Still managing to fly while being amazed and awed by the other phim’s grace and power Chaos felt so completely at ease had she stopped to dwell on it, it would have scared her. Clearly Xi Lan was born for riding the air and wind. Knowing that she would tire long before him Chaos leveled out her flight pattern. Not long after she did so did Xi Lan. She hoped he knew that she was just trying to conserve her strength; and not that she didn’t want to play with him anymore. That was not the case, she wanted to play with him a lot, and sadly she knew she would be left behind since her skills were so limited next to his. While staying paced Choas mentally congratulated herself on flying so far after not having flown so much in a very long time. She could feel her wings start to grow heavy and there was an ache in her muscles. Still she kept going, not wanting to slow Xi Lan down any more than she already did.
The air felt cooler and it was harder to find a decent thermal to ride. Perhaps it was her lack of skills in the air or perhaps it was a storm growing closer. Feeling the fur on the nape of her neck start to stand on end under her collar she glanced over at Xi Lan. He seemed to be doing just fine. Perhaps he was used to storms? The blue vixen wondered what it was like to fly in the heart of a storm. All she could imagine was herself being ripped to shreds with her feathers and scraps of her garment being pulled along by the wind while the rest of her was a crushed mash on the ground barely grasping for breathe. Shuddering she decided to try and get Xi Lan’s attention so she could ask if they could land. Surging forward for a second she half turned to look at Xi Lan. She pointed down to the ground with a paw rather than risk her words being carried away by the winds.

They had been flying for a while Xi lan figured and turned back to see Chaos mentioning towards the ground. He nodded since they where almost there anyways and it would be a good time to catch a bite to eat as well. Chaos probably wasn’t used to flying all that much where as Xi lan traveled around a lot and was used to being in the air a good portion of the day. Then again he was also fine with going Chaos’s pace too as it was a trip for her. Plus all their playing probably hadn’t helped her stamina either; well at least she was having fun that was what truly mattered. Maybe for a while they could walk towards the hot springs it would be good to soak any sore muscles and as long as you went in during the day you where pretty safe from the cold. It was getting a mite colder but they where pretty well ahead of the storm. At least at the moment.
Hmmm Sure they had a couple of Chaos’s rice balls that she had taken for the journey but Xi lan tried to remember if there was anything else near here. He knew of the general area but he didn’t really stop here all that often. It would be fun to go explore at a later date, sure they had time to mess around for a little bit enough for Chaos to catch her breath and things but not that much time plus Xi lan was more looking forward to soaking in the hot springs then exploring at the moment. With the stress he had caused him self earlier on in the day it would definitely be good to relax, which reminded him of why they had stopped in the first place. He finally moved his gaze over towards Chaos to see how she was doing. He let out a small breath and took a seat “you okay?” he asked. It wasn’t like she was dying or anything but he was concerned if she had over pushed it or anything.

Her wings twinged reminding her that she would pay for that little bit of fun she had earlier. As she and Xi Lan descended she wondered if she could rub her wings before they slept to keep the pain at bay in the morning. Still if she did that then Xi Lan would know that she had been flying longer than she had been comfortable with and would slow down more. The idea of holding him back bothered Chaos who disliked being in the way of anyone and especially in the way of someone like Xi Lan who was so important to her. Still she pushed the negative thoughts to the back of her mind. Before this day she had no idea what to call that feeling so why should she be dwelling on it so much?
She landed with a small thump on the ground. Neatly tucking her wings close to her body the vixen took a breath trying to relax. Looking at him she smiled. “Yes I am fine. A bit more exhausted, though hardly surprising considering how little I fly.” She blushed a bit. “You were amazing Xi Lan. It was so fun to be in the air with you. I felt as though my body and heart were dancing.” In truth her heart was still stammering loudly in her chest, though she was beginning to think that the emotion she felt toward Xi Lan had more to do with that then the actual exercise did. Her stomach decided that it would be a good time to interrupt her from saying more. She didn’t think she was all that hungry, but perhaps the flying had made her use up more energy than she had realized. More than anything she just wanted to curl up and sleep, with a storm on the way and no shelter she thought that might be a bad idea. She mentally made a task list. Fist feed her stomach to silence it. Then try and keep up with Xi Lan to go where he wanted to go. Then find shelter and sleep.

Xi lan let out a sigh of worry. Chaos did look pretty tired. He would have to keep a better reminder that Chaos didn’t have his limits. She hadn’t had all the flying experience or training he had gone under. Plus she didn’t seem like she got out flying that long before. So even though they had a ways to go he would still have to remember her health. What kind of friend would he be if he flew Chaos into oblivion, which would definitely cut down on the enjoyment of the surprise he wanted to show her? Ugh rule number one was not to get too carried away. He needed to remember about others as well. However she did look like she was having fun which was a good thing. He didn’t goof up too badly. He should go flying out with a couple other phims instead of all his passionate flying friends.
Yep He had guessed it and it only made him feel slightly worse. He kept a tight control on his face and showing his emotions however so Chaos wouldn’t worry about him feeling bad. He was going to step up now, no more just thinking about him self and the destination, even if he had been following his rules and berating him self for the last few seconds. “Its okay. I should have taken that in to consideration, that not everyone has the same flying experience as me. However I do thank you for playing with me. It was very nice I really enjoyed it” he replied a smile lighting his face. He looked down at Chaos when her stomach growled and let out a small chuckle. “Well it’s a good thing that we stopped. We should eat some food and get our strength up again. I don’t believe the storm will be that close to us any time soon so we should have some eating time.” Hmm however storms where hardly predictable and he would definitely have to keep in mind shelter if it stayed on course and reached the hot springs as well. Actually considering they would be close to a cave system ideal for living in Shelter wouldn’t be too big of a problem.

Hearing Xi Lan sigh Chaos’s ears perked up a bit. Was he upset that she couldn’t have gone further? Or was he annoyed at her? Of course it didn’t help that his face was unreadable to her. Chaos had a hard enough understanding what facial expressions meant what with other foxes, with Xi Lan’s flat black stare she felt positively lost. Her insides squirmed at Xi Lan looked at her for a few moments in thought. Then when the male started to speak again Chaos felt a wash of relief. He wasn’t mad at her, he was only upset with himself? While that wasn’t the idea situation Chaos was sure she could make him feel a bit better. “I’m glad that you had fun.” Seeing his smile made Chaos smile out of reflex, and yet there was more to it than that. She felt her entire mood lighten a bit. The thrill of the flight came back to her and it was as thought the moment of worry she had just experienced had never occurred. Xi Lan had that kind of effect on her. Nodding she pulled out some of the rice balls she had taken with her. “Well then would you like one Xi Lan?” She set one on the ground before him before unwrapping one for herself. He muscled protested as she started to eat. Even though she was tired she took the time to savor the flavor of the rice ball she had before her. She didn’t know what to expect when it came to the weather. Chaos’s life had always been so simple if it started to rain or look like the weather was bad then she just went inside where it was safe and warm. Due to that she had never really seen how fast a storm came in unless she looked outside. So her skill in judging them was definitely toward the low end of satisfactory. She looked up at the sky and then back to Xi Lan nodding. She would trust his say on the matter.

Xi lan looked up at the storm again and nibbled on his lower lip. If it picked up any speed they would definitely get drenched. Best scenario would be to finish up their snack and then go to the hot springs to relax Chaos’s muscles from her flight. The hot springs was only about 30 minutes away at a walking pace. It looked like it would be a harsh storm but a fast one. They could relax in the warm water and then maybe catch something a bit more filling afterwards. Xi lan did have a shelter in mind they could take refuge at. Of course it would keep them from seeing the cave at sunset but the shades of sparkling blue during the moonlight was pretty as well. Hopefully it wouldn’t be disappointing and they could always try at sunset provided that Xi lan was awake for it.
“Thank you. I think I’ll have one.” Xi lan pointed out. “I came to the conclusion I don’t want to try and risk the storm’s mood. I think it’s a pretty good distance away but it would make for a terrible outing if we suddenly got drenched. The hot springs I had in mind is about thirty minutes away. I figure we can kill some time in there and then maybe grab a bigger meal. If the storm actually does hit my brother has a cave in the area. He isn’t going to be there and he doesn’t mind if I stop by as long as I don’t mess anything up. After it clears up I can show you the destination I had in mind. It won’t be as nice as it would have been during sunset but it’s still rather breathtaking none the less.” He replied wanting to keep Chaos in the loop. Plus he really did Hope that Meris was nowhere around. It would be rather awful, however this time of year he didn’t visit too much. Besides with Morin just having kids Meris would be busy catching up since he was better friends with the black and purple male out of the entire group. Well even if he was, Meris wouldn’t turn them out into the rain, plus Chaos had mentioned wanting to see him. Xi lan just hoped it wouldn’t be that soon. other than no reason than it would be awkward.

Quickly nibbling on her rice ball Chaos nodded. She had been to a hot springs a few different times so she was familiar enough with them to be comfortable in the hot water. As for meeting Xi Lan’s family, well it would certainly be interesting to say the least. She did want to meet the people who had grown up with the blue and purple phim. Though should they meet she supposed she should have something to discuss, after all walking up and saying ‘hello I’m Xi Lan’s friend and I’ve realized I have given up my heart to him without intending to. Would you like to discuss him which I always find an interesting topic or do you have some advice for someone who has a .. crush? and doesn’t quite know what to do with or about it’ didn’t quite seem like the way to start out. Her face showed a shadow of what she was thinking as she blushed and yet had an exasperated look on her face all at once.
Folding up the rest of her rice ball Chaos slipped it into her other sleeve so that it wouldn’t get confused with the other whole ones. “I understand. I think you have a very good plan in place Xi Lan. Truthfully I am glad for the rest my wings can have.” She offered him a small smile. “Besides I am certain that whatever you have to show me will be beautiful no matter what. After all sometimes the company makes anything improved; even if it was too dark to see what you’re looking at.” It was Chaos’s way of attempting to say that it didn’t matter where they went as long as he was with Xi Lan she would be happy. Still she didn’t know if what she point got across. Silently she vowed that she would get better at the strange little phrases foxes used to communicate their feelings so that she could tell Xi Lan how she felt as soon as she figured it out. Hopefully next time it could be possible without him in a tree and her not realizing he was there. Perhaps if they did stay with Xi Lan’s brother he could help her with that. Very pleased with having come up with a topic and being able to learn something Chaos started looking forward to things rather than dreading them.

Xi lan smiled and waited for Chaos to finish eating her Rice ball. It was good Chaos was open to the hot springs idea, but most foxes knew about them so he wasn’t too surprised. He was looking forward to it as well as he had originally planned to come here some time today or this week. He just didn’t think it would be with company. Speaking of company he had his annual meeting with Morin and the others soon. He wondered if he should ask Chaos to go with him just yet, however he was going to tell her about them since some times they did tend to get carried away and find them selves in the middle of an adventure for weeks on end and he didn’t want to worry her. Before when they met up it could be months or weeks before they saw each other again. However he didn’t think that would be the case any more. More he didn’t want it to be the case. “Well Amatsu was never good with flying long distances when he was little so I got really good at giving others a rest.
“Oh no you can finish if you want, besides it’s a full moon tonight, we’ll be able to see something. However I do agree with you company always make things a lot better. You remember me telling you I grew up with lots of friends. They where always kind of stick in the mud’s and I had to drag them to do things. However I remember it being a lot more fun when I successfully got them to come. It’s also supposed to be more special when you go with some one you have feelings before. I guess we’ll see if it’s true or I” Xi lan trailed off while he was still ahead and looked up at the clouds again. “Well if you’re done shall we start our trip again?” He asked. Waiting until he got the okay he began using his wing to brush away the branches and debris on the path. The air was starting to get a bit cooler and the wind had definitely picked up bringing an almost wet feeling to it. Personally it was always his favorite weather and he absolutely loved flying and playing through it however he knew that not everyone shared the same likes. He looked back briefly to make sure Chaos was still following and turned around looking at the path again sighing. He realized Chaos was a pretty strong girl; he needed to give her a bit more credit. He was fully willing to blame it on not knowing what to do with a girlfriend but this was hardly him. He just needed to act natural.

Choas smiled to herself when she thought Xi Lan wasn’t looking. It seemed like the male was the kind to bring others along to activities that turned out to be fun for everyone, and yet he also had a soft side that made him so patient when it came to dealing with others who might not be as strong or as fast as he was. She really liked those qualities about him. She nodded when he spoke about going forward again. The wind lifter her curls and tossed them about making it hard for her to see. She liked softer breezes but the damp feeling the wind carried was nice. If only she could strip out of her cloths. She disliked them getting damp even if she loved the feeling of her own fur getting wet. Following Xi Lan she stepped over some debris that didn’t get completely swept off the path by Xi Lan. As sore as her wings were she made sure to open and close them a bit as she walked. She might not be much of a flier but she knew enough to exercise her wings when they were this sore least they lock up on her later.
“Xi Lan if it wouldn’t bother you too much what was it you were saying before? You started to say something and stopped.” Part of the vixen was telling her what he had been saying was important, but for the life of her she couldn’t figure out what it was. Did Xi Lan say that because he was going to that place with her? If so did that mean that he had special feelings for her? He had offered to go with her and see in future if they would be good together, but that seemed only a possibility since it seemed she was the one who had the crush and he was the kind one gently showing her things. She smiled as the small cloud that started to form in her heart simply vanished. Xi Lan had said they could try. That was good enough. No matter what become of them she knew she felt comfortable with Xi Lan and she didn’t mind if he didn’t share her feelings exactly. Her tail wagged behind her as she walked. Despite the worsening weather Chaos’s heart just felt lighter and lighter. She knew what her feelings where, Xi Lan was willing to see if they were compatible as more then friends, and she was here now with him going to soak in some hot springs and then off to see the wonder Xi Lan wished to show her; possibly even seeing some of his family along the way. The world may spin as it will, for now all was well.
(This muse.. she fascinates me. She doesn't understand the most basic of things, she has nothing and I mean nothing she is good at. There are times when she overcomplicates things and worries needlessly and yet all the same it only takes her remember a single thing here or there and the woosh~ All is well with the world. Also I think Xi Lan broke her... in my head she's giggling happy now..... )

Hmmm now he just needed to get through the day with out being lost. It would really bad to be thought of as an incompetent leader. However he figured Chaos would never really put it against him that he had in fact gotten lost. There was also the fact that as long as he didn’t mention it either it was safe, looking up at the sky and trees again though he quickly found a land mark before beginning to travel. He looked back at Chaos and saw that her hair seemed to be attacking her face again. Perhaps maybe he could ask Amatsu for one of those things that he used to tie his hair back. Chaos might like it. She would definitely look rather cute with her hair pulled back as well. Turning back to the path ahead he looked for any signs of his brother, even if he was pretty sure the other male was off. “Be careful with your step” Xi lan warned. “The wind will want to cause your hair to impede your sight and there are a couple of foot holds here and now just waiting to trip unsuspecting travelers.” He spoke up keeping an ear open to maybe steady her or keep her from falling if she did.
“Well it was more; you know how I was talking about things being more special with the one you though of as special. Well I was going to correct the statement, that you are special in a lot of ways and so I shouldn’t be doubting whether or not it would be fine” Xi lan tried to explain. “However mostly it was coming out as a bunch of blarbled nonsense and I wasn’t explaining it very well in my head” Xi lan replied shrugging. He lightly wondered how Chaos would take him speaking the special part but no matter what she thought was fine. Sure he still wasn’t done making sense of his own weird feelings on the matter but what he had said was true. She was and had always been special. He just needed to figure out the type of special and to stop leading her on whether or not it was he returned the feelings or if it would only be friendship. She deserved and honest answer. Suddenly the Folliage melted away to rocks and Xi lan let out a smile before turning back to his companion. “Looks like we have just a small little climb up the mountain and we’ll be there” He replied. It would be really easy to just fly/hop up there but it might be fun to try climbing to the hot springs like a normal would have. Chaos hadn’t been resting that long and they had been flying for a good while before the rest. “How would you like to get up there?”

She really was so lucky to be with someone who can travel. Chaos was certain she would have been very lost by now. Chaos heard most of what Xi Lan said. Enough to know to watch her step at least. The last thing she wanted was to trip up and slow Xi Lan down more than she already did. Trying to stifle a yawn that managed to break it’s way through she scolded herself for being tired. Xi Lan wasn’t tired at all. It was true that she had flown far more than she was used to and only consumed enough food to keep her stomach from yelling at her, but she wanted to stay awake. Moving her paws with purpose Chaos felt the feelings of exhaustion leave as she combated them with the desire to see the hot springs and find a safe shelter so that she and Xi Lan could rest. She managed to talk herself into believing that she wasn’t quite as tired as she was. Between the wind playing with her hair and her drowsiness Chaos almost fell into foot holds twice. She managed to save herself both time, but the last time her left paw started to smart so she knew she had hurt it. Not by much but just enough that it would prevent her from running well.
Special? Chaos didn’t understand what he meant but when he said it her insides squeezed themselves together. The drowsiness that was there was eaten away at even more by this excitement. Between her desire to move forward, the adrenaline from the near falls and now Xi Lan’s comments she wondered if her tiredness would leave completely, because it certainly felt like it could. She was going to say something but the brush and trees suddenly stopped and before here was a mountain. She looked up at it while she heard Xi Lan speaking to her. What did she want to do? Climb and hurt her paw more or fly with her already sore and tired wings? “I’ll climb.” She looked at Xi Lan with a smile. It was true she had hurt her paw, but between the option of flying or climbing she felt more confident that she could climb and do well enough verses flying with sore wings that could give out on her. Besides it was just a small pain, and she knew that with the wind as it was she would have a much harder flight than climb.
{I'm sorry you have a shorted tag than the one that should be here. I just can't remember what I had before.}

Come to think of it, Amatsu may have in fact left a couple of hair ties at the hot springs, after all his friends did like to come here as well especially Morin and Amatsu to see his Brother. Then again perhaps Chaos didn’t like her hair up. He would have to ask her once they got here. After she was starting to show signs of being tired and he didn’t want to distract her and have her stumble and get hurt. Perhaps he should have waited for the journey or at least spaced it out. After all Chaos had mentioned she wasn’t used to traveling away from the shrine that much. However he had come to the conclusion that there where many things he wanted to show her not just the hot springs and cavern that they were going to at the moment. However he would have plenty of time to show her these things as even if they didn’t become mates they were becoming infinitely closer. Then again could he survive another friendship that didn’t go further? Sure he had told Chaos he wasn’t used to love, was just used to being the guy next door type but he had to admit that wasn’t entirely true. “Alright Climb it is” Xi lan stated with a nod before starting up the rocky path. He made sure to keep an eye on Chaos, sure she seemed to perk up with renewed energy when he mentioned that she was special but it didn’t mean she wasn’t still exhausted in some way, and climbing up rocky areas could be dangerous. He wanted to make sure he was ready to catch her in case she did fall. After all this was supposed to be a mini adventure not a trip to go and see a shaman. Besides the Shaman’s around here only liked to heal their own tribe members which obviously Xi lan and Chaos were not a part of. Plus it was really bad manners if you let your companion injure themselves as well. Reaching the top with no problem he was rewarded with the warn steam that flowed from the mini hot springs, you could now see them and their clear yet aqua water since they were only a couple feet away. He looked back over at Chaos to see how she had fared.

Climbing up stubbornly Chaos refused to admit the pain her paw caused her. She kept quietly reminding herself that it was better than falling after a few flaps in the sky. Besides whatever she was going through at least she had Xi Lan nearby and he even said she was special. Grinning she pushed herself forward with a strength that would never have even imagined she possessed a few years ago. She had changed so much since she had left her home and then after she met others like Xi Lan. Looking up she noticed him looking down at her waiting patiently for her to get her tail in order and hurry up to him. Not wanting to keep him waiting she forged ahead and soon was up by him. Her paw smarted like it would never stop and she felt fatigued. Still she made it. Hoisting herself over the side to get up on the ledge her back paw kicked off some loose rock causing her to stumble for a moment. Out of reflex she half opened her wings nearly hitting Xi Lan. Blushing profusely she stammered an apology. She hadn’t meant to do that. She was just glad she hadn’t hit him.
Turning her head from Xi Lan she noticed a stream that had steam racing off it even with the wind. Beyond them was the hotsprings. They were so close that she wondered if she took two steps and hopped she would be able to end up in one. Oh how inviting they seemed! She just wanted to walk in an soak for a while. Looking back at Xi Lan she could feel a ridiculous smile across her face. “Shall we?” She turned and looked at the springs again wondering where she could stow her garments. The last thing she wanted was to freeze because her garments were wet or worse have to toss the food because the water ruined it. Looking from her sleeve to the springs she really wasn’t sure. Looking back to Xi Lan she wondered if he had an answer for her since he was more familiar with the area than she was. “ah Xi Lan… I hate to bother you, but well…” once more she looked from her sleeve to the spring and then to him feeling conflicted. All she really wanted to do was soak not take the time to undress. Still it couldn’t be helped and she knew it.
