she could do. Learning just takes time, and eventually, the girl intended to get it all right.

"If you insist.." Quinn rocked back on her heels softly, a light chuckle lacing her voice as she responded to Christian. It was more of a figure of speech, really, since the male hadn't actually pressed the subject. Rather, the trio moved onto the next - Christian's aura.

He seemed a little apprehensive at first, which could only leave Quinn to wonder why. It wasn't very often she'd seen Aria reveal any terrible auras. In fact, she couldn't recall a time where she'd been around to witness one. Naturally, Quinn was aware that Christian - that everyone - held their own secrets, and secrets weren't things she ever pressed about. Everyone here would most certainly know how being pressed for information felt and prodding at the male to satisfy her curiosity wasn't something Quinn was about to do. People were entitled to having their feelings and thoughts kept safely inside, she respected that wholeheartedly. Needless to say, though, she was still rather interested when he ended up agreeing to Aria's offer.

Silently, she'd watch as the redhead let her hand rest atop Christian's shoulder. It was enticing to watch as the bright pink hue would elicit a dark blue aura to surround the male's figure. Quinn's eyes would look the two up and down, following along as Aria pointed out certain spots on his body, following them up with an explanation. It was always nice to pick up on aura tidbits. Learning a little about her best friend's abilities seemed a lot more beneficial than knowing nothing about it at all.

"Alright.. just.. careful not to touch, okay?" Quinn warned, mostly at Christian since he'd yet to see her mutation before. To emphasize, she took a step away from the two and pulled off the cropped leather jacket that had been slung around her shoulders. The dress she wore beneath was beige and strapless; simple and clean. It revealed enough of her arms so that as she held them out spread eagle at her sides, a light gloss could be seen upon her skin, "Acid creation and manipulation. Watch this." Quinn looked down and nudged the bag that had been dropped by her feet with the toe of her boot. The satchel would spill sideways, a couple of pencils falling from it's containment.

Quinn would reach down and pick up one of the pencils, moving to hold it up for Aria and Christian to see. Within moments, the writing utensil's entire structure would appear to melt, starting with the eraser - the end in which she held it by. Eventually, the granite, wood and rubber would be eaten away entirely, whatever charcoal remains it produced being left to float to the ground, "It's, uh.. handy, I suppose. There aren't very many things that can physically hold me back." Mentally is a completely different story, of course. Quinn's grey eyes would shift between the pair before her once again, awaiting their reactions. ¦

Varis watched as people filed in and then out as he played listening to Tsukino sing and Bella's cello playing what started as random chords ended up becoming a decent combination. As everyone but himself and Tsukino left the room he shrugged and kept playing he wasn't sure of his schedule yet though he knew he would have to check it before to much longer he was more worried about his team-mates after their last mission, he knew most were injured. As Bella's cello left the combination he looked at her and smiled nodding in response to her comment.

Sure hope it don’t”, Christian said dryly to Aria as she took another step or two forwards. He did tense up slightly when she stretcher her arm out and placed her hand upon his shoulder. Mentally, he thanked the God’s it was his uninjured arm; his left was still sore after getting slapped by his former instructor. His personal tensions rose when Aria let her aura flare up, almost blinding him for a brief spell. Though, the moment he closed his eyes, he swore he saw a dark blue light that made seeing anything that much easier.

It seemed that his own aura was the aforementioned dark blue light, something he took note of as he slowly opened his eyes, taking care to soak in the sights. Odd that his aura was the same color as whatever energy he discharged, but he’d ponder upon that another time. If anything, now he was getting that ‘test’ he wanted to try a few moments ago. It seemed though that he couldn’t absorb anything from the exposed auras. Christian did have a small feeling that was the case, but finding out firsthand was almost necessary.

Thanks,” he said to Aria in response to her comment about his own aura. He was honestly apprehensive about what his aura looked like and to hear someone comment positively about it eased his tensions slightly. Without uttering another word, he watched Aria’s eyes as they darted to and fro over what she called maintenance points located over his body. His own gaze shifted over to Quinn momentarily as he noticed she too was looking over these points as well. Christian’s eyes snapped back over to Aria as he watched her point her finger at the spot located on his chest, noting that the blue at that point was darker… richer. Same with the point on his left wrist. She had confirmed to the group what he had found out earlier in the day; he was not one hundred percent, at least not physically. He sighed softly as he watched the dark blue light disappear when the redhead stepped away from him and deftly asked about Quinn and his own abilities.

Christian could only chuckle a bit at the fact that he was not ‘off the hook’ as Aria had so put it. But his abilities were not something that could be displayed at will; he needed a source. That and he was slightly hesitant to try and absorb anything energywise. After the debacle in the DR, he was not sure if his body could handle the strain. His thoughts were distracted from that line when Quinn stepped up to the plate to put her own abilities on display. With that, the shorter female gave him a quick caution about not touching her. He was quite puzzled when she said that, raising a solitary eyebrow at the remark as he watched her remove her jacket, a sheen of what appeared to be sweat covering the exposed skin of her arms. When she had stated the nature of her talents and told them to ‘watch this’, he did so intently. He watched as she kicked over her bag, dumping a few pencils on the ground, one of which she picked up almost immediately. It did not take but a moment or two for the writing utensil to start smoldering before it outright disintegrated between Quinn’s fingertips.

I’d sure as Heck say that’s handy,” Christian said, remember what Quinn said previously about not touching her. It made perfect sense to him now, especially after seeing her in action. “I’d say it’s more useful than my own, but…,” Christian’s words trailed off for a split second before continuing, “One thing I’ve learned since bein’ here is that everyone of us here is useful in their own right. At least I’d like to think so.” He wondered to himself if he’d actually be able to show both Aria and Quinn what his abilities were considering they were both gracious enough to extend him that courtesy. While he pondered slightly, he let a grin fall over his face, hoping that his reaction to Quinn’s abilities wasn’t off-putting to the lass.

I know it’s my turn,” Christian said, his gaze shifting again between both of the girls. “But I’m not sure if…” His attentions were distracted by the loud snaps of… bubblegum? Turning himself around slightly, he noticed one of the Institute’s teachers wandering around outside in the garden’s as well. “Hey! Jubilee, toss some fireworks this way!

Yea. Sure. Whatever,” the mutant mallrat said between snaps of her gum. Without warning, she threw her hand to the side, sending a couple of plasma firework orbs at Christian while she walked away. The fireworks came careening towards the Northwesterner as he turned his shoulder out to face the oncoming assault head-on. Without thinking, he held out his left hand and let both the plasma bolts crash into his skin… the purples and pinks of the fireworks melting directly into his flesh and disappearing almost in an instant.

Energy absorption,,” Christian said as he turned around to face both the girls again, a small grimace of discomfort washing from his face. He made the wrong choice of using his left hand to absorb the shots. “And redirection.” As he said that, he balled his right hand into a fist and let a dark blue energy encase it. He was surprised that the only pain he felt was at the point of impact when Jubilee’s minute blast jarred his wrist slightly. It didn’t do anything else other than give him a quick burst of energy, waking him up just a slight bit more. Even through the discomfort that was slowly ebbing away, he fixed yet another grin upon his face as he let the blue energy that surrounded his fist disappear completely. “So… was that good enough for show and tell?” Christian put his hands back into his jeans pockets, grinning like a fox, hoping that tiny display showed the girls what they wanted to see.

Alpha: Leaving the hedge maze...

User ImageLillian had laid there for a while doing her best to clear her mind. Times like these she missed her wolf Anuki. But she had to leave him behind at her estate in Canada. One reason was it had gotten pretty dangerous at the academy. And she didn't want him involved like he had been during the Avalon incident. Though she had to admit that his presence there in especially in that much larger form ,thanks to the magic of the place, really helped her keep her head while there. And her second reason was his pack back home needed him. Anuki had become a father during her last extended stay at home. There was no way Lillian was going to separate him from his mate and pups. As much as she wanted him with her she just couldn't take him from his family. It wasn't like she would never see him again. Nope all she would have to do would be to return to the estate in Canada she had no doubts Anuki along with his new family would be there to greet her.

The thought of her long time friend and family member brought a smile to her face. Yes Lillian considered the wolf family. No she wasn't a feral mutant that had a connection with animals through their mutation. No it was from being by one another side for so long knowing they were never alone while together.

She pulled her self from her reflective thoughts before she was drug back into the painful memories that she just couldn't deal with at the moment. So at that moment she decided it was time to go see Cissa. It was time to crush that stupid childish fear all together.

Before she could even begin to sit up she was approached by someone. Lillian silently cursed herself for becoming so oblivious to her surroundings. In the lab was one thing, there it helped focus on the task at hand. Out here even on the grounds of Xavier's it was dangerous to let ones guard down that much. Thanks to it she was sure her the person she now knew to be her room mate probably noticed the small jump.

Quickly regaining composure Lillian smiled at her room mate Alex after the quick request for help. She and her room mate had barely talked since Alex had been moved into her room. While she didn't mind the room mate Lillian wouldn't deny enjoying previously having the place to herself. Plus it was nice being able to offer a retreat to Cissa if she needed a place to hide inside the mansion if she wanted away from people. Sure people knew the Omega leader and the Copycat were friends. But people would never go looking for her in Lillian's room for some reason.

"It's nor problem. I was actually just about to be on my way out any way." Lillian said swinging her legs and gracefully getting to her feet.

It seemed her room mate was a fairly shy person, Lillian thought to herself since Alex looked to the ground and not her face. Surely Lillian wasn't that intimidating. Maybe while being influenced by Cissa's personality after absorbing her powers. But when she was plain old brainy Lillian there was no way. Could that be why not long after being assigned to room with someone it wasn't long after they took their leave of the mansion. Another thought to contemplate. Was she Lillian such an intimidating figure that she simply scared her previous room mates away. Or was she simply cursed and her inability to touch without harming others expanding into some how not being able to keep a room mate. If so she wondered how long it would be before Alex decided to make her leave from the school. It wasn't that Lillian wanted her to leave. No she didn't even know Alex enough to make such a conclusion. It was simply a mere thought went along with the curse to never keep a room mate idea.

Lillian smiled at Alex before speaking. "Follow me Alex. We will be out of this maze in no time." It was a simple maze sure it would get changed from time to time. Either after being damaged by the powers of a student or from an attack. Sometimes it was from one of the plant manipulators deciding to practice their ability. Sometimes it changed because Bobby Drake even though a teacher still ever the prankster would convince said earlier mentioned plant users to change it. To him he wanted to see how many would get lost in it. Even so it never changed often enough that one couldn't keep it's pathways through committed to memory. But she wouldn't question her room mate about it. Not everyone even entered the maze since you didn't mind the longer walk around to get to the pathway towards the stables.

True to her word it didn't take long at all to wind ones way out of the maze. She lead them out on the side closest to the mansion and the main part of the gardens.

Upon exiting the maze Lillian spotted the blonde Omega leader walking through the gardens. She had been tempted to walk over so she could talk to Cissa. and was a moment away from calling out. That is till she saw Aren now walking with Cissa. Lillian smiled and shook her head slightly. She thought it best not to interrupt them, even if the former Omega knew nothing was currently going on between the two if Cissa had the current way she wanted it. And as much as she may of wanted to run over and talk to Cissa it would of been rude to the girl standing beside her. Lillian could always find Cissa again later or she would find her. Either way worked for Lillian

"So were you just out taking a walk to get a break from the school work?" Lillian asked that was when she remembered something from earlier. Alex was sitting in the room when she walked in simply shed her clothes donned her robe and went to take a shower. On top of that Lillian basically ignored the girl. No wonder she was shy earlier. The poor girl had probably thought she didn't like her or something. "So sorry about earlier Alex, I didn't mean to totally ignore you when I went to take a shower. I had well sort of been in my own world. I guess you could say my body was on auto pilot."

Isabella excused herself from the music room, feeling a little better after the impromptu jam session with Tsukino and Varis. If something was going to soothe her twisting thoughts and aching stomach… It would of course, be that which was second nature to her. She made her way down the hall of the sub-levels to the elevators, checking the clock on her cell…Sofia, Wind Dancer, would have her head if she was late. They were supposed to decide what flowers to order, and whether to have a live band or a DJ. They also needed to organize a photographer…

Her low heeled, tan colored, riding boots clicked softly on the steel floor, auburn tresses held in a large clip that left it haphazardly half up and half down. Sometimes she had more hair than she knew what to do with…But someone close her had always liked it long, so she’d always kept it that way. Maybe it was time for a trim. She wore a forest green, long sleeved dress that criss-crossed fabric up the back like a faux corset. She had the sleeves pushed up to her elbows, exposing thick gold bangles. The neckline hung off the shoulders, but held to her gently.

It fell to just above the knee, giving her the appearance of an almost nymph-like creature—Rather than a mutant student. She still had a ton of green in her wardrobe from when she’d led the Paragons. She tended to keep her clothing as well maintained as possible, so her closet only grew and grew—Until she let some of the underclassmen girls raid it.

About to walk into the assigned room for the prom committee—She paused. She’d thought she heard her name on the wind.

“C’mon Bells!”, Sofia called to her from inside, her joyful voice causing Bella to smile reflexively. It was still filled with an innocence that she wished she knew… But that was long gone.

Her exceptional hearing traced the voice… Across the school, out the door… She recognized it, and was privy to a conversation that she probably wasn’t meant to hear. Sighing, the songstress looked at Wind Dancer apologetically… “I’ll have to meet up with you later Sof…Team thing.”

Wind Dancer looked put out but didn’t say anything against it. She knew that for the team leaders—Especially the Junior X-Men…Team related stuff came before anything else.

Isabella seemed to blur then…Her form simply there one moment, and gone the next….Blipping in and out of sight. Someone unfamiliar with her power might have thought that she was teleporting short distances…But in truth, she was simply moving exceedingly fast. The speed of sound, to be exact. Silencing her movements, the sound of her breathing, the bracelets on her wrists clanging together, as she was prone to do… She was soon taking a seat beside Leonardo at the lake.

He had enough training that she expected him to eventually figure out there was an additional person beside him, other than Tara. Who, thankfully, seemed to have a good deal of sense in her… She’d felt…Disturbed, at the thought of Leo leaving because he thought that he made them a target. Because of the mall incident. A soft breeze pulled through her hair as she let the silence fade…Her bracelets moving in the wind. The soft chimes would give away her presence. “…She’s right, you know.”

Isabella tucked her legs beside herself like a proper lady, ankles delicately crossed…Fathomless jade eyes trained on the rolling water. She didn’t look at all out of breath…Everything about her entirely still. As if she’d been there all along.

“I’m going to do you a favor, Leo, and pretend I didn’t just hear you say you’ve been avoiding me.”, she breathed out, a faint touch of amusement coloring her soft, musical tones. Her gaze flickered from the lake, to a small flower growing out of the grass beside her… Only to reach over, and pinch Leonardo in the arm…Not exactly, gently. The mischievous smile that curved on her lips belied her innocent eyes. “And that was for talking about leaving.”

“I could see it….If it was what you really wanted…But because you feel guilty, about something that wasn’t your fault? Yours-- Or Aurelie’s? Don’t be silly.”
, she trailed off firmly, though somehow it didn’t seem like she was scolding him…Merely pointing out facts that he apparently needed to hear. And from one of the people that he’d been avoiding—She hoped he listened. “We’re mutants…”

“All of us. We’re always a target, for some reason or another…. Sinist—Some crazy scientist guy wants to dissect me in a lab somewhere…And for the longest time would do anything, including murder everyone here to do that. Gideon is still on the run from HYDRA…You aren’t the only mutant here liberated from SHIELD…And God only knows who Emma and Logan have pissed off in their day…”
, Bella went on, simply elaborating on the things Tara had spoken…Trying to reassure her Alpha that nothing he had done changed him, in her eyes. Changed his status in the school.

“In here or out there…The world still hates us. But in here—I like to think that we’re a little stronger together.”

She did not point out, that more of them together simply made a larger target…That was the recently developed pessimistic side of her that seemed to be coming out more and more. But she knew that the senior X-Men would protect them…all of them. And if that failed…They could protect themselves.

“I should have said it sooner…But I was proud of you. You held it together... And from what I've heard, showed some pretty good leadership skills when I was unconscious... I was never angry with you, or disappointed for trying to do the right thing... Mystique and Magneto are those that I hold accountable.”

If only she could follow her own advice. She still felt that she'd failed the Alpha's... In so many ways.

Remembering that Tara had tried to change the topic, she sighed dramatically—Breaking her statuesque visage as her hand touched her forehead. “And our earth mover is right… Woe to the hormonal girl that doesn’t get to see our little Leo in a penguin suit… It just seems like a crime…Doesn’t it Tara?”

Her body tilted, shifting as she nudged the boy gently—An encouraging smile flickering over her features. He could laugh. He could do this… He could keep going, because he would have help—If he needed it.

And if he kept spouting off such stupid things… She couldn’t be held responsible for how hard her hand hit him upside the head. Perhaps that would knock some sense into him.

Something told her, that she might need to have this same conversation with Aurelie quite soon.

Aria simply nodded as Christian thanked her for her comment on his Aura. As she finished moving to her spot she allowed her mind and eyes to focus on her best friend. She silently listened to Quinn speak, and smiled as she caused the pencil to pretty much melt in her hand. She was always curious just what kind of acid her body made, and just exactly how. She figured the girl probably hadn't a clue, so she never really asked.

She turned her attention now to Christian as he began to talk. "Agreed, every power has it's usefulness. She turned and looked at the girl who he called out to, known as Jubilee. She raised a brow as he asked her to shoot some firworks his way. What power did he have? Could he make a shield to absorb the attack, or maybe he was able to deflect it? She silently watched and let out a small gasp as she watched the energy disappear into his hand. She had barely blinked as he fired the energy back out. "That's cool... can you absorb Auras?" She was tempted to fire an Auric arrow at him to see, but she figured he would know if he could or couldn't. She wasn't sure if her could either way, since the Aura was pretty much a life force. She didn't want to risk shooting the arrow at him anyways, since it would be quite painful if he couldn't.

---------------------¦A somewhat relieved grin would trace it's way across Quinn's features when Christian responded to her small performance, "Thank you," the girl curtsied in her moment of gladness. It was only then that she'd let her hand drop the tiny pieces of debris that had been the remains of the pencil she so easily was able to turn into nothing. The light coat of acid that had laced her skin also began to retreat back into her pores, allowing her arms to appear normal and dry once again. Thankfully, most of the time her mutation simply looked like sweat, which was relatively normal until it started to disintegrate her clothing. That's when it became embarrassing, but those days in which she had such a lack of control had happily come to an end. Over the years, she'd learned to be able to at least concentrate on what part of her body she'd be producing the acid, from there her control became more intricate and precise. Part of her concentration was usually spent on keeping her mutation in check, which was also another reason she often worried about people touching her. Even though that part of her concentration was starting to become passive on it's own, the smallest of slip ups would easily hurt someone she cared about. Obviously, that was the last thing she wanted to do.

Content with her own performance, Quinn retook her place next to Aria, putting her coat back on as well as replacing the items in her satchel. Now that she'd finished up with her own show and tell, it was Christian's turn. Based on the response he'd given about everyone being useful, there was a lot left to her imagination. Truly, his own powers could fall along the lines of just about anything. The variety of people at the Institute was simply astonishing.

Part of her would grow exceedingly curious as he called out to Jubilee, asking the female for a few fireworks. Her lips would part, as if beginning to question what it was he'd need them for, but before she was able to utter a sound, the fireworks crashed into Christian's outstretched hand. A look of pure surprise would mask Quinn's features, her mouth still parted slightly as she listened to him explain. Absorption and redirection -- brilliant.

"Good enough? That was amazing!" Another smile would cross the girl's face, shifting her surprise to astonishment. The brunette brought her hands up to clap together a couple of times, applauding Christian's own performance. ¦

User ImageOf sorts.” Aurelie responded when Roland inquired casually on whether or not she lived on a farm before coming to the academy. Technically speaking, she had… but the Nissley home was likely far more traditional than what he could have imagined on his own. He was probably envisioning a small patch of land for the tomatoes and turnips, a barn with a few cows and a dog named “Spot” to keep them in line. Rather than correcting him and indulging in why she’d chosen such a cryptic response, the telekinetic smiled easily, as though the expression would put the subject to rest. He seemed content to do so – a small blessing that kept her spirits up.

Talking about her folks tended to bring a bitter cloud to hang about her head. Not that she expected anyone to know that about her, but conversation centered on what religious sect her biological family fell into was a subject to be avoided, if possible. Thankfully, the Omega man didn’t seem like one to pry, and the topic segued onto someone else – Dr. Hank McCoy. She appreciated the note of fondness that was underlying in Roland’s tone as he spoke about the professor. Considering Hand was easily one of her favorite instructors, the conversation elevated her opinion of Roland that much more. “I feel the same way… he’s always been so helpful when I’ve needed clarification on something. And considering I’m studying to be a pharmacist, I need it pretty frequently.” The last was a bit sheepish – admitting she needed assistance with homework may have made her appear less than intelligent, but the truth was she just needed clarification with a few compounds that didn’t exactly play by the rules of organic chemistry.

Her head tilted when Roland mentioned that he taught himself, soft curls swinging gently with the movement. “Sounds like you have plenty of interesting stories to tell.” She murmured, genuine in her interest. The way he made it sound, it’d be the type of thing she’d read in a book, curled up in a blanket next to the fire. And if the scar across his eye was any indication, it’d be a nail-biter.

If she had noticed how he distant he looked for a moment, Aurelie didn’t give any signs. She knew well enough how ghosts sometimes met her eyes, glazing them over as she thought of times long since passed. He snapped out of it, jumping straight back in at the topic of wearing a suit and tie, which elicited a small, airy giggle out of her. “Roland, I do loathe to break it to you,” She started, clearly teasing, “but, I don’t think you fit the mold to be a chaperone.” Besides, he needed to go, have fun and be merry.

As expected, the Omega member was gracious to Bianca’s arrival, though adamantly protested against it being his prom. The blond’s mouth pulled down slightly into a frown. Bianca voiced the same thoughts as she – an Omega partner was not necessary for the evening, but Aurelie felt the need to remind Roland that the women on his team could not be as foul as he seemed to think them “There is nothing wrong with your teammates… but I’m sure there are several Alpha girls that don’t have dates yet – and a girl could always use a handsome dance partner for the night.” One eye winked blithely, long eyelashes sweeping across her cheek. Had she been more bold, Aurelie would have suggested that he escort Bianca – but the girl was painfully timid, shy… and likely wouldn’t appreciate Aurie’s nose being pressed into her business. Plus, she might already have a date…and then it’d just be awkward.

You got me back in time.” She responded to Bianca’s voicing that she wished to have done more. “That, is more than I could have hoped for. Had you not so hastily returned with my carcass, I might not have survived…” Some telekinetics had died from the same injuries – it was no exaggeration there. “Plus, you following the creepy frogboy around, so many other people would have died.” The blond assured her, hoping to assuage her teammate’s despondency about the chaos in the mall.

With a note of good humor, Aurelie found herself concurring with the declarations against Toad; she too had to repress the urge to vomit at the thought of his sticky, slimy tongue attempting to apprehend them, “steal” them for a “date.” “Neither will I, sadly.” A pity, really.. she’d thought them rather cute when she played on the edge of the ponds as a child.

Aurelie too, fought a diffident smile at the mention of Dominik, who had been her most frequent visitor while she remained in the infirmary. “He is nice.” She agreed, giving no hint how she felt about him. “Though, not always quiet… he and his comrade, Aren seem to joke quite a deal when they keep company with each other.” He’d brought the native to meet her one day, and it’d been an afternoon that they all apparently needed. The laughs had certainly seen to it that not all of her days spent in the infirmary had been dreary and desolate. A part of her had wished to see Leo, but giving all that had happened, the telekinetic couldn’t expect for him to want to be around her. From a possible post traumatic stress problem, to her failures regarding the second bomb… he had plenty of reason to shy away from her.

While Bianca made plans to help stage the decorations for the dance, Aurelie still had yet to finalize her agenda for the evening. She didn’t want to be the cause of envy for her roommate, but during the past month, she’d grown close to one of the Omegas… who had already asked her to “not go to prom with him” – as he had put it. But it was the same man that the dark haired girl had been talking about, so for the time being, discretion was necessary. “That sounds like fun.” She murmured, hooking a curl behind her ear. Eventually, she’d give him an answer on that. “Though, decorations and stuff aren’t exactly my forte… and I don’t think I have a dress that’s appropriate attire for the evening… and shopping proved to be dangerous last time, so we’ll see.

She shrugged then, as though it were nothing. But really, she was out of high school, well into her college career… a prom night didn’t sound at all like something the former Julliard student needed. Instead, she’d likely listen to the wry wit that Dom always had an ample supply of.
And that, sounded like as good a plan as any.
