Draconis watched Ginevra intently as he listened. "You're right," he said simply. "This isn't us. But if you think about it, Ginevra, we've only reached this point in a relationship because we know what we're really like. To the core. And we're okay with it. In fact, I down right love it. And no one can promise their mate a long, happy relationship without arguments and the like. That's just not even possible. I'll never promise you a never-ending fairy tale romance, and you'll never want one, Ginevra."
At this, Draconis lowered his voice and took a few steps closer to her, making sure he caught her eye and held her attentinon. "But you do have me," he said. "Most of the time. Because fidelity is another thing I cannot promise you." He offered her a cheeky grin.

Ginevra's initial impulse was to swing her long tail around and whack her mate in the side with it. She went with that impulse. "You are so infuriating sometimes!" She exclaimed, attempting rather unsuccessfully to hide her own smile. "Thank the 'Deities fidelity isn't in the contract! I don't know what I would do if I had to only be with you for the rest of my life."
With that, the 'Daeva spread her wings and began to fly off. "Speaking of which, I think I'm off to find myself someone new for a time. Later, darling!" Ginevra called out as she flew away. She wasn't particularly serious about looking for another guy, not that she would say no to an interesting someone or other who came along. Regardless, Ginevra knew what Draconis had said was absolutely true. Their love wasn't storybook worthy, but it was love, and he was the one she would always fly home to in the end.
