hui_lai_lee Seraphynthetic Why isn't there an option between casual and "hardcore"? D: And besides, in Japan, most "hardcore" lolitas only dress "hardcore" lolita on weekends. x: What do you think the option should be like? My "hardcore" is anything full-blown lolita, not hardcore as dressing 24/7 and using old English when you speak. And like KitsunekoChan said, the weekend thing is due to school uniforms. Not sure, but like when I'm just at home, I don't wear loli, I'm usually in pajamas (mostly because I'm asleep D: ). And at work I'm always in uniform. I can't always wear loli at school because some students and teachers have had problems with me dressing too sexily (since when is wearing lace, frills, and knee length skirts not dress code, but the girl in a**-shorts and spaghetti straps is dress code? I'll never understand the school system...). But on weekends (that I'm not working) I do dress loli, even if it's casual loli or a more kodona (I consider kodona a sub-category of lolita), almost "vampiric", look. But with your descriptions, I'm having a hard time figuring out which one I am, considering that I've always considered myself a true "hardcore" lolita. :/ And I don't believe that the weekend thing is just because of school uniforms, since when most of them get home from school don't immediately don petticoats and frills. Also many lolitas are not highschoolers or college students, and don't give me the job uniform stuff, since what applies to students returning home from school applies to workers returning home from work. And we all know that Mana doesn't wear lolita or EGA constantly, for if he were to, he'd be jumped constantly while trying to buy vegetables for his dinner (if he does such a thing D: ).

You just totally missed my point.
My poll does not have anything about how often you wear lolita, since it is irrelevant. If you wear "proper", not toned down lolita most of the time when you -do- wear lolita, then pick the hardcore option.
After I started this poll, I think I now count as "hardcore", as I have brand stuff and usually wear full lolita with petticoats and all, when I do wear loli (I have other styles too, sporty chick and a bohemian thing and...). And yes, I still hang out at home in my pyjamas - most of which are lolita inspired nowadays.

I dress 'hardcore' gosurori every weekend (every time I go out). I only have two outfits though because they're so expensive , and one of them is more EGA, which I wear less. But is it 'hardcore' if the labels aren't Japanese?... They're English, but they're still Gothic Lolita.

Machika Balfaltin But is it 'hardcore' if the labels aren't Japanese?... They're English, but they're still Gothic Lolita. Here comes a personal opinion of mine! *dong* Japanese brands are nice and the like, but not everyone is ever even going to fit into them! It would be goofy to grade a loli according to how many brand items they own. That's why I put "might" in the poll...

Also many lolitas are not highschoolers or college students, and don't give me the job uniform stuff, since what applies to students returning home from school applies to workers returning home from work. well.. I'd just like to say that most lolitas in Japan are in High school, and theres lots of homework in high school in Japan, thats another reason. The work world in Japan is so busy (and you have to have a good job to buy just about anything) that most lolitas have to quit after college or high school, theres a lot of pressure to conform.... thats another reason than uniforms. Sorry, I just like to point out everything I know about Japan every chance I get... sweatdrop Anyway, I try to dress casual loli but not really. I was into goth loli, but now I hate it and have all this stuff I don't even wear! But I'm trying to get my mom to buy me a dress from meta for my birthday (which was four months ago, and I still haven't gotten a present! But I won't complain, not very lolita of me.) But I'd be very embarrassed to wear "hardcore" loli because just about everyone in my school is very conformist, but I've got to start being lolita someday! Wow that post was wayyy too long for just a lot of nothing...

I go between casual and full-out frilly dresses. It really depends on how I feel that day. I have clothes that fit into each category.

I am curious lolita. I like it. I do not own any elaborate clothes though.
I did however, buy an adorable lace, vest/corset in salmon pink. It is so lolita it hurts. I have been told that sometimes I look like a doll when I wear fake lashes and curl my hair.
I would just like to learn more about this subculture, and also get inspiration from the clothing and people.

akenon I'm too poor to dress lolita DD: Check out thrift stores. Alot of the petticoats (like the red one and the white ones I'm wearing in the guild photo section) came from thrift shops. You'd be suprised what you can find. And you can take large children's easter, formal and church dresses and alter them... Or just remove the petticoat and sew a top layer to it. Get crafty.

I'm loli at heart - I really need to find a pattern for this CUTE baby-blue plaid fabric I found. I'll eventually make that into a loli-fied Dorothy dress. I got a cute top to go under it. Now all I need are some platform ruby slippers heart

I am most definitely a hardcore loli. I dress at least casual loli everyday, sometimes with a punk, or more EGA feel at times, and wear full dress loli 2-3 times a week.
Even if I go out shopping, for dinner, to a friends house... I have to have a BTSSB cutsew, or a Meta jsk, or one of my Innocent World skirts ^.^
My entire wardrobe is either loli, punk-loli, visual kei-inspired, or extremely comfortable XD I sold off/gave away anything else. That it way it forces you to be fashionable! ^_~
